Are greyhounds biddable?

My first response to this was LOL because Lio will literally do nothing for free. Well, actually, that’s not entirely true because lately I’ve been meeting him head on when he refuses to offer me his paw to put on his boots before we walk. Usually he won’t hand it over until I offer him kibble, but I figured out this week that if I stand my ground for long enough with my hand outstretched that he will eventually give me his paw.

Racing greyhounds are bred and trained to run: run fast and to run with great focus. That doesn’t usually equal biddable. I’d never trust Lio off-leash and it is really hard to break his focus once something catches his attention. He is typically focused on me most of the time (like staring at me from across the room no matter what I’m doing) but I’m preeeeetty sure that’s due to a built up association between me and food.

That being said, we work hard on our leave it command and after two and a half years together, if I catch Lio right before he zeros in on a target (which can be anything from another dog, a small animal, garbage on the ground, a familiar car, or people), he will leave it which I’m super proud of. But keep in mind: two and a half years of consistent and strict training on this command. And he’ll only listen when I give the command.

But with THAT being said, I really have to emphasize something I’ve said repeatedly in the past: greyhounds are a very diverse group. All of this is specific to Lio and I’m not comfortable generalizing it to other greys. Some people have pretty reliably biddable dogs. The first one that comes to mind is @noodle-shrimps Loki.

If you’re interested in adopting a retired racer, I wouldn’t go into it needing a biddable dog because that’s a risky gamble. Maybe you could work with your adoption group to find a particularly biddable greyhound but even then I would wonder about how the transition from track life to home life may affect their biddability.

Channel+ is the most f*cked up thing. I was so happy for Vapp at first because it was a way to get closer to your favorite group, to communicate with them and so on, but ever since Bon Voyage I feel like they´re gonna make us pay more and more, and now I even feel more further away from BTS, it´s like I just have to pay for everything, like you can´t get nothing free in this fucked up world. I just ugh sorry but I got these feelings and I needed someone to tell to

oh no im so sorry love :( i dont know too much about what the benefits of channel+ are but! i know people will always stream things and save videos on here~

if theres other cool communication benefits maybe you and your friends could app pitch in and just share the account? all have the same login~ at least itll be abit cheaper!

haikyuu!! karasuno music taste headcanons
  • Daichi – U2 is his favorite, and he enjoys anything that can be classified as dad rock. also enjoys some 80s/90s first wave alternative like R.E.M. and The Cure, but grunge is too edgy for him so Nirvana is where he draws the line
  • Suga – Coldplay fanboy. don’t bring up A Rush of Blood to the Head, he’ll be talking for days. also enjoys singer songwriters like Jazon Mraz and Ed Sheeran. he’s open to most everything Daichi likes, and goes to Daichi for recommendations when he needs a little variety
  • Asahi – loves Sufjan Stevens and feels connected to him on a spiritual level. also listens to Wilco, Bon Iver, Neutral Milk Hotel, Björk, the sound of his tears slowly dripping into his dark roast, 4′33″ by John Cage literally at all times
  • Noya – EDM. he doesn’t know the names of any of the artists or songs. he just pulls up a playlist on spotify or pandora and puts it on shuffle
  • Tanaka – heavy metal and gangster rap. nothing in between. whichever he’s listening to depends on his mood. and what music for what mood? no one knows or wants to find out
  • Ennoshita – similar taste Suga, also enjoys Coldplay a lot and piano rock in general, such as Keane, Augustana, Five for Fighting, etc. he and Suga and Daichi are always recommending stuff to each other
  • Kags – Imagine Dragons
  • Hinata – top 40. isn’t really much of a music guy. he mostly turns on the radio for background noise or something.
  • Tsukishima – he’s always listened to Akiteru likes. mostly alternative stuff like Young the Giant, Death Cab for Cutie, Manchester Orchestra. his favorite band is Weezer, but exclusively their lo-fi earlier stuff, namely the blue album
  • Yamaguchi – tries to enjoy what Tsukki likes but isn’t emo enough so he mostly sticks to Ed Sheeran. if he tries to talk to Tsukki about music, Tsukki will usually go off on some kind of rant or critique and he’ll get lost

bonus:

  • Ukai – shamelessly obsessed with Dave Matthews Band
  • Kuroo – ironically listened to what Tsukishima likes so that he could make fun of him for it, but ended up liking it as well
  • Bokuto – no one really knows actually
  • Oikawa – you’ve never heard of them anyway

i know y’all are trying to be nice in uploading the content from the bundles for free for the people who dont have the means to get it, but really i find it kind of fucked up. the whole purpose of putting out this extra content only available through purchase is partially to help raise funds so that carmilla can make a better movie as kotex hasn’t backed them as far as i know.

a movie they’re making for us.

i understand how badly some of y’all want to see this content. i get it. but once links to the extra content are put out there for free, why would anyone else go and buy it later unless they really just feel like being nice. essentially, in the long run, you’re helping to steal money from both the creators, the crew, and the cast and the movie they’re planning on making.

and i find that pretty fucked up considering the amount of content they have right on youtube for free.
