I only started watching Skam about 7 months ago, nevertheless it grew to me so much, so fast. There are about a million reasons why I love Skam so much, but this isn´t about that.
The final Skam clip just got released, Skam season 4 has ended and, even though a small piece of me is still in denial, so did Skam.
And that´s why I want to say “Thank you” to Skam and everyone involved!
Thank you for the way you portrayed these amazing Characters, that we all love s deeply!
Thank you for leaving them what they are supposed to be: Teenager, Students with imperfections (that make them not any less perfect) and struggles – struggles of a normal teenager, who is slowly discovering himself (e.g. discovering who you are, who you love or who you believe in), but also everyday struggles (those might be someone eating your food, that you´ve been excited to eat all day or having to pass an important exam) and painful struggles (like bullying, rejections or eating disorders).
Thank you for letting us be part of their journey of growing up and seeing not only their “happy, party” side, but also the side, one chooses to keep for themselves, the “depressed, heartbroken and scared” side.
Another thank you goes to the Interaction between the characters. There was barely fights between the friends, no big unrealistic drama, no, they chose to rather stand up, support and help for each other, like friends.
I can´t even put into words how much I love these characters and choosing a favourite is as close as impossible.
Thank you for being bold and using important, yet so often ignored, topics (e.g. Islam, feminism, coming out/ being gay). So many shows choose to act as if they don´t exist or choose to stick with the stereotypes. But you, a “small” norwegian series, decided to rather take those topics and represent them with heart, passion and truth. All that representation meant a lot to me and I´m very thankful about you giving it to us!
Thank you for making this experience as real as possible. This starts by the cast being about the same age as their characters back to the characters visualisation(they didn´t look “flawless” 24/7, they didn´t had a wardrobe that seemed to have no ending or the perfect skin and body), over to the characters social media accounts and texts, that made you feel even more involved, and last but not least the Clipsystem, that made my life at one side stressful, because you never knew when the next clip would be dropped- but once a new one go released the excitement was even bigger.
Thank you to all the Actors and Actresses for always giving your very best and playing those beloved characters. Thank you for always being kind and loving to the fans, even though we might be a little overwhelming at times. You all are amazing! I wish you the very best for your future, may all of you manage to make your dreams come true and be happy.
Thank you to Julie Andem for creating all of this in the first place. Thank you for making Skam what it is, for putting so much time and effort in the history of these characters, in the stories and the production. Without you none of us would have ever gotten to see this great show!!
Thank you for these beautiful, pure couples! All of them grew so close to me and I hope the future will hold the best for all of them. I hope Evak will have a long and happy life in their small home with yellow curtains, Noorhelm will be happy and keep making each other a better person. I hope Vilde and Magnus stay happy together too and helping each other when life gets difficult and to end this with the girl it all started with: Eva, I hope she´ll be happy and finding the love she deserves
Besides all of this thank you for giving me, someone who isn´t from norway or another scandinavian country, the chance to see a different culture, a different language and the way people live in Norway!
And one last big THANK YOU to all the fans, who spent their free time with translating clips, episodes, texts and writing transcripts. Without you most of us wouldn´t have been able to watch Skam at all!!

AU where all vers of the ninja are just the Ninjas' siblings.
So like. All the Bizarro ninjas are just the Ninjas’ twins. And the Bizarro ninjas are the older twins.
All the versions of Zane (Echo, Titanium, Human, and Cryptor) are all brothers. Echo being the youngest, Titanium the second youngest, Cryptor, human Zane, and then Bizarro Zane being the oldest (by like 4 minutes)
Young Lloyd, Lloyd, and possessed Lloyd are all brothers. And fight all the time. Possessed Lloyd is the emo brother™ and is the oldest.
I just like the idea of all of them being related and existing at the same time. :‘l
I ilke drawing and painting SO SO SO much. But I can't do it good. I want to draw so bad but It's really bad like can't draw a stickman. I tried to draw figures before but that hair oh my god... Do you have any suggestions because you're my favourite artist and I'm in love with your art. Thanks a lot.
I’m so honored to be considered one of your favorite artists and I’m glad you like my art! There’s honestly so much I could say, but the main thing is being persistent in practicing! Think of your skill level like the skill bars in a sim game, every doodle or finished drawing you do increases your skill bar! If you message, me I can totally explain more to you if you’d like, but I’d rather not write an essay through an ask LOL
What really sucks about the way Joss Whedon writes is that he sort of has this idea that if he writes about women being strong and confident, that is all it takes for women to appreciate his work. Like, even if the villain constantly belittles a woman for being a woman and people are constantly harassing her and sexualizing her, it’s okay because she’s strong and she can take it.
The biggest difference between Whedon’s version of Wonder Woman and Jenkins is that in Whedon’s version Wonder Woman is A Woman. She (and the audience) must be constantly aware that she is a Woman, that she is Sexy, that she is overcoming incredible odds because she has the terrible disadvantage of Being Born A Woman.
Whereas in Jenkins’ film Diana simply exists. There are some points made by other characters about her being a woman, like when Steve won’t sleep with her because he feels it’s improper, or when his secretary says, “Oh yes, put specs on her, like after that she won’t be the most beautiful woman you’ve ever seen”, but Diana is almost completely unaware of her status as a Dreaded Woman. Her excitement over a baby? She’s literally never seen one before. Her little makeover seen? Spends the whole thing looking for something comfortable she can fight in. She basically never mentions the difference between men and women, never even says that women are better or whatever because she was raised by them.
Joss Whedon would have never let Wonder Woman forget she was a Woman. She would have constantly been making comments about it, wether positive or negative, as would everyone around her. In Whedon’s heyday that might have flown a lot better, but now women seem to be a little sick of grrrrl power. They just want power. They just want to exist, both on screen and in life, without constant reminders that they are Women and that they must pay for that at every turn.

This is kind of personal to me because i was made to feel ashamed for being autistic but there’s nothing to be ashamed of and people need to stop mocking those with autism when they have no clue what autism is. People with it have nothing to feel bad about x
So one thing i’ve noticed about Shiro that i totally and absolutely adore for several reasons (one of them being that it lines up with my hc that Shiro would be an epic Cedric Diggory type hufflepuff in an hp au) is that Shiro is not an OVERprotective type.
Lemme explain why this is good and how.
We know that Shiro is protective of those he loves, I’m not saying he isn’t protective (AHEM STEPPING IN FOR MATT) but what i am saying is that Shiro isn’t SO protective that he belittles the strength and abilities of the people he cares about; which is a trait too often glorified in heroes, especially concerning the male hero to the female.
Exhibit A) S01E10. Allura says that she’s going with them to break into the space base and everyone’s looking at Shiro like “dude you can’t let the princess join us on a such a dangerous mission”
and Shiro’s just like “sure, why not?”
while everyone else reacts like this:
Obviously, because of genre expectations, we would expect Shiro to say something along the lines of “no way we can’t endanger the princess like that” so it comes as a bit of a surprise, a good one of course, when instead of insisting Allura can’t come that he has no issues with it. He doesn’t even look conflicted, he has no idea why Allura shouldn’t be allowed to come! That’s because our little cinnamon role knows what’s up and he understands that Allura is strong, capable woman. At the very least he knows that he has no good reason to assume otherwise (even though there’s some pretty funny scenes once they’re in the base and Allura doesn’t even know how to hold a gun). But you get my point.
To summarize Exhibit A: This scene is a VERY REFRESHING change from the standard “i must protect the princess, the princess is incapable of protecting herself, which means i’m the only one allowed to do dangerous things” narrative. Shiro does not judge a person’s adequacy based on unfounded preconceptions. This is a SUPER important quality in a leader. Also, this means he isn’t sexist.
Exhibit B) S02E12.
Keith offers to be the one to go into the ship to make sure what was supposed to be Thace’s job gets done. Kolivan says it’s a suicide mission and that he would never command anyone so inexperienced do it when Keith replies:
And of course Shiro, being the head of Voltron, is the next person who would have a say in this - who should be the one to talk Keith down. But he doesn’t. Instead he says this:
This demonstrates that Shiro, understanding who Keith is, knows that there is no stopping Keith which means the best thing for Shiro to do is make sure Keith gets to the ship safely.
This is very similar to what he did with Allura. He doesn’t stop her from going on the mission, but insists he goes with her (i didn’t touch on that above but we know that happened).
So let’s just talk about what this means for a second. Shiro cares about Keith. We know he’s totally worried about Keith’s safety because he LITERALLY has to take a breath to COMPOSE HIMSELF before he says this. He does not want Keith to do this, he does not want anyone for that matter to be risking their lives. But this is war. I’m sure Shiro wishes for nothing more than to be able to trust that Thace will do his part. But Keith can’t rely on that, and Shiro knows that he can’t either. And they shouldn’t because they can’t be taking any chances with this fight.
So Shiro lets Keith do what Keith needs to do, what they all need Keith to do. Shiro chooses to trust Keith’s abilities, and doesn’t undermine Keith’s determination. This whole war is bigger than all of them! Keith is not just Shiro’s probably younger friend, Keith is a fellow paladin of Voltron. Keith is his equal, not some helpless child who needs to be kept out of harm’s way and given the least dangerous task because he has no right to be involved or because he doesn’t want Keith to get hurt.
So Shiro says “I’ll give you cover.” Because Shiro protects those he cares about. And because he REALLY TRULY cares about Keith, and Allura, and everyone, he knows what they’re capable of. He trusts them. He doesn’t let his need to protect them belittle them.
OVERALL: I just think this says so much about Shiro and the type of hero role he plays, especially as a leader it is so important that his protective side is not also oppressive. Shiro’s the kind of guy who would die WITH his friends, not just the classic FOR his friends. Shiro doesn’t undermine the people he loves like that, they’re all his equal, they are all capable human (or not human or half human) beings.
If the people he loves wants to fight then they deserve to fight, that’s their right and not his decision to make. But he sure as hell doesn’t have to let them do it alone so he goes with them. He helps them however he can.
And quick flashback to the Matt situation. The only reason Shiro stepped in like that was because Matt clearly did not want to go into the ring. I think if for whatever reason Matt really wanted to fight that dude (maybe for his own revenge or something) Shiro wouldn’t have taken that away from him. But Matt was not ready, Matt was freaking out and Matt did not want to fight. So Shiro did it for him cuz THAT is the Shiro way.
(sorry this was probably way longer than necessary, I’m not very concise but I haven’t seen a post about this so i thought i’d try my hand at making one)
