not sure if i'm ever going to get over this scene

Little things from 2x19 that I notice as I rewatch:

  • when alex is being extra and just rips her fire alarm off the wall she uses a stepping stool and i’m 100% sure she bought that for maggie after she started sleeping over and alex realised she couldn’t reach anything in the apartment
  • they’re domesticity has leveled up a notch i mean “don’t wait up for me” directly implies that maggie comes and goes as she pleases and probably regularly stays over at alex’s as she waits for her to come back from deo missions etc because she needs to know alex made it home safe, she needs to be there if things go sideways on a mission and most of all being surrounded by alex’s things (by their things) she feels warmer and safer than she ever could in her own apartment (they’re so moving in together at the end of the season)
  • maggie has now referred to alex as ‘sweetie’ and ‘babe’ and i personally headcanon that she loves to use those and other little pet names a lot but only when they’re in private
  • maggie has extensively thought about a future with alex including but not limited to more valentine’s days together, vacationing together, fighting over dishwashers and having a dog (who will NOT be named gertrude if maggie has anything to say about it!)
  • maggie definitely uses deo tech to break that guy out of prison which means she has access somehow and i for one would like to believe that she didn’t sign an access forms, nope,  everyone knows that she’s badass agent alex danvers girlfriend and normally maggie doesn’t really like breaking rules unless its necessary but a grenade is definitely considered necessary, so she threatens the guards all “well alex gave me permission, i mean you can ask her but i hear she can do some pretty mean things with her fingers if you piss her off ya know” and next thing ya know she’s walking out of the tech room with like 6 different gadgets hidden in her jacket looking like a kid on christmas day
  • when they save alex and kara says “you held on” and alex says “i held on” right after if you listen carefully you can hear maggie whisper back “you held on” in a tone of disbelief because she was really starting to believe that they might not get to alex in time and she would have lost the most important person in her entire world
  • i’m also relatively sure floriana was standing on a box in that last scene with kara where they hug because from the angle she looks almost head to head with kara but we know melissa is even taller than chyler so that’s just not realistic

Hi, what do you mean by "the opening of 2x14 was a deliberate negative parallel to Alex and Maggie’s scene from 2x09 in every respect" I'm not sure the writers are trying to be negative on purpose. I genuinely think they are oblivious.

I’m going to address that last sentence before I answer: being frustrated with a storyline because you don’t like it or don’t understand its purpose does not mean the person who created it is bad at their job. It just means you disagree.

That said, let me expand upon what I meant:

Kara’s morning-after scene with Mon-El in 2x14 intentionally juxtaposes Alex’s morning-after scene with Maggie from 2x09.

Similarities: both scenes start with similar background music and we can tell that it’s morning. The first person we see enter the frame is each girl’s respective love interest, but the girls themselves are somewhere offscreen. Both scenes also contain similar establishing shots of the bedrooms in disarray – at Alex’s we see the empty bed with pillows scattered on the floor and the blankets a mess; at Kara’s we see clothing scattered on the floor leading to the bed.

Now, differences:

When do you think Lexa started having feelings for Clarke? Btw I looooooveee the stuff you write <3

I have no doubt that this is when Lexa developed feelings for Clarke. Before their “adventure” with Pauna, the way I see it, Clarke had already evoked intense feelings in Lexa, though not romantic. Everyone has a different opinion about Clarke and Lexa, but no one can say they were ever indifferent to each other.

Lexa is captivated by Clarke from the moment they meet. She is wary but she is intrigued, she is interested, she is fascinated. This young woman fallen from the sky is her enemy and yet Lexa can’t deny the similarities between them. That interest quickly turns into respect. After Clarke kills Finn, Lexa stays with her during the whole funeral and at the end she opens up to Clarke, sharing her painful past and her way of trying to cope with that pain. Love is weakness. We know that in reality Lexa feels A LOT, but that’s not my point here. My point is that, in the only way she knows, she tries to support Clarke. Lexa’s philosophy in later episodes is analyzed in relation to both hers and Clarke’s leadership roles, but in that scene the focus is curiously on their personal feelings. Love, pain, grief. And sure, Lexa is such a wonderfully nuanced character that she manages to also tackle the struggles of leadership during her brief exchange with Clarke, but her first and main focus there is on Clarke’s feelings. She offers her what little comfort she can by revealing to Clarke that she experienced that same loss, that same pain, and by giving her a suggestion to deal with that pain. Lexa wouldn’t open up like that with anyone. She feels a connection with Clarke, right from the start, and probably stronger than she even realizes. That funeral scene is a game changer. It’s a step towards something, but no one knows what that ‘something’ is yet.

It’s not a coincidence that at the beginning of the following episode, this happens.

And then Lexa saves Clarke’s life and Clarke saves Lexa’s and they end up trapped together and Clarke tends to her wounded arm and I could go on forever listing everything that happens between them in that episode. As they are stuck together Clarke proceeds to amuse Lexa with her stubbornness and fire, to impress her with her intelligence and resourcefulness, to touch her with her kindness.

And after Clarke finds a way to get them out, they stop to rest and Lexa spends the night watching over Clarke. She is injured and in pain, but she stays awake and alert and ready to protect Clarke. I can’t get over how beautiful this entire scene is, how intimate. From Clarke’s immediate concern for Lexa. “How’s your arm?” to Lexa admitting to Clarke she was wrong and recognizing her value and strength. I won’t talk about that here, I’ll leave that for another post. But by the end of the scene… we get this.

And this is the moment I believe Lexa realized she had feelings for Clarke. PS. I remember Kim, I think, making a comment about how the heart-eyes were at least in part in the script, so this look is intentional. Yeah, Lexa tries to close her heart and not to care, but you can literally see in her eyes that she realized it’s far too late not to care about Clarke.

The Future/(is now)

I can’t believe this is something I saw with my own two eyeballs, because apparently all that’s happened so far wasn’t coincidence, or carelessness - apparently Dabb watched Season 8 and made a deliberate bet with someone - he’d make it gayer, or else. And so here it is, (almost) out of the subtext (Sorry, Dean and You can’t just go dark like that. We didn’t know what happened to you. We were worried. That’s not okay and I needed to come back here with a win for you and We’re just better together and I’d like that and THE TAAAAAAAPE). Honest to God, I think I read twenty versions of that fight yesterday as people scrambled to write pre-codas out of nerves and excitement, and they were all magnificent and yet, somehow, less shippy and less obvious and less romantic than what actually happened on the show, wtf? And Dean sulking in his room, Cas knocking at his door, hesitating, coming in?

I swear to God - when Dean called him back, when he started telling Cas all those things - for a second, I actually believed he would yank on Cas’ tie and kiss him, because that’s always, always what happens in that scenario. Or, you know, Dean gets overwhelmed by his own feelings, by how much he’s just showed his hand here, and walks away. That’s also textbook fanfiction, and yeah, so it’s fluff instead of angst, but, come on - this is Supernatural - did anyone doubt it’d be angsty? Let’s just hope in a happy ending, because that Kelly voiceover (I love you. But we won’t ever be together. There is no happy ending for either of us.) gave me the creeps.

And what about the mind control, someone might argue. Mind control, schmind control. That’s like, the number one Prove that you love me forever and ever trope, and even if we’ve seen it before (if simply because Destiel has been built with every single love trope in the book, and, in this case, they used it over and over and over again), we’ve never seen its final form. During the crypt scene, Cas deflected instead of admitting the obvious (let’s be generous: maybe he didn’t know himself), and in the Bunker, Dean just barely managed not to kill Cas, and had to walk away before the Mark overpowered him, so no, that was not a good time either. So this thing we’ve been promised for a while - this My love for you is stronger than time or tide or evil curse - is yet to come, and with the way things are going, I’m feeling pretty optimistic.

Also: however Dean will read this when he wakes up, Cas is choosing love, and he’s choosing free will. He went to Heaven hoping they’d have a way out of this mess so that Sam and Dean would be safe, he stole the Colt so they couldn’t face Dagon and be hurt (which is text, by the way, not subtext), he went against orders because he felt that was the right thing to do (a human feeling, because angels are created for a mission), he stayed away from Sam and Dean to protect them - all of that is unangelic behaviour, and man, Dean and Cas are going to get into so many fights, aren’t they, because Cas learned how to love from Dean, and that means he’s got that same kind of stubborn, maternal, overbearing way to love Dean has, which means lots of I didn’t tell you because I love you and I walked away because I love you and I booped you to sleep because I love you and I really hope Sam’s going to stay out of the way, because there will be a lot of storming through corridors and huffing and outrage and Can you believe that bastard and it will be absolutely glorious.

As for the rest of it - though, to be perfectly honest, I barely noticed a ‘rest of it’ because my eyeballs were glued to the unbelievable Gay Feelfest unfolding in front of me - I’m really happy with it. I’m happy we’re finally talking Big Things again - Could either of you kill an innocent, do our parents determine our destiny, is there such a thing as innate character, and so on - and I’m happy with the insight we were given both in Kelly’s and in Dagon’s minds, and why they do what they do. I loved every scene Cas and Kelly had together, that kind of, We’re not heroes, and we may be worthless, but we’re what’s left vibe, and Cas’ smile when the baby was kicking, and I like where they’re going, how they’ll try to get this pregnancy to term. Sure, this baby’s got a lot against him - he’s Lucifer’s kid (although, we still don’t know who and what Lucifer was before he was forced to carry the Mark), and one of his temper tantrums could possibly destroy the Earth, but, then again, so could a lot of other things - he’s not special (to quote a famous tumblr post). And if we’re going with free will and self-determination of our own destiny, then we should have the courage not to nitpick: everyone should be able to decide for themselves, and this baby is no exception.

(I mean, think about it. He’s clearly able to give anyone extraordinary powers - he gave Cas enough ammo to take down a bloody Prince of Hell - so he could have chosen anyone as his protector. He could have picked Dagon, he could have stuck with Kelly, he could have chosen any lesser demon or angel or random doctor they’ve been in contact with over the last few weeks - and yet he chose Cas, and Cas - as we’ve known for a while - is the curiosity, the abomination, the miracle: the angel who can love. No, I want to believe we’re headed towards good things here - narratively or otherwise.)

Final point: again, I know it’s not ideal to carry around a nuclear warhead in your belly, but the beginning of this episode gave me heavy The Handmaiden’s flashbacks (superb show, by the way, go watch it), so the fact they’re giving Kelly some kind of choice - that’s uplifting. Because yeah, maybe she’s slightly brainwashed, but this isn’t like any kind of brainwash I’ve ever seen on the show, because both Kelly and Cas are also lucid, completely themselves. They resemble most closely what Dean was like when he lost his memories, and I think now I’m going to go and cry forever at the implications. But hey, at least Cas’ got his own room at the Bunker and Yes, dumbass - we

anonymous asked:

Do you think Clarke had already subconsciously fallen for Bellamy when she was with Finn and Lexa? It seems like both Finn and Lexa had questioned her about this in an indirect manner.

Short answer: Yes.

Long answer:

The attraction has been there since season 1. That’s for sure. I mean look at her face. They were openly flirting in this scene.

And Finn saw that too.

I think she started having feelings (in a romantic sense of the word) for Bellamy in season 2. She asked specifically if Finn and Bellamy made it. Twice.  She put Bellamy on the same level as her love interest. (Did she ask for Monroe? Sterling? Octavia? No.)

She ran through the camp just to get to him and the hug… even Bellamy himself was shocked. Octavia noticed (”There’s something I thought I’d never see.” + her facial expression is also very telling) Damn just rewatch it. Pay a special attention to Clarke’s facial expressions. Compare Bellarke hug to Clarke/Octavia hug - that’s a massive difference.

Clarke still felt guilty for closing the door on Bellamy and Finn. That’s very evident in that scene by the fire in 2x05.  Bellamy offered her understanding. “It had to be done.” He made it very clear that he’s not holding it against her, that he understand why she did it. He reassured her she’d done the right thing. And that’s something Clarke needed at this moment. She was kinda on her own in the Mountain. She was suspicious and trying to get out while the other were trying to convince her they’re finally safe. Then she espaced with the knowledge she left them all behind in MW (which is not what happened but I’m pretty sure Clarke thought something like this). And then she reunited with Bellamy and suddenly she was not alone. She got her partner back.

And then in 2x05-2x08, they were back in their co-leaders mode. They were so in sync…. Since this episode (meaning 2x05) Bellamy is the person she trusts the most. The person who understands the burden of being a leader and carries it with her. She started falling for Bellamy in these episodes. She still had feelings for Finn but she was not exactly “with Finn”. She wasn’t Finn with since the moment Raven’d landed on the Earth.

The narrative backs me up in 2x09. Clarke just killed Finn and one of the first things she said to Bellamy in this episode is “I can’t lose you too.” Again, Bellamy is put at the same level as the person she’d said “I love you” just a few hours ago.Later in the episode L/xa (sorry guys but thi will show up in the tag anyway since the anon used the correct name) and Clarke had conversation about leading their people and L/xa confided a story of her lost love to Clarke. Clarke needed to stop the pain. She wanted to become a strong stoic leader and make sure she will never have to feel this way again so she built the walls around her heart and emotionally shut herself off. “Love is weakness.” And what is the first thing Clarke did? She sent Bellamy away with the words “I was being weak. It’s worth the risk.” This is Clarke trying to be like L/xa - strong leader devoid of emotions. And what is Clarke’s last line in this episode? “Love is weakness.” Hmmm interesting. So yeah I think she started realizing she has feelings for Bellamy in 2x09 but that’s one of the reasons she sent him away.

She realized her mistake pretty fast because basically all episode of 2b is Clarke being constantly worried about Bellamy (2x11 is a perfect example but it’s in every single episode). Yet she never stopped believing in Bellamy. She never doubted him. She always believed he’d succeed in this mission.

Even L/xa saw it and called Clarke out on her feelings for Bellamy. “You care about him.” “I care about all of them.” “Yet you worry about him more.” FUCK EVEN L/XA SAW IT.

“…besides, we lost contact with Bellamy.” she’s blinking the tears back again.

And their reunion in the tunnels in 2x16? Clarke is speechless, she’s just staring at Bellamy in wonder, blinking the tears back. She absolutely stunned and the relief is written all over her face.

Moving on…. she didn’t tell anyone else but Bellamy that she’s leaving (maybe expect for Monty). She didn’t even tell her mother. Anyways, did she kiss Monty goodbye? No, she didn’t.

Now for the second part of your question. I’d like to start by saying that Clarke probably spent plenty of time thinking about the delinquents and Bellamy in particular during those 3 months between s2 and s3. Now I’m talking about platonic Bellarke. She thought of him as her partner, friend, co-leader. Se thought of him as a person who pulled that lever with her.

And then she finally saw him again when he came to rescue her. He caressed her face and hair and she’s absolutely stunned. She just started at him with wide eyes. She begged for his life, her voice breaking and she’s do anything - even sacrificing her own life for him (don’t forget that she didn’t know Roan is taking her to Polis, she thought he’s taking her to Nia who wants to kill her). This scene kills me every damn time because it’s the least platonic shit I’ve ever seen. And Roan noticed (and as the season went on, he kept on noticing).

Then everything had changed because Roan brought her to Polis and Clarke was forced to play a role of Wanheda, She became a political figure. War was about to happen and Skaikru was in danger. She didn’t trust L/xa (for a good reason because obviously L/xa betrayed them before) so she had to stay to make sure L would keep her word AND SHE WASN’T READY TO COME BACK. NOT YET. That’s why she decided to stay in Polis in 3x03. If you watch the scene closely, you can see that the conversation with Bellamy wasn’t easy for Clarke. When he walked away, she had to take a moment to blink back the tears and take a deep breath before she was ready to turn around and play the role of wanheda again.

Since 3x04 she was falling for L/xa. But at the same time, she never stopped having feelings for Bellamy. It is possible to love two people at the same time. But I believe Clarke didn’t realize the true nature of her feelings for Bellamy.

One of my scene is definitely their argument in 3x05. I analyzed it in details so you can check that out. Clarke was stunned. She was absolutely crushed. But that scene also kinda woke her up. She was on her own for 3 months, she was isolated from her people in Polis (which is the main reason I’m always saying she was a terrible ambassador) and this argument finally showed her the reality and the consequences of what’s been going on in Arkadia in between 2x16 and 3x05. She realized she’s not the only one who’s hurting. She saw how broken Bellamy was. And she believed her they could fix it all. Together. But she said a few words that triggered Bellamy and he did what he did (again, I talked about it in detail a few months ago).

After the debacle in Arkadia, she focused on playing the role on wanheda again in order to keep her people safe. She was getting closer and closer with L/xa and eventually she fall for her…. and we all know how that played out. Clarke lost another person she loved. At that time, that was all she could think of. Everything happened so fast and then there was the flame, Titus, Murphy… she didn’t have time to think about her feelings. She was overwhelmed. Her feelings for Bellamy were still buried inside of her though without her realizing it.

The Bellarke reunion in 3x11 is interesting for many reasons. Clarke expression can be interpreted many ways but I think she’s also shocked she saw Bellamy, relieved he’s alive and relatively well (she had to blink to make sure he’s really standing there in front of her) and she was also scared. She didn’t know where they stood because the last time they saw each other he handcuffed her and she tazed him.

3b was about finding their way back to each other and Bellamy realizing his feelings for Clarke. Yes, I think that at this point Bellamy is aware of his feelings for Clarke. Clarke on the other hand is not but the feelings are definitely there and have been since season 2. Those feelings never disappeared and I hope we’ll get to see Clarke bringing these feeling back on the surface and becoming aware of her them.

I'm having trouble because I have a number of characters that I need to introduce pretty early on and I'm not sure how to do it without just having them all introduce themselves. None of them have ever met or heard of each other before the beginning of the story. Any advice?

Character Introductions

Greetings and salutations! We’re going to talk about character introductions, but before we do, I’m going to link two posts off the top of my head where we’ve discussed this before. Check out these two posts for some additional information if you’d like it. Regardless, I’m going to go in depth here on some great strategies for mass character introductions.

Penney on Character Introductions

Rebekah on Two Characters Meeting for the First Time

Evaluate the Necessity of Each Introduction

Our anon mentioned that they needed to introduce all these characters pretty early on, but let’s stop and analyze that need for a moment. When you’re trying to decide if a particular event or detail is needed early on in your story, ask yourself the following question:

Do these characters (or facts/details) I’m introducing play a key role in the action of the beginning scenes?

Make a list of your first few scenes (include brief summaries of the scenes), and look at who the key players are. Imagine you have a character that is being paid to steal something, and they’re in the process of stealing it. The conflict in the first scene is their success/failure to steal said object. The person who hired them to steal it is unimportant in this first scene. Yes, mention that your character was hired by someone to do this, and maybe hint at a general consequence if your character fails (”He’ll kill me if I fail”) but avoid an in depth description of this “boss character” and the nature of their relationship until later. The only thing that matters right now is whether or not your protagonist is able to steal this object.

Regardless of what happens in the first scene, your protagonist will need to return to this boss character and either give them the object they stole or inform them that they failed. This is the point where you start to describe this boss character - what they look like, what their demeanor is like, what they’re willing to do to make their point. It may be the point where you go into the backstory of your protag’s relationship with them, but it may not be needed even now. It may be that this backstory isn’t necessary to know until 2 or 3 scenes later on when we start to wonder why the hell our protagonist is putting up with this boss person’s insane orders and methods.

The key point when it comes to exposition - make readers wonder about it before you tell them. Giving a reader all the information in the first chapter often results in a reader learning things they don’t even care to know yet.

So the first thing to do before you start introducing all your characters, is to decide which characters are involved in the actual events of the story in these early scenes. It’s likely that some of the characters need only a brief mention at this point (not a full intro), or perhaps even a postponed intro until a chapter or two later.

In the case of our anon, none of their characters know each other, so it’s necessary here to ask yourself why they all need to meet at this particular point. Can Character A meet B in scene one, and then meet C, D, and E in scene three?

If you feel like they all have to meet at once, because they’re all part of a group or something, then choose one or two relationships to focus on first. For example, when I start a new job, I take in everyone’s names at once but likely only remember a few, and the few I remember are because I end up talking or working with them 1-on-1 first. So decide if you’re able to generalize some of the introductions early on and focus on one or two character interactions early. It doesn’t mean those generalized intros are insignificant characters - it simply means we’ll get to them later when they become relevant. If this point seems valid to you, definitely read Penney’s post.

Make Each Intro Significant and Memorable

I make this point in the post of mine I linked, but in this case, there’s a little more to it than what I discussed. When a character is meeting a lot of other characters, each introduction should include more than just “Hi, I’m Rebekah.” A detail should be included that we’ll remember, or something should happen that becomes significant.

In Big Hero 6, Hiro meets four new characters in one scene (five if you include Callaghan). And each introduction includes not only a name (a nickname actually), but also showcases the area of science they each specialize in, because they’re each fussing with their projects as he moves through the room. Because he’s meeting them while they’re in the middle of work, we also see some characteristics about how they each operate (Wasabi getting upset when his “system” is disrupted by people grabbing his stuff). And rather than one big mass introduction, (”That’s Go-Go over there, and this here is Fred, and oh that guy over there is Wasabi”), Hiro meets each person individually, though still in one scene. These are formal introductions, but they work because they reveal something memorable and significant about each person, and it’s easier to keep track of them.

If this were a novel rather than a movie, this would also be a good place for Hiro to relate specific details about each person to his own life. If one of them reminded him of someone (whether it’s someone he knows, or a cross between two famous characters/celebrities), or if he’s initially intrigued or put-off by the character. For instance, Hiro later has an overflowing wastebasket full of discarded ideas, and this kind of mess might be something a super organized person like Wasabi might be driven insane by. So when they meet, Hiro might think something like, “Wow, if he’s frazzled by this kind of chaos, he better not set foot into my workshop.” I’ve exaggerated a bit, but I want to show an example of your opportunity as a novel writer versus a script writer. Pick on little details and show how the details affect the character that’s meeting them.

Use Distinguishable Names and Create Associations

If at all possible, choose names for your characters that are easy to keep straight. Try to avoid having too many character names that start with the same letter, or have similar sounds to them. That’s no need to have a Danny D. and Danny C. situation here, or even an Ashley/Amber situation. You have control over your characters’ names, so pick names that are easily distinguished from the other characters’ names.

Also, with a large cast, let readers form associations with a particular name that they won’t forget:

  • “Noah was a ‘no-nonsense’ kind of guy.”
  • “Shelley had a shrill laugh, and she was easily amused (and easily startled) so you heard it quite frequently, even across the room.”
  • “Ricky was the risk taker of the group. Not because he was brave or anything, but because he never thought things through.”

Let’s review:

  • Noah = no nonsense
  • Shelley = shrill
  • Ricky risky

These adjectives serve as subtle mnemonics that help to build associations between names and descriptors, and it’s the type of thing that a reader will remember without realizing that they’re remembering it.

Mix and Match for Variety in Interactions

Depending on the type of point of view you are using, you may also have the opportunity to create smaller conversations within the larger group. You start the story with Ashley meeting Noah and Shelley, and you take the time to really show enough of who each character is that we’ll remember, and then you jump to a new scene where Danny is meeting Ricky. Once we’ve gotten used to this second group of characters, you bring all five together. Instead of being overwhelmed with all five characters at once, we’re spoon fed a little at a time so it’s less of an overload.

And this example of 3 characters, then 2 characters isn’t an absolute. You can work with as many characters as you feel you can balance. If you’ve got a cast of, let’s say 12 characters, you might start the scene with a group of 5, and then a group of 3, and then a group of 4. The number of characters you’ll introduce at a time is in proportion to the cast as a whole. A bigger cast might mean bigger groups, or perhaps several smaller groups. This is where you play around with your specific setup to see what works.

These are just some tips for introducing a large number of characters. Hopefully something in here will help you!

For Her

I have zero shame to admit I’m absolute Eremika shipping trash. I’ve been waiting for chapter 50 to get animated forever. So here is a fic based on a headcanon I have regarding what happens in between chapter 50 and 51.

This isn’t particularly romantic but that’s because Eren isn’t particularly romantic.

Summary: When Eren realises that he’s still fighting the same battle but for a different reason.

The entire ride back to Wall Rose is surreal for Eren.

A million things race through his head and his mind replays the moment of Hannes death over and over again drawing parallels to his mother’s death at the hands of the same titan.

But he knows that’s it’s not what will haunt him at night when he goes to sleep. What will truly haunt him, what will surely be a part of every nightmare he’ll have will always revolve around just how close he’d come to losing Mikasa.

She’s on the horse with him, her hands around his waist, her cheek pressed up against the back of his neck.

Her breathing is shallow and weak next to his ears and every time the horse jerks, her grip on him becomes a little tighter and a soft groan escapes from her lips.

He’s well aware that her pain tolerance is nothing to scoff at and the fact that she’s barely managing to stay conscious tells him that her injuries are far worse than he’d originally concluded.

“Mikasa.. hang on we are almost there.” Eren has never been the comforting type and a flimsy reassurance that this painful ride will end soon is all he can offer.

Worrying about her is something he’s rarely done, Mikasa has always taken on that role in their relationship and it takes him by surprise by how much it hurts siting on right next to her and knowing that she’s in pain and being able to do absolutely nothing about it.

“I’m sorry.” Her voice is barely above a choked whisper and for a second he thinks he’s imagined it but she continues.

“I couldn’t protect you.” Each word dragging out due to her shallow breathing,“I couldn’t even save Hannes, I’m sorry.”

Eren is about to respond but her arms around him loosen and she goes entirely limp.

Eren nearly screams.

“Mikasa..oi-Mikasa!” He calls out moving a little to see if she stirred. The Wall was in sight now only about a mile away.

“Eren keep her as steady as you can.” Armin calls out from next to him looking worriedly at Mikasa.

The next few minutes are a blur. Eren’s mind is wholly focused on Mikasa’s well being as he brings her down from the horse carrying her towards the lift.

He’s delicate with her in a way he never thought he was capable of and Armin who stands behind Eren watching the scene silently, understands that something utterly critical had changed within his best friend.

The ever present fire in Eren’s eyes had died. They were no longer filled with hatred and rage but with something far more powerful, something Armin saw in Mikasa’s eyes whenever she looked at Eren.

And despite everything that had happened Armin let the faintest of smiles on his face.

_____________________________

Eren sat beside Mikasa’s bed looking at the stream of light that entered through a crack in the window.

Mikasa lay asleep on the bed, her black hair splayed on the pillow fanning her face. Her bandages were hidden underneath her white shirt but the odd angle she slept in gave away her discomfort. She looked smaller and more vulnerable than usual and Eren didn’t like it one bit.

He was so used to seeing Mikasa in a picture that was larger life, an image in which she was unbeatable that seeing her pale and curled up left a bitter taste in his mouth.

But it was nothing compared to seeing her cry.

To see her cry, to see her give up so utterly and completely…..
That had pretty much shattered him in a way that was impossible to fix.

He flinched and looked down at the scarf in his hands remembering the look on her face.

Thank you for being there with me.

Eren couldn’t help but remember all the times he’d pushed her away without a second thought. Brushed her concern off like it was nothing just because his pride was hurt.

But it had never been only about his pride it was more about the utter frustration that stemmed from not being able to fulfil his mother’s wish.

He fiddled with the scarf carefully turning it in his hands.

Ever since they’d arrived and Mikasa had been treated Eren had practically isolated himself next to her unable to face the consequences of his kidnapping.

He’d never realised just how dependant he’d been on Mikasa to pick up the broken pieces of him every time they lost. She fixed him up and knitted him back together carefully and thoroughly making sure there were no loose ends just like she did with her scarf.

He’d just been too blind to notice it.

Mikasa stirred slightly and gave a soft snore. With a start Eren realised scene was strangely reminessecent of the time when he was recovering from his fight with Annie except their roles had been switched.

Eren couldn’t say that he liked siting there and waiting for her to wake up. He’d never been patient and waiting had never been his strong suit.

But he’d do it, he’d remain by her side and wait for her no matter how long it took for her to open her eyes.

He looked down at the red scarf in his hands . Ever since Armin had handed it to him Eren hadn’t been able to let go of it. Letting it slip out of his sight for even a second felt wrong especially now since he knew what the scarf meant to Mikasa.

Home.

Through out the years Eren had always wondered why she’d kept the old thing with her, wearing it whenever she had the opportunity.

And now…..
He finally understood.

Thank you for staying by my side.
Thank you for giving me a purpose to live.
Thank you for wrapping this scarf around me.

He finally understood why she cared so much. Why she was so afraid of losing him.

He was home for her.

And now that Eren finally understood he’d be damned before he let anyone, himself included take it away from her.

He’d stay by her side, from now till forever…whenever she needed as many times she needed.

Eren noticed how the scarf had come undone towards the end. It was small, hardly noticeable but none the less Eren went to fetch a sewing kit.

He returned to her side with the supplies and started threading the needle. Eren had been quite hopeless at these things back at home and it had always been up to Mikasa to pick up his slack.

Eren pricked his finger on the needle drawing blood and then immediately stilled.Eren held his breath half expecting himself to transform but when a few moments passed by he let out a sigh of relief.

He’d hate to have to explain to the captain why there was a gaping hole in the building but then again that stage would only come if the captain actually let him live.

Eren turned back to the task in hand trying to remember what his mother had unsuccessfully tried to teach him on several occasions. His hand stilled as he recalled the memory of his mother leaning over both Mikasa and him in their small kitchen back in Shiganshina as they struggled to get through their chores.

“Mom.” He said softly looking at his handiwork after he was done. It wasn’t nearly as perfect as Mikasa’s but he knew that his mother would be proud none the less,“I’ll do a better job of protecting her from now on. I won’t let you or Mikasa down, not anymore.”

He stayed like that for a while the scarf in his hands, Mikasa in front of him and silence all around him.

He eventually leaned forward putting it down next to her before gently placing her hand inbetween his. In that moment there is a strange sense of peace in him, a sort of calm before the a raging and violent storm.

He knows that eventually he’ll have to go out and fight. To prove that his life was worth all those who’s been sacrificed.

Before the weight of that pressure would have crushed him. It would have brought him down to his knees and twisted at his heart with guilt.

But now he feels nothing but a sense of unfaltering determination.

Because while his goal remains the same, to fight Titans to kill them all, his reasons have changed.

He’d no longer do it for his hatred. Neither would he do it for revenge.

He’d do it to fulfil a promise to his mother.
He’d do it protect the people he loved the most, he’d do it to protect Mikasa.

He’d fight to give her the future she wanted as well as the future she deserved.

From now on he’d fight for Mikasa.

'Romeo and Juliet of the math and english dept. in school’ AU
  • Lydia is the Math teacher, obviously and Stiles is the english teacher
  • the students adore Stiles and teases him a lot because it’s super obvious he has a major crush on their math teacher
  • everytime she passes in front of his class, he stops talking for a solid minute and looks at her with the softest smile EVER
  • he then looks around and see the smiles faces on his student’s face and just roll his eyes all red and continues his class
  • they’re a bit scared of Lydia
  • She’s a very strict teacher and hates when they mess around during her class
  • but she’s loved as well because she does her best to make sure everyone understand what she’s saying
  • she also has a major crush on Stiles
  • but of course no one notices
  • both of them are aware that the whole school ships them together but neither even mentioned to anyone or each other
  • the other teachers are also in this
  • they usually pair both of them to do teacher things together and that scares Lydia bc what if people know
  • Stiles is more mad about it bc he does a horrible job keeping his shit together
  • they actually work together pretty well
  • but anyways
  • with valentine’s day coming, some students ask Stiles about romeo and juliet
  • so he gives them a class about it bc he likes the play a lot
  • also is valentine’s day and everyone is a sucker for romeo and juliet
  • little does he know that’s a part of their students plan to get mr stilinski and miss martin together
  • like the whole school is into this
  • everyone but the principal
  • because is not allowed for two teachers to date
  • but getting to the point
  • Stiles is teaching it and someone suggest that for them to understand it better, he should do a dramatic reading
  • and Stiles is so up for this shit because dramatic reading is so his thing
  • (i mean one time he performed a very long scene of star wars to his father just for the hell of it)
  • (he was like 15)
  • (Stiles’ dad wonders where did he go wrong)
  • so they get Stiles to be romeo and do the balcony scene from a part of the school
  • and tell him that one of the girls is going to be up there so he doesn’t look stupid doing it to no one
  • but actually they put him under one of Lydia’s classes window without him knowing
  • (everybody tells him that the class is empty bc Ms. Martin is in the lab today)
  • so he starts to read (super loud) under her window and waiting for one of his students to show up
  • but actually Lydia appears in the widow and raises her eyebrows to him
  • and it’s sunny so he doesn’t figure it out it’s Lydia and not one of his students so he keeps going
  • and the student are like LOVING IT and some are filming it and the ones in Lydia’s class are just ‘wtf is happening’
  • Lydia is just amused
  • and his line is over and the student is suppose to read the next line
  • but instead of hearing the students voice, he hears Lydia’s
  • she says the next line
  • Stiles just freeze right there
  • he puts a hand in front of his face and see it’s her and he’s blushing so hard
  • and there’s a silence
  • and Stiles looks around and see those little shits just smirking at him
  • but he’s already embarrassed in front of everyone including Lydia, so what the hell, right?
  • Stiles continues to recite romeo’s line and Lydia now is his juliet
  • everyone stops to watch, even the other teachers
  • because they’re so fucking adorable
  • when it ends everybody is applauding and Stiles is SO EMBARRASSED
  • he nods and takes his students back to his class and just stares at them for like 10 minutes
  • Stiles avoids Lydia for the rest of the day just wanting to go home and spend the weekend hoping she’ll forget everything by monday
  • But as soon as he’s in the parking lot, she bumps into him
  • (totally by accident, i swear)
  • and they do the small talk
  • “your performance was very interesting”
  • “i swear i thought your class was empty, those little shits played a prank on me”
  • “that’s fine. i really enjoyed it”
  • and then Stiles starts apologizing for everything and that he would never ever trust the word of his students and she’s more than welcome to take one of his classes to continue the one he interrupted
  • but he stops talking as soon as Lydia asks him out for Valentine’s day
  • and he just stares
  • and she’s like “we’ll, I can’t kill myself for you without even having a dinner first, so…”
  • this is the worst joke ever but she’s nervous and Stiles is just staring at her
  • Stiles wants to say yes so bad and he’s just trying to contain his excitement but instead of agreeing, he says it’s forbidden
  • Lydia just smiles and winks at him
  • “Of course it is. That’s what makes Romeo and Juliet a great love story”
Doomworld - Len’s Progression

I’ve literally rewatched all of Doomworld to make sense of Len’s characterization and honestly, I don’t think it’s as far off as I originally thought it was, or that it’s irreconcilable with the Len we know. After I calmed down, I could make sense of so much of his behavior by reading between the lines.

So I’m sharing that with you, a sort of quick look into his scenes in the episode.

Long post, no gifs, but here we go.

“Is Bruce in here?” Tim figured he might be— Bruce spent a lot of time in the children’s wing of Wayne Enterprises. There were a dozen or so kids in daycare most weekdays, and Bruce liked to hang out.

Tim liked to hang out too. They had nice snacks, and he’d known most of the kids since they were toddlers. And sometimes naps were mandatory.

“Conference call,” Damian told him. (For someone who claimed to hate naps, snackfood, kids, and humanity in general, Damian also spent a lot of time in the children’s wing.) “I don’t know where.”

He went back to what he was doing, which was arranging a set of pewter soldiers into a complex model of a battlefield, presumably for the benefit of the preschooler sitting next to him.

“What’s this?”

“The Battle of Issus, 333 BC.”

“Right, obviously.” Tim decided he was curious, so he settled down on the mats to watch.  Damian finished his model; he pulled a marker from the art table and used it as a pointer.

“Okay. This is the Macedonian army, outnumbered but in the better tactical position, south of the Pinarus River. Their leader is Alexander the Great. And this—” He pointed to his enemy line. “—is the Achaemenid Empire. They’re about to lose.”

Damian tapped his marker on the Macedonian right. “This is the companion calvary, Alexander’s elite force, and they—” he cut off when he noticed his pupil digging in the toy bin, clearly distracted. The kid came up with a battered Transformer, which he set behind Damian’s lines.

“Elliot. Alexander did not have robots.”

“But,” said Tim, rummaging through the box himself, “did he have wizards?” He pulled a bearded magician out of the tub and held it up for Damian to see.

“You know he didn’t.”

Tim passed the wizard to Elliot. “But what if he did?”

“Drake.”

“How would that go?”

Drake.”

“Abracadabra, Alexander!” Elliot yelled, gleefully smashing through Damian’s entire left flank.

“Damn it, Drake.” Damian sighed in frustration— not quite the rise Tim was hoping for, but still something. He dropped Elliot’s discarded robot back into the box.

“I don’t know what you were expecting,” Tim told him. “Elliot’s four. He’s too young for— what is this— military history?”

“He was doing fine before you showed up.” Damian started to re-erect his soldiers, but he gave it up after Elliot came in for a second pass. “Which is typical, isn’t it?”

“Good one.”

“Thank you.” Damian crossed his arms. “Fine. I’ll bite. When is he supposed to learn this kind of thing?”

“High school? Maybe never.”

“That can’t be right.”

“Have I ever lied to you?”

“Frequently.” Damian rolled his eyes. “I’m getting a second opinion.”

“I’ll wait.”

Damian checked the room for potential allies. “Thomas?” he called over his shoulder, “You learned military strategy as a kid, right?”

Duke looked up from the book he was reading to a pair of kindergardeners. “Just you, man.”

“Told you.” Tim fished a bag of plastic ninja from the toy box and arranged them pointedly into a row. “How are you still surprised by this kind of thing?”

Damian glared at him. “Okay, first of all? I’m not a— hold on a second. Elliot!”

Elliot froze with a large, plastic dinosaur held aloft over the battlefield. He drew it sheepishly back to his chest. “Sorry.”

“Not in the calvary wing,” Damian told him. “You’ll scare the horses.”

“Here?” Elliot pointed to the front of the phalanx.

“Yes.”

“RAWR.”

“Aim for his center.” Damian turned back to Tim. “Anyway. Why are you still talking to me? I thought we had an agreement about unnecessary contact.”

You know what? Fuck it. I’m sick of sitting passively by, listening to people ask “how do you know if you’ve never tried?” and tell me that no-one cares while you sit there with a shit-eating grin and say “this is a great debate we should do this more often”. A debate? My sexuality is a debate?! Fuck you. Telling me that I bring up great points when I’m giving you facts and you ask stupid fucking questions that I hear all the time is not a debate. It’s a chore.

And how DARE you? How dare you say to me that I need to be fixed, that I can be cured if only I could “find the right somebody”. “How do you know if you’ve never tried?” you ask me as though I haven’t tried. You assume I haven’t?

I destroyed great friendships because I tried to convince myself I had a crush on them. I tore myself apart in so many ways because I tried to tell myself that there was someone out there just for me. My life has been a living hell because I TRIED. Every goddamn fucking day, I’ve tried. And then you ask why I’m angry??

Fuck you. Of course I’m angry!! I’ve been sold this idea of love and romance and sex being the be all and end all of the universe every goddamn day of my life. Every single fucking thing I’ve watched, read, listened to - about him or about her. About how True Love saves the day. How they only live happily ever after when they’re married and riding off into the sunset staring longingly into each other’s eyes. And then I’m forced to endure sex scenes and romances that are so out of place that it jars me out of the narrative so utterly and completely while everyone else applauds and nods and agrees “Yes, they are so in love”. Then they point at a background character who hasn’t even got a goDDAMN FUCKING NAME and tell me “Look! There’s your representation! Be happy!!!” all the while writing fanfiction about that character passionately fucking another character because #OTP #loveislove

FUCK. YOU. Of course I’m going to be absolutely fucking livid! You give me representation and then take it away all in the same breath! I watch as characters who are asexual are cured of their medical condition and suddenly they are not asexual anymore! I watch as characters that have never expressed any interest in romance - who have been around 60, 70, over 100 fucking years!!! - are paired off in heterosexual relationships (as though there aren’t enough of them around). Characters who are made canonically asexual and then a couple of years later, a new writer doesn’t agree with that and rewrites the entire canon so the audience can relate to them more (as though they weren’t a fan favourite already). Characters who are made the butt of jokes, characters who are placed in the same bracket as incest, characters who we are very clearly meant to hate.

And if the canon doesn’t fuck them over, the fandom sure fucking does.

Pages and pages and pages of fanart and fanfiction all dedicated to shipping my representation with other characters, while I’m shoved aside and told “it doesn’t matter. It’s not a big deal, there’s no need to yell”.

No need to yell? And yet you’ll start entire so-called ‘fandom wars’ over Shiro/Keith and Keith/Lance? You’ll yell and get angry and start a riot when gay characters are made straight and I’m not allowed to do the same for asexual characters? How DARE you.

How very fucking dare you?

I am made to endure and put up with all this shit and then - on top of all of that - then you have the audacity to tell us we are not welcome in your safe spaces, that we don’t exist, that we’re seeking attention (because bringing attention to a sexuality is such a bad thing, right?). I have to sit and listen to you as you describe us as aliens - as emotionless, unfeeling robots. You tell us we are as far removed from human as you can get. I have been told that I’m not right, I’m broken, I’ll never be understood and nor should I be. I spent years telling myself those very same things before I even came across the word asexual, piling on depression and anxiety and loneliness. I don’t need someone who doesn’t even take the time to try to understand to tell me that I must have a medical condition or that I was sexually abused as a child or that I just need to “give it a chance”. I don’t need people telling me that “it sucks” that I’m aroace, that I’m “not normal”, or asking me what I’ll do when I’m old and have no-one to look after me. I don’t need it. I don’t.

I’m already told all this in a hundred thousand different ways every day when I walk outside and see a billboard featuring another ‘sex sells’ advert. Every day, when I watch TV and see yet another out of place romance. Every day, when I walk into a shop and a love song is playing over the speakers.

Fuck you.

“How do you know if you’ve never tried?” How do YOU know?

I’ve had people ask me “isn’t it lonely?” They ask me how I’ll ever feel fulfilled if I never experience love and when I point at my friends, they laugh and say “no, I mean romantically” as if the way I love isn’t valid. Why is romance so much more fulfilling than platonic? “It just is,” they’ll reply as though that explains everything. It doesn’t.

They tell me how love is so amazing and great and then in the next sentence moan about their significant other or cry about how heartbroken, how depressed they are because their boyfriend/girlfriend broke up with them. “I’ll never love anyone ever again, I guess that makes me asexual” they say as they chat up their next partner and I grit my teeth and smile and nod because I’ll never understand so how can I judge?

So fuck you. I’m not going to just sit here and let you tell me that my representation doesn’t matter. Not when it took me 17 years to finally find asexuality. Not when it took others far longer. And definitely not when some go their whole life feeling broken or force themselves to do things they don’t want to just to try to fit in. We exist whether you understand us or not and we need our representation too.

A request to all Olicity blogs: after that post-non-Olicity sex scene, I believe all Olicity blogs should re-blog 3x20 gifs to help expunge that from our memory banks. Please. Maybe a few drabbles to help, too, dear wonderful fic writer? Or a Blood Hands tease? (see what I did there?)

Sneaky anon! I won’t be giving anything Blood Hands away, but…

I can insist we all think about Oliver leaving hickeys on Felicity’s neck.

It’s not a conscious thought on his part, he doesn’t actively go out of his way to do it (at first), he just likes tasting her, teasing her, hearing her gasps when he drags his tongue over pulse point and the way she quakes when he sucks on her skin, the groan she gives him when he drags his teeth over the now sensitive spot. It was all so innocent at first, with Felicity chastising him from the bathroom as she covered it with makeup, but as he apologized and went into the bathroom to watch her remove any visible mark of his from her body, he realizes he doesn’t want her to. He wants to see those marks and he wants everyone to see them, too. It’s a primal need to mark her, a way to show the world that she is his and only his. He ignores the need for a while, making sure he only gives her hickeys on places she can cover, but that doesn’t last long. The little thrill he gets when he sees her first thing in the morning - her hair tangled from his hands and sleep, her lips swollen from his kisses, small burns from his beard decorating her chin and complete satisfaction filling her gorgeous, heavy-lidded eyes, all topped off with a deep, dark hickey on her neck… oh, it’s addicting. And he keeps doing it and despite herself, despite how goddamn annoying it is at how much makeup she keeps having to put on and that she is not having to invest in more scarves than she ever thought she’d need, she never stops him. Because she likes wearing his mark.

And then let’s talk about Felicity’s marks on him, the scratches that start on his back and shoulders and slowly migrate to his neck and biceps, or when she bites him as she comes, using him to muffle her cries of pleasure because they couldn’t keep their hands off each other at the restaurant and Oliver has her shoved up against the wall in the ladies restroom, or small kisses that she drops here and there with specific lipstick, knowing she’s leaving small imprints of her lips that he won’t see unless he looks in a mirror… small imprints that she knows he won’t remove, because that thrill it gives her is exactly the same one he feels whenever he marks her.

Or… something like that.

Or maybe talk about how much passion can be conveyed in a few seconds, in a single kiss, in a moment where they are connected as they ever will be, where there is nothing left between them but each other and their love.

It’s so damn beautiful.

Or we can talk about his gorgeous smile! Look how happy and content and beautiful he is here. This is a man who is completely and totally himself, who has let his walls down completely and knows right down to the very marrow in his bones that he is accepted and loved for exactly who he is.

Or what about this content moment? Yes, there were underlying bad things brewing, but holy god, look how content he is there. Oliver’s home is Felicity. His shelter is Felicity. The light in his life was sparked by Felicity.

And how can anyone forget about her face when she realized that Oliver remembered the color of the pen she was chewing on? The most inconsequential detail of ever and Oliver remembers it, and he’s so incredibly confident about that knowledge, because he memorized everything about her before he knew how important she was going to be to him. It shows that while she’s been fairly obvious about her attraction to him, she wasn’t the only one who has been there since the very, very beginning.

And what about 4x06, an episode of pure gold, when Oliver showed her how much he wanted to be there for her, how open he was to everything she was and is, and how Felicity conquered her fears for their love, because while they can very well get lost in each other, it’s only in each other that they found out who they truly are.

They have loved each other since they first met…

And…

That is how you OTP.

I like how this post went from pure animal need to look how much they love each other. All this proves is that Olicity is capable of all of it and that is damn amazing.

It means that they have the highest highs…

And the lowest lows…

Because that’s how great passion works

And in the end the will make it, because…

SCENE ONE: long haired Rachel holds an fruit longingly while Token Goth Girl in a Christian Movie twaddles her fingers. They all have apples and nothing else. Just apples at this table. And everyone looks miserable.

OwO what’s this? She looks to the side and sees Rat Boy, Dildo Ebola, eating an orange. That’s the orange table, Rachel. We’re the apple table. We don’t associate with them. Why are they eating so much fruit? Why is he looking at her like that? Why is he looking at her at all? Why does he care?

dude

fLUSTERED dylan suddenly turns to his orange

Yes… orange, very peely and orange. he is looking for anything to distract him from his boring red-shirted friend, who is staring lustfully at an apple, a probable symbolism of the girls at the Apple Table .

“get rid of all the fat ugly retarted gross stupid weird nerd star wars fans old people nickelback fans bronies twihards people that arent i eric har” wAIT, this red shirted, hairy-armed chap must be Eric Hairless! Wonderful. He has a glass of apple juice, and an apple. What a rebellious choice from someone outside the Apple Table. Must symbolize what will happen to the people at the Apple Table. Eric you cruel monster….. you devil…. I cant even look at him and his ham sandwich.

Dildo and random guy who i’m assuming is some sort of Brooks Brown character look at ranting child Eric with distaste. Is he done? Will he ever be done? Seems, upon closer inspection, Dylan is the only one eating an orange. Is every table the Apple Table? Does this symbolize how Dildo Memaw had no sense of belonging in the world? What the everloving fuck is Brooks Brown Guy wearing? 1950′s Grandpa pajamas? That’s not grunge at all. We have our first glance at the pristine white hats in the background. Our eric finishes his rant and looks at Dildo for validation. W-Was it cool, Dylan-senpai? OwO?

“y-yeah.” He stutters. Oh god. I can just smell Dave Cullen. What the fuck is he wearing??? Is that some kind of bondage harness? Or it could be just a keycard or something but to what? Weird design to it also.

Eric, finding validation in the y-yeah, continues on with his rant, looking up from his beloved apple to his gay lover. “Nobody is deserving of this planet,” he says “just me and who i chose.” FUNNY because I think i remember the quote being “Give the world back to the animals, they deserve it more than we do,” but of course they had to satan it up so people hated him more.

“send them all up to space”

“dude we can’t send them to space”

TWO trenchcoated figures appear in the background! We weren’t looking at Dylan and Eric the entire time! These inaccuracies weren’t actually inaccuracies. Thank you Dave. But they are.

“look at these F AR T K N O CK ERS!!!”

alright, i’ll admit i lost my s h i t when he said that. Whhhhat? is that a slang for gay… because like, anal? Probably not. Probably a Christian censored version of ‘fag’ or something. So… it could be? I don’t know. It’s easier not to think about it….. they never said it…………………………………… they never said it….

“what’s up? F O U R E YE S” he pushes the trenchcoated chap into a table.

He kinda just nudges him into the table, but he flies across the table, knocking everything over, breaking his spine and rendering him immobile for the rest of his life. Not really. But i’m sure Dave asked. By the way, yes, I’m sure Dave Cullen is involved with this movie. He can call me a dirtbag, but I know.

he gets up?

and falls to the ground, his trenchcoat goth friends dragging him away as Jock Stud over there kicks him. He has been rendered immobile for some reason. Everyone watches, amused. This always happens at 12:00. Same time every morning. It’s a spectacle.

come on bro, we gotta be gay somewhere else…. these heterosexuals don’t accept us.”

“YEAH GOOD JOB HELPING YOUR BUDDY OUT GUYS, GOOD TEAMWORK”

thanks, jock? is that even an insult? thanks for the motivation,

The jocks laugh in triumph, they have belittled another Goth. They’re so fucking cool, and they know it. There are many ways to wear a white hat, but they’re all wearing it at a 90 degree angle, pristine white like they soak them in bleach before they go to school, and backwards.

they have this really long pan on this black kid. Eric’s face is wrinkled in distaste. I think this is the moment trying to signify that Eric is racist because he’s looking at the black bully distastefully. Alright, Christian Movie. Thanks for that.

Rachel giving the Lanza Stare™ to the Jocks.

Who is this and why are him and Rachel making intimate eye contact? He looks like Dennis the Menace. Like who the fuck is this supposed to be. Also what shampoo does that other jock guy use? Damn

*wink*

What I’m assuming is he’s one of Rachel’s friends that is trying to relapse and recover from his Jock Asshole ways but he can’t seem to quit. Rachel reminds him and he feels shame.

Back to the Sin Table, Dylan looks expectantly at Eric as he continues peeling his fucking orange. He expects him to be like I DONT CARE WHAT YOU SAY IF YOU EVER TOUCH HIM AGAIN ILL FRICKIN KILL YOU ILL PULL OUT A GODDAMN SHOTGUN AND BLOW YOUR DAMN HEAD OFF DO YOU UNDERSTAND YOU LITTLE WORTHLESS PIECE OF CRAAAAHP but no, sadly, because that is not Eric’s true colors. That is his mobster alter-ego, Reb.

He looks like a thirty year old christian youth leader that’s newly married with a baby on the way. But he looks angry also… i guess?? I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt.

he violently bangs his apple on the table. Damn, does he want to bang someone from the Apple Table on the table?/?/????? Where does his violence end

ooh dam, it got a broose. Also he’s fucking shredded. Why.

-the scene fades to black-

Summary: You hate a lot of things about Jeon Jungkook; you hate his arrogance, his reputation, and his pet name for you to name a few. But most of all, you hate how right it feels for you to fall into his arms, and how easy it is to fall for him.

Part 01. Part 03 + Drabbles

It wasn’t over.

After your night with Jungkook he was on your mind more than ever. You didn’t go to any parties in the following days, but you couldn’t help but think of him during the evening, of if he was drinking to get drunk or to maintain appearances as he brought another girl to his bed. The idea of him, wrapped around a random girl, his tongue shoved down her throat, didn’t bother you.

No, what angered you was how he continued to consume your thoughts, even though you hated him more than you’d ever hated anyone else.

It wasn’t fair.

Stuck in the Middle (with You)/Awesome Crowley

[For a meta about Reservoir Dogs and Tarantino’s use of gay subtext, click here.]

I don’t want to be the person who ruins everyone’s fun, so I’m saving my one big criticism of this episode for last. This meta is completely positive, even saccharine, until the very last paragraph. Also, I’m borrowing one of my favourite AO3 tags as a title because, let’s face it, Crowley was the real hero of this episode and where the action was, and that’s perfectly okay and long overdue. Crowley’s been around for years now, and he’s gone through huge bouts of character development, and yet we still know next to nothing about him and he’s often treated like an afterthought, both by our heroes and by the writers. This episode finally (finally!) corrected that, because no matter how intriguing and plain beautiful everyone was, Crowley was magnificent - as I fully expected him to be.

After all, they’re good - but he’s Crowley.

Like anyone with eyes, I loved everything about this episode, and especially how it was filmed. I have to say - this is the first episode in a long time that actually had me in tenterhooks about a possible character death, because you never know, right? Theoretically, Crowley could die, and so could Cas. Theoretically. And also the music, did I mention the music? I think that scene of Cas crawling away from Ramiel and the shot of Ramiel stabbing him - that’s just become my favourite Supernatural scene ever, bar none. It was so powerful and dramatic and visually magnificent and that damn music - wow

I adored that symbolism, because Cas’ been a Christ figure for a while now, and seeing him like that, on his back, defeated and stabbed by a lance - you can’t get more Golgotha than that. Beautiful stuff.

I also loved that this episode was, in a way - off-centre. Sam and Dean were there, of course, but the story was not focused around them. The real protagonist was the supernatural world itself - Cas, Crowley, Ramiel; even Lucifer, to me, was more present than he’s been in a while, what with this vague threat of his child hanging over the world, and him taunting Crowley and flashing his red eyes at this most undemonic demon in the very last scene. The truth is, I love everything about Sam and Dean, and that includes the incredibly talented actors who play them, but I feel the show could benefit greatly from approaching their story from a different perspective every once in a while. I’d love to know more about their childhood, for instance, or about this world of monsters and hunters around them; and a completely Outsider POV episode is, at this point, something I’d probably sell half my soul for.

Anyway - lately, this show reads like very good fanfiction, and considering how engaged, loving and talented this fandom is, this is high praise. I particularly appreciate the fact they’re going back to important plot points and filling them in with completely new details - after all, we’ve been wondering for years what’s up with demonic eyes, or how Crowley became king in the first place (or, at least, I know I did). This new class of demons appearing out of nowhere - creatures powerful enough to wield an archangel’s weapon - that’s incredible stuff. I’m guessing we’ll see more about them, and I can’t freaking wait.

So, yes - Ramiel was spot-on. Jerry Trimble managed just the right mixture of underwhelmingly normal and terrifyingly amoral - so much so I’m sort of sad we didn’t get to see more of this character, even if everything about him, including his death, was handled just right - there was no room for anything more.

My one slight criticism there would be the fizzling nature of Cas’ abilities. For instance, didn’t we establish that Cas can smell lies? So why couldn’t he guess Mary was hiding something? And what about demons’ true forms? I always assumed Cas could see that (was it ever stated in canon? it must have been), and I was therefore almost disappointed that Cas couldn’t recognize Ramiel for what he was. Maybe it can be explained away by him slowly becoming closer and closer to a human being - I don’t know. In any case, I’m truly appreciating how obsessed everyone seems to be with him lately. After years of taking angels for granted, we’ve got two characters in short succession fangirling over angels (in a creepy, murderous and definitely non-con way, but still) - and, yeah, I know that basically everyone spent the entirety of Supernatural pointing out how different and unique Cas is, and I’m grateful for that, but it’s also nice to get a reminder that angels are awesome (in the other sense of the word) in and of themselves.

(I’m still loving Mr Ketch, by the way. Aaaaaw.)

Let’s now come to our unsung hero: Mr Crowley.

Crowley was magnificent in all this. And we’ve now learned he never seriously planned to become King of Hell - my headcanon, which I’m considering confirmed, is that Crowley simply wants control. He’s been tortured for a century or more as some demon tore his human soul out of him, and he’s never putting himself in that position again, which is very sensible of him, and also very Scarlett O’Hara.

mythover  asked:

Hey there love your blog. Quick question I'm trying to write a fanasty book where one of the main characters use both swords & guns. A katana on his left hip & a short katana on his right aswell as carrying a desert eagle on his person but he lives in a world where technology & magic exist except firearms are illegal. Is it possible to write scene's where this combintaion works?

The “short katana” would be a wakizashi. It’s a distinct weapon in its own right and was traditionally part of a samurai’s accoutrements, though this is probably the least significant issue here.

The combination works in so far as you remember that real people make really horrible decisions in an attempt to seem cool. The Desert Eagle is a very flashy, somewhat terrible, gun. You carry one as an aesthetic choice, not because you want to actually kill someone with it. It’s big, bulky, unreasonably heavy, and stupidly expensive. The only point to owning one is to say, “look at what a badass I could be.”

The katana is a very flashy, somewhat terrible, sword. Stop me if this one sounds familiar; this is a sword you carry as an aesthetic choice, not because you actually want to kill someone with it, but because you want to say, “look at what a badass I could be.”

In both cases you’re talking about items that present the concept of a weapon far more valuable, lethal, and cool, than the real articles offer. With the katana, there’s also all of the associated cultural baggage. The katana is, literally, a holy symbol in Shinto. If your character is carrying one for religious reasons, that’s one thing; but, if they’re looking for “the best sword,” then, it’s a terrible choice.

It’s also probably worth pointing out that both the Desert Eagle and the katana require two hands to wield properly. Desert Eagles have a “floating mag,” meaning the magazine remains somewhat loose in the grip, while locked. If the operator fails to properly stabilize the pistol, this can result in the pistol failing to feed, meaning it won’t properly load the next round into the chamber, and forcing the user to cycle the slide manually. This isn’t an issue if you’re using the pistol as designed, but if you’re trying to fire it one handed, because your other hand is occupied with a katana, it could easily result in a dead man’s click long before the magazine is empty.

There’s a similar issue with the katana, the design works with the idea that the wielder will be using it with both hands. Specifically you use your index and middle ring and pinky finger on your off-hand to control the blade, while using your main hand for power. The problem with wielding one single handed should be immediately obvious; you can flail around with it, but you can’t really get much value from it that way. At that point, you’d almost be better off with a machete, simply because it would offer a more comfortable grip, and would be easier to swing.

While wakizashi are frequently matched with a katana and sold together, they’re not intended for simultaneous use. The wakizashi had distinct uses, mostly so the samurai would have a blade they could actually use in doors, but it wasn’t supposed to be dual wielded with a katana. Think of it like buying a kitchen knife set, sure there’s eight knives in there, but you’re not going to be using all of them together at once.

I’ll add, I’ve got nothing against a character that has a reason to use a katana. If it’s a badge of office, a family heirloom, a sign of their order or training, that’s fine. It’s the idea that “this is the best possible sword ever,” which I object to. It’s a two-handed sword. It’s not particularly great. It has a dedicated martial style, predicated on using very fragile blades, (and historical katanas are exceedingly fragile).

Finally, if you’ve got a setting where firearms are outlawed, there’s a few problems specific to the Desert Eagle. I mentioned that they were large and expensive, so let’s break those down a little. First, these are massive pistols. A Mark XIX Desert Eagle weighs just under four and a half pounds. For a pistol that is comically heavy. This is also a gun that is over a foot long. These are large handguns. They are difficult to conceal. If you’re living in a setting where owning a gun is illegal, this is the last thing you want to be carrying on the street. (They’re pretty terrible carry weapons in the real world as well.)

On the current market, with firearms that are legal to buy, a used Desert Eagle will set you back at least $1,200 ($1,400 to $1,700 is more likely, for a gun in decent shape). In contrast, if you’re shopping for a solid conceal carry pistol you can expect to spend somewhere between $400 and $500. Even high grade “tactical” pistols rarely break $1k, unless they’re collector’s items (or SIGs). Most “cool” pistols you see on TV probably cost between $600 and $1k.

If you’re wondering why SIGs manage to command higher prices, it’s because (in most cases) they’re remarkably high quality. I’ve had issues with the American produced SIG Sauer P226s, but in general SIGs are worth the money.

The Desert Eagle really isn’t worth the money. As I said earlier, these are guns you buy to show off, not because you’re looking for a carry weapon.

And, all of this is before you step back and apply the economics for a setting where getting a handgun is illegal. At that point, you’re talking about a gun that could easily cost more than an older model car. Those economics skew against you even harder every time your character pulls the trigger.

Desert Eagles come chambered in a couple different rounds. There’s .357 magnum, .44 magnum, and .50AE. (Technically, there’s also .41 magnum and .440 variants as well.) Gun stores aren’t going to stock a lot, but you can buy them if you’re using something chambered for it. Also worth noting, if you’re dropping the hammer on a .50AE Desert Eagle, it will set you back more than a dollar per bullet. (The current, actual cost in the US is ~$1.35 per round.) But, if you’re in a setting where firearms aren’t easily available, your black market’s going to need to focus on rounds they can actually sell. They may keep a little bit around (and would charge way more than the price I just quoted), but once it’s gone, getting your hands on more could be very difficult. In this sense, it would be much safer if your character was using a firearm that matched to the common calibers in their setting. The reasoning is, that your black market may not keep much .50AE around (if they keep any at all), but they probably will stock 9mm, .45, or whatever your setting’s cops use. It’ll cost substantially more than it would in the real world, but it will be something your character can buy. It also won’t leave behind freakishly expensive shell casings every time they open fire. A string of killings involving a .50AE pistol? That will bring the cops down on their contacts looking for someone who’s been scavenging around the black market for those 12.7mm rounds far faster than a few people who got plugged with a black market .45.

To a lesser extent, the katana and wakizashi have a similar issue. Yeah, sure, they’re cool, I guess, but they’re also memorable. If your character is using a sword (and that’s common in the setting), having the cops looking for someone using a guy with a katana will result in a much shorter search ending at their doorstep than someone with a random non-descript sword or even something like a machete.

If the katana is enchanted, then sure, your character is kind of stuck with it (up to a point), but it’s still a weapon they’d need to be somewhat careful about hiding, and more careful about using.

So, yeah, it’s entirely plausible that you’d have a character who thought all of these were a good idea. If you have a setting where they could actually get their hands on them is a different question.

If you’re thinking they could use the weapons together, then no. They could switch between them, but trying to use them all at once would result in wild flailing, and a malfunctioning pistol.

I can think of, at least, one legitimate reason why your character might carry around a Desert Eagle (or a katana) in a setting like you’re describing, and that’s to scare people. If you’re an enforcer for some shadowy criminal organization, then being able to shove a 14 inch, chrome, monster gun up someone’s nose is an effective option (and yes, the Desert Eagle is a model of handgun you can press into someone without disabling it). But, even then, they’d probably carry something far more practical for times when they were there to kill someone, and not just put the fear of Elmer Keith into them.

Depending on the setting (or the organization they work for), then they might carry and use a katana for that kind of intimidation instead. For instance: If they were Yakuza, it would make some sense. At that point, you might reasonably get a character who used that exact set of weapons for intimidation, and would actually use the katana or wakizashi when provoked.

In general, though, there’s nothing wrong with a character thinking this is all a good idea. It’s not. But, if they could afford it, they might go chasing after that concept anyway.

-Starke

EDIT: As @fox-bright kindly reminded me, it’s the third and fourth fingers on your off hand that you use to control a katana, rather than the first and second. Sorry about that.

anonymous asked:

can you recommend some korrasami fics?

Of course I can! Man, I don’t even know where to start, but these are some of the ones that come to mind:

Place in the World by paxbanana

Korra struggles to find her place in the world. Continuation-fic. Related to One on One.

~ Honestly, I think this may be my favourite korrasami fic so far. The author alternates between Korra and Asami’s perspective in the story and brings about brilliant characterization/introspection as well as culture (we get to experience a lot in regards to the Southern Water Tribe). Seriously… just read it when you have the time.

March of Progress by @threehoursfromtroy

The Avatar must protect nature, foster peace, and keep the world safe.
The CEO of Future Industries must expand, innovate, and, at the end of the day, turn a profit.

Korra and Asami have fallen in love, and fallen hard. But when their duties come between them, their world convulses around them, and their pasts still haunt them both, can the world’s most powerful couple survive?

~ I’ve recommended this many times and still stand by this fic (and the whole Comes Marching Home series). We get to see the development of Korra and Asami in terms of their relationship, their characterization and their hardships. Also, the author is an absolute sweetheart!

The Everthere by @guileheroine

Korra and Asami on the steady, special road to life partnership. A post-reunion, post(ish)-college roommate AU.

~ So, I’m not usually a fan of AU stories, but this one has left me stunned on multiple occasions. The characterization of Korra and Asami is divine, their relationship progression is so pure and beautiful and the story is captivating. It’s a slow burn story that is definitely worth your time!

http://archiveofourown.org/works/8541466/chapters/19581724

(The characterization in this story reminds me of Nightmares and Daydreams by SorbetLaitier - another sort of slow burn  story that I would highly recommend –> https://www.fanfiction.net/s/10837027/1/Nightmares-and-Daydreams)

Absence of Light by @sniperct

Ten years ago, Avatar Korra opened a spirit portal in the center of Republic City. In the decade since, Korra has overseen a new era of peace. But there are dangers old and new, creeping shadows threatening to strangle and choke out the light and throw the world back out of balance. In the absence of light, what hope remains?

~ I’ve recommended this to some people because it’s honestly one of the best stories that I’ve ever read (this too, has its own series called The Avatar and the Inventor). Here, we have a badass married Korrasami couple and a very interesting/dangerous villain. We also get to see some good ol’ characters from ATLA!

All These Broken Hearts on That Pole by Gummy

Korra knew this was insane. Absolutely utterly mad. The first time she ever stepped foot in a strip club and of course she had to fall for one of the strippers. The entire thing felt like a tired, worn out cliche. But cliche or not, something was happening and she sure as hell wasn’t going to let it slip through her fingers.

~ This is another AU involving a strip club - need I say more? I haven’t read this one in a while, but I would definitely say that it’s worth the read!

Parts to Play by @darling-gypsum

Asami Sato has been raised her whole life to distrust benders, but now, she doesn’t know quite what to make of the Avatar. The two girls bond as the Equalist threat looms over Republic City, but the threat could be closer than Korra realizes. Asami’s allegiances are tested. (designed to blend the “Asami Equalist AU” into most of the show canon, so Korrasami, Makorra, and Masami ships are all acknowledged and explored)

Unseen moments in the last two books, as Korra and Asami fly out of and back into each other’s lives.Sequel to “Parts to Play” Books 1 & 2.

~ This is definitely a must-read story! It takes an alternative path in books 1 & 2 with an equalist!asami narrative. Book 3 & 4 are more of what we are used to in the show. The characters really get fleshed out and we get to see lot of behind-the-scenes moments/interactions. A very beautiful story/series indeed!

Book 5: Light by @asami-snazz

A complete Book 5 story following Korra and Asami from the final and beyond as the couple navigate through their new relationship whilst also dealing with rising anti-spirit tension at home and considerable political instability in the rest of the Four Nations as Korra and Asami are tested more than ever before.

“The canon seemed to be being fired carelessly from the Spirit Wilds. Korra…No…Gut instinct told Asami that the Avatar would be there.”

~ I’ve always had a great liking for this story! Very nice characterization and relationship-building for both Korrasami  with a really neat plot! It starts out fluffy but gets very interesting as the chapter go on! We get to Asami have some amazing moments and we also get to see a bit more about Korra’s mental state. Highly recommend this!

Can I request a hc rfa +v & saeranwhere mc is very very intelligent and introverted and people always tell her she's boring since she doesn't like talking much. I'm so sick of it, it happens to me all the time :( Your blog is so awesome & I love it^^

1. Omg thank you ^‿^
2.If people don’t respect the fact that you’re introverted drop them! Trust me, you’ll find people along the way that can understand that introvert doesn’t equate to boring whatsoever!
3. Personally I’m pretty extroverted, so I’m basing MC off the traits of my introverted friends and what I think I know about it, but if it’s not quite what you were looking for just let me know~!

Sidenote: When people hear the word ‘Intelligent’ a lot of them think of the traditional “Good at school, well read in this and that subject, yada ya” and I just want to remind everyone that there is different types of intelligence. And I’m not saying that to be all “Don’t feel bad uwu you’re special too” I’m saying it because it’s a fact. Some people are good at standard education, some are amazing in the STEM field, some are masters of reading social behaviour, some humans are talented artists, etc. For the sake of writing I’m going to write MC as a very Literary Based ‘intelligent’ (because that’s one I’m personally familiar with) I just want to make sure everyone knows that ‘Intelligent’ isn’t defined by the books you read or anything of the sort. Ok rant over.

Yoosung

  • At first he thinks you don’t like him, that once you met him you weren’t as infatuated with him because he seemed cooler in the chat
  • Don’t worry Yoosung no one thought you were cooler in the chat
  • Eventually though he realizes you’re just introverted! Even at RFA parties you stand by him and quietly sip your drink and listen to everyone talk rather than take the attention for yourself.
  • He originally questions why you don’t want to greet the guests yourself, but then comes to understand that you’re just more of a wallflower. But that doesn’t make you any less great!
  • But one party he notices you being extra standoffish. Everyone in the RFA is standing and chatting with each other and you’re not there.
  • He finds you off to the side of the room pretending to be distracted by something on your phone
  • “MC? Why are you over here?”
  • “Oh, hey Yoosung. I was just uh, checking in on…uh”
  • “Come on MC just tell me what’s wrong” He pleaded
  • You decided not to lie, it’d feel good to get off your chest anyways “I just feel like I’m so…boring. Everyone else in the RFA is super chatty and have fun stories to tell and all my life people told me I was boring cause I didn’t talk…I felt like I was bringing down the mood.”
  • “What!?” YandereYoosung: Activated “Who ever said that to you?? That’s so dumb!! They’re dumb!!!1!”
  • You had to calm Yoosung down from his mini rage before too many people looked at you guys. You go to grab his arms but he ends up grabbing your shoulders and looking deep into your eyes
  • “MC just because you’re quiet doesn’t make you boring! You are so great, and so smart, and so..so everything good! How much you talk doesn’t matter!”
  • You just kind of stared at him for a second with a blank face. No one had ever been so adamant about assuring you that your ‘flaws’ weren’t flaws.
  • A smile fell upon your lips and you quickly brushed a tear away, which snapped Yoosung back into his normal flustered boy mode.
  • “Uh sorry for grabbing you” He pulled his arms away immediately and blushed
  • You shook your head and chuckled.
  • Then you grabbed his hand, making him confused and ever more blushy uwu
  • “You’re right. Let’s go stand with the others” You had the biggest smile on your face as you led him back to the group.

Jaehee

  • Jaehee didn’t mind introvert MC at all
  • And as a fellow intelligent introvert, you two got along just fine.
  • You could have very interesting conversations when you felt chatty while making coffee together
  • Or you could appreciate each other’s company when you both felt just like being silent while doing your own activities.
  • ‘Boring’ would never cross Jaehee’s mind when thinking of MC, MC was her lover Best Friend! You are always putting a smile on her face and she puts one on yours.
  • She’s also been called ‘boring’ before so she’s always conscience to remind you how much she enjoys your time together, and how not everyone has the same idea of what ‘fun’ is.
  • You two are quite the pair, silent, but deadly
  • Goddammit that just sounds like a fart joke
  • You two are some of the quietest when it comes to the RFA members, but you’re basically running the scenes from behind the curtain.
  • And you’re both perfectly happy with that. You two organize the party and deal with the guests who are also more introverted, and the rest of the RFA can handle the other guests and public relations. It’s a good setup
  • And you never think about being ‘boring’ again, because how can you feel boring when you’re surrounded by friends and a lover and doing what you love?

Zen

  • You being introverted never really bothered him…because he never really noticed.
  • Zen has such a big persona it fills the room for both of you. Everyone is too wrapped up in Zen’s stories that they don’t even notice your silence or occasional escape to the less crowded areas of the room
  • He’s the perfect cover. He’s so obsessed with the idea of taking care of you and being the ‘provider’ of sorts even though it can be too a fault, it works well for you because he even starts speaking on your behalf by accident.
  • “Oh how are the two of you?” Someone will be looking at you but Zen takes it as open opportunity to answer for both of you
  • Even questions more aimed towards you “Oh, MC, what are you doing these days in your spare time?” You stammer out a couple words, which Zen mistakes for you being humble rather than shy, and he begins praising you and going into detail for you “MC doesn’t give themselves enough credit!” He’ll cry out, then he goes on to list everything you’ve been up to and just how awesome a job you’re doing. You recognize how someone could find it annoying, but it works for you personally since it saves you the nerves of having to talk with strangers for long periods of time.
  • Even when it’s just the two of you it’s nice because Zen always has something to say, always has a compliment to give or a story to tell. He could talk for hours and you’re happy listening. And when you do want to talk he shuts right up and gives you all his attention.
  • One flaw is he doesn’t always see you getting tired after hours of social interaction. He could float around a crowd chit chatting with anyone and everyone for hours, meanwhile you get a little antsy to leave. But usually with some hint dropping you make it clear you’re ready to go and Zen ushers you out like the Knight he is.
  • It’s because you two work so well he doesn’t understand when his coworker calls you boring
  • “Excuse me?” Zen scoffs
  • “Yeah” His fellow actor laughs as he puts his costume on “I always imagined you’d end up with another social butterfly, not someone so..quiet. And when she does talk it’s like..I don’t know all really boring stuff that I haven’t heard about since my school days.”
  • Zen gives him the biggest scowl. “Just cause MC doesn’t blabber on and on about random shit the way you do doesn’t make them boring. In fact it makes them pretty interesting, because obviously if MC doesn’t talk much, they must have something pretty great to say if they decide to open their mouths in front of douche bags like me or you.”
  • His coworker was silent
  • Zen can’t wait to go home and tell you all about how he schooled his dickbag scene partner

Jumin

  • Like Yoosung at first he’s worried your silence is a sign of distaste
  • He can’t help but worry so much that he makes a call to V, looking for advice
  • V laughs
  • “Jumin, are you telling me you’ve met someone whose introverted? Someone who doesn’t verbally open up much? Gee, where have I met someone like that before? Oh! I should introduce you to my friend, he’s the exact same way.”
  • What friend V who do you hang out with besides me
  • It takes him a while, but finally Jumin gets the joke and realizes you two are the same.
  • He starts paying attention to your body language more, realizing more and more that you are comfortable with him and just don’t verbalize it all that much
  • Besides it’s not like you guys don’t ever talk, you’re just not as chatty as you are on messenger. Probably because that’s just typing from behind a screen, so it makes you less anxious. He can understand that.
  • One day he comes home to find you on the couch reading Shakespeare
  • MC you like Shakespeare?
  • Turns out you like literature in general, something Jumin also has a taste for in his rare bouts of free time.
  • You two begin chatting about older pieces and genres, ranging anywhere from fictional masters like William Shakespeare to poetry writers like Yi Sang.
  • It’s actually one of your longer talk sessions, ranging a few hours of just straight talking. Once it’s over though, you two are happy to cuddle up to one another and just throw a movie on.
  • Jumin is often called boring himself, and he never pays any mind to it. But when you two are talking one day and you mention how much it irks you that people call people like the two of you boring he just
  • “So let them. Their opinions will never affect either of us, especially since we both know the value of our own words and have each other to share them with.”
  • A grin crawled on your face. You loved how graceful he made the phrase “Fuck those guys” sound.

Defender of Justice

  • “Wow, I never thought you’d end up with someone so … normal.” Vanderwood mused while looking at a picture of you and 707 sitting on his desk.
  • “I wouldn’t call MC normal” Seven chuckled as he tapped away at his computer.
  • “Really?” Vanderwood cocked an eyebrow at the back of Seven’s head as he placed the picture down. “Maybe they were just quiet that time I met them..”
  • “No.” tap tap tap “MC’s always quiet.”
  • Vanderwood squinted at Seven now, assuming the red head had cameras set up so he’d see the look on Vandy’s face at some point. “So she is boring?”
  • Seven sighed a dramatic sigh, Vanderwood could tell immediately whatever the hacker was about to say was well rehearsed. The fucker always trapped him into weird conversations with some strange moral lession.
  • “Vanderwood, vanderwood, vanderwood. You’ve called MC quiet, normal, and boring….none of those words have anything to do with each other~” Cue 707 going on a playfully long and annoying rant explaining why you were quiet but by no means boring. Normal was up for debate.
  • Seven had always understood you.
  • He put on quite the exuberant and extroverted exterior, but on the inside, Saeyoung was also an introvert.
  • You were never boring to him because he knew you had so much going on in your brain despite your few words explaining the thoughts running around up there
  • And you knew this because the two of you were constantly analyzing each other
  • And you both knew it
  • It became some weird sort of game, picking up on subtle cues and few words you guys would exchange, and figuring out the other’s intention
  • It got so intense the other members of the RFA swore you guys were telepathic or had made some weird secret language between each other

V

  • He grew up with Jumin so he understands
  • He is quiet as well, but he doesn’t mind being the conversation driver at all, or just sitting in silence together while you read or play games or do whatever your heart desires
  • He is just happy to be near you.
  • Given his eyesight is a bit weak, so sounds make it easier to figure out whats going on in your head, so he just learns to listen to the things you do. Your footsteps, your breath, pages turning, pencils on paper, computer keys clicking.
  • He understands you so well without words, but when you do speak he’s in love because everything you say is so thought out.
  • Or you just….”Sneep”
  • “What MC?”
  • “I don’t know. I was just thinking and…I thought of the word ‘Sneep’ I don’t know it’s just one of those things that’s fun to say aloud….Sneeeeeep” And you started giggling “it’s just so weird”
  • Jihyun laughed.
  • Ok so not everything was some profound rhetoric, but he enjoyed anything that comes out of your mouth.
  • “Try it!” You egged him on
  • He paused for a minute, and prepped a really funny deep voice and just “Sneeeeeeeeeep
  • You both had a hard time controlling your laughter.
  • He knew he’d never have a boring moment with you

Saeran

  • At first he was worried you were constantly mad at him
  • Saeyoung is loud when he’s in a good mood…so shouldn’t you also be loud when you’re happy?
  • He hasn’t had much healthy human interaction to judge so he’s confused and worried
  • But you two manage to nip the problem in the bud before it becomes serious
  • One way or another you realized he was feeling this way and sat him down to talk, saying you were never mad you just…were quiet. You said you’d start being more vocal if he’d feel better..
  • “No…I…I trust you.” Saeran trusted that you meant it when you said your silence was nothing bad, he wanted to always trust and believe with you so despite his own anxiety he was going to. You were touched.
  • You figured a good compromise for the two of you, you were quiet, but that didn’t mean you weren’t physical. If you two were close you’d always take his hand in yours and give him reassuring squeezes. It became so common he started grabbing your hand first.
  • Constant smiles from you when one of you would walk into the same room as the other
  • Attached at the hip when sitting anywhere.
  • Much like with Seven, you two communicated a lot through action, and Saeran wasn’t very keen on anything academic aside from a bit of coding, but even then he didn’t have much to say about it
  • But he loved to listen to you talk about. He’d feign interest in classic novels and evolution theories just to hear you talk about them and tell him about them. You’d get so passionate about them, he’d hope that one day you’d get the same starry eyed look on your face when talking about him that you do when talking about Multiverse theory.
  • He never found you boring,  even if he didn’t actually have an interest in the subjects you were talking about, he was in love with how you talked about them. The passion you had. There is nothing boring about passion
  • And so what if you’re quiet?
  • Quiet is important for sneaking up on the enemy and obliterating them from this plane of existen-
  • Quiet has it’s perks.

(please bear with me) Okay, so, I'm a 15 year old freshman in highschool, and I've wanting to create some sort of series, whether it be a comic, or something else for a few years. I haven't too serious about it, but after one my of my friends showed me your video, for some reason, i was especially inspired. Now, I already have one character... but that's all i got. How did you come up with the things in your film? And did you ever experience "writer's block"? and if so, how did you deal with it?

No worries dude!  So okay, I’m gonna’ be honest, when I read this, I was hit with such a weird mix of, like, “god this is literally impossible to answer”, and “man I remember feeling that way when I was 15″.  So I guess the best thing I could do is elaborate.

<ENTIRE poorly-structured NOVEL BELOW THE CUT.  I MISTAKENLY THOUGHT THIS WAS BEING POSTED TO MY PERSONAL BLOG.  YOU’VE BEEN WARNED.>

Shiro:

  • Pretty much just launches himself at the enemy no matter where the hell he is at the time his s/o gets hurt like. Nyoooom. He’s fucking there and kicking the ass of everything in his path while trying to guard his s/o at the the same time. Barks out orders to the other paladins immediately to regroup and stay close to each other because if his s/o is already hurt then it might not take long for the others to get hurt, too.
  • He loses himself a bit and even subconsciously reverts back to his mental state of when he was in the gladiator ring having to fight countless waves of enemies. It kind of startles him and his s/o a bit because then he couldn’t imagine what would happen if anything worse happens to his s/o and how he might react to it. It’s not that all surprising though, because he is a serious temperament kind of guy when it comes to anything battle related. Or even in general.
  • When he can, he’ll try to cover his s/o while they try to move out of the line of fire. Granted they can walk of course. If they can’t it’s clear that Shiro would have to pick them up and move them somewhere super quickly before going back into the heat of battle. There isn’t much he can do, and he can’t just sit with his s/o despite him wanting to. He’s gotta protect his team, too. When he realizes they won’t be able to win the battle he’ll call a retreat and cover everyone else as they try to escape with his s/o.
  • As soon as everyone’s safe he really begins to fret over his s/o. Probably going for the light scold of “I told you to stay close to me.” But he’s not going to really get on their case until their wound can get treatment and they’re back in the castle ship. He feels a little unnerved for a while after the whole incident and he’s a little more protective of his s/o in the time being. Makes sure to stay close to them as much as he can while still keeping an eye out for everyone else.

Lance:

  • Will run over with guns blazing whilst yelling at the top of his lungs which probably does more harm than good because he’s running at his s/o to protect them but also making a god damn scene and causing like every enemy in the vicinity to concentrate on him. He’s trying his best though please be patient with him.
  • Reveals a kind of side of him that his s/o rarely ever sees because most of the time he’s still kind of a turd in the middle of battles but now he’s so focused on trying to keep them safe that it’s a little jarring. Granted he can be serious when he wants to be, but when his s/o gets hurt it’s a little more than just getting serious. His voice gets low and very sharp when he’s yelling out orders at the other paladins to help him and his s/o.
  • If the heat of battle is too much he will simply pick up his s/o and take them somewhere that’s at least somewhat safer and less packed with enemies until they can either retreat or quell the enemy forces. When they’re finally all safe he gets all sappy and mushy on his s/o and probably frets over their injury a lot.
  • Pretty much just holds them in his arms for a while because he’s a little scared about just how easily his s/o could be taken away from him. He’d never imagine them getting super hurt and never even considered the possibility until now. Definitely smothers his s/o with kisses as soon as they come out of the healing pod.

Keith:

  • Will divert the enemy’s attention to him while his s/o can find cover until he can get to them. Pretty much over kills the enemy because how fucking dare they hurt his s/o like what the actual hell. Gods have mercy on the poor enemy that brought the wrath of the red paladin upon themselves. He’s practically in berserk mode for the entire rest of the battle until the others can get him to calm down.
  • It might take him a bit to realize that he was putting himself in a lot of danger and Shiro, along with Keith’s s/o, will scold him a bit. “I know you’re mad but please don’t over do it.” He really doesn’t see the harm in him talking everyone on like he did but he tries to see their point of view.
  • Instead of him fussing over his s/o it’s his s/o who’s pretty much fussing over him. Asking about the scratches on his face and trying to smooth them over by running a thumb over his scrapes. He gets a little huffy because he doesn’t think it’s a big deal. Just tells them to shut up while he tries to ground himself in their presence.
  • When they get back to the castle ship he goes straight to the training deck like a nerd because he thinks that if his s/o can get hurt that easily then he needs to train more to become stronger. He doesn’t care how many injuries he gets when he’s in battle but if his s/o gets hurt it’s a whole other story. For a while he seems a little more clingy to his s/o and holds them more often and for much longer. He needs to make sure they’re okay.

Hunk:

  • Pretty much uses himself as a shield until the enemy is taken down like how are they gonna hit his s/o while Hunk is standing there like a great wall of china. He’s waaaaay more focused on being with his s/o and making sure they’re okay than actually fighting. When enemy fire stops being targeted on him and his s/o he takes them somewhere safe so he can wait it out with them. For some reason, as much as he wants to go out there and kick some enemy ass, he’s worried about his s/o getting even more hurt.
  • He’s really concerned that his s/o will bleed out or pass out, or any other thing to distract him while fighting. So he just opts to stay by his s/o’s side until the danger in averted or until someone calls for a retreat and he can be the first one up and running to get his s/o to safety.
  • Since he’s so worried about them he’s the worst offender for fussing over the injury. “YOU’RE GOING TO DIE LOOK HOW BAD THAT IS.” And they have to constantly reassure him that they’re going to be okay. He’s just a sweet bean and worries for his s/o so much please just tell him it’s going to be okay. Will not shut up until his s/o is fine and dandy.
  • In order to pass the time while his s/o is healing up he tries to make all their favorite foods for when they come out of the healing pod. It helps soothe his nerves. When his s/o comes out he’s on them like a bird on a june bug. Fussing over them and wanting them to get something to eat lest they pass out. He blurts about how much he loves his s/o once they’re alone and that he promises to keep them out of harms way from now on.

Pidge:

  • Immediately alerts everyone to the situation so that they can all go after the enemy like a giant swarm. Even though she’d like to take them out herself, she isn’t the best at hand to hand combat an she’d rather make sure her s/o is safe and sound than focus on anything else.
  • Like Hunk, she opts to stay with her s/o but is a little more willing to leave them if the other paladins really need her. If she can, she takes out what ever enemies she can while she’s with her s/o. She can’t really take them to another area because she’s a little too small to make a speedy retreat while supporting a whole other person, especially with an s/o who’s bigger than her. She could probably manage with an s/o close to her size but no promises.
  • She asks her s/o if they’re feeling okay about 200 times while on the way back to the castle ship. It takes all of her strength not to try and patch up the wound herself. She just wants the injury to go away already so her s/o wont be in so much pain. If she can she holds their hand and probably squeezes it to death because??? She’s already lost so much it’s really scary to think that she could lose her s/o, too.
  • Doesn’t get a lick of sleep while her s/o is in the healing pod. She has to make sure they’re absolutely 100% okay while their healing and that something bad doesn’t happen. When no one’s around she honestly will cry a little bit. This poor child is so stressed about losing a lot of her family she didn’t even want to think about how her s/o could be taken away. Once her s/o is out she’s very clingy, trying to make sure they don’t leave her side again. Fusses over them for the next few days because they could have DIED. Please cuddle this child.
