one-sentence anime reviews, 13

these one-sentence anime reviews don’t write themselves y’know

さくら荘のペットな彼女 / The Pet Girl of Sakura Hall: so much more emotionally satisfying than the initial premise “boy appoints himself caregiver to idiot-savant girl because he gets uncomfortable knowing she forgets to wear panties to school” suggests.

這いよれ!ニャル子さん / Nyarko-san: Another Crawling Chaos: i don’t get most of the Lovecraft references but i do get most of the otaku references, and i think if i had the choice between them i lucked out.

俺の彼女と幼なじみが修羅場すぎる。 / (my girlfriend and my childhood friend make everything a battleground) / oreshura: is the anime world conspiring to get me to read JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure or something?

森田さんは無口 / Morita-san wa mukuchi (Morita-san is the quiet type): exactly what it sounds like: shorts about the daily life of a very quiet girl and her not-quiet friends.

スタードライバー輝きのタクト / Star Driver: i just deleted the raving fangirlish sentences i wrote around episode 5 to say this is one of those really good series that could have been totally awesome but for a dozen tiny things. and one less tiny thing, which is that Fukuyama Jun and Miyano Mamoru are perfect for each other’s roles. i just spent 25 episodes thinking “they’re not really miscast! i’ll get used to them eventually!” and NOPE.
