not so traditional tailoring

Large cross-stitch of a hibiscus plant I did for a photo-install-type-thing. Here’s me holding it for size reference (I’m 5’1”). Flowers are sort of a traditional cross-stitch/embroidery motif, so i tailored this tradition by cross-stitching a brightly colored hibiscus plant. I chose to the hibiscus because it is representative of my cultural backgrounds (Hawaiian, Puerto Rican, and Okinawan). This is a result of 60+ hours of work in just 6 days.
