of course my arms are exhausted now

Date Night

Penny comes home to a quiet apartment on Friday night.

Word count: 802

I open the door and see Simon’s head where it shouldn’t be: the couch.

“Did your date get canceled?” I call from the doorway. He shrugs with a small smile and points down at the couch.

I make my way over to him, dropping my bags in a trail along the floor. My back is going to hunch like an old lady by the time I’m thirty because I always take half the apartment with me when I leave for class. My shoes hit the couch with a thud as I fling them off.

I regret making all the noise because now I see that Simon isn’t alone on the couch.

Baz is curled up with his head in Simon’s lap, eyes peacefully closed and resting. Simon uses one hand to balance a textbook on the arm of the couch, and the other hand is holding Baz’s. He must have fallen asleep like that.

“He fell asleep as soon as he got here,” Simon whispers.

“He must be exhausted. Isn’t he taking more than a full course load this quarter?”

“I’m glad he’s getting some sleep.”

“Yeah,” sighs Simon. “How was your lecture? Did you teacher give back your paper yet?”

“No.” It sweet of Simon to remember, because he really doesn’t have to. He still keeps up with what’s going on in my classes, even though we’re not in the same ones anymore.

We’re talking in hushed tones, and Simon closes his textbook to run his fingers across Baz’s hair. I don’t know if he’s consciously doing this, or if it’s a habit his hands have learned to do on their own. “Lecture was good, though,” I say. “I got in a fight.”

“With the usual girl?”

“Yeah, the Tory. I gave her such a good smack down. A few people clapped.”

I grab the blanket we keep near the couch and lay it over Baz. It’s the big blue one with down inside and it’s also his favorite—I can’t believe I know this. I never thought I’d have a future where I would know Baz Pitch’s blanket preferences.

“You’re going to become friends with her one day,” Simon tells me.

I roll my eyes. “Not all of us make peace with our enemies by snogging them, Simon.”

He grins at that and looks down at Baz, and I see him get lost for a bit. I give them hell for their stupid flirting, mostly because it pales to moments like this. Quiet moments, when they both find some peace by being together. I wonder how long he’s been bound to this couch, trying not to disturb his sleeping boyfriend.

They were supposed to go to a fancy restaurant tonight, and Simon put a lot of effort into getting a reservation. I don’t think Simon cares that they’re missing it. With the way Simon is looking at Baz right now, I think that this is Simon’s idea of a date. Spending time close to each other, making sure they’re taking care of themselves. Staying inside, away from the pressures of the city. Inside, where Baz can fall asleep on Simon’s lap when he needs, and Simon can play with his hair.

“You guys are sweet,” I say. Simon rolls his eyes, but he’s still smiling. “Let’s get take out when he wakes up.”

There’s quiet for a few nice moments, but then I look at Baz and find that he’s looking at me.

“I’m not asleep anymore, Bunce.” The tosser. He heard me.

“Good morning, love,” says Simon. I think Baz would start poking fun at me, but he responds to Simon’s voice like a call, immediately turning to look at him. Everything about Baz changes when Simon calls him ‘love’. They’re getting lost in staring at each other.

“It’s still the evening, Snow,” Baz protests. He pulls Simon’s hand from his hair, kisses it, then holds it to his chest.

I make a big show of groaning and loudly place our food order, but I’m happy for them. There are so many times that we could have fallen apart, but we haven’t. Not yet. And I don’t think we will. I think we’re going to keep on getting through this.

I hang up the phone and am forced shove a pillow in their faces because they’re snogging. Already.

“But I thought we were sweet, Pen,” says Baz, and I smack him with a pillow again, then jump on the couch to sit between them, the three of us nestled under the blanket, hiding from the world and waiting for our food to arrive. It’s such a lame way to spend Friday night, but it’s what we usually do. I think we earned this, after everything.

Above me, I hear a wet smacking sound. Being short is horrible, sometimes.

“I swear, if you are snogging directly above my own head I will invent a new spell so horrible you will never recover.”

I feel them break apart from either side of me. Baz laughs, but his voice still sounds sleepy when he speaks to me. “Tell me about the smack down you gave at lecture today. And from the beginning, your lecture stories are always epic.”

They are epic. But still, it’s nice to hear it from him. I start from the top.

Superlane... Lucy is stationed wherever the show shipped her off to and Kara flies out every once so often to see her, go one a date or whatever. They both have a few stressful week and Kara hasn't had the chance to make the trip and she gets home from work one day and Lucy is waiting for her outside her apartment door like, "Since you haven't had the chance to fly to see me, I thought I'd fly to see you," or something less lame than that but in the same spirit of things.

They’re not /dating/ dating, obviously, because Lucy is in another city and Kara has gone from one relationship to another and she really just needs a break and dating her ex’s ex just seems like a bad idea so no, they are not dating dating. But they are dating, kind of, if you consider daily phone calls and Kara spontaneously flying cross country just so they can eat a meal together “dating”, and sure, maybe two weeks before, when they were sitting on the bed of Lucy’s long stay hotel, Kara may have kissed Lucy a little bit. Just a little bit! Barely a smooch; a mouth graze at most. It doesn’t mean they’re anything.

So. They are not in a relationship, and there is no reason for Kara to be moping around her apartment just because her superpower blowout has ruined her plans to spend the day at the Metropolis farmer’s market with Lucy. It also doesn’t matter that Lucy hasn’t responded to her last seven texts, either, because Kara is not her girlfriend so why should it matter? Also powerless Kara totally has allergies, probably, and that’s why she’s been crying and sniffling all day. No other reason.

And because Kara is clearly not in a relationship with Lucy Lane, she’s completely surprised when, after hearing someone bang on her door, she opens the door to find her standing there looking exhausted and balancing a huge box of donuts in her arms.

“I’m sorry I haven’t texted you back, I had to turn my phone off on the plane.”

And Kara’s allergies must be acting up because she’s really crying now as she gathers the other woman in her arms.

“You came all this way for me?” Kara asks, and Lucy looks at her like that’s the silliest question she’s ever heard.

“Of course I did, you goober. I’m your girlfriend, it’s my job.”

And who was Kara trying to fool? She is definitely /dating/ dating Lucy Lane, and she wouldn’t have it any other way.

Feysand Week - Family

This is my fourth fic for Feysand Week, and the prompt is ‘family.’

“Feyre. It’s going to be fine.”

I turn to look at Rhys, trying not to look as worried as I felt. “I know. But what if they don’t like me?” Hate me, in fact.

Rhys put his bag down on the front steps of the house and put his hands on my shoulders. “They’re going to love you, darling.”

I rested my forehead against his. “Really?”

He smiled, leaning down to snatch a kiss. “Really.” Rhys murmured against my lips before pulling away to knock on the door.

“Just Breathe Okay?”

Everything was running smoothly, just a normal match at a regular NXT taping. I was facing a new recruit in her very first match. I went to hit a simple super kick but she went to counter way too early. My head and the rest of my body smashed straight onto the mat. That was the last thing I could remember before my world was surrounding in darkness.                                                               I opened my eyes, only to find a bright white light shining right in my eyes and a siring pain in my right shoulder. I snapped my eyes closed again and let out a painful groan.                                                                                           “Oh thank god! You’re awake!” a voice I knew too well exclaimed too loudly. I reopened my eyes to see my boyfriend of the past 2 years, Baron Corbin, staring down at me with worry swimming in his eyes. The light in the room burned my eyes and made my head pound even more. I reached for his hand and pressed it over my eyelids. “Are you okay? What hurts?” he questioned, this time speaking much softer.                                                                 “My head is throbbing and my right shoulder feels like it’s on fire.”  I told him, shifting, then wincing at the pain that shot through my body. Baron instantly hushed me and tried to calm me down in order to ease my pain.                  “It’s okay, we are in the trainer’s office and they’re going to help you.” He explained, using his other hand to brush all of my hair out of my face. He gently kissed my forehead then began a conversation with the trainers about my health. Throughout the conversation, he kept one hand over my eyes while the other stroked my hair. The pain I felt only got worse as time progressed. My breathing got more shallow and much faster as the pain increased. Baron must have noticed and quickly paused his talk with the doctor. “Shhh. It’s alright. We are going to get you fixed up in a few minutes but I just need you to relax.” He soothed. I shook my head and squirmed in discomfort, which only made things worse. I felt him sit down next to me, removing his hand from my hair. Gently, he sat me up straight, then pulled my body onto his lap. I rested my head on his shoulder, not moving my arm in fear of even more pain. Baron then proceeded to pull his maroon  beanie off his head, letting his long black hair fall down his shoulders. Baron placed the soft hat onto my head and over my eyes and ears, which blocked the bright light and loud noise from making my head pound even more. I mumbled a word of thanks and nuzzled my head into his shoulder once more. His hands ran up and down my back, avoiding my right shoulder, while he continued to chat with the doctor.  Slowly, I stopped crying and Baron continued his conversation with the doctor. Ten minute later, he gently pulled the hat above my eyes and eyes.                                                         “Okay so you dislocated your right shoulder so the doctor is gonna have to pop it back into place. It’s gonna hurt but I’ll be by your side the whole time.” he explained. I shook my head and instantly panicked.                                                 “No, I don’t want it to hurt more! Please! What about my head? It hurts too.” I begged, getting worked up.                                                                                 “Hey, hey, hey. Calm down, hun. It’s gonna hurt then it’s gonna go away. If you don’t do this, it’s not going to stop hurting. As for your head, you have a mild concussion. Nothing crazy bad but still serious. So, are you ready to fix your shoulder?” he asked as he calmed me down. I took a deep breath and nodded. He gestured the doctor over and moved me so I was facing him and giving the doctor full access to my shoulder. Baron held me hands as I layed my head on his shoulder, bracing myself for even more pain than I was already in.The doctor placed his hands on my shoulder and counted down from three. Once he reached one, he pushed extremely hard onto my shoulder and popped it back into place. I screamed in agony, shoving my face into Baron’s shoulder to muffle my yelling. He tried to consoul me but I couldn’t hear him over my yelling. The doctor quickly wrapped my shoulder to keep it in place and taped a bag of ice to ease the inflammed muscle. I nuzzled my face into Baron’s neck as he ran his hands through my hair then down to my sides. He whispered sweet nothings into my ear as I started to calm myself down.                      “Relax princess, see, it’s over. We can go home now. How does that sound?” he soothed, kissing the top of my head. I didn’t answer for a moment, taking a couple more deep breathes to get myself together.                                      “Good. Can we go?” I mumbled, feeling exhausted from crying and pain.           “Of course baby.” He scooped me up, warpping my legs around his waist and placing his palms under my thighs. I draped my good arm around his neck to support myself while he spoke to the doctor for a final time, taking something from him and walking out. The second we left the room, we were hounded by questions from friends who were waiting outside. All the noise made my head pound even more. I cringed at the noise and used my good arm to cover my ear. Baron hushed them immeditely which dulled the loud noise into a low humming. He muttered a brief explaination of my injuries before saying goodbye, heading further down the hall and leaving the show early. “All of our stuff is already in the car.” he whispered. I hummed in response, not really caring.                                                                                            “Don’t worry baby, we are heading right to the hotel so you can go to bed.” he reassured. I nodded and pressed a kiss into his neck as my way of thanking him for caring. We reached the car and Baron slide me into the passenger seat. Quickly, he hurried over to the drivers seat. He turned on the car, muted the radio, and started to drive away.  I curled into a ball in the seat, leaning on my good shoulder. Baron placed a hand on top mine, rubbing circles on the back of my hand.                                                                                     “Hey babe?” I mumbled.                                                                                       “Yeah hun?”                                                                                                         “Thank you for being with me during that. I couldn’t do that without you. I love you and really, truely appreciate you.” I blushed, not making eye contact.             “No need to thank me, I’d do anything for you. I love you even more baby.”he picked up my hand and placed a kiss on my palm. I interlocked our fingers and pulled our hands into my chest. I cuddled into the seat and still holding his hand close to me.                                                                                         “Try to get some sleep sweetheart, the hotel is kinda far.” Baron suggested. I just nodded in reply, nuzzling my cheek into his hand. I closed my eyes as the noise faded out.                                                                                           When I woke up, I was no longer in the car but cuddled up into a pair of strong arms. Begrudingly, I pried my eyes open and was met with a flurencent aray of colors inked onto sking. I nuzzled my nose into Baron’s bicep to signal to him that I was awake.                                                                                                “Oh look who’s awake from their nap.” he teased. “How ya feeling sunshine?” he asked, smiling down at me.                                                                     “Hmm fine. I’m kinda sore. Where are we?” I mumbeld, sleepily.                         “ Walking to our hotel room. So, do you want to eat? Shower? Or just head straight to bed?” he asked.                                                                                    “Eat and shower. Do you have anything to help my pain?” I asked, the pain in my head rapidly returning.                                                                                    “Yeah, the doctor gave me some medicinefor you to take.” I nodded in response. He arrived at the door and walked inside. He placed me on the couch so he could dig through his pockets to find the medicine the doctor gave me. He pulled out the perscription and went to grab a glass of water. He walked back into the living room, handing me a pill and the water. I took the medicine and leaned back into the couch. “Do you wanna show or eat dinner first?” he asked, sitting down on the couch next to me.                                                 “Can we shower first? I feel kinda gross from my match.” I explained, gesturing to my body still dressed in sweaty ring gear from tonight.                               “We?” he smirked, wiggling his eyebrows at me. I laughed lightly at him.           “Yes, you dork. I can’t exactly move my shoulder and someone is goona have to help me wash my hair.” I playfully rolled my eyes at him, nudging him.             “It would be an honor to wash your hair babe.” he spoke in a posh accent, scooping me up off the couch. I laughed as he carried me toward the bathroom. He dimmed the bright lights so the strong light wouldn’t hurt my head anymore. He placed my feet on the floor then leaned in and turned the shower on. I started to pull my gross ring gear off. Once I reached my top, I struggled. “You need some help there?” Baron asked in amusement as he yanked his shirt over his head. I mumbled in agreement, annoyed at my helplessness. Gently, he pulled the strap of my injuried shoulder and slid it up over my head. He stripped of his remaining clothes and we entered the shower. He wet my hair and slowly lathered shampoo into my hair. I leaned against him and sighed in relaxation. We finished our shower about ten minutes later and went in the bedroom to change in pajamas. Once again, Baron had to help me change, slowly pulling a shirt over my sore shoulder. Baron threw on a pair of lose fitting sweatpants and went to order dinner. I contiuned to change and brush my hair then shuffled into the living room to meet him. I layed next to him on the couch, placing my head in his lap. “Wait hold up, babe. I’ll be right back.” he said, leaning down and kissing my forehead. Baron returned carrying a bag of ice anad replaced my head on his lap. He softly pressed the ice to my shoulder.                                                              “You’re an angel.” I murmmed in bliss as he ran a hand through my hair. The ice cooled the flaming pain in my shoulder and his hand through my hair ceased the pain in my head. I was in awe of how fantastic my boyfriend was. He let out a deep chuckle and responsed to my comment.                                          “Thanks but it’s only for you princess, only you.” I smiled up at him, he wasn’t wrong. Baron had a reputation of big bad guy with a bad attitude. In reality, Baron was a giant teddy bear to me. He just had very high walls that were hard to climb. Our relationship took a long time to get it to the point it was today but it was worth every second. He was such a loving, gentle, and caring man to me and those he loved. Baron just had a hard exterior and was often misjudged. I sat up and pressed a soft kiss to his lips.                                                  “I love you Baron.”I whispered to him after I pulled away.                                    “I love you even more baby.” he replied, placing his hands on my hips. Our intimate moment was broken up by a knocking on the hotel door. We both jumped then quietly laughed at each others reaction. “Dinner’s here” he laughed with a grin. I slide away so he could answer the door. I got up to help with dinner but he insisted her didn’t need any help. I sank back into the couch as he made his way back over. He handed me a plate and sat next to me once more. I snuggled into his side as he wrapped his strong arm around my waist.            “Thanks honey.” I said as I took a bite of my dinner.                                            “Anytime. How’s your pain holding up?” he asked, taking another bite.                “Not too bad right now since the medicine is kicking in.”                                       “Good. I hate seeing you in pain. You gave me quiet the scare back there.” he told me, tightening his grip on my waist.                                                          “I’m sorry baby.”I replied, turning my head and pressing a kiss on his bare shoulder.                                                                                                                  “I didn’t believe it at first, I thought you were just super selling a move. Then, you didn’t move and I freaked out. It took half  the locker room to hold me back from running into that ring. I was yelling and screaming, just trying to make sure you were alive. The second that gurney came back through the curtain, I was there. I couldn’t stop freaking out until you woke up, I was just losing my mind.” Baron confessed, leaning his head against the crook of my neck.                                                                                                                                “I’m sorry that you had to experience all of that because of me. I never meant to scare you like that. I-I-I’m just so sorry.” I told him, shocked at his words. Baron never really got deep with his true emotions unless he was really overwhelmed or worried. The fact that my one little injury got him so worried was rather shocking and a bit heartwarming that he cared so much.                             “It’s alright, well, it is now that you are okay babygirl. You just had me really worried there. I know I don’t tell you often but you mean the world to me. I’m not quite sure what I’d do without you darling.” he trailed off, kissing the top of my head.                                                                                                                    “I can’t even tell you how much you mean to me, Bar. I love you more than words can describe.” I confessed to my boyfriend.                                                “I love you to the moon and back baby. Now, let’s head to bed. You’ve had a long day.” he suggested. I nodded in agreement as we stood up off the comfy couch. We threw our trash in the garbage can, then made our way to the bedroom. Baron opened the door and gestured me in ahead of him. I trotted into the room and got myself ready for bed. Baron slide under the covers and laid on the mattress. I went to slide next to him but he quickly pulled me into him. He brought me right against his side , holding me close to his chest. I snuggled up into his embrace, ready to fall asleep.                                   “Goodnight Baron, I love you.”                                                                              “Goodnight babygirl, I love you even more.”

Hancock reacts to finding out Sole adopted two baby girls when he’s about to confess his love for Sole

SO THESE GOT OUT OF HAND. They’re all pretty much small oneshots. Cause I presume nobody wants to reblog a MASSIVE block of text which is essentially just a collection of small oneshots I decided to do it like this for those which got particularly long.

This ask was sent to me as a personal message, the person asking chose to remain anonymous. Thank you for the ask!

Sole is a very reserved and reticent woman who, instead of losing her child to the Institute, lost her younger sibling who was her only family. She never had children and never showed audible interest in having children. Anyway, *insert companion* loves her very much, but hasn’t told her yet. After a long separation from the Sole, they’ve decided they can no longer keep their feeling to themselves and go to tell her. When they visit Sole though, they find out that she’s adopted children. Two adorable one year old girls that she intends to raise as her own. She clearly love these girls very much too. How do the companions react? Are they deterred at all? (You can add gifs if you want.)

Sole opened the door, to find a very familiar face standing in the doorway. Their eyes widened, not sure how to handle the situation at all. They’d thought about finding them again… but it wasn’t that easy. Not considering the state the Commonwealth was in, not considering the little ones and not considering all that was left unsaid.
“ It’s been a while. What brings you here? ” Hancock breathed in, a smile set on his face, time to finally get it all out  “I…”
A baby started crying inside the house, Sole’s eyes widened. “ Damnit, I have to go back, feel free to come in though.” Hancock walked into the house, a little bit dazed. He saw Sole standing there, baby in arms, trying to soothe the child. It seemed to work when another one started crying in unison, awoken and spurred on by the cries. Sole seemed to be rather experienced at it as the child in her arms already seemed calmer, clinging onto Sole’s shirt.

Sole scraped her throat. “ So… I guess I’ll be the first one to get you caught up on what happened. These two… they’re my children. Not biologically of course but they’re my children in every other way. I adopted them about a month ago.” She kissed the top of the child in their arms’ head while looking lovingly in at the child in the arms of their old companion. “ So… guess I’m a parent now. Surprise! Now I presume you have some news of your own?”

Hancock smiled, looking at Sole who seemed both beaming and grounded somehow. Like they found a home with those babies. He leaned against the doorpost, arms folded but head tilted. He never picture them as a parent, but it seemed natural to them somehow. Sole looked exhausted but… happy.

“ You came to find me just to keep staring at me?”
“ Admiring the view. You look happy.”
“ I am. In a way. The world’s still messed up and I now have two kids to safeguard from whatever’s coming for us next but… there’s this whole parenthood thing. I wasn’t sure I wanted it at first. It’s hard work, sleepless nights, but it feels right.”
“ Congrats.. I’ve been chasing that feeling for my entire life and the closest thing I got to it was through jet and shootin’ up the commonwealth with you.”
Sole laughed, rocking her baby. “It’s hardly shooting it up at random, you’re too moral for that.”
“ Auch, morals? Don’t let the rest of Goodneighbour hear ya. They’ll depose me.” She laughed and walked over to Hancock.
“You’re a big softy beaf jerky. Although I never saw you as a family man. More the handsome rogue.” Her baby reached out to his face, seemingly fascinated. He reached with a finger for her tiny hand.
“ She takes after you already, not running away screaming from the rotting man in the period clothing. That, or she’s got one hell of a fashion sense already.”
“ Babies like interesting faces, not beautiful ones.”
“ Watch it, second insult.”
“ They do though. Do you want to hold her?”  He looked at the child.
“ She’ll wake up the other one, start to cry her lungs out when the zombie man is holding her. Nighmares for days. You don’t wanna do that.” She handed the child over to him regardless, intending to show him how to hold her but that appeared unnecessary. “I’m a mayor, Sole.”
He held her perfectly, supporting her little head. She reached for his face, eyes wide open.
“ She still likes ya. “ The other baby started to make noises, Sole walked back over to the crib and picked up her second daughter. She, in turn, also stared at Hancock. “Damn Hancock, you sure have an effect on my girls. Last time they look at something this fascinated it was a jangles the moon monkey.”
“ Well that shit’s about as terrifying as it gets. “ Sole nodded. “ Fair point.”

Hancock started making some noises at the baby when Sole scraped their throat. “Hancock… “ he looked up.
“ I was wondering what brought you here? I presume you didn’t come here for a baby visit? ”
“ I didn’t, ya never seize to surprise gorgeous.”
“ So why did you come here? Demon spawn terrorising Goodneighbour? ”
“ Because I want to spend a lifetime with you. This lifetime. “ The little girl started to make a noise. “Didn’t forget about ya, there’s enough room in my life for all three of ya. But it’s your mom/dad that I want to date though if that’s cool with you.“ Sole looked at him with a hint of sadness, for the first time.
“ Not the hoped for reply, forget I said that. It’s fine if you don’t feel the same. We can just continue where we left off.”
“ No… no it’s not that I don’t feel the same. Fucking hell I did. I do. But I’m not sure if murder central is the right place to raise these two.”
“ No questions about my parenting skills?”
“ No. About the jet, yes.”
“ I’ll quit it, I’ve got a new high. Seeing you like this. Damnit, it does something with me. “
“ Cheesy.” He shrugged.
“ I’m a lotta things but not an idiot. I know a good thing when I see it and I want in, if you’ll have me. “
“ Doesn’t make goodneigbour any safer.”
“ I’ll guard these kids with my life, they’ll treated like royalty. Guard at every corner. Me to wake up in the middle of the night when they decide it’s time to test whether they have rock star potential by having a good cry.”
“ That does sound tempting.”
“ Bonus; I’ll be happy to guard your body personally. Day and night.” He winked at Sole. “What do you say?”
Sole laughed. “ I suppose we can give it a go.” He high fived the baby very lightly by pressing his hand against the kid’s palm and started speaking to her. “ Hey kiddo, I’m your daddy now!”

“Aaron should be home soon, right?”

Robert felt like the walls were closing in on him.

He wasn’t used to this.

He was used to be in control.

In check of his feelings.

Knowing what to do.

Seeing a way out.

But right now all he saw was a gun pointed at him and all he felt was the rope around his wrists and ankles, tieing him to the chair he was sitting on.

“Leave him out of this,” Robert croaked, “he got nothing to do with this.”

He swallowed hard, feeling his breathing go heavier and heavier while he watched her walk around their living room, gun always pointed at him though.

It made him feel sick, seeing her in the Mill, their home.

“Oh, Robert,” she said sweetly and stopped right in front of him. “He got everything to do with this. If it weren’t for him we would be a family now. You, me and James.”

“He’s not even mine,” Robert said.

“So what?” Rebecca screeched. “You would have loved him, would have taken him on as your own. I know it.”

“Bex,” Robert said, trying the best to make his voice sound soft, to reason with her. “I hardly wanted him when I thought he was mine.”

“Noo,” she screamed, sounding even more hysteric now. “Enough, shut up now. We are gonna be quiet and wait now. Wait till Aaron gets here.”

Robert was scared, he was more scared than he ever was in his life. He didn’t know what she had planned, what she wanted to happen. Would she kill Aaron and make him watch? Would she kill him?

He immediately knew which option he’d prefer.

The minutes stretched on forever.

Robert watched Rebecca like a hawk. He wondered how he didn’t see it before, that she was losing it. Or had she been like this all the time? She didn’t look that different actually, her hair up in some complicated braid, her clothes colorful and flowing around her figure.

She had surprised him, had lingered behind the door when he walked in and had hit him over the head with the gun. When he came to he had been tied to this chair and she had started talking about how much she loved him.

He heard Aaron’s car pull up, the cut off of the engine and his steps on the grovel towards the house.

“Here we go,” Rebecca said and her smile was manic.

She positioned herself right in front of the door, gun pointed straight ahead.

Robert saw the door open but didn’t see Aaron.

“Hello, Aaron,” Rebecca said.

“Where’s Robert?” he asked immediately and Robert thought his chest would explode.

“Don’t be scared, I’m right here,” Robert said out loud.

“Quiet you,” Rebecca said, “I need to talk to your husband.” She spat the last word and gestured with the gun for Aaron to move.

He came in view as Rebecca directed him to the sofa, away from Robert who was sitting on a chair right next to the staircase.

“Tell me, Aaron,” she said, sitting down opposite him. Aaron was tense and scared, Robert could see it. And seeing Aaron like that made his brain kick in again, he needed a way to get out of this ropes and get that gun away from Rebecca.

“Tell you what?” Aaron asked.

“Why you?” she asked, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “I mean, look at you. A mechanic with a tendency to fuck up, to push away everybody around you. You broke up with him, for God’s sake, how stupid are you? What does he see in you?”

Aaron bit his lip hard. “Why don’t you ask him?”

“I did,” Rebecca said. “Said he loves you. Which is funny, isn’t it? Because I remember him telling me how weak you are. “

“Aaron,” Robert started, his voice sounded devastated.

“Don’t,” Aaron said sharply. “It’s okay, it’s what she wants.”

Rebecca laughed and it cut through Robert like a knife.

“I am the one who loves him,” Rebecca said, her voice high and shrill. “Me, not you. I always saw him for who he was. I always loved all of him, every part of him, even bad parts, even the mean and vile ones. You? You chuck him out at the first sign of trouble.”

And all of a sudden Robert knew. He knew exactly what he had to do.

“That’s true,” he said and Aaron and Rebecca both whirled around to him.

“I never saw it like that,” he continued. “But you are right, Rebecca. I was blind. You are clearly the right person for me. Sorry, Aaron.”

Rebecca’s face lit up like a thousand Christmas trees and Aaron looked more than confused.

“Remember our fight last week, Aaron?” Robert said and hoped he would catch on. There had been no fight last week. “You got so mad at me for defending her, called me a /liar/.”

“Yeah, yeah,” Aaron said. “I remember. So this is it, you have finally made your choice?”

“Yes,” Robert said sternly and had to look away from Aaron to Rebecca. “Come on, Bex, let Aaron go and untie me so we can finally be together.”

All it took was a second, a second where Rebecca lowered her gun and Aaron was on her. He jumped and pushed her to the ground, got a hold of the gun and pointed it at her this time, hands shaking.

Rebecca didn’t stop, though, she searched up and tackled Aaron. He reacted on instinct, pushed her away hard and she fell, head hitting the table and landing on the ground, lying unconscious.

“Shit, shit, shit,” Aaron stammered, letting the gun drop.

“Check her pulse,” Robert said immediately.

Aaron did, with shaking fingers and breathed a sigh of relief.

“Okay,” Robert said, trying very much to stay calm. “Call the ambulance and the police and then untie me.”

It took a while for the ambulance to check Rebecca and taker her with them, handcuffed to the gurney, and for the police to take their statements. Finally everybody left and Aaron had accompanied them outside.

When he came back he settled down next to Robert on the sofa.

“Let me see,” Aaron said softly and reached for Robert’s wrists.

“It’s fine,” he said, but Aaron pushed his sleeves up, examined his wrists.

“I’ll be right back,” Aaron said and got up.

He was back in a flash, or maybe it took longer, Robert didn’t know. He felt tired and exhausted and a crushing feeling of guilt weighing him down.

Aaron took his left wrist back in his hand and he felt something cool, something soothing, and he saw that Aaron applied cream to the sore spots the rope had left on his arms.

“Thank you,” he said, leaning his head against Aaron’s shoulder.

“Aaron,” he said after a bit.

“Hm?” he asked.

“You know, what I said earlier….,” he started.

“Of course,” Aaron said, switching to Robert’s right wrist now. “I know.”

“Thank you,” Robert said quietly, “for sticking with me and all my vile bits.”

The words from what Rebecca has said still weighing heavily on him.

“Listen,” Aaron said. “She has no idea who you are. None, okay?”

“Okay,” Robert said but didn’t sound convinced.

“I love you, all of you, forever,” Aaron said and sat the cream back on the table before he wrapped his arms around him, pulling him closer.

Hi can I request 53: “ It’s lonely here without you but maybe you and Luke are away from each and your talking on the phone before bed I just really need some fluff you can write it however you think do ya thing girl I believe in you lol

Awwh I love this idea and prompt! Thanks for asking <3 (Just in case anyone was wondering the title translates into ‘I miss you’.)

Te echo de menos

Fandom: Criminal Minds
Pairing: Luke Alvez x Reader
Prompt: “It’s lonely here without you.”

Luke sighed heavily as he hit the stiff pillow in frustration. As a former ranger, he was used to sleeping in not so comfy positions. But, in his opinion, some of the hotels the BAU had to stay in could be even worse than the Iraqi desert.

There was no chance of him getting any decent sleep tonight.

He couldn’t blame it all on the uncomfortable bed though. The cold, crisp sheets prickled against his skin causing him to shiver slightly. He turned on his side to glance miserably at the empty spot beside him.

He missed you. He missed you terribly.

It was almost a subconscious act as he reached out to pick up his mobile phone, his fingers quickly typing in your name. He just wanted to see your face, hear your voice.

It was strange. He never would have imagined himself as the type to call his girlfriend in the middle of the night just because he missed her. In fact, he couldn’t remember a time when he had felt this way about anyone. In the army, he had gone weeks, sometimes months, without having the chance to speak to his loved ones. He should be used to it.

But, you were his weakness.

He ran a hand through his dark curls exasperatedly as his phone rang out, starting to regret his decision. After all, it would be pretty late back at home. You were probably asleep.  He cursed silently, telling himself that he was a needy and pathetic mess.

But a wide grin spread across his face as his call connected, your face finally gracing his screen. He ran his thumb across the image as if he would be able to lovingly caress your face through the screen.

“Hey.” He greeted, smiling softly as your bright eyes met his, the dazzling colours managing to shine through the blurry video.

“Hey.” You murmured softly, your voice thick with sleep as you shuffled around in the bed covers. He couldn’t help but bit back a smirk as the strap on your skimpy pyjama top slipped to expose your skin. God, he really missed you.

He wished for nothing more than to be in bed beside you, wrapping his arms around your waist as he peppered your neck with eager kisses, blazing a searing trail downwards, hearing you moan softly, grinding under him as your hands gripped the bedsheets in pleasure-

“What’s up?” You asked quietly, rubbing your eyes in an effort to wake yourself up. It wasn’t often Luke called you this late when he was away on a case, so you were worried something was wrong.

Luke almost jumped at the sound of your voice, momentarily forgetting that you were on the other end of the line as his thoughts ran wild with fantasies about having you in bed beside him. He contained a laugh at your bewildered expression, noting how cute your nose looked when you scrunched it up in confusion.

“Nothing. I- I just missed you.” Luke admitted quietly, guilt beginning to flood him as he noticed the exhaustion in your eyes. He had woken you up. “I’m sorry it’s so late.”

His embarrassed apology made you smile softly.

“It’s fine.” You told him sincerely, grinning as he let out a sigh of relief. “Are you okay?” You asked, shooting him a concerned gaze as you took in his dishevelled appearance. He looked tired. His untrimmed stubble framed his face and his dark curls were tousled as he flopped back into the pillows.

He shrugged, twisting his hands in the unwelcoming bedsheets beside him, before lifting his gaze to meet your sympathetic eyes.

“It’s just been a difficult case.” He explained quietly, restraining himself from grimacing at the thought of the grisly murders the BAU were attempting to solve.

Ever since the two of you had started dating, he had found cases involving young female victims harder to handle. It particularly disturbed him if they reminded him of you. Perhaps that was the reason he had called you tonight – he just wanted to know you were safe.

He cleared his throat, refusing himself to be clouded by his emotions. It was the last thing either of you needed when you were miles away from each other.

“Plus, it’s lonely here without you.” He grinned cheekily at you, chuckling softly as you blushed furiously at his suggestive tone. He found it adorable how you still got flustered around him. He just couldn’t resist teasing you.

“I can’t really say the same.” You replied coolly, finally composing yourself as a slight smirk played on your lips. Luke’s brow furrowed in confusion at your words, wondering who on earth was keeping you company in bed.

Before he had the chance to voice his concerns, you adjusted the camera to reveal a snoozing Roxy lying snugly beside you.

He barked with laughter as he watched his beloved dog sleeping soundly, curled up comfortably in the bedsheets as she snored softly.

“Are you trying to tell me that while I’m freezing cold alone in bed, my own dog has replaced me as your personal bedwarmer?” He raised his eyebrows in mock outrage at the revelation. But he couldn’t contain the bright grin spreading across his face as he observed the sweet scene.

It made him feel a lot better to know you had company. He always worried slightly about leaving you home alone when he was away on a case – after all, how many cases had the BAU worked on regarding home invasions? – so, it reassured him to see the faithful canine by your side. Roxy had always been protective of you, even more so when she knew Luke wasn’t around.

“Well, if it makes you feel any better we both miss you.”

The sound of your soft laughter made his heart flutter. He smiled lovingly as he watched you attempt to stifle a yawn.

“You can’t hide your tiredness from a profiler babe, go to sleep.” He told you teasingly, chuckling warmly at the defiant shake your head. Apparently, you were determined to keep him company. “Honestly, I’m fine now I’ve seen my two favourite girls.” He flashed you a dazzlingly smile as he shuffled further into the pillows, finally relaxing.

“You sure?” You murmured, yawning loudly as your eyes began to droop with exhaustion.

“Of course. Sweet dreams.” He told you quietly, smiling softly as he saw your eyes flutter shut. “I love you.”

The only response he received was your soft breathing and Roxy’s gentle snores. But, that was all he needed as he finally ended the call.

It was almost as if he could feel your warmth beside him as he draped an arm over the spare pillow, before falling asleep with a smile on his face at the thought of being reunited with you.

Insomniac - a Ten Years On fic

So, the lovely @bosstoaster (You’ve read all of her fics, right? No? Go on, I’ll wait.) responded to this prompt:

The result is the fic Come Back (as pure as gold) which, if you haven’t read, wtf are you even doing with your life? Go do that immediately.

I loved the shit out of this fic, and I asked BT if I could play in her sandbox. She is a gracious and kind overlord, and she said yes! So, I wrote a thing. I may write more things. We’ll see what happens!

Rating: Teen

Characters: Shiro, Pidge, Green Lion

Warnings: Insomnia, mild dissociation, discussions of age appropriateness and lack thereof, Pidge being Pidge.

Wandering the hallways while the others slept, Shiro honestly didn’t know whether the familiarity was a blessing or a curse. It was a little eerie, especially when he was so tired– He almost expected to wake up and find that it’d all been a dream. His reality had begun to blur at the edges yet again, and every time he closed his eyes he feared he’d open them to find some fresh hell awaiting him, dreaded being told he’d lost even more time.

A year and change to the Galra.

A crash landing and an isolation ward on Earth.

Four kids and the fate of the universe in their hands, a legend come to life. Voltron. A few months that felt like a lifetime.

A battle, a victory, a void.

Ten years.

Ten years.

Some part of Shiro told him he was being irrational, or at least impractical; he couldn’t avoid sleep forever. He’d already succumbed a few times since his return, and nothing more had changed between sleeping and waking. Knowing that didn’t lessen his fear at all. He’d had no reason to expect to lose so much any of the other times things had gone sideways, either.

Even when he could force his waking mind to believe he’d be okay, Shiro’s dreams kept him from getting anything like truly restful sleep. He’d thought the nightmares of the arena were bad, and they were. But now they stacked with visions of waking to find his friends, his family aged far beyond him. He dreamt of their bones turned to dust while he lived on with no anchor but the Black Lion.

guardian - part 1

Pairing: prince! choi seungcheol x reader

Summary: “Your job is protect me, who says I can’t do the same?”

Part: 1/?

“Looks like you’re finally going to lose to me today,” The prince taunts with a smirk.

“Don’t make me laugh, Seungcheol. That’s all in your head,” I say as we walk around on the mat, staring each other down.

“You’re hurting my pride, lovebug.”

“What can you do?” I shrug and he laughs.

“That’s why I like you, my dear bodyguard.”

“My dear prince, get ready to get your butt served on a silver plate.”

“WOULD YOU TWO JUST FIGHT ALREADY? STOP WITH THE FLIRTING!” A maid yells, making everyone laugh. I roll my eyes as the butler blows a whistle. Seungcheol and I lunge at each other, already fighting for dominance. I growl as I curl my hands into fists, trying to get a hit on him.

“Why would you dare hurt your prince?”

“When will you ever stop flirting with me? We’re in the middle of a match for crying out loud, Seungcheol.”

“Never, I love seeing your tsundere side,” He teases.

“Shut up,” I say and he laughs as we continue to struggle for power. We roll around a few times before he’s sitting on top of me. I groan as he holds me there for a few minutes, making the whistle go off. Seungcheol stands up and cheers, running around the court to show his victory. I chuckle as I stand up and dust myself off.

“Looks like I win today!” He smiles, coming back to me.

“Just wait for tomorrow when I’ll be the one celebrating my victory.”

“I can’t wait.”

I scoff and nod before bowing to the queen and king. They acknowledge me and turn away to tend to other matters. Seungcheol nudges my side and I turn to him.

“What do I get in return for winning? A hug? A kiss? What should I ask for, hm?” He teases me. I scoff, putting my hand on his mouth.

“Nothing. I just let you let you win, so that you can get your pride back,” I say and the prince whines. I drop my hand and follow after him when he’s instructed to get changed. I sigh, mumbling to myself about strategies. “It looks like I still have more training to do.”

A hand touches my own, making me look up at the person. Seungcheol wears a smile and squeezes my hand. “You’re already the best, don’t overwork yourself when you don’t need to be.”

I scoff, turning away. “I know I’m the best, why do you think I’m doubting myself now?”

He chuckles and nods, averting his attention back to the front. I silently curse myself for blushing at the slightest comment from him. I huff and cross my arms.

I lean against the doorframe of his room as I wait for him to change. He comes out with a big smile, pointing at me and dancing. I groan, covering my eyes. He laughs and pulls them away, continuing to dance for me.

“Why are you such an embarrassing dad, Seungcheol?”

“Hey, that was a great dance.”

“It was not, are you ready yet?” I ask and he nods, gesturing down to his outfit. I move away from the doorframe and close the door when the prince goes to lay down in his bed. I sit down in his chair, crossing my arms and legs.

“Being king’s going to be so exhausted, but at least I’ll have you by my side,” Seungcheol says, smiling at me.

“That is if I continue working as your bodyguard. Who says I want to?”

“Ah, stop being a tease. You know you love me too much to leave.”

“I suppose you’re right.”

“Of course, I’m right.” He laughs and points at me. I groan and turn away. “You can’t deny it, lovebug.”

“Seungcheol, don’t you have duties to tend to?”

“No, my only duty now is to tease you until you’re squirming in your chair.”

“I hate you.”

“Oh please, you adore me.”

“But do I really?” I ask and he sits up, waving me over. I sigh and walk to him, staring down at him. He wears a sweet smile before wrapping his arms around me, bringing me with him onto the bed.

“I can see the adoration in your eyes, lovebug.”

“You’re mistaken, Seungcheol. I don’t-”

“You’re such a tsundere.”

You can change whatever you did too!

Warnings: Death? Sad sad sad! Oh and you get dumped in a boat..

**= flashbacks

The cries of anguish and war rang all around you. You were never supposed to be here..

*”My darling, you can’t go out there. Word from nearby barricades gave word that their armies are too strong. You get hurt or killed even. Please Marius, you cannot go out there,” you usually weren’t this.. weak, but, you couldn’t help but beg. If Marius left he would be killed in the storm of bullets.

“My love, I must go. I can’t leave my brothers to die,” he pleads.

“What are you even saying? We can run. We can run as far as we need to as long as it means you’re safe. I’d run to the ends of the earth for you.”

“I know my darling.. which is why you must run for the both of us.” “What do you mean?” “(Y/n), you must leave. You cannot stay here for me to only be captured and taken with those barbarians.”

You were struck to the core as if he shot you with his words. “You cannot possibly be asking me to leave you. No. I know you’re not. You know I’d never go.”

He looked down at his feet and gave a chuckle. “I know you’d never leave me.. which is why I had to do what I had to do.” “I don’t understand Mar..” you were so confused. What could he possibly have done?

As if some force heard you’re thoughts, your love pulled you close and kissed you with everything he had. Emotion and passion poured from his touch, almost as if saying goodbye… oh no.

You suddenly felt yourself being ripped from your beloved. “What’s going on? Marius?” “I’m sorry, my darling. This is because I love you. Never forget that.”

Enjolras dragged you away as Marius averted his eyes, trying not to focus on your screams to let you go, back to your love. Your so called ‘best friend’ placed you on horse and rode you to the docks. He dropped you in a small ship hugging the fences. “Enjolras!” You were most definitely enraged.

“I’m sorry, my dear. I’ve done this by Marius’ request. A man by the name of Pollox will meet you where you dock. He’ll give you food, shelter, money. You’ll be well looked after.. goodbye, my friend. I hope we will one day meet again.”

At these words, Enjolras hurried back to his post. The jolting of the ship brought you back to reality. You leaped from the boat into murky water below. Swimming back to shore, you climbed the fence and sprinted back to the barricade.*

Here you were now. Dripping wet and frantically searching for your beloved. Guns were blazing and yells were released all around you. Chaos. Sadness. Strife. The air was thick with smoke and the smell of blood. You coughed and stumbled behind the barricade just in time to see Marius getting shot in the leg.

“MARIUS!” You tried to climb to reach him, but, Courfeyrac pulled you back as Marius was taken.

“Are you crazy?? You can’t go out there!” “LET GO ! I have to get to Marius!” “IT’S TOO LATE! ..it’s too late.” He embraced you in the middle of the gunfire. “It’s too late..”

You cried for the loss of your lover. You’re rock. You’re best friend.

6 months later:

You were walking down the street that once held that forsaken barricade. The past six months were hell for you. After the death of Marius, you tried to move. Start a new life. You moved in with Enjolras, one of the few barricade survivors, so you wouldn’t be alone. It wasn’t romantic at all, just two friends moving on with the loss of their brothers in arms. Renovations and repairs were almost finished, marking the half year point past that dreadful night. You were on your way home from visiting Courfeyrac and Govroche when a young man caught your eye. Usually, you would pay no mind to handsome stranger walking the streets, but, him.. he seemed almost.. familiar.

He slowly turned around and you gasped, tears wetting your eyes. You couldn’t speak. You couldn’t breathe. After all this time..

You fell to your knees in the dirty street, sobbing for the time spent without him. The man turned his line of sight, gaze landing on you. The crying woman in the street. You blinked up at him in awe, not caring about the stares directed towards you.

“(Y/n),” he whispered. That voice. It was the voice of a fallen angel. One you thought would never grace your ears again.

“M-Marius.” He collapsed next to you, enveloping you in a warm embrace and dug his face in your neck, crying into you.

“My darling. I found you.”

2 hours later:

When the tears faltered and you were safe in the comfort of home, Marius explained to you what happened.

“They took me, (y/n). Those scoundrels took me behind their lines. They bound my wounds. I would have told them to kill me, but, that would mean I couldn’t see you again. I fought tooth and nail and snuck myself away from their camp. It took forever to get back here, (y/n), but I made it. I got here for you, my love.”

You finally realized how exhausted he looked. “Come. We can catch up in the morning. Right now you must rest.”

He changed into fresh clothes and you took him to your room. Tucking him in you kissed his forehead, lingering a bit longer than needed. He closed his eyes, relishing the feeling of being back. Being with you. Being home.

“(Y/n)?” “Yes, Marius?” He patted the side of the bed.

“Will you stay with me? Just until I fall asleep?” “Of course.”

You settled next to him, overjoyed to be in the arms of the one you love again. You didn’t think you’d see this day. He came when you were getting ready to say goodbye.

“I love you,” he whispered in your ear.

“I love you too, my soldier,” you replied, safe in the arms of Marius Pontmercy.

Blue Kryptonite - Karamel One Shot

“So, Rhonda broke her arm and Kevin has the flu, and they asked me to replace them for three days, thai means working from 10 to 12, lunch, then 1 to either midnight or 2 am.. but I don’t know if I should, like there’s a lot of dangerous aliens outside, and I want to help you!”
“Mon-El, I’m not by myself, Alex, J'onn and even James can help me, you should go, I mean if it’s not too exhausting for you.”
“Hey! I’m a superhero! I can handle some extra turns, blondie.”
“Oh right, mr. Valor.” He held Kara in his arms, swinging a little.
“I like when you say it.”
“Yeah.” She kissed him quickly, “Anyway I’m gonna go now, my bartender duties are calling.”
He kissed her cheek and ran out the door. Kara sighed, she’s gonna miss her partner a lot. But of course she was Supergirl, she wouldn’t stop at home sighing and boring herself to death; Kara decided to write a few articles about the fire that Supergirl stopped the day before, and the newborn child that Valor saved in that burning apartment. She wrote a good amount until the DEO called her in: she explained to J'onn why Mon-El couldn’t come so he told Pam to note that for his paycheck. “Hey, sissy!”
“Hey, Kara! Is everything okay?”
“Yeah, sure, why did you ask?”
“First, you never call me ‘Sissy’, second, you’re crinkling right now.”
“I’m no-” she touched her forehead “-damn it!”
“Spill whatever is going on in your mind.”
“It’s..probably silly..but I’m afraid I’ll miss Mon-El too much these days..it’s the first time we’re separating since he’s moved in with me, and I’m used to having him around all day..don’t laugh, please!” Kara pouted and Alex smiled back at her.
“I won’t laugh, Maggie completely changed my idea of 'too silly or too cheesy’. Just prepare something for when he comes home, or just keep yourself busy and you won’t even realize that three days have passed.”
“Mmh, okay..I’ll find something. Thanks, Alex.”
“Did you find the restaurant for the reception?”
“Kara, I think it’s too soon for this conversation, we got engaged just a few months ago!”
“Hey! I’m your MAID OF HONOR! I need everything to be perfect.” Kara crossed her arms on her chest.
“Yeah, yeah, you’re way more invested than I am.” The two girls started laughing, until Winn called them, there was an emergency near the mall.

As soon as Kara walked home, she dropped herself on the couch, tired like never before: she checked her phone, finding a text from his boyfriend: 'I miss you already..xx" She smiled at the screen, 'I miss you too, you have no idea.’
Kara started cooking Mon-El’s favourite meal, waiting for him to come home, and maybe watch something together and cuddle. Another beep rang in the room, about 30 minutes later, Mon-El wrote 'Babe I don’t think I can make it for dinner, I’m so so sorry..’
'It’s okay, we’ll see each other after dinner then. :)’
She was upset, but she was the one who told him to work extra turns: since Mon-El worked at the alien bar, she saw a new side of him, more responsible and mature, she found that really attractive, but most of all, Kara was proud of who he’d become. She ate both his dish and hers, yet she was somehow hungry: she picked a rom-com to watch on Netflix in the meantime. The movie was called Serendipity, and it was about two people who were meant to be together, because it was written in their destinies: when the two lovers found each other after years, she started crying, “It’s not that emotional!” but she kept sobbing until she fell asleep on the couch.
Mon-El walked home around 2 am, he found his lover hugging a pillow, deep into her slumber; smiling, he picked her up bridal-style and laid her down under the blankets, before kissing her forehead goodnight. Mon-El changed into his pyjama and fell asleep hugging his little spoon.

'good morning beautiful, I’m so sorry I came home at 2 am last night, I made you hashbrowns, if they’re too cold, just do your trick :) i love you - mon-el’
Kara found the post-it on the table, next to her plate: she heated up the hashbrowns and sighed, sipping her coffee. She was at CatCo for the whole morning, trying to focus on her articles only. She decided to stop by the alien bar for lunch.
“Kara, hey! I didn’t expect to see you.” Mon-El leaned over to kiss her, “how are you?” he was cleaning a few glasses.
“I was missing you a little too much, I guess. Did you have lunch already? I brought sandwiches.”
“I was just about to, thank you.” She grinned widely at her man.
“Nothing, you’re just really cute.” Kara bit her sandwich, “Can’t I admire my boyfriend? ”
“Of course you can. I saw you fell asleep with the tv on, what did you watch?”
“Oh, I watched a beautiful movie, it’s called Serendipity and you really need to watch it! It’s about a boy and a girl meeting in a shop, leaving their numbers on a book and a– basically she thinks that if they’re meant to be together, they’ll meet again and– oh no.” She was already tearing up at the thought of that ending when her earcom started beeping. “Alex, what’s wrong? Oh okay, I’m on my way.”
“They need Supergirl, don’t they?”
“Yuuuup..I’ll see you later.” She pecked his lips, before running outside the bar and unbottoning her shirt.
An alien was attacking a school bus with his laser eyes and all the kids were struggling, hiding under their seats, Supergirl shielded the bus, standing in front of the hostile alien and punched and kicked him with all her anger, that dude interrupted her quality time with Mon-El after all, until he was exhausted. The children behind her started cheering on the superhero, and Kara felt an overwhelming wave of pride and happiness taking over her heart.
That night, she decided to light up some candles, curl her hair and wear her sexiest babydoll: she felt prettier, but she was sure that Mon-El was the one who would’ve appreciated this more. She had an insane need of strawberries in that moment: Kara got so mad when she found out that there weren’t any, that she left a dent on the fridge. “Alex, can you bring me strawberries, pleeeeeeeaase?”
“It’s 11 pm, Kara, there’s no one open right now!”
“That’s why I asked you! I know you have them! Please!”
“Kara, are- are you crying?”
“No, I’m- Haha! Okay, I think I am after all. Please bring me strawberries!”
Alex sighed, a little confused, on the other side of the phone, “Okay, I’m coming.”

“Alex!” Kara immediately jumped, hugging her sister a little too much; her shirt got wet in a matter of seconds.
“What’s wrong?”
“Where are my strawberries?”
“Here. Why are you crying?”
“Mon-El said he’s working until 2 tonight. It’s Saturday..” Her tears fell on her cheeks again, she grabbed the box of strawberries and sat on the couch.
“Well, from the way you look, I would say that you were preparing a surprise for him..but it’s not a big deal! Stop crying, c'mon.” Alex sat next to her little sister.
“I can’t.. I can’t.”
“Kara.. I think there’s something wrong with you. Were you near some kind of..modified kryptonite?”
“No, no, I don’t think so.”
“How many times did you cry these days?”
“I watched a movie last night and I cried until I fell asleep, then this morning I went to the bar to see Mon-El, and I was getting emotional again while explaining him the plot..When I saved those kids I-”
“Okay, this is too much even for you; tomorrow I’m gonna do some tests on you.”
“Okay.. What if I touched something that made me too sensitive? What if I’m not bulletproof anymore? What if- oh no, here we go again.”
Alex got up to get some wine in the fridge, until she noticed the dents. “Kara, what’s this?”
“Oh..I accidentally did that..when I found out there were-”
“No strawberries?”
“No strawberries.”

“Kara, I’m about to check the results, are you on your way? Okay, see you later.”

“Okay, what did you find out? Is it a blue kryptonite? Am I okay? How do I cure this?”
“Kara uhm, I- I don’t know how to say it–”
“Am I dying?” Kara yelled anxiously, already crying again.
“Kara you’re not dying, you’re PREGNANT!”
“I’M WHAT?” Her voice was high pitched, she immediately covered her mouth with her hands, completely shocked.
“Oh Rao, oh Rao, oh Rao, what do I do? What do I do? What is Mon-El gonna do? I have a baby inside of me? In my stomach? I think I’m gonna pass out.” Kara blurted everything out without taking a breath, she sat down, next to her sister, who didn’t know what to say.
“I think you should–” The blonde’s phone started ringing. “It’s Mon-El.” She inhaled a deep breath and replied his call. “Hey.”
“I have a good news, I’m coming home earlier, around 9! I can’t wait to see you!”
“That’s great! I- I have something to tell you tonight as well..see you tonight.”
“Love you.”
“Love you more.”

“So, you’re telling him tonight?”
“I guess..”
“Before anything else..how do you feel?”
“I don’t know.. My head is just a big mess right now: I don’t know if I’m ready. A baby is.. A baby. It’s a big deal.”
“Yeah.. Are you more afraid of having a baby or.. His reaction? Have you ever discussed this possibility?”
“Yeah, never too seriously but yeah, we said that we both wanted to have children one day, but we never expected that day to arrive so soon..”
“Well, this is positive, isn’t it? Mon-El didn’t exclude a baby from his future. Before worrying too much, talk to him, and we’ll see the rest after that.” Alex kissed her cheek, finally making Kara smile. “You’re right..but please Alex, don’t tell anyone, not even Maggie. Pinky promise?”
“Pinky promise.”

“Finally home.” Mon-El walked through the door, ready to hold his girlfriend after what felt like an eternity.
“Hi babe,” she hugged him tightly, “let’s eat! How was your day? Is Kevin back?”
“Yeah finally, these days have been really tiring, I missed kicking alien butts with you.”
“Me too..” Kara chuckled, “luckily there weren’t many aliens to take down, so you didn’t miss out on much.”
After dinner, they cuddled on the couch talking about everything and nothing, she almost forgot what she had to tell him.
Kara stood up, holding a pillow in her arms; “Mon-El, listen..these past few days, I’ve felt a little weird..like remember when I almost cried explaining the movie’s plot to you?”
“Yeah, that was weird but, I didn’t judge you because I know how passionate you are over movies.”
“And I love you for that. But like I was saying, I didn’t feel right..” Mon-El’s forehead wrinkled with worry. “Is everything okay, Kara?”
“Alex did some tests, and she found out that I’m..pregnant.”
“You’re what?” His mouth opened in shock just like hers did a few hours before.
“I’m pregnant.” Kara covered her eyes. “Are you upset? Please say something, I can’t handle this anymore.”
“Upset? Are you kidding me? Why would I be upset if you’ve just given me the best news ever?” Mon-El stood up and picked Kara up, “Rao, I’m so happy right now!”
“Really? I was so nervous because I thought you didn’t want this! Now-now I can’t stop smiling.” Mon-El gave her multiple kisses all over her face, “I love you so much, Kara.”
“I love you too, Mon-El.”
“I can’t believe that this is happening..” He looked down on her stomach, smiling, his eyes were full of tears already. “Why did you think that I didn’t want this?” He stared into her eyes with so much love and awe.
“Because the only time we’ve discussed this, we said that we wanted it to happen in the future..but not a near future.”
“I said it because we didn’t have like..to rush, but I would’ve loved it whenever it would’ve arrived, as long as it was with you. From the beginning I knew that I wanted you and only you in my future, I couldn’t wish for a better mom for my child.”
“We’re really having a baby..”
“We’re having a baby.” Their faces were a mix of shock, happiness, disbelief, love. They couldn’t stop smiling and kissing.

When it was time to sleep, Kara kept staring at the ceiling.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, I’m just thinking about this little bean.” She smiled.
“Yeah and.. I couldn’t help but think if I’ll be a good mother. We’re not normal people, we are superheroes, we have enemies, we have a world to protect.”
“We can’t spend a lifetime worrying about what could happen. What did you tell me three days ago?”
“What did I tell you?”
“You’re not by yourself. You have Alex, J'onn, and even James: and that was only about the superheroing part. You also have Winn, Lena, Maggie, your earth mother Eliza..You’ll be a great mom. You’ve had good parenting figure for your whole life; I should be the one who doubts his capabilities of being a good dad.. You’ve met them, unfortunately. I grew up with maids and teachers, they were busy destroying Daxam’s society and I didn’t have a normal childhood.”
Kara cupped his face, “Hey, you’re not your parents. You are a different person, a much better person. You’ll be a great dad. We’ll be okay.”
“Thank you, Kara.”
“No, thank you. For everything, thank you for being always here for me, for the past two years.”
“My pleasure.” He kissed her forehead and caressed her head.
“Goodnight..and goodnight.” Mon-El’s hand stroked his girlfriend’s stomach, feeling like all his dreams were coming true: he couldn’t ask for a better miracle to happen to him.

I know it’s really boring and there’s a few mistakes but i had to write something 😅😂😂 let me know what you think in my inbox or in the reblogs, thank you. ❤❤❤

Relationship Goals

Request: 13. With Vernon?

13) Your friend (who is already dating one of the members) wants to set you up with your bias.

Prompt list can be found here!

Member: Seventeen’s Vernon x Y/N

Type: Fluff

I straightened out the hem of my skirt just as a solid knock landed on the door. My shoulders immediately tensed and I retreated backwards into my bedroom. I took a few deep breaths and shut my eyes.

There was a reason why I was single.

“Y/N!” my roommate called down the hall. “Y/N, the boys are here!”

“Men! Actually…” came an unfamiliar voice from the living room.

I stayed cemented in my spot, my palms immediately beginning to get sweaty. I didn’t do dates well. I was always much too awkward and nervous to leave any real impression. I had been in approximately two relationships since moving to Korea, and they weren’t anything to relate to a k-drama.

“Y/N!” my roommate, Sammy hissed down the hall.

“Sorry, I didn’t hear you,” I called, nodding to myself. I stepped from my room and began into the living area. Two guys were standing next to Sammy. One I recognized as her boyfriend, Joshua. The other was a boy only a little bit taller than I was with dusty hair pushed back from his face. I tried to tell myself that everything would be fine, that was until he turned around.

His large smile immediately grew on his face and a blush appeared before he even attempted to make eye contact. He was gorgeous.

“Hi,” I said quietly, getting second hand embaressment from watching his reaction.

“Hey,” he smiled. I began to offer my hand to him as he went in for a hug. We awkwardly met somewhere in the middle as he embraced me and I had my hand against his stomach. “I’m Vernon.”

“Y/N,” I nodded as we pulled away from each other. He flinched as our arms slid passed each other and I immediately picked up on the motion. He couldn’t handle this just as much as I couldn’t.

“I have the tickets for the amusement park,” Sammy smiled as she wrapped Joshua’s hand in hers.

“That should be fun, did you grab your coat?” Joshua’s kind voice replied as he beamed at Sammy. He was always the gentleman with her, and it was so inspiring to watch. They were definitely relationship goals.

Vernon looked quickly from the adoring couple in front of us, back to me. “Uh…you..you have a jacket?” he stuttered, giving a small smile at the end of his sentence.

I nodded motioning to the sweater tucked under my arm. “I think I’m good.”

“Oh, well….good thing,” he smiled, rocking back and forth on his heels.

“So we’re going to the amusement park?” I asked, trying to inspire conversation. i was surprised at myself, but figured I’d take pity on someone who was more nervous than I was. “Do you like rollercoasters?”

“Love them. You can just call me an adrenaline junkie,” he stuttered, looking as if he was already caught in a lie.

“But Vernon,” Joshua said, looking over with furrowed brows. “The last time we went on a roller coaster you-”

“We should probably get going, right? I don’t want the park to…uh, close? We should go,” he said quickly, grabbing my elbow and beginning to tug me from the room. As soon as his fingertips made contact with my skin, he acted as if I had burnt him and pulled away. A blush reappeared on his cheeks and I gave him a slow smile. This would definitely be interesting.

We were exhausted on the bus ride home. We had spent all day at the park, and now that it was near dusk, we had all agreed that the next course of action would to order take out and watch a movie. Vernon and I’s dynamics continued awkwardly, but I think we were both growing to accept it at this point.

We sat along side each other and I looked up from my phone to see Sammy with her head tucked into Joshua’s shoulder and his arm draped around her. They looked so effortless.

Meanwhile across the isle we were a mess of sweaty palms and giggles, neither of us even remotely prepared for whatever this was.

“So…did Sammy tell you anything about me? Preparing for us to meet?” Vernon asked, tilting his head.

“Well, she showed me some of your science videos on youtube and that was pretty much-” I began.

“Do you want to listen to some music?” he asked, switching gears. “I have a pretty eclectic taste, but you probably could’ve figured that one out.”

I nodded, giving him a careful smile. I was happy to see he was just as mortified by his prepubescent self as I was. Then again, at least my tween years weren’t uncovered for the world to see.

Vernon reached into his coat pocket and pulled out his ipod, unraveling his headphones and offering one to me. I took it and placed it into my ear. Something I recognized as J.Cole began to pump through the small speakers and I closed my eyes, nodding along slowly to the music.

I opened my eyes again to see Vernon carefully watching me, we made eye contact for a brief second before he looked away, an embarrassed smile playing on his lips.

I took a deep breath and began to lean my head toward him, placing it on his shoulder. He froze as soon as our bodies made contact, his arm tensing up below my face. After a few moments, he began to relax, his shoulders slowly slumping again.

“Hey Vernon,” I sighed, nearly falling asleep with the music in my ears and the gentle lull of the bus ride.

“Yeah?” he asked.

“Thank you for today,” I whispered, closing my eyes again.

I could feel him shift to get a better view of my face, and a smile in his words. “Are you going to thank me every time we go on a date?”

“Assuming we have more dates?” I chuckled, still not opening my eyes.

“Why wouldn’t we?” he asked a bit too quickly.

“Well, Vernon Chwe,” I laughed. “You should be a bit more careful with your words or else I would think you like me.”

“I do like you,” he said quietly. I felt the heat radiating from his face. As soon as the words left his lips, I felt a quick kiss on my temple and his body began to tense up again.

I sat up, opening my eyes and leveled him with a surprised expression. He watched me, his eyes darting from one part of my face to another.

I smiled, placing my hand lightly in his. His palms were incredibly sweaty, but I didn’t mind. “I like you too.”

X - Part Four

A/N: I’m sorry I took forever. I don’t really have a good excuse for making you all wait, so I don’t want to lie. This part was a bit hard for me to write and it came about after lots of pondering, rewriting, and various forms of editing. I like it though!

Also, I mention Baekhyun and Taeyeon’s relationship in this. Of course, I have no actual insight on this relationship and know no more than anyone else would. Just because this story includes one perception of the couple, does not mean it is my own personal theories or opinions. It’s part of my fictional story just like anything else. This goes for all future mentions of the couple.

Thank you. Love you. Very much.

“Whatever you’re thinking, it’s probably true.”

Those were the first words Chanyeol spoke to me once we got in the car. I didn’t even get a chance to give him the directions to my home before he started explaining the situation I had gotten myself into.

“When they started dating in 2014, Baekhyun kept it a secret from everyone, and I mean everyone. The bastard didn’t even tell me. I had to hear it from SM’s announcement. Can you imagine that? Whatever, I don’t care.”

My face reflected my doubtful feelings, as anyone who knew Chanyeol at all would know that something like that would eat him from the inside out.

“Hey I can see you making a face, I’m trying to help you.”
“Sorry, sorry, keep going. Please.”

When the stars are right...

Partaking in a game where the DM is not only seasoned, but a National place for IronGM you get into some serious situations, even at Level 1.

We three: Artificer, Druid, and Rogue; take up a quest to locate a strange object in a ruined castle, which is off-limits by the ruling emperor. Naturally, it will be tricky to get in. Part of which, involved using a gondola to navigate the drainage sewers. Think where storm drains converge. An old kenku gives us a series of turns to navigate them.

We didn’t realize it’d be like navigating Splash Mountain at Disney World w/ no safety equipment. The canal tunnels split, and keep coming faster.

–Epic Feat #1–
DM: You’ve missed your turn!

Artificer: “Oh no we haven’t” [OOC] whip around and fire my hook bolt at where the tunnel split behind us. Planting my feet at the back of the boat. (Winch-crossbow)

DM: Oho! Roll to hit with disadvantage.

Artificer: (rolls 19 total, higer was 22)

DM: Excellent! Now give me a strength save!

Artificer: [OOC] Ah hell.. of course my worst- (rolls Nat20) -BOOSH!

DM: Delightful. Now you two give me Dex saves!

Rogue & Druid pass, but the Druid faceplants in the boat.

DM: You’re doing so well, better keep it up! Now, mister manly, roll me some Athletics!

Artificer proceeds to roll between 10 (loses progress), 14 (gains a little) then finally a 20 total.

DM: Huzzah! You’ve managed to pull yourself back to the fork, yet your arms feel like they are ablaze! Such a herculean effort has left you nearly exhausted. Now for a constitution save.

Artificer: 18.

DM: -smirks- Well, you haven’t fainted. Hope you steer better in the future. Who knows where this labyrinth leads!

–Epic Feat #2–
As we neared the end of this aquatic gauntlet, the final turn comes into view. To our left, a sharp, near 80 degree turn. To our right, a gaping void of darkness.

Rogue: This might prove unfortunate…

Artificer: LEAAAAN! -hauls on the rudder-

DM: Athletics dear Artificer! Disadvantage from your fatigue, mind you.

Artificer: (20 total followed by 14) [OOC] Uh… izzat enough?

DM: It shall suffice. The boat twists violently towards the proper path. Dexterity saves!

Rogue: 25
Druid: [OOC] Uh oh…

DM: What is it?

Druid, timid: Four…

DM: With the sharp turn, our dear Druid is now sailing into the unfathomable darkness beyond, a yawning of sound echoing into the distance.

Rogue: [OOC] Nope, spending that inspiration I got earlier. I’m going to catch her, and get her back in the boat.

DM: You had better hope your luck holds out. Any less than 24 will get both of you finding how deep this place really goes. Acrobatics or Athletics, your choice.

Rogue: (Natty, totalling 28) clears his throat, flourishes his hand over the die.

DM: In a blur of burgundy, you leap from the gondola, pitching it forward, raising the ruined rudder from the water. Flip-kicking off the rim of this gaping hole to nowhere, you seize the druid from her plummet. Grasping the trailing mooring line, you fling the both of you back into the boat!

Rogue: I don’t like misfortune.

Personal Ties

Sorry this took long. It was a busy day and I thought it would be an easy day, but that’s life lol. As always, enjoy!

“Dawson, Nagel, I need you to go somewhere.” Stone said as he rushed over to them.

Antonio and Nagel listened to what Stone needed for them and they were about to head out when Stone stopped him.

“I feel like I need to warn you that the paramedics on the scene were your sister and your girlfriend.”

He nodded his head as he sucked in a deep breath.

“I got it.” He promised, knowing he couldn’t run over to Sylvie or Gabby just because of his personal ties with them. Deep personal ties at that.

As Antonio headed out of the Justice building, Nagel looked over at him. “So, let me get this straight.Your sister and your girlfriend were at the crime of the scene when pretty much a gang war erupted in front of them?” She questioned.

“You were there when Stone explained it, Nagel.” He said, clearly frustrated.

“Look, I know you want to check in on them, so you can question them while I question other witnesses.” She suggested.

“Are you sure?” He asked as he headed over to his truck.

“Absolutely.” Over the last few months, they grew closer as partners and knew how much family meant to Antonio. “As long as you get their statement, I don’t care.”

Antonio climbed inside his truck and he nodded his head. “Thanks, Nagel.”

Once they were buckled up, he put on his sirens as he headed towards the scene of the crime. Probably because of his sister and girlfriend in this mess, he made it there in less than 10 minutes.

As he quickly unbuckled his seat belt and got out of the truck, he looked over at Nagel as she quickly made her way over to the witnesses. There were cops with Gabby and Sylvie, but thankfully, as he walked over to them, they walked away.

When Gabby saw Antonio, she quickly gave him a hug. “I wasn’t sure if you were going to show up or the intelligence unit.” She admitted as she stepped back from the hug.

“For the most part, this is their case but still investigating it since this is huge.” He said as he glanced around at the crime scene.

“5 dead, and more injured.” Gabby said, bringing Antonio’s attention back to her.

“I’m just glad you guys are okay.” Maybe it wasn’t the right thing to say since these were just kids, but it was the truth.

He glanced over at Sylvie and he walked over to her and he pulled her in his arms.

“I’m fine, Antonio.” She promised, knowing him, he was worried out of his mind.

“Did they hurt you?” He asked as he pulled away from the hug and examined her face. Once he didn’t see anything, he stepped away from her further and examined her body.

“Antonio, stop!” She said in a loud tone, but only loud enough for him to calm down. “I’m fine. Me and Gabby went and cover when the shooting happened.”

“Thank god.” He said as he pulled her back in his arms and kissed her head.

Maybe his overprotectiveness could get annoying, but she couldn’t blame him. Every time he went to work, she couldn’t help but think she was going to get a phone call that he was shot. But this was their life and they chose it but more importantly, they respected each other and knew they could handle each other.

She knew he was only being overprotective because this could have ended badly but she had no doubt in her mind that she knew Antonio thought she could handle herself.

A few seconds, he pulled away and he looked at Sylvie and Gabby. “I know the last thing you want to do right now is give a statement and you may have done so with other cops, but I need you guys to tell me what happened.” He said as he took out his notepad and a pen and started writing down what they said occurred.

After they were done giving Antonio their statement, Gabby placed her hand on his arm. “Thank you, Antonio.” She turned her attention to Sylvie. “I’m going to go get in the ambulance and call Matt to tell him we’re okay.”

Sylvie nodded her head and watched as Gabby walked away and got in the drivers side. She turned her attention back to her boyfriend who was staring at her intently.

“You’re cute when you’re all worried.” She thought maybe flirting with him and getting his mind off of what could happen would calm him down.

“Yeah?” He asked as a slight smile appeared on his face. But just as fast as it came, it was gone. His eyes turned serious and he stepped closer to her. He took her hands in his.

“I think I’m going to have to buy you a bullet proof vest to make sure that you can’t get hurt.”

Sylvie laughed as she shook her head. “We live in Chicago, I don’t think I can expect to be a paramedic and that I’ll be safe at all times. I learned that in my first few months of being a paramedic.”

“I guess I should just be relieved that you’re strong.” He smiled softly as he leaned in and kissed her cheek.

Antonio may not have been a fan of PDA before he met Sylvie, but then again, before Sylvie, he was a different man with different beliefs.

Sylvie glanced over at Nagel who seemed to be waiting for Antonio and knowing Gabby was waiting for her, she knew they had to say their goodbyes for now.

“I would love to stay here all day, but I know Gabby wants to leave and I am technically still on duty, so I’ll see you later?” She asked.

“Damn straight you will. Will you be coming to my place after shift?” He questioned as he let go of one of her hands to stroked her cheek.

“Of course. I’m already exhausted after what happened here, and I always sleep better in your arms anyway.” She smiled.

“Okay. Be careful, okay? Please.” He pleaded with her, the last thing he needed was to find out she was in danger again.

“I will. But you be careful too. I love you.” She sealed her proclamation of love with a kiss against his lips.

It wasn’t a long kiss, but it was kiss filled with love.

“I love you too.” He said once the kiss ended.

As he walked away, Sylvie smiled, feeling better than what she was feeling before he showed up. Antonio always managed to make her feel better.

Home (Vrisrezi)

The unconscious, frail, paled body of Vriska Serket lay before Terezi Pyrope on the bed of pebbles at her feet. Something about her expression seemed peaceful despite her physical state. She must’ve known she was coming home.

Terezi could feel tears streaming down her face out of nowhere. It had been four years since she had seen Vriska. Two years since she’d been here. She let out a long scream, gravelly and weak from fatigue. Around her, apartment lights flickered on. She didn’t stop her cry of pain, kept wailing even as she heard sirens going off. The lights surrounding her were so bright and she was so drained. She collapsed next to Vriska and held her. Her body felt ice cold against her chest. Terezi didn’t let go as she blacked out herself.

When Terezi woke up, she found herself at what she recognized to be Rose and Kanaya’s house, propped up against the arm of the couch. She had a death grip on a couch cushion and an aching headache. It was still dark out. She must have not been asleep all that long.

Terezi wiped the sleep away from her eyes and sat up. The TV was blaring, something about Jake and his show. It didn’t help her headache, but she let it be for the sake of white noise. Terezi glanced to her right, where she hadn’t noticed Dirk sitting at the bottom of the stairs, his face lit up by his phone. He glanced up at her, then craned his neck upwards. “She woke up!” he yelled, still deadpan, answered by muffled commotion and the sound of multiple voices talking over each other. With a yawn, Dirk went back to scrolling through his phone.

Rose came hastily down the stairs in a robe and slippers, a manic expression in her eyes, as if she’d been losing sleep. She sat down next to Terezi.

“Kanaya is upstairs with Vriska and, uh… the doctor.” There was a pause. Terezi was still too drained to talk. She felt like she was suffocating from stress and pressure and exhaustion. Rose, as expected, seemed to read her mind. “From what we know so far, she’ll be fine.” She smiled wearily. “We missed you.”

Terezi turned her head towards the blaring television and finally exhaled. Of course, that was what she wanted to hear, but at the same time, something felt wrong.

Next down the stairs came Jade, bolting. Immediately she hopped onto the couch and enveloped Terezi in her strong arms. She smelled like dirt. Terezi could feel more tears coming. She’d forgotten.

Jade was mumbling: “Oh my god. You’re here now. It’s okay. We’re fine. She’s fine.” Terezi couldn’t tell if she was trying to reassure Terezi or herself. She started kissing Terezi’s forehead and rubbing her arms.

“Is she… fine?” Terezi managed to squeak hoarsely.

The room went silent except for the TV, the voice of a news reporter: “Breaking news: Creator Terezi Pyrope has returned–” Dirk shut the TV off before they could continue. Terezi’s ears almost popped at the sudden, complete silence. It felt nice.

“Terezi.” Kanaya’s voice startled her. She seemed to have made her way down the stairs without making a sound. “Do you want to come up?” Terezi nodded. Yeah, she did. She got up. Jade and Rose stayed on the couch. She walked into the hallway with the stairs and then with hesitation, up the stairs.

She peeked into the guest room where Vriska was. There she sat. Terezi clenched her fists tight as she knocked, then walked into the room. “Hey, who are you?” Vriska asked. And with that, tears were already racing down her face. That broke her. No matter what Vriska had said, Terezi could have kept her cool, but not that. It was silent and she didn’t let out a peep, yet everyone could tell she wasn’t doing too hot. “Hey, uh, don’t cry.” Vriska said, panicked. Afterall, she probably just woke up and now this girl was crying cause of the one thing she said.

“She can’t remember much, but she knows the basics. Like she’s a troll, her name is Vriska, and that she forgot everything.” The doctor said.
“Does she remember being lost?” Terezi asked as she wiped the tears away and prepared her self to handle the situation.
“Space,” Vriska turned to me quickly. “I…. I think was lost there…. or maybe I was lost in time… I can’t remember where I was lost from though.”
“Here.” Terezi said weakly. “You were lost from here, but your…. home now, and so am I.”

“Were you out there looking for me? Do I mean a lot to you, is that, um, okay to ask?” Vriska said sheepishly, which was weird as before she was lot she was never shy. Terezi trembled. Kanaya placed her arm on her shoulder. Terezi took a deep breath and squeezed one hand in the other. “You loved me, and I love you. You know, like girlfriends.”

She scratched her arm and looked over at Kanaya, who looked back at her. There was a long silence. One could suppose that the girlfriend fact didn’t help. Then Vriska finally broke the silence:
“T-terezi? Is…….. that your name? Terezi?”

Timely Fashion (James Wesley)

Maybe you were overreacting, but it was the fourth time he’d come home late without saying a word. The other times you had let it slide but this time “late” meant 4:30 in the morning and with the escalated violence in Hell’s Kitchen it was near impossible to convince yourself he was okay.

When he finally did come home you greeted him by throwing your arms around his neck causing him to stumble slightly.

“Finally,” you mumbled into his neck, his hand hesitantly rubbing your back, still a little surprised at your reaction.

“You’re still awake?” He questioned with a hint of concern in his face. You stepped back, he sure was dim for a man who spoke so many languages.

“Of course I am! It is 4:30 in the morning and I haven’t heard a peep from you since you left yesterday morning! You were dead for all I knew!”

He sighed and glanced at his watch before pinching the bridge of his nose.

“I’m sorry, I was preoccupied, but I’m here and alive now, shouldn’t that count for something? Y/N, let’s get to sleep, I’m exhausted and I’ve got less than an hour to sleep, my head is pounding and your fussing isn’t helping.”

“There’s so much snow in my boots.”

A/N: Wow it’s Christmas here! I’m so thankful and appreciate my family so much.

The trip back from Hogsmeade was treacherous, the snow fell down rapidly and you could barely see through the thick layer of snow, you thought a blizzard may arrive.

“Remus this is a bad idea perhaps we should go back to The Three Broomsticks, it was warm in there!” You yelled, barely able to hear yourself. You turned to your left making sure he was still beside you and hadn’t fallen back without you realising.

“No that isn’t a bad idea at all, we need to go back now,” he replied, and you sighed with relief knowing that he was still there and okay. A hand reached for yours and you clasped it, blindly following the path that should be there, but was layered with snow. The snow had reached your ankles and it became even more difficult to find your way back to the store.

Finally, with a little help from Remus, who seemed to never give up despite the difficulties he may face, you reached the door of your favourite store. Shaking hands pushed the door open to an all too familiar place. The string of fairy lights that covered every wall, the ‘welcome to The Three Broomsticks’ sign along with the cheerful chatter that never seemed to die down.

A rather loud voice who could not have been mistaken for Madam Rosmerta called “you poor darlings! Please come in, is there anything you would like?”

You and Remus took off your coats and placed them on the coat rack.

“Two butterbeers please,” he asked politely, taking his gloves and beanie off.

“Of course, now take a seat! You must be exhausted,” she sympathised and walked off to the bar, the sound of her clicking heels becoming softer the more she walked through the crowd.

You found a spare table and beckoned Remus over, he happily took a seat and sighed, aching legs finally getting some rest.

“What a walk.” He laughed, rubbing your arm when he saw you shattering from the cold outside.

“That’s my exercise for the week,” you said, laughing along with him.

Madam Rosmerta came back with each hand filled with the creamy beverage.
“Here, if you need anything else, please don’t hesitate to call for me! Also, have a very lovely Christmas you two.” She grinned, placing a jug in front of you and Remus.

“You too!” You offered, and she waved before going back into the crowd again.
You took a long sip, foam resting on your cupid’s bow. You turned towards Remus but he mirrored your expression, he too had foam on him.

“You got a little somethin’.” He pointed and you wiped it off with the Christmas themed napkin.

“Right back at you.” You pointed back and giggled at his expression.

Finished jugs were in the middle of the table as you talked nonsense with Remus for what seemed like hours. Moments like these were what you cherished most of all.
You were looking at Remus as he talked about the depths of space when your eyes diverted ever so slightly to the window to notice the snow had stopped.

“I hate to interrupt Remus, but the snow has stopped,” you asserted, he turned to the window and saw that you were right.

“Let’s go before it starts up again,” he concluded, reaching for his gloves and beanie. You slid out of the chair and grabbed yours and Remus’ coat as he paid for the butterbeers.

The walk back wasn’t as nearly as bad compared to before. Your connected hands swung as you walked up the hill, finally seeing Hogwarts and it felt oddly comforting.

“There is so much snow in my boots,” Remus muttered, breaking the silence that fell upon you two.

You looked at his boots and back to him and let out a huff of laughter, he looked at you and faked annoyance.

“My boots are filled with snow too, you’re not alone on this one,” you reassured, this time he let out a huff of laughter. His demeanor relaxed and calm.

“First one back to Hogwarts wins!” You shouted and with a head start begun running up to the doors. It took Remus more than a second to comprehend what you said before he shouted “that’s not fair!”

You beat him by only a few seconds, his long legs at a high advantage. When he did reach you, you were bent over with your hands on your knees trying to catch your breath.

“I win,” you boasted, looking up to him with a smirk on your face.

“If I knew about it before you started to run I would of bet you fair and square,” he shot back, arms crossed against his chest.

“Jealous?” You teased, amused glint in your eye.

“Me? Jealous? Never.” He grinned, turning around to offer you a piggy back. You accepted and jumped on his back. He stood and walked up the stairs towards to the Common Room, giving you cheesy Christmas jokes along the way.
