DO protect idols from inappropriate comments involving relationships between them and their group member. DON’T protect idols by stating they aren’t gay. You don’t know their sexual orientation and you shouldn’t dictate what it is.

I got really emotional as I realized that in 2 months time it will be our 5 year anniversary with NU’EST… Words cannot explain how grateful I am for Youngmin, Jonghyun, Dongho, Minhyun and Minki’s existence.

An open letter to fangirls and fanboys alike

So fangirls and fanboys alike, it’s time for us to sit down and have a little chat.

So as a new year begins and the news that Got7 dating ban has been lifted, I felt it was time for all of us to have a little chat.

It’s time for all of us to realize that there is a very legit chance that your bias is going to date somebody this year, and I do not care if they are dating a fan, an idol or bloody potato peeler, you will not and I repeat NOT give this person any hate!

As fans we all want to best for our fav’s to be happy! You know what make people happy? LOVE! You want your fave to write better music? LOVE! You want your fave to have a lower chance of crippling depression coming from all the antis? LOVE!

You get my point, so I have written a list of things you won’t do!

  1. Give said idol/fan/potato peeler hate on social media.
  2. Give said idol/fan/potato peeler hate if you see them in real life.
  3. Start a hate blog dedicated to said idol/fan/potato peeler
  4. Throw a temper tantrum that your bias dares to date somebody that aren’t you.
  5. Leave said bias nasty social media hate.

I think that’s about the gist of it, here is what you should do instead:

  1. Be happy for your bias!
  2. Treat them like you did when they were single

If you are unable to do this, there is a door to my right, please use it! If your opinion changes on a person based on if they are dating or not are you real a fan at all?

That was all for now, too everybody who is still here, happy new year! ALSO THIS GOES FOR MALE OR FEMALE GROUPS!

CROSS GENE DESERVES A WIN.
UNDERRATED GROUPS ALSO DESERVE WINS. UNDERRATED DOES NOT MEAN UNTALENTED. NOT EVERYTHING IS ABOUT YOUR OPPA(S). I LOVE EXO OR BANGTAN AS MUCH AS THE NEXT PERSON BUT SOME PEOPLE SHOULD BE HAPPY TOO. NAME OTHER GROUPS THAT I FORGOT OR ARE UNDERRATED AS WELL.

So anyway shout out to the gay kpop fans who have to watch their sexuality be turned into a gimmick while actual homosexuality is shunned (in general, but maybe not by their idols). Shout out to the transgender kpop fans who saw hope in Lady, but were heartbroken when they disbanded. Shout out to transgender kpop fans who don’t even know who Lady is, but could’ve benefitted from having their music around.

Shout out to the black kpop fans who have to deal with 1000 whitewashed photos of their idols because their dark skin isn’t nice enough to be captured in a photo. Shout out to the Asian fans who have dark skin, monolids or small eyes, big noses, and who aren’t skinny, that have to watch as their idol who shares these traits is ridiculed for not fitting the Western idea that Asians are petit or delicate and submissive, and forced to laugh it off, lest the idol’s reputation be damaged. Shout out to the chubby and fat kpop fans who feel like they’re lesser because they don’t look like their idols and have to watch as those who do look like them are attacked by netizens.

To those who look up to those few actors/singers who are out and appreciate people like Heechul, Amber, Ren, and Jeonghan for wearing traditional “boy/girl” clothing or having “boy/girl” hair; to those who look up to Wonho for saying gender doesn’t matter to him; to the black fans that find comfort in knowing Insooni, Lee Michelle, Yoon Mirae, and Alex from Rania changed the game and killed/are killing it the way they are; to those fans who defend their idols’ melanin to the death and who call out racist remarks made by other idols and fans; to those fans who don’t fit the bill of pretty and take comfort in their idols speaking out about kpop’s ridiculous standards:

Y'all are important and gorgeous.

Just a friendly reminder not to forget about groups like teen top, boyfriend, btob, 24k, myname, cross gene, boys republic, uniq, snuper, topp dogg, history, up10tion, knk, b.a.p, sf9, pentagon, romeo, map.6, big star, imfact, madtown, nu'est and more. All of these groups are gems in the industry that are unfortunately being ignored by so many. Don’t judge a groups potential based on the size of their company. You might be surprised if you just give some of them a shot.

NU'EST enter your heart like..

I SUPPORT HENRY LAU

This guy has been through way too much shit caused by both “fans” and agency.

This is a time where Kpop fans can truly show what Kpop-family is. An idol neglected by the agency he’s signed to, where he has been for 9 years (which may I add, is before older groups like 2NE1, F(x), 4MINUTE, BEAST and SHINee even debuted. In fact, SNSD debuted the same year he debuted at SM).
Can we all just agree to help him out? Whether it is him wanting to leave SM, or him wanting to release his music.

“I…only have my fans left. If you see this message, please speak for me. My agency doesn’t listen to me.”

Let’s speak for him.

Boy groups and splitting up
  • Exo: Lay convinced half the members to start a new group with him in China after SM didn't give them any lines. Chanyeol now makes money off "chogiwa" memes, and D.O. moved to a cabin in the woods.
  • BTS: Some crazy armies took control of their car and the members have never been seen again.
  • Seventeen: Hoshi broke one of his legs, Scoups went back to Nu'est, and Woozi went on a long self-reflecting retreat. Without their leaders, Seventeen broke into chaos and accidently set the Pledis building on fire.
  • Block B: All the members left shortly after they changed their name to Zico and the Blocks.
  • Got7: After a few years, JYP let them have another US tour. Pool party 2.0 happened and JYP just left them there. Rumor has it Bambam got arrested.
  • Big Bang: *cough* drugs *cough*
  • NCT: SM just gave up after Mark, who had been in every subunit, left. Faced a lot of criticism after they kept debuting idols at a younger and younger age.
  • Nu'est: After their 37th mini album they decided it was time to call it quits.
  • U-Kiss: It became too difficult to juggle being an idol and having kids for all the members.
  • SHINee: Never broke up.

Just a friendly reminder to not forget about groups like teen top, cross gene, 24k, boys republic, topp dogg, up10tion, big star, high4, history, imfact, map6, jjcc, Uniq, nu'est, knk, madtown, n.flying and romeo. Of course it’s impossible to support and invest in all of these groups, but give them a chance. Even though all of these groups are from small companies, they are all extremely talented and they work as hard as every other group. Probably even more than others, and they don’t deserve to be underrated like this. It would be heartbreaking to see any of them disbanding, so please don’t ignore these precious gems.
