not entirely sure what this gifset is

  • what she says: i'm fine
  • what she means: ok but in doctor who series 10 episode 2 'smile' the doctor looked so good like i'm not completely sure if it was the lighting or the costume department or hair & makeup that was responsible entirely and i'm not saying that peter capaldi isn't a very beautiful man in any case but in this episode particularly he looked practically picturesque and i'm not sure what to do with this evidence other than rewatch this ep until i get bored of it which is never and reblog every gifset made of it until i find a reasonable explanation

“Well, it seems to me that the best relationships - the ones that last - are frequently the ones that are rooted in friendship. You know, one day you look at the person and you see something more than you did the night before. Like a switch has been flicked somewhere. And the person who was just a friend is… suddenly the only person you can ever imagine yourself with.”

Hello ;) First of all I wanted to say that I love your blog ! Thanks to you , I can discover new theories about the recent chapters. And it helps me a lot to understand what's happening to be honest xD The last chapter is so confusing after all ! Anyway, I saw recently a post on your blog with a Sbeastian gifset. And my attention was caught by this sentence : "Yes, my lord. I devote my entire being to you. Until the day… that lies become truth.” (1)

And I couldn’t helpt bu think that there’s a link, a connection with the recent chapter because of Ciel’s last question as he wanted to be sure that Sebastian can’t lie to him. I couldn’t help but think that maybe Sebastian is iding something from Ciel concerning the day when the contract has been sealed… I agree that he said that because of Ciel’s lie about Snake’s friends… But I think he was hinting to something more than that … And if it’s the case, given the sentence… (2)

Well it doesn’t sound like a good thing for our Ciel :/ Because Sebastian clearly stated that he’ll serve him until lies become truths… And it seems like the truth about the first day of the contract will be revealed soon. There will be a lot of problems and shocking revelations if the 2CT is confirmed … But I wonder what will happen to the relationship between Ciel and Sebastian. After all, even if he can’t technically lie, he can certainly hide facts without any problem. (3)

( We could have seen it during one of the recent chapters too. Sebastian seemed to hide an important information about Elizabeth to Ciel … He was about to reveal it to him but he finally chose to keep it for him)…Anyway, i’m probably wrong and I’m probably extrapolating too much xD. But I would love to hear your opinion about it ;) Have a nice day ;) (4)

Hi. :) Thanks for your nice words. <3 I’m really glad that you like my blog. ^^

Ah yes, that sentence from Sebastian in the Murder arc… I’m pretty sure he’s referring to Ciel’s words earlier here:

And this definitely feels like it could be a hint for the 2CT. If this theory is true, our Ciel has built a new life for himself based on lies. And since he has stuck to the lie about his true identity it has nearly become truth (he has the title as Earl, everyone around him thinks he’s the real Ciel, even his personality may have been adapted to the real Ciel’s,…).

While Ciel is talking about a lie becoming truth in the sense that no one will be able to tell that it’s actually a lie anymore, Sebastian could have meant something else by his words…

I kinda have three different ideas for what Sebastian could have meant:

1) Maybe he means here that one day the real truth will come out and Ciel’s lies will be revealed. And that might be the day their contract ends. (Of course, the contract states that it will end once Ciel’s revenge is fulfilled but maybe the revelation of Ciel’s lies and the fulfillment of his revenge are connected.) And maybe in this case this is already foreshadowing that Ciel’s lies will be revealed soon…

2) Lies can never be truth, so maybe this is Sebastian’s way to say he’ll forever be in Ciel’s service? (Or at least as long as Ciel is alive.)

3) Sebastian always says that he doesn’t tell lies. But if lies become truth he could technically say them, right? So his words could mean something like he’s Ciel’s servant until he can lie again? And since their contract says that Sebastian cannot lie that will only be the case after the contract is completed. Or maybe the fulfillment of the contract will cause a ‘lie’ to become ‘truth’ (whatever that may be) or something like that?

Anyway, until now Sebastian isn’t allowed to tell lies but yes, he can hide the truth from Ciel which he has done several times before. So it’s possible that he hasn’t told Ciel something that may have happened on the day their contract was formed. And this may be connected to the 2CT and the possibility of the twin being ‘alive’. Maybe that’s what Ciel has realized at the end of the current chapter which caused his terrified reaction.

If the 2CT is true, I think Sebastian knows this, so I don’t think the revelation would change anything for their contract. But it will definitely change a lot for our Ciel and the people he has lied to all this time. And the life he has built and which is like a protective shield for him would crumble down.

Have a nice day, as well! :)

anonymous asked:

in your history video you said "hopefully this addresses some of the problems in the original" what did you mean by that? genuinely confused here 😂

Hahaha aaaah, I saw the History MV was making the rounds again. 🙈

I don’t remember all my reasons behind why I loathed the official MV so much but it was enough to make me go ‘yeah fuck that’ then sit down for three days and three nights because that absolutely was not the ‘five year reflection’ this fandom deserved.

Honestly it was just so… lazy. It was supposed to be a celebration of 1D’s history yet it turned into something akin to a dreary funeral and I mean… there was SO MUCH POTENTIAL - do you realise how many times EVERYONE in the fandom would’ve watched it if it wasn’t 1) depressing as all heck (I mean that ENDING, precisely in the time everyone was panicking about the 1D split, was such a bitchy and intentional move???), 2) irrelevant (there was zero substance as to what people are actually a fan of this band for) and 3) if they’d actually used footage we hadn’t seen 100 times over for years. For a song aimed AT the fandom the music video sure as heck wasn’t - how many times have we pleaded for any of This Is Us’ 900+ HOURS of footage they withheld, yet instead they give us, what, 6 seconds of new cutaway shots with the rest of the footage simply ripped from the more popular videos on 1D’s YouTube channel?

Access to new footage completely brings this fandom to life - it’s how we THRIVE. But compare the release of the DMD video, where the entire fandom was up and engaged for WEEKS yelling and sharing new gifset after new gifset after new gifset while ruthlessly streaming for the Vevo record, compared to after the History MV dropped and we all just… stood around scratching our heads. Gifmakers were at a loss and hardly anyone wanted to rewatch it because there was more Simon Cowell than actually showcasing the relationships between all of 1D. Selection and omission of footage is SO important and they essentially tried to insinuate that the OT5 connection never existed which, lmao, way to be transparent. I’d almost go so far as to label it as part of the exit sabotage… but I digress.

Look, there are so many qualms that I had with the official MV, some of which were very context-specific to the time/nature of release, but the important thing is that we as a fandom deserved better. Better than lazy. Better than more gaslighting. I couldn’t make something that could contribute to any Vevo records, but I could make something that people could find comfort in and remind them that growing alongside this band and being a part of such a wondrous, influential, huge platform over the last six years is something to be proud of.

And, according to the tags, it worked.

Hi! Your palette edits are so beautiful ;-; i was wondering if you could release a tutorial on how to make them. I hope you have an amazing day! 💕

thank you, may you have a nice day too! tutorial under the cut! Before you proceed, please watch the palette mv first, it’ll be good if you have some knowledge or know-hows about giffing.

So tumblr has marked almost half my gifsets/edits as NSFW/sensitive content.

Among what was tagged as sensitive content are:

- that cute one about James bringing Kara donuts

- an outfit appreciation post

- m’gann and j’onn kissing

- all my supergirl season 1 appreciation gifsets

- a sanvers valentine’s dance gifset

- a danvers sisters gifset

What wasn’t tagged as sensitive content:

- two gifsets containing a character literally being stabbed

I just saw you're most recent gifset and I am laughing so hard. I mean these are the writers that wrote this season lucifer can't go back in the cage still in a vessel. Um...did you forget the entire big finale of season 5? They forget and/or gloss over so much stuff. It's ridiculous. And I hate the way tbh all of team free will has been treated the last few seasons. They deserve better.

CS + Secrets

Dedicated to both kingmojomonkey and shelbyalise98

I’ve already talked about the way Hook let go of his secrets and started to truly confine in Emma in 4B. Here, I want to talk about Emma’s part in this change because you can really see how she was also evolving.

If in the beginning she was mad about him keeping things from her (being the control freak that she is), later little by little she became truly concern about him and his well being.

I think the last secret regarding Ursula was probably literally the last secret because we could see there that Emma truly let go of her urge to know what’s going on (which she usually have regarding everything) and say the right words at the right time. Words that will probably prevent Hook from keeping things from her ever again. Because the fear of what Emma may think of him was always the reason for Hook’s secrets. She is now so sure of her feelings and his redemption that she is willing to say these words with confidence, without the need to know all the facts first.

This is maybe one of Emma’s biggest changes during the entire show. A girl who always needed to be in control and to know all the facts before she comes to a decision put her trust unconditionally with someone else.

Send me a word and I’ll make you a CS gifset inspired by it.

Hello, the Tumblr. Your friendly neighbourhood Marciana here, back again with another friendly reminder about reposts and reblogs, and why one of them is good and the other is bad. This post is going to be a bit long, but bear with me.

Now I’ve been seeing quite a lot of reposts happening in some of my tracked tags, and it’s just not okay. But then again, some people might be NEW to the whole concept of reposts vs reblogs, so here’s your overview.

“Reblog” is when you see a post that you like, either on your dashboard or in the tags, and click on the small icon on the lower right corner of the post and click “REBLOG” to put it in your blag. Very simple, three steps at the most.

“Reposts” are when original posts, fanart and/or graphics such as edits/manips and GIFs/GIFsets made by other people are posted by OTHER people who did NOT create them, for various reasons. Reposting happens in a few ways:

  • Saving the fanart/graphic/GIF/s to your own computer, uploading to Tumblr all over again, making an entire new post on your own blog, not giving credit or sourcing back to the original source/creator.
  • Taking a screenshot of the single post you like (be it a joke, or a gifset, or an edit, what have you), cropping the screenshot in a photo manipulating program (Paint, Photoshop, Photoscape, Gimp, etc.), uploading the screenshot to Tumblr, making a post with the screenshot, no link back to the original nor permission from the original post’s creator
  • WeHeartIt, Rebloggy or something like that (I’m not sure I’ve only seen it for a couple of days), or other image archiving/blogging website that does not link back to the original source on the internet of the picture or content of the picture

So as you can see, it takes a whole lot more effort to repost than to just reblog, but that’s not the only reasaon that reposts are frowned upon. Reposts essentially take the credit (and the notes) away from the original creators/artists/editors, even though that may not be the intent of the reposter. It’s like doing someone’s homework for them and then watching them take all the credit when their homework turns out to be perfect but their paper got graded and/or noticed before yours. Of course, it’s understandable that a blogger would like to be found by interesting people, they want the notes and the followers, and for others, reposting other people’s fanart, edits and graphics is a way of appreciating what they’ve done. But there are PLENTY of other ways of doing that without violating copyright policies as set in Tumblr’s rules and regulations.

“But Marciana,” you point out, “What if we’d REALLY like to post them on our own blog so that people going through the tags can find us, like us and hopefully follow us?” Then please do not hesitate to ask permission from the original creators/artists. Some will say yes, others will say no. Whatever the decision, be respectful of it. Saying “I do what I want” and going through with the repost anyway doesn’t make you a cool rebel, it just makes you a jerk that can easily be reported to Tumblr staff through a specific e-mail address. Several posts AND blogs have already been deleted and suspended because of serial violations of the copyright laws of Tumblr, which now thankfully also cover GIFsets. In the event that the original source gives their permission, please do not forget to link back to the original post. Other artists will be fine with you leaving their name/Tumblr URL in the post as a source, but the point is to ask first. If in case you can’t find the original source anymore, make sure to say so in your post. “I can’t find the original source, if this is yours, please let me know so I can properly ask your permission/give you credit.”

Oh, and please take note: WeHeartIt is not a legitimate source, as it archives photos from all over the internet and NEVER links back to their original sources when you post them here on Tumblr.

“Okay fine,” you say, “But what about using people’s jpgs and gifs as reactions to posts? How is that different from illegal reposting?” To be honest, it’s not VERY different, except for the fact that if you use someone’s jpg or gif as a reaction, it’s not really seen as you claiming it for your own. Almost everyone on Tumblr is using everyone else’s stuff for reaction anyway that at this point, this has become the gray area. Still, if the jpg or gif you want to use is watermarked with the creator’s URL, ask permission to use their stuff if you want to be very sure.

While we’re on the subject of permission, let me bring up one more permission issue that needs to be talked about. Some people are very good at ‘shopping pictures together for shipping or ficcing purposes. That’s all well and good, until you cross a certain line. There are pictures out there of fans with their favorite celebrities or actors that they’ve met, and these shots usually make for good posing for shippy pictures. The problem with doing that is that some people will callously cut the fan out of their own picture, which is their representation of a special day or moment that they had, to serve someone else’s purpose. This can be, and has been, very, very disrespectful of the fans, who only uploaded their pics in the first place to share the fun with the fandom. I’ve asked in the future for people to please stop doing this, but of course, thats not going to happen in a flash. If you’re going to insist on doing it, get permission from the original blogger of the picture, and for the love of fandom, please respect whatever answer they give you. This kind of thing puts people off of sharing their awesome pictures and stories with the rest of the fans, some of whom will never be so lucky as to even be in the same city as their fave actors/singers/celebrities, let alone attend a con they’ll be in and pay heaps of money for something very, very special.

For you creators/editors/artists out there who would like to prevent your stuff from getting reposted, my only advise is to watermark or sign your things. That’s not really going to physically stop the actual reposting from happening, but at least you’ll know that it’s yours, and if you wish to report the reposting, you have proof that it was yours at all.

That’s it for now, you guys. I hope this post, even though it’s been long, has been informative and helpful, and here’s to less reposts in the tags, and more respect in the fandom.

(Special thanks to bifca for the fantastic idea for this post.)

You know the opening scene of finding nemo after the all the babies and mom die and all that's left is nemo and marlin is like "it's ok don't worry I've got you" to the baby egg nemo? CS + Patience

Dedicated to both kissmelikeapirate and thedisneygeekette

I don’t really have to talk about Hook’s patience here, we all saw it and know what it’s about (and the gifs are demonstrating it pretty well on their own), what I want to talk about is Emma’s “be patient” line because I think it has such a strong meaning.

Emma doesn’t really need to ask him to be patient, he has been nothing but patient ever since they have met (including waiting an entire year just to see her again). But what really this sentence means is that she is letting him know that she feels the same and they will eventually be together. It was maybe the first time that Emma really acknowledged that. It’s not about giving him hope, it’s about making sure that he knows what he has been wishing for for so long is about to happen that it’s already there.

Send me a word and I’ll make you a CS gifset inspired by it.

                            CAPTAIN SWAN DIVERSITY WEEK
                                            6 - 12 of JULY

We all love Captain Swan, but our worlds - both real and fairy tale - are worlds of endless cultural possibilities, far beyond the confines of the show and the ethnic representations on the show. So the proposition is to use this week to delve into the canon/fantasy/modern au possibilities that can be inspired by those many cultures. We are a ridiculously wonderful and diverse fandom after all!

Okay, so here’s the run down.

RULES:-

  • Create something - fan fiction, drawings, graphics, gifsets, playlists, videos, etc.
  • Use something cultural as your inspiration - whether it be CS going out for Korean instead of Granny’s, a holiday in South Africa, a non-US school system, one of your favourite festivals. Or, if you’d prefer the fairy tale route, feel free to delve into a myth or story from any and every culture available - How The Birds Got Their Colours, Laila and Majnu, etc. What you choose to make of it is entirely up to you.

Make sure you cite or refer to the culture or its element you have chosen.

  • Colin and Jen are absurdly gorgeous, I know, and I love looking at them as much as you do, but racial bending is also encouraged.
  • Please be mindful of the cultures which you are inspired by. There will be no tolerance for appropriation or blackface (and other variations). Be respectful.
(I know you will be anyway, because you’re all precious human dandelions, but you know.)
  • Use the following tag - #CS Diversity Week - in addition to your normal tags.
  • The point is to learn and embrace and have fun. So make sure you do that, okay?
  • Please remember to flail and wallow over the perfection that is Captain Swan. No buts, no exceptions, no regrets.
  • Reblog to spread the word :)

"You like a narrative that only exists in your head." It's funny that you use that choice of words. I'm a MK shipper who reads your blog because you shed light on a character I found increasingly frustrating; Asami. To me she was never fully developed, but it is your head canons and analysis that help me understand her. However, the fact remains that a lot of the stuff you talk about loving about Asami isn't explicit in the show, but rather a product of your inference and headcanon. Thoughts?

Asami is fully developed. It’s subtle development, but IMO she’s the second most developed character in the series. I’m able to analyze and shed light onto her because she happens to be a certain character archetype that I’m familiar with and gravitate towards, but other than marrying B1/B2 to B3/B4 in terms of Korrasami (which isn’t anything that needs be taken as gospel btw), every analysis I do is steeped entirely in what the canon explicated, especially when it comes to her personality.

(Except my subtext essay, but I’m pretty sure I lay my lens down on the table quite clearly with it).

I didn’t animate her scenes and I didn’t script her arc. I highly recommend this gifset and this analysis that merely shed a light onto her complexity.

She’s an internal character. That’s just how it is, and I can totally see why that makes her inscrutable. But when I’m talking about a narrative that exists in one’s head, I’m talking about the fiction of Mako and Korra ever having a copacetic relationship. It was not shown. When I talk about Asami being highly compassionate and intuitive, it’s because those were the characteristics we saw her explicitly demonstrate.
