book pairings:Ian O'Shea and Wanderer
from The Host by Stephenie Meyer

Was it fair that Ian would suffer? He deserved happiness if anyone did. It wasn’t fair or right or even sane. How could I do this to him?
I love you, I whispered.
Don’t say that like you’re saying goodbye.
But I had to. I, the soul called Wanderer, love you, human Ian. And that will never change, no matter what I might become. I worded it carefully, so that there would be no lie in my voice.

another meme i won’t finish — ten movies:

The Host: “It’s not the face, but the expressions on it. It’s not the voice, but what you say. It’s not how you look in that body, but the thing you do with it. You are beautiful.”

okay so we all agree that Ian and O'wanda as a whole is a lovely thing but let me tell you WHY exactly I fell in love with the concept of Ian from the second I finished the movie (I read the book after that because I needed to know all the details).

Ian in his essence is the definition of character growth. I mean obviously he’s always been kind and good-hearted and loving and sweet and all around lovely, that didn’t just spring over night, but he changed his entire perception of the world and the situation of the whole fucking human race ALL ON HIS OWN  because Jeb and Jared and Jamie all actually talked to Wanda before reaching their conclusions (and some of them *coughcoughjared* never quite reached that point but let’s not get into that that’s a personal opinion) whereas that precious little bastard just stood in his room thinking and reflecting and analyzing and just suddenly DECIDED he’s not seeing the entire picture and that what he thought was right is actually wrong and just went and did a 180 just because he wanted to do the right thing not by himself but by this scared creature that had somehow ended up amongst them not quite trusting her yet but just on the small (to him) possibility that she is in fact telling the truth and is just there to help her host keep her promise and is being treated like utter scum in return and THAT is why I love him because I’m a whore for character growth and because to me he kinda conveys the entire message of the book and because I like good people and also because his complete honesty about things most people would never be honest about is kind of adorable. So yeah, just needed to get all (or at least most) of my Ian feels out while I keep looking for decent o'wanda fics (any help in that department is deeply appreciated btw) and I hope someone reads this and maybe even agrees who knows. I just know I really love this man and the way he can always read Wanda’s mind and that unstoppable need he has to protect her and always be by her side, because let’s face it she wouldn’t have made it through half of what she went through without his constant stedying presence so let’s give it up for the miracle that is Ian O'Shae :)
