Red-bearded Bee-eater (Nyctyornis amictus)
…a large species of bee-eater (Meropidae) that is known to occur in the Indo-Malayan subregion of Southeastern Asia. Red-bearded bee-eaters typically inhabit dense forests where they are generally seen near openings. Like other bee-eaters, red-bearded bee-eaters feed mainly on insects which are caught in mid-flight, via a method known as hawking. Like other members of the family Meropidae, N. amictus will nest in burrows tunneled into the side of sandy banks.
