I’m so tired of buying mixed nuts to find they’re mostly peanuts or cashews and usually way to salty. I decided to buy my own individual packages of nuts and start experimenting with my own spice blends.
Sweet & Spicy Nuts
Here’s what you need:
2 ½ cups assorted unsalted nuts, i used peeled peanuts, walnuts, pecans, pistachios and whole unpeeled almonds
2 tablespoons coarsely chopped fresh rosemary leaves
½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 teaspoons dark brown sugar
2 teaspoons sea salt
1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
Here’s what you do:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Toss the nuts in a large bowl to combine and spread them out on a baking sheet. Toast in the oven until light golden brown, about 10 minutes.
In a medium bowl, combine the rosemary, cayenne, sugar, salt and melted butter.
Pour the toasted nuts in a large bowl. Pour spice mix into the nut mix and stir until evenly coated.
Goes well with an adult beverage served in a frosty glass.
