“I was excited to start Skyrim’s Dark Brotherhood quest line, since I enjoyed Oblivion’s so much. Until, I walked into Aventus Aretino’s home and saw him standing over the black sacrament, so excited to see me. The whole scene really soured me to the Dark Brotherhood. Instead of joining them, I killed them all.“

I’m really curious about the 7th album from EPICA. I mean, they talked about topics like 9/11 bombing, murder of a politician because of his sexuality and opinion on politics, effects of Islamic fundamentalism and Christianity indoctrination in their first album, “THE PHANTOM AGONY”, in “CONSIGN TO OBLIVION”, they tackled rise and fall of Mayan civilization, in DIVINE CONSPIRACY, they focused on the 7 deadly sins and religion criticism, in DESIGN YOUR UNIVERSE, the breakthroughs in science, in REQUIEM FOR THE INDIFFERENT, the end of an era: the enormous tension between different religions and cultures, wars, natural disasters and a huge financial crisis, and in their recent album, “THE QUANTUM ENIGMA”, they dealt with by the most mind-bending scientific proof in all of quantum physics: one that posits that our physical environment is directly influenced by our consciousness. They also discussed a lot of things, power of meditation, diseases of the mind like Alzhiemer’s disease and insomnia, the cycle of birth, life and death, and many many topics! This band is just mindblowing, any thoughts :D

“It kills me that, after you get the letter from Lucien Lachance that will lead to the Purification, if you ask the other Dark Brotherhood members about it, they’re so enthusiastic about your task. About how special it is to get a secret task from Lucien himself. Little do they know that that task will bring about their deaths.”

“I love how changeable Sheogorath’s voice is. One minute it’s insanely happy, then it’s boiling over with anger, then it’s dark and terrifying. It stops me from completely seeing him as a fun and likeable character, and reminds me that he’s a dangerously insane Daedric Prince who could easily skip rope with my intestines.”

“I just finished the main quest and was walking around aimlessly through the Imperial City, just feeling empty and numb about Martin’s death. Everyone started talking about his noble sacrifice and I just wanted to feel as happy as they did. After a while I went back to the Temple. Then when I neared the statue I saw that I could activate it. I did so and saw the “The Blessings of Akatosh are upon you.” I was so happy, humbled, and heartbroken at the same time.”

“Sometimes I think the Dark Brotherhood questline is actually a beautifully tragic tale of people- no one is right or wrong, they are all acting reasonably considering their circumstances. But then the game developers decided to leave Lucien’s body hanging, despite creating the graves of the Draconis family, and make Arquen un-killable?! (at least I never managed to take her down), and I just think the writer of that story left early that day.”

“To initiate the dark brotherhood quest I killed one of the ‘mages’ in the “Necromancer’s amulet” quest before it revealed they were all necromancers. Within minutes of becoming Arch-mage I slept in the Arch-Mage’s quarters just to make sure Lucien Lachance had to break in to the university to see me. Too good a chance to pass up.”

“My Dark Brotherhood character was going to confess her love to Lucien at Applewatch, but seeing him mutilated drove her mad. She became the Arena champion soon after, her need for revenge (and her inability to exact it upon the Dark Brotherhood) fuelling her bloodlust, before running away to the Shivering Isles for many years until the events of Skyrim. She returned to the Dark Brotherhood (post-Astrid), overjoyed to see Lucien’s spirit gracing the halls.”

“One of my friends gave me a head canon for a female elf: “What if your female elf there was Martin’s birthmother? Your elf could had slept with the Emperor once, not realizing that he was the Emperor. After Martin was born, you dropped him off with his father and she left. When she returned, she got thrown in jail. The Emperor probably recognized her, but saw that she didn’t recognize him. He didn’t say anything because he wanted your character to remember him when they were young.”“
