Personal Yuri on Ice Fic Rec List
I’m back again. This is Part Six. I’ve recced so many other fics in posts for Part One, Part Two, Part Three, Part Four, Part Five, Part Seven, Part Eight, Part Nine, and Part Ten (check my #fic rec tag).
1. Take Hold
“I believe…” Yuuri says, pensive. “I believe that when you’re connected to another person so closely that you share a soul, it’s stupid to think that you wouldn’t feel it. How can you not recognize part of yourself when they’re standing right in front of you?” “That's…I…yes.” Viktor tries to untie his tongue, mouth suddenly arid. “You—I think you would know, yes.” Yuuri skates onto the ice and Viktor’s soul screams after him, Do you know? Can you see me? I’m here, I’m here.
2. In Our Dreams
Victor Nikiforov, the Junior World Figure Skating Gold Medalist, has a secret skill. He has the ability to dreamwalk; to visit the minds of others while his body sleeps. The evening after his Junior Worlds exhibition performance he finds himself in the mind of a young Japanese skater, Yuri Katsuki. He feels the boy’s awe at watching the performance, and is overwhelmed at Yuri’s desire to skate against the Russian one day.
3. The Next Level
It’s not that Yuuri thought winning silver in Barcelona was the easy part. It’s just he didn’t expect what came next to be so much harder.
A story in which two sets of best friends road trip across America together.
5. Different Names For The Same Thing
Yuuri moves to Saint Petersburg. His anxiety, of course, moves with him.
6. Just Hold On (We’re Going Home)
Where Yuuri remembers the banquet, Viktor forgets, and Yakov Feltsman has his own plans.
7. Katsuki Yuuri, Unintentional Heartthrob
No-one in their right mind would fall in love with Katsuki Yuuri. At least that’s what he thinks. The core members of the Official Katsuki Yuuri Fan Club™ would beg to differ. They would also like to humbly remind Viktor Nikiforov that he is still on his probationary period and his membership will be revoked if he does not get his shit together.
8. Of Bright Stars and Burning Hearts
Viktor doesn’t remember the first time he met Yuuri Katsuki. This, however, is what Viktor does remember…
9. i will work, i will give thanks
Yuuri skips the Sochi banquet. Minako tries her hand at coaching. Victor stays in Russia (at first, anyway).
10. i wanna be (the best you’ve ever known)
All Viktor actually wants is to spoil Yuuri. Apparently, he’s not able to spoil Yuuri so much as he seems able to spoil things with Yuuri. It is terribly unfair. Perhaps the universe actually has it out for him.
11. the perfect gift (for the man who has everything)
It’s Yuuri’s birthday again, and Yuuri has forbidden Victor from spending any money on a gift. Victor is equally determined to get Yuuri the best gift of all time. Nobody has any helpful advice at all.
12. it’s the side effects that save us
After a sudden personal tragedy and a narrow defeat at the Grand Prix Final, Viktor is ready to throw it all away—until he sees a video of the skater who beat him performing the free skate he couldn’t.
13. waiting on you is too hard
Victor spends a year trying to figure out what his relationship with Yuri is exactly. He’s not very successful, until he is, and then it’s all worth it.
14. the “real” victor nikiforov
So, fine, maybe Yuuri’s a little bored and lonely when he likes a dating profile claiming to be Viktor Nikiforov. And, maybe, he’s a little pathetic when he gets excited when the account messages him almost immediately after. And, he’s definitely stupid for falling in love with someone pretending to be his idol, but he can’t help it. It’s not like it’s the real Viktor Nikiforov, anyway. He knows someone is catfishing him, but he still falls ridiculously in love.
15. scherzo rondo
Half past ten in the morning is still too early to have an angry teenager attempt to batter your front door down, as far as Yuuri is concerned, but when that angry teenager is demanding help in throwing a surprise together for his grandfather’s birthday, there’s not a lot to be done.
WE’RE GETTING A MOVIE. *Cries happy tears*
