now on to something more productive

iona-laia  asked:

I'm horrified about the amount of hate you fic writters hace to deal with. Spending several minutes of my life to insult someone who is creating something and sharing it with me FOR FREE feels not only mean, and hurtful but a complete waste of life. I mean, I could do better things, like sticking my tonge into a socket. Way more productive. Hang there sweetheart you are amazing and appreciated, thanks so much for sharing yourself with us

Thank you love! This put a huge smile on my face.

It doesn’t bother me as much anymore. It did at first, but now I realize that it’s just bitterness and jealousy. I get at least one hate message a day. I usually only answer my favorite one.

Hey, there we go… I should make that a weekly game! I will let the hate compile and I will choose a fave at the end of the week to post so we all can laugh at it!

(Of course that would require me to come up with some kind of organization system that’s not also a total mess and I’m not sure that’s even possible.)

I’m still pissed at The Odd Gentleman

Not for taking Hussie’s money, but for WASTING HIS TIME. If they had told him immediately that they were going to run off with it, Hussie could have bounced back. But instead he had to pull away from his LIVE PERFORMANCE ACT for a solid YEAR to try to whip them into shape because they just threw him in a loop.

Hussie will never recover from that. The Gigapause asked more patience from his fans than could ever be expected for the type of story it was, and most of them left. He knows this game has a market a FRACTION of the size it was when he set out to make it, and it will never grow beyond that. So why is he still determined to finish it, without cutting corners? The same reason he asked us to send him our selfies: because the handful of us that are still here mean that much to him.

Imagine if the worst that ever happened to Hussie was that he lost $600k of game funding in the blink of an eye. Homestuck would have finished almost a year earlier. The fandom would still be almost as large as in its heyday, and would still remember the comic with fondness. Hiveswap’s production would be shortened by almost two years. We could be playing Act 2 by now. The game’s sales might even match what he had lost. What Pumpkin never would have been absorbed into We Love Fine. Book 2 of Paradox Space could have been completely posted online for free already, and a third issue might even be in the works. There would still be enough demand for the print volumes that they could feasibly see their completion. Hussie would have a thriving enterprise after a decade of work instead of something he has to keep sinking more into from his pocket just to hold together.

So fuck The Odd Gentleman, because they didn’t just cost Hussie $600k. They cost him EVERYTHING.

“Do Not Draw The Corner Sun”

For some reason i got inspired by something that somebody said me when I was child; Do not draw the sun in the corner.

I tried to capture that basic concept of how kids draw - grass near the bottom, birds in the sky and sun in the corner - and make it more stylish. : D

Do Not Draw The Corner Sun is now available as T-shirts, art prints and many other products!

Truths of the Types: What They're Doing

INFJ - is probably on the verge of breaking down because of the realization they can’t marry their favorite fictional character and they have to pick someone from this planet

INTP - is probably wearing earphones right now to avoid face to face human interaction while they lurk the world wide web and expand their collection of saved memes

ISFJ - is probably pampering themself with beauty/health products because they can’t fix themself on the inside

ISTJ - is probably trying to fix something that doesn’t need to be fixed which frustrates everyone around them

INTJ - is probably staring into space thinking about their purpose in life & thinking of ways to extend their already-long list of achievements in their resume

INFP - is probably playing videogames right now and doing much more in their character’s life, more than their own

ISTP - is probably trying their best not to be rude but still ends up hurting people by their sharp words and still doesn’t realize it

ISFP - is probably smiling and looking sensitive and innocent but is actually patiently waiting for their best friend and girlfriend to break up so they could finally make their move on them

ESFP - is probably doing something they shouldn’t be doing but does it eitherway without giving effort of hiding it and is surprised about getting caught

ESFJ - is probably writing an article to help others but is actually just writing it so they can share another one of their life stories–which no one actually cares about

ESTJ - is probably smiling on the outside acting like they like you but deep down they know they’re better than you–and if you actually are, they’ll watch your every move

ESTP - is probably thinking of ways to surprise their current romantic partner by making them sad first, just to see their reaction and be able to make them feel better later on–but fails horribly to the point that their partner almost breaks up with them

ENTP - is probably on snapchat taking random snaps of themselves with their dog to show that they’re having more fun than they actually are

ENFP - is probably being clingy with numerous people at the same time through chat, making each of them feel special but they don’t know it’s not only them

ENFJ - is probably posting inspirational quotes online & showing people motivational tips but doesn’t actually follow their own advice

ENTJ - is probably reposting articles online about why a person who is strong and independent is hard to love but are actually the best people to love

P.S. Hoping you guys like my new segment ☺ First time I’m writing about all the types! Sorry again for the hiatus, btw! Hope this post will make it up to you guys.

listen, the studyblr community can be a wonderful place - but there’s this emphasis on absolute perfection that really doesn’t help a lot of students dealing with other issues on top of their studies. here are five unconventional study tips that might not fit the studyblr aesthetic but have helped me get straight as whilst learning to live with mental health and family problems too!

1. don’t study whilst commuting

i walk to school, so posts about studying on the bus just aren’t helpful - i don’t have the option to do that! even if i’m taking the train somewhere, the last thing on my mind is studying. i’m thinking about my bed and how early it is and whether or not my coffee is cool enough to drink without burning myself yet. not all of us can start working the second we’re awake, and that’s okay!

instead: record your lessons and listen to them as you travel!

even if you’re not paying attention, you’ll remember more than you think! this is especially useful for languages - i recorded myself reading a few essays and listened to them as i walked, which made noticing grammatical errors so much easier!

2. don’t rewrite all your notes

i love the studyblr aesthetic as much as anyone, but i honestly don’t have the time to write out pages and pages of notes in the hope of gaining a few followers. of course it’s nice to have pretty-looking notes, but when you have a huge list of tasks to do, it can become a way of procrastinating work that’s actually needed for a grade.

instead: organise your class notes!

check the material you’ll study before the lesson! if you’re into the brush lettering aesthetic, write out or print titles off ahead of class so you can stick them on your page without having to waste valuable lesson time drawing them. plus, knowing what you’re going to study before you actually come to it means you can prepare a list of questions to ask the teacher and improve your understanding of the subject! this way, you’ll have organised, clear notes from the beginning, so you won’t have to copy anything out at home.

3. don’t buy expensive stationery

i know everyone seems to have those tombow brush pens and leuchtturm journals. as someone who can’t afford them, trust me when i say i get how it feels. but spending money on expensive products (especially ones you don’t know how to use) is just counterproductive - your grades won’t magically go up if you start shopping at muji.

instead: try budget alternatives!

would you buy a £90 contour kit if you’d never used foundation before? the same goes for stationery! substitute for cheaper products from your local stationery stores whilst you get a feel for what’s helpful for you, not what anyone else has. for example, i tried so many types of pens before realising that my writing’s nicest with gel pens, so now i let myself get more expensive ones - but i didn’t waste more than £5 figuring this out because i’m #cheap. this list of popular studyblr dupes is constantly being added to if you really need to try something, but stressing about your stationery is not going to help you in the slightest.

4. don’t worry too much about being organised

look, we’d all like to be organised, but i’m an adult who’s lived with depression since i was thirteen, and i know it’s not always possible to have that pinterest-ready study den. sometimes your homework will be done on a bed that’s not been made in weeks of it’s going to be done at all, and that’s okay.

instead: do what you can.

had a bad day? stick on some guns n roses and do the work later. too exhausted to function? just finish that last maths problem and go to bed. it’s okay to not have a picture perfect lifestyle - most of the people who post those photos don’t have it either. just do what you have to do to get through the week.

5. don’t ignore your mental health

there’s such a weird culture of perfectionism here and it’s so damaging! of course no one has to post about their personal lives on their studyblrs - but please don’t let that lead you to believe it’s not important. this mentality of “everything is fine and i must be perfect” isn’t healthy.

instead: talk about how you feel!

it doesn’t have to be on your studyblr, but if you’re feeling suffocated by pressure to achieve, or you think you’re depressed, or you’re just going through a tough time and need to vent, talk to someone! bottling things up is not a healthy way to live life - believe me, i’ve tried it. it doesn’t work. there are so many impressionable young people here and we need to stop acting like our studies are all we can ever be.

i’m not trying to “call out” anyone who finds the minimalist note taking and study devotion helpful - everyone here is different, and i’m glad it works for you! but not all of us can do that, so this is for the people who can’t.

I’ve spent most of my life chasing the person I want to be. Because 20-year-old me will have better friends, and 25-year-old me will land a killer job, and 30-year-old me will be madly in love. And me 6 months from now will be skinnier, and me a year from now will be more confident, and me some time from now will be better somehow. So much better. For years, this is what I thought. That if I could just wait it out, everything would get better.
It took me a long time to realize that life doesn’t work that way. Older doesn’t mean happier or easier, and it certainly doesn’t mean better; it just means older. Life isn’t a well plotted screen play, or a checklist, or, God forbid, some waiting room. We have got to stop waiting. Because life isn’t about growing up to be all that we’ve ever wanted; it’s just about growing.
It’s about love, and change, and crying yourself to sleep when it’s all too much. And working at a burger joint, and kissing your best friend even though he might not like you back, and calling your mom every Sunday because you miss her like hell. It’s fights, and promotions, and hospital visits. And then it’s this: another wedding of another one of your college friends, the third one this year, but this time you meet a groomsman who’s just as down on love and you dance all night. And this: he cries when you say “I do.” And this: a kid with your eyes and his dorky ears.
Or maybe not. Maybe it’s this: you write everything, everywhere, all the time, even when the prettier kids make fun of you, and the short teacher with the big nose tells you it’s good. Really good. And this: you’re living in a shoebox, by the skin of your teeth, but there’s a bar across the street that lets you read your poetry, and every time you do, someone in the crowd finally knows what it feels like to be understood. And this: your words being published. Your words. Being bought by people who could be spending their money on anything at all. And you sit in your twin bed where you’ve written your entire novel, a dozen empty coffee mugs still dirty on the nightstand, and you scream until your lungs burn.
It’s all of these things, and bad things, and good things, and the raw realization that it doesn’t get better or worse, it just gets different. It just changes. Always, always changes. And somehow that makes it more wonderful. Because future you may have the friends, and the boy, and the job, but she didn’t get it by waiting around. She is a product of you. Right now, tomorrow, changing and growing every moment that follows. She is kind, and breathing, and beautiful. But she waits for the day she doesn’t have to worry about paying a mortgage bill, and she worries too often about what people think of her. She still doesn’t have it together.
And maybe that’s what I’ve learned after all this time: nobody has it together. We’re all just here, floundering around in pursuit of being something more. Broken, thoughtful creatures with too much time on our hands, desperate for the companionship of someone who reminds us that we are not alone. We don’t have much of anything figured out. Maybe we never will. But more importantly, I think that’s how it’s supposed to be.
—  ramblings of an overthinker

“Productivity is about making smart choices (continuously) with your energy, focus and time in order to maximise your potential and achieve beneficial results.” – Mohammed Faris

1. Find your energy hours.

Everyone has a specific time in the day where their energy levels are much higher than usual. Use that time to your advantage. Take that energy and get the majority of your work done and out of the way.

For me, the mornings are usually when I feel the most energised, so I get to work straight away. To find your energy hours, try working at different times during the day. See which time of the day allows you to work at your very best.

2. Establish routines.

Once you have found your energy hours, base your day around this. Create a routine for each day of the week.

When do you study? When do you go to school? Do you relax for an hour after coming back from school? Do you tidy your room on Sunday?

Establish a schedule and you’re less likely to get side-tracked and much more likely to maximise your productivity.

3. Ditch the to-do lists.

Yes, it’s good to write lists of things you need to do, but you’re never going to get around to doing them if you don’t plan time for it. So instead of relying on a to-do list, add the task to your routine. Will you be able to work on this task on a Saturday afternoon? Great! Put it into your schedule. This will ensure the task is completed.

4. Don’t multi-task.

You can’t do multiple things at once. It seems like you’re able to, but what you’re really doing is constantly switching your attention from one task to another. Don’t do that. Focus on one thing at a time. That way, you’re putting all of your attention on a task and are likely to get it completed faster and at a higher standard.

5. Complete similar tasks together.

If you’re studying, instead of switching from subject to subject throughout the day, try to stick to one subject. On Monday, create flashcards for a Biology topic, then revise the topic and then do a Biology past paper. This will ensure your mind is concentrated on one thing at a time and not constantly switching gears.

So get your chores done together. Study one subject at a time. Send your e-mails and messages at one time. Dedicate today to your English essay. Don’t interrupt tasks with an unrelated task.

6. Finish quick and easy tasks first.

If you need to make a dentist appointment, do it. Do you need to write a quick e-mail to your teacher? Get it out of the way.

Finishing the quick and easy tasks right away will leave you with ample time to tackle the more challenging ones you’ve got up ahead. It will also give you peace of mind that you’ve gotten something done today.

7. Take breaks.

You’re not a machine. Productivity is not working 24/7.

“Being productive is about knowing when to have fun and when to work hard; when to relax and when to be serious. It’s about making smart choices.”

Allow your mind and body to take a break every now and then and relax. Scheduling these breaks can be beneficial so that you’re not constantly taking a break when you don’t need to.

8. Prioritise.

Yes, that idea you had on the train was appealing, but is it really that beneficial? Is it important enough for you to spend your valuable time and energy on it? Will it get you where you want to go? Probably not.

So prioritise projects and tasks. Ensure important tasks are completed first and well before any upcoming deadlines. Make sure that your time is better spent doing things that will actually benefit you and bring you closer to your goals.

9. Become accountable to someone.

It’s super easy to make promises to yourself, saying that you will do this and do that. Likewise, it’s also extremely easy to break those promises.

However, this is different when you have someone you are accountable to. Perhaps, at the end of every week, you can report to a parent or a trusted friend on your progress so far. It’s extremely difficult to tell someone that you haven’t accomplished your goals for the week. This will make it far more likely for you to get your work done.

10. Review your progress.

At the end of each day, you should evaluate your progress. What did you accomplish today? What did you do well? What did you not complete today? Why? How could you improve? When will you complete it?

Asking yourself these questions and being honest will help you see where you’re going right and where you’re not doing so well.

I hope this is useful to some of you and that you put your time and energy into good use. 😊

Potato, Plaliato

Xylo thought nothing of it when plaliato sticks were added to the ship’s cafeteria menu, and neither, it seemed, did Lee. That was until they actually entered the dining hall and Lee started bouncing on the balls of her feet.

“Dude! You didn’t tell my you guys had food from Earth!”

Xylo looked at her in confusion. “You mean plaliato sticks? They are not from Terran.”

Lee looked at Xylo with glee in her eyes. “Are they fried and salted?” Xylo nodded, confused. Lee laughed. “They’re french fries. Holy fuck you guys have french fries.“ She was practically jumping with excitement. “We must both have potatoes on our planets. Do you guys have mashed potatoes? Baked potatoes? Twice baked?

Xylo stared. They had made the connection that plaliatos and potatoes were the same thing but for Jaxon’s sake, why would you mash one and eat it? Or “bake” it? Whatever that meant.

It wasn’t until a few days later when the subject of potatoes came up again. This time, a plaliato had exploded in the kitchen at breakfast just as the two got in line. Xylo cursed, and Lee’s eyebrows creased in worry. “What was that?”

“Just a plaliato.” Xylo explained. “They explode from time to time.”

“Your potatoes explode?” Lee exclaimed. Xylo turned their head towards her, appalled.

“Your plaliatos don’t? Here, I’ll show you what it looks like.” Xylo ushered Lee in front of them so she could see the now ruined vegetable.

Lee raised an eyebrow in a gesture Xylo interpreted as "are you kidding?”

“Xy, that’s a baked potato.”

(Background info under the readmore for anyone who’s interested on how a dumb thing about potatoes came to be, something more serious next time)

Before I begin, I should mention in advance that, due in part to having ADHD, I have genuine difficulty putting my thoughts together in a concise manner, which can lead to very long posts.  I understand if that puts anyone off from reading further, as I’m not even sure I know how to express what I’m feeling right now.

As a person, I was raised to be open-minded.  I’ve never known any other way to be.  I come from a highly LGBT-positive (bisexuality runs on my mother’s side of the family, and my godfather is gay), Democratic family that allowed me to express myself however I wanted, and consume whatever media I wanted (I’ve been watching horror films since I was a toddler, and I’ve been allowed to have facial piercings since age 16, and wear whatever I chose).  My immediate family is comprised of people that have known abuse, and overcome it (rape, CSA, alcoholism).  We have also been familiar with poverty.  The state we live in–where I’ve spent my entire life–had never gone red until this past election.

Having been born in 1983, I was alive through most of the presidency of one of the absolute worst leaders to ever take office: Ronald Reagan.  I lived through both Bush administrations.  I remember the “Satanism Scare”, the original backlash against violent video games, and 90′s “political correctness”.  The AIDS epidemic had barely begun.  PSAs aimed at children did their damndest to try to reverse the fact that drug use had become “fashionable” in the 80′s, and they practically beat us over the head with them during every commercial break while watching our Saturday morning cartoons.  I have seen a lot of bullshit (meaning that I have a lot to compare our current situation to), and always–always–I thought it was from the “bad” guys.  The “other” people, with the “wrong” values.

In less than five years, I’ve come to see that bullshit doesn’t only come from one “side”.  I’ve become disenchanted with the groups I had placed my faith and trust in for most of my life.  I’ve found myself disappointed and irritated with many actions done in the name of the things I believe in.  I feel as though we’ve reached critical mass, and that the people I thought were on my side–the “good guys”–bear more responsibility for it than any of them will ever admit.

Can I just ask when the FUCK so many of us on the left turned into the equivalent of yesterday’s paranoid WASP soccer moms and religious zealots?  When did we become the racists, sexists, and bigots, pretending those labels don’t apply to us just because they’re aimed at “the other” demographics?  And when I say “us” on the left, I’m really not so sure I even want to be here anymore, because it’s become a shamefully toxic and manipulative environment where people actually try to justify threats of death and violence over inane, pointless things that mean fuck all to the world at large.  I sure as hell don’t want to be a “right-winger” (because, remember–I was taught those were the “bad guys”), so where does that leave people like me?  In the mindset of “You’re either with us, or against us”, being fair and objective isn’t allowed.

When Trump became president, our news media and college campuses became rife with cries of “fascism”.  Where?  An overcooked yam in a suit that’s (rightfully) been the center of derision and mockery since he became involved in the election?  THAT’S what’s threatening you??  I’m sorry, have you never read about the shit Reagan pulled?  If you want to know what legitimate fascism is, go talk to someone that lived through Ferdinand Marcos’ rule in the Philippines.

Let’s establish something here: Those neo-Nazis were always here, BUT they had been shamed into hiding.  Suddenly, people were throwing the terms “Nazi” and “fascism” around, and these people started feeling more comfortable.  Those on the left started advocating for violence to combat mere differences of opinion, and white supremacists felt even more comfortable, because they were being shown that their methods were now socially acceptable.

People on the LEFT created the ideal environment for these people to crawl out of the woodwork, and feel like their belief system is validated and justified.  People on the LEFT spouted needless hatred, and gave these political cretins something to point to and say, “See?  We were right all along!”.  People on the LEFT willingly handed them the kind of antisocial behavior they’ve been dreaming of.

We’re now all experiencing the consequences.  If the Democratic Party had given Bernie Sanders the nomination, he would have steamrolled the election, and you all know it.  Then where would the “fascism” be?  Still hiding.  Cowering.  Not a single soul would be throwing that word around right now.  And no one’s willing to admit that maybe–just maybe–the Democratic candidate we were given could have been the problem.  We’ve created an environment where criticism is not allowed against certain people, which makes it so much easier for our trust to be abused.

And it is being abused.  We are approaching legitimate fascism, and it’s coming from the complete opposite end of the political spectrum.  This is where the careless throwing around of serious terms comes into play, as even the slightest criticism is enough to have a person labeled “alt-right”, or even “a Nazi”.  All this does is make actual neo-Nazis and white supremacists believe they have more company and support than they actually do.  If you’re not ashamed and embarrassed as hell about all of this, then, well…you’re probably not the type that’s even read this far in the first place.

I don’t know what else I can say that I haven’t said in pieces before.  All I can say is that I’ve lost faith in a lot of people.  Nearly ALL people.  And for someone that used to be very cheerful and social, I feel as though a part of me has been taken away.  Many of us are forced to be distrustful, even when we’ve nothing to hide.  When the bar for what is deemed “socially unacceptable” keeps being lowered, how long before it reaches you?  And when will the limit end on what we consider “hate speech”?  When you turn valid criticism against needless violence into “hate speech”, how long before it reaches those “vent posts” and “critical” blogs?  Because I’ve legit seen someone use the term “hate crime” because someone else didn’t ship the same two fictional video game characters together, and if you think those things are comparable, you are completely proving my point.

Alya wakes up with her heart in her throat and her hands tearing at her hair. She groans and rests her forehead on her knees.

If only he’d shut up.

She checks the time. It’s only three, because of course it’s unreasonable to ask for a full night’s sleep. She stays where she is for a little while longer, curled up in a ball and hugging a pillow, letting her heart rate level out and her head slow its spin. When she stops feeling like she’ll throw up if she moves, she slides out of bed and pads into the bathroom.

Alya avoids the floorboards that creak and is careful to close the door softly, but it doesn’t really matter. After a few months, her family got used to her getting up at strange hours and wandering around the house. Once she stopped screaming, it was easier for them to sleep through her nightmares.

Logan’s Character Development

Do you ever notice how, in Thomas’ vines, the “teacher character” (aka Logic/Logan) is really fun, childish, and free-spirited?

But in the Sanders Sides videos, or at least, the later Sanders Sides videos, Logan is very serious and professional, rarely ever acting childish?

What if, when vine ended, Logan looked back on all the vines he was in, for nostalgia’s sake, and the only thing he saw was how much time he wasted goofing off?

How much time he spent being silly rather than teaching his class, how he’d deprived those students of a proper education with his ridiculous antics.

How he’d failed.

He desperately wanted to try again, to teach his class properly, to make it up to them, but he couldn’t.

Vine was over, he could no longer teach them.

He wished he’d taught his class better, he wished he’d been more responsible, but he wasn’t.

He knew he had to be serious from now on, he had to be professional.

“I’m always serious, clearly, I wear a necktie!”

The only thing he could do now to make it up to his class was to help Thomas become more responsible and mature.

Which is why he was so strict in the “Growing Up” video, why he was so hesitant to ask Morality for his input, and then hesitant to listen to his input.

Thomas:”I’m doing this both of us, this is the only way to achieve my goals. Once I have everything I want, then we’ll both be happy.”
Logan:”That’s right-wait what do you mean? Is this new lifestyle not filling you with enjoyment?”
Thomas:”No, but it will… eventually… hopefully.”
Logan:”I… I don’t… think we have this…quite right. Morality,… what are we doing… wrong?”
Morality:”Well, I do think you’re trying to do what’s right, but life shouldn’t be lived without enjoying the simple pleasures from time to time! Goals are great, but life is short, might as well make it short and fantastic, Like Danny Devito!”

Morality’s words reminded Logan of his true self, a part of him that connected him to Thomas more, his childish side.

The part of him he’d been suppressing for so long because he didn’t think it ‘fit’ with the rest of him. Because he saw it as something obstructing him from adequately performing his job, a job of being productive and efficient,

But Morality’s words made him long for the child-like spirit he used to have, the spirit he now sees in Morality.

But since Logan’s more mature, his child-like spirit isn’t ‘silly, ridiculous antics’ anymore.

It’s the excitement he gets over explaining something to the others, the pride he feels in himself when he’s praised, and the happiness he gets from understanding how one can enjoy cartoons while still keeping his fascination for the world around him.

We can see the change happening now, and slowly, but surely, Logan’s child-like spirit is coming back, all thanks to Morality.

Friends? (Stiles Stilinski imagine)

Summary: You are in love with your best friend and maybe - just maybe - he feels the same way.

Based off the prompt: “Wait, no, don’t take off my hoodie. I love the way it looks on you.” from this prompt list.

Warnings: one minor curse word and fluff that might make your heart explode. (I’m serious, this is extremely cheesy).

Word Count: 3.6k

A/N: I love love, and I think it shows. The question on everyone’s lips: will I ever stop writing the best-friends-turned-lovers trope? To that there is only one answer - no. I love it too much. As always, I hope you enjoy reading!

“I was right,” Stiles announced, a smug expression glued to his face. Adamantly, you shook your head, rubbing the tops of your arms as you attempted a grimace.

“I’m fine.” To prove your point, you held your arms out. A rush of cold air instantly attached to your exposed skin, and you had to hold back a shiver. “I can handle this, Stiles.”

“Mhmm,” he hummed, obviously doubting your words. “Let’s carry on then - unless you’d like to admit defeat.”

“I’ll never give you that satisfaction.” Slinging your hand around your best friend’s arm, you pulled him down the crowded street.

It was Scott’s birthday in a few weeks, so you’d decided to drag Stiles along on your quest to find the perfect gift. The three of you had been friends for years, but neither you nor Stiles could think of a present that Scott would like so it had seemed logical to team up.

When Stiles had shown up at your door, thick hoodie over his torso, you’d laughed - the sun had been out, a warm breeze filling the air. He’d replied with the prediction that it’d cloud over and go chilly and, sure enough, the weather had done exactly that.

“We should try a bookshop. Maybe they’ll have something on veterinary medicine,” you suggested. Stiles shrugged, allowing himself to be pulled around the shopping district.

You’d been surprised when he agreed to come with you - Stiles was never one who normally enjoyed the pleasures of recreational shopping - but you’d began to notice that he was making a conscious effort to spend more time with you. You’d initially put it down as him simply wanting to bond with you before you split off to go to college, but you were beginning to wonder if there was some type of ulterior motive at play.
