not enough love for the dragon

Dorian: I thought I knew love, but I was … parched, you see. The world was a soulless, arid place, and I’d no idea an ocean awaited.

Garret: In my experience, love is having the courage to carry a guttering flame into the world and find a person whose light is bright enough to illuminate your own darkness.

Dorianmance week continues and I clearly have a theme! Lots more wedding sketches to come. 1

i found out something really cool today

there’s a bird called the hoatzin that lives in south america that looks like this:

it looks really cool kinda like a feathered dragon??

but the coolest part about this bird is the juveniles!! the babies in this species have claws on their wings that help them climb until they’re old enough to fly, and by that time the claws disappear!!

you can see the tiny claws in this pic!! it’s so cool because birds are living dinosaurs and these little baby hoatzins look like baby raptors with their claws!!

idk i just had to post about this bc this is a rly cool birb that deserves more attention!!!

OK so keith and lances relationship in this AU ..this is gonna be long so get ready but it starts off when theyre younger:

and wow!!they are friends!!theyre best friends in fact they love hanging out with each other and playing together just being silly kids but then we hit the teens

this is where things get bumpy for them. Theyre still friends and still close(romantic feelings start to bloom),and they have big dreams of being the best dragon hunting duo the worlds ever seen!So they’re finally old enough to start serious dragon training

but it doesnt go all too well for lance……..

hearing that his best friend (and crush) doesnt think he can do the one thing hes been dreaming about since childhood?breaks his heart. And pisses him off

after this they get into a huge fight and lance just…doesnt talk to keith anymore. lance is angry at keith for lying to him, keith is angry at lance for just randomly dropping him without even giving him the chance to explain.

in the end tho!after lance finds blue and keith finds out they’re able to finally talk and work it out and become friends again :,,) and eventually….eye emoji ..start dating

more dragon au right here! & here

So we have here two strong female protagonists of a non-ecchi show made by the acclaimed studio KyoAni.

One of which is an all-powerful dragon with enough strength to destroy the planet and has literally taken a man down by episode 2. She also just happens to be a proud lesbian in love with the other protagonist for actual, deep and non-anime reasons.

The other protagonist is independent, lives on her own in Urban Japan (which is very hard to do, mind you) and is working in a “man’s field”, treated with equality and respect by her colleagues and is platonic friends with a male co-worker.

By Episode 2 they’ve basically adopted their own child.

But some otakus on Tumblr decide that they do not like the show because the titular shape-shifting dragon made a boob joke when asked about the form she freely chose herself.

Some communities are really hard to please.

dancer au anyone?

Fenris, a prestigious ballet dancer too focused on structured movement, meets Hawke and is introduced to street dancing. And a little taste of freedom, while we’re at it.

also known as how the fuck do you do this posture what the fuck–

Alistair. Because I love him and I needed to finish something happy today. I needed to spread something happy today. It’s a paltry contribution but if it helps even for a moment…

I tried to combine Origins and Inquisition versions as best as I could. Leaned more Origins I think? I don’t know, it was hard to do this kind of expression without reference for him so he’s probably off.

I made it big enough to print but I didn’t want to put it up on RB unless someone really wants it. If you do let me know and I will post a link on my tumblr.

Confession:  I think the thing that hurts the most about the Solas/Lavellan romance is that he completely steals everything from you, both indirectly and directly.
The anchor, bestowed on you accidentally, separates you forever from your former life and your clan.
His disdain for the Dalish is finally explained when he tells you the original meaning of the Vallaslin; as slave markings denoting which of the Evanuris your forebears belonged to. If that revelation bothers you, and you trust the man you love enough to remove them for you, you are basically assenting to cutting yourself off from your heritage with the expectation that you will now be joining him and learning true Elven culture…. then he dumps you, and you find out he’s been trying to destroy the world you’ve been trying to save.
He is not Lavellan’s love interest; he’s her origin story.

Did you know I sometimes do more than just silly sketches and chibis????

Had this brush I liked enough to make my lazy ass do speedpaint with it, and I used Hanzo as my test subject for it because he is aesthetically pleasing to me and I like looking at his face, just a lil comparison between his younger self and current self.

I didnt use refs and it bothers me how he doesnt really look like himself???? I love in game Hanzo and how he looks in the Dragon short, yet I cant seem to really capture his characteristics???? even if I use a ref????

While space was always a place for man to explore, it would be as the maps of the old oceans were. The inky void did not prohibit life, but allowed all sorts of things to develop. Man’s first encounter with the monsters of space was Ziero, the space dragon. Attacking during the earth’s first age of kaiju, it was driven away by the combined forces of the legendary Gadashin, the hybrid Koga, and the prehistoric Ol’ Bertha. It was eventually trapped on the dark side of the moon, and kept there until the first interstellar travel of mankind, where it escaped once more and dueled with the Cosmic Owl Noctus, before being driven away into the inky depths of the space in between stars. With concussive abilities from the “gills” on its body, it can summon large clouds of sound that generate force in space. Ziero is able to force this into a slashing beam of sound as well, creating a dangerous beast that uses its own body to create dangerous weapons.

Another commission I had asked for from the almighty @c-g-ricks, I wanted to share this beauty with you all. Here, Ziero roams in the most familiar of terrains for it, that of space. As a space dragon, his biology makes little sense and emulates that of deep sea creatures to a degree. Connor did a wonderful job with him, and I’m glad that another monster of mine got a wonderful piece to show itself off. Ziero gets bonus points though, as I originally wrote him up looking at Connor’s work for inspiration.

Here’s the original bio, for those interested.

And might I say, Connor is really wonderful to work with. Clear lines of communication, various different designs to help pin down what looked right, and quite professional. I highly recommend him for those curious if they should.

Genji: You’re my doctor!

Mercy: You don’t pay me enough… >->

Genji: I pay you in the good dragon. ;)

I love so-called “hard sci-fi”, but I also love stories where patently absurd concepts are explored with almost comedic attention to detail. Discussions like “how many milkshakes would a dragon need to drink to fuel fire-breath?” are hysterical because they treat obviously fantastical scenarios with wildly inappropriate seriousness. Explorations of how vampires might keep kosher are delightful.

What I don’t really care for is when a subject is treated with just enough scientific seriousness that it raises even more questions and somehow becomes less plausible than “magic” as an explanation. It ends up highlighting plot holes and making some bizarre implications - if *one* thing has a thorough realistic explanation, then *all* aspects of the story should, too. It’s like a logical dare. Superhero comics do this all the time, to the point that it’s kind of endearing. My favorite example is Killer Croc… the absurd idea that he’s half-crocodile actually becomes easier to swallow than blaming his “condition” on atavism.

It’s that time of the year!

We all know f/f doesn’t get enough love. Whether it’s because of a lack of canon content, or fandom’s interests lying elsewhere, it usually gets the short end of the stick. Thankfully, February is here to rectify that - and hopefully, one day, we won’t even need the reminder!

So what is Femslash February? It started as open challenge calling on all members of fandom to create at least two fanworks of any sort (fanfic, fanart, fan vids, graphics, fanmixes, etc.) featuring a f/f ship in the month of February. I don’t know if people still follow that rule today, but to me, Femslash February is THE month to celebrate your love for the ladies. And ladies loving ladies. Not that you can’t do that every day of the year, but if you needed a good reason, here’s one!

Since the Dragon Age franchise has, let’s be honest, a whole bunch of badass ladies, and since this blog, and yours truly, have dedicated  themselves to the task of reblogging them all in all their glory, I’m hoping you guys will fill up their tags with new posts, so that I can queue a LOT of content, and provide you with even more lady love!

Now go forth, and spread the love  (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・☆ ✧.

Why is blood red?

There is a scientific answer, but it is a cold one.
Cold like ice. Hard like steel. Unfeeling.
It reflects nothing of the blood itself.

Blood, which is —
Warm, like fire. Fluid, like water.
Red, like anger. Passion. Fury. Love.

Emotion.

Yes, that is why.
It is the emotion of the body,
the language of the soul,
the tears of the flesh, of the heart.
For when you strike it cruelly enough,
it weeps, it cries, it burns.

A burn that screams:
‘YOU ARE ALIVE,’
and demands you stay that way.
