not as tough as you think

AU where Kimball and Doyle both survive and Locus and Felix are defeated and restrained. Felix is making a bunch of smug comments like “What, so you’re gonna kill us now? Think you’re so tough?” and all that Felix-y bullshit.

Kimball and Doyle just look at each other, before Kimball goes: “Actually, no.”

“See, Kimball happened to find something interesting while we were transferring supplies from the New Republic to Armonia,” Doyle adds, arms folded across his chest. “A phone, with only two numbers listed in the contacts. One of them belonged to Locus. The other belonged to someone who claimed he knew the both of you. Rather nice fellow, liked to talk about his family.”

With a knowing smile, Kimball holds out the cellphone, with the name ‘Siris’ and a number visible on the screen. “And we think that anything he’d do to you would be so much more satisfying than anything we could do.”

Felix and Locus’s faces go pale as the nearest door is slammed open by a prosthetic foot, which is followed by an angry shout of “WHERE THE FUCK ARE THEY?!”

Home Town

Dean Winchester x Reader

An Anon request from the Drabble Prompt list. Asked for 142 or 143, but I thought they fit well together so I put them both in one.

#142:  “Hold my hand so he gets jealous.” 143:  “Ew, your hand is sweaty.”

HERE is the list of the drabble prompts that people are requesting from.

HERE is the list of the prompts I’ve already done.

When Sam had announced where the new hunt was happening, you had actually considered staying back at the bunker. Never in your life had you turned down a hunt, but hearing that this one was in your home town had you thinking about.

Toughing it out, you had gone along with Sam and Dean, not saying a word as to why you nervously sat in the back of the car, your stomach twisted in knots. After the six hour car ride, Dean had automatically wanted to head to the bar. With a sigh, you had gone along, knowing you weren’t going to survive this trip without some sort of alcohol in your system.

Luckily, Dean had picked a bar at the edge of town, away from where you school, your friends, even your ex lived. As you walked into the shabby bar, you breathed a sigh of relief when you saw nobody you recognized. Quickly ordering a couple of shots, you turned in your seat, listening to Dean talk as you scanned the bar.

“Oh shit.” You muttered, your face paling as you saw your asshole of an ex walking away from the pool table, heading directly your way. He was still as handsome as ever, with his sandy blonde hair, and his stormy greyish blue eyes.

“What is it?” Dean asked, about ready to turn around and see what had gotten you so upset.

“Hold my hand so he gets jealous.” You blurted out, holding your hand out. Without an argument, Dean linked his finger with yours, pulling you tight to his side just as Tanner walked up.

“Y/N, I thought that was you, but I had to double check. Last I remember you said you were never coming back to this town.” He started talking, already annoying you.

“Yeah, well things happen.” You grumbled, as Dean glanced between the two of you.

“Well, it’s my fault actually. I had business in town, and I didn’t want to leave my fiancee at home.” Dean played along easily, which you were grateful. The two of you were nothing more than friends, even though you wished to be much more.

“Fiancee?” Tanner asked. “And here I was, hoping you were going to try to heat things back up with me. We were good, weren’t we?”

“No, we weren’t.” You argued. “Especially when I walked in on you with your best friend, Brian.”

“Hey, don’t blame a man for swinging both ways!” He exclaimed, as Dean coughed. You knew Dean was trying to hold back a laugh.

“I don’t. But I do blame you for not being faithful. So goodbye Tanner.” You said, tugging Dean’s hand, and pulling him from his seat. Walking out of the bar, you quickly pulled your hand from Dean’s.  “Ew, your hand is sweaty.”

“Hey!” He argued. “It’s not my fault that I got nervous when the girl of my dreams finally shows me some sort of affection. Even if it was only to make an ex mad.”

Shocked, you could do nothing but stare at him. “What did you just say?”

Rubbing the toe of his boot in the gravel, he gazed up at you, his green eyes shining in the parking lot lights. “I said that I care about you! I’ve just been too chicken to actually say something.”

“Maybe coming back to my hometown was a good thing after all.” You muttered, grabbing his black t-shirt and pulling him against you, your lips connecting with his.

I think Lou does a great job on Harry's hair. Never understood the fuss. Curly hair is really tough to tame and I think she's done a great job with it. He messes with it all the time with his hands and it's like wavy/curly that's hard to replicate the same style over and over. She does a good job.

I didn’t see anyone bashing Lou - I’ve just heard about it. Regardless, I would not want Lou’s job. It doesn’t matter how many hours you spend grooming him - he’s going to fuck it all up the second he runs his hands through it, anyway. She does what she can! Bless her soul.

I think one of the strangest and saddest things about adversity is the things people say when you’re going through it. Whether its grief, a health scare, mental illness, or just a tough time at work, anyone’s immediate response to you is, “Stay strong!” We, as a society, value strength in those who are struggling. We want to hear the stories of the people who didn’t let themselves drown, who kept fighting, and who kept up a positive attitude throughout the whole damn thing. No one wants to hear about the tough days, the days that were so hard that you fought tears until you could be alone for five seconds. No one wants to hear about the days when you thought you just couldn’t make it. People want to hear and see strength and resolve.

I think it’s sad because the people who don’t survive aren’t weak. The people who struggle to come out of the other side aren’t lesser people. The people who ask for help or say, “Hey, I really don’t think I can do this” aren’t bad people. We value strength so much that we create the ideal sick person, the ideal fighter, the ideal survivor. And none of those things exist. But that expectation makes it so much harder to ask for help, to say that things are hard and you’re not sure if you’re going to make it and you just need someone on your side because being strong is HARD.

Yesterday, I asked for support and help. I was brave enough to admit I’m struggling and god bless all the people who came back and told me I’m strong. It was all so normal, so okay to hear, maybe even good. But then one person replied, “What can I do for you? What do you need?” And that, strangely, was more moving than I expected. What was I asking for? I wasn’t asking for reassurance that I was strong, I’ve fought enough to know that’s true. I was asking for support. I was asking for people to be in my corner. I was asking for someone to be aware and to check in and to step up.

It’s hard to watch people struggle, and I get that. I have no idea what to say to people who are grieving. But I think we have to start normalizing grief or illness, be it mental or physical, and we have to stop telling people to be strong when it’s hard to be, and start offering our strength when others can’t find theirs.

P/1 Recently theres been talk of a raven cycle tv show, many readers are pushing for the characters to be poc. My concern is that alot of people want Ronan to be poc, in canon he is irish and has extremely pale skin. I understand a poc can be irish however these readers seem to disregard the fact that hes irish. People have said if he is white it will ruin the tv show.

P/2 I feel that when readers think of diversity they ignore other underrepresented groups. I see erasing Ronans Irish heritage as a form of discrimination. Have you ever encountered something like this and do you think that it is discriminatory to do this to a character?

Oh, wow. I haven’t read TRC (yet), but from all the fanart I saw online I was sure that he was POC. This is such a tough question to answer because while the erasure of any culture is not good, it’s hard to answer this in a way that doesn’t make it seem like one culture is inherently better than the other and therefore that’s the one the casting people should choose.

I can’t help but think though that other characters in movies and TV shows have been extremely whitewashed (think recently about Ghost in the Shell and Deathnote) and THAT is obviously discrimination. But, discrimination takes on different forms too…

Can you tell I’m waffling here? Unfortunately I have no idea how to answer this (but as usual, I’d love to hear others’ thoughts!)

In a situation where I either need to get pregnant or have a hysterectomy (which will forever take away my chances of pregnancy). Does anyone have advice? I'm not financially ready for a child, but if I don't have a child now I will never be able to have a child (biologically).

That’s a tough one, love. I can’t begin to imagine what might have put you in that situation.

Disclaimer: I’m only 21 and I’m not seriously dating anyone that I would want to raise a child with, so I haven’t really thought this through in my own life yet at all.

Personally, I think getting pregnant just for the sake of getting pregnant is maybe not the best choice. Like you said, you’re not financially ready, so why put yourself in that situation? Do you have a partner that you would want to raise a child with?

A hysterectomy is pretty extreme, though. I wonder if having some eggs frozen and having someone be a surrogate for you later might be an option? Neither of those things come cheap, though, and if finances are a problem…

Barring all of that, adoption in the future might be your best option. You don’t want to bring a child into the world now and be unable to care for it. The possibility exists for you to be much better prepared to provide for a child later on in life, and to provide for a child that doesn’t otherwise have anyone.

Regardless of all of that, it’s your body. No one else can make that choice for you. I know it’s a tough one, but I have confidence that you can make the choice best for you right now.

Hey darling, how has your day been??? You haven't been active and I'm (and maybe more) are worried about you. I know you've queue post but that's it. Don't force yourself to write prompts if you can't. Losing a best friend is tough but try to talk to other friends. They can help. I love you

Hey huni, my day wasn’t the best. I’m exhausted and my prom date informed me that they will be going with another person…

Yes I know I haven’t been active, I’ve had no motivation/energy to do anything  :(

I need to write the prompts because I feel bad every time I see them I feel guilty because they’ve been there forever.

I didn’t think losing a best friend would effect me like this. I literally can’t take care of myself atm. I hate to say it but I have no other friends to confide in. I go to a very small school and people don’t usually like me. They also give me anxiety whenever I have to talk to them, about a personal problem. Also I don’t want to burden people with my domb problems when other people have there own.

That’s why it hurts so much to lose Ty as a friend because I never had anxiety talking to him, I told him everything. Now I can’t tell people and I’m just bottling it up :(

Sorry for ranting. I know it’s stupid.

re: Karan and Kajol's fall out - don't you think it wasn't any of Karan's business whether or not Ajay was cheating? And then if Kajol decided to stay, it was still not his problem. He interfered and she picked her husband... duh

I think for anyone to live a happy life, they have to recognize that friendship is just as important and meaningful as romantic relationships. You have friends around partially to tell you hard truths, like “Hey, your husband is cheating on you, you deserve better than that, why are you putting up with this?” A lot of friendships have broken up because one party just doesn’t want to hear it, but as a close friend I don’t think you’re being a good friend unless you’re willing to give tough love.

I mean, we’re making a lot of assumptions about the way the whole Karan/Kajol fight went down. We don’t know what was said or if the above scenario is even how it played out. But telling friends to just ~mind their own business~ is really short-sighted imo, like you’re only living a half life if you alienate your friends in order to save your relationship. So whatever happened between them, I find the idea that you’re always going to pick your husband over your friends, when sometimes your friends are the ones who truly have your best interests at heart, to be worrisome. If my friend was being mistreated and didn’t want to listen to anyone about it, I’d probably see myself out of that friendship too. I don’t think that’s interfering, I think that’s having your friend’s back, and if they don’t want you to have their back…there’s no point in even being friends with them imo. What are you going to talk about every time you hang out, the weather? It’s like the elephant in the room that you can’t ignore, and sometimes the best idea (for the tough-love-giving friend, anyway) is to just end the friendship altogether.

How do you think the Axis would raise child? Not them in a relationship with each other but just as a group.

(Prussia and Romano included) also i’m gonna do a few more points than usual.

  • This child is going to have one hell of a life, they will probably be adopted/found by Italy and the rest of them are dragged in from that point.
  • This kids gonna be tough, with not one but TWO angry dads on their arse (Germany and Romano) for the rest of their life
  • Japan is the odd one out, he can actually take care of the kid. the others…Lets just saying parenting isn’t on their list of talents
  • ZHE AWESOME PRUSSIA WILL TEACH THEM HOW TO DO AWESOME POSES, HIS MILKSHAKE BRINGS ALL ZHE BOYS! (TO HELL WITH JOUR MILKSHAKE)
  • The kiddo is going to have mastered the art of charm by one, The Italians will show them the art of seduction
  • Saying that the child will get a call home for seducing their nursery teacher.
  • If someone dares to hurt their baby they have three armies and The Mafia heading their way
  • They’ll go to school in Japan since he has one of the best curriculum in the world.
  • Dinner time is amazing no matter who cooks it (but when it’s Romano night IT’S PERFECTION)
  • Germany is the protective serious dad who has a hard time giving his baby away.
  • Italy is the “This is my child look at them LOOK. AT. THEM.” (shoves phone in persons face) dad.
  • Japan is the “Oh your child does martial arts? well mine’s a ninja, beat that Doris” Dad (sorry if your name is Doris)
  • Romano is the Dad that carries a shotgun with him whenever his child is asked out.
  • Prussia is the “MIEN AWESOME CHILD, LETS GO TO THE THEME PARK AND RIDE THE SUPER AWESOME TALL RIDES” dad.
  • Together they make amazing parents.

“it’s really annoying when you have nothing to act as a release for your struggles aside from writing only to be ignored, treated like shit and generally avoided when the going gets tough. Continuously deleting because of dead muse or tried of drama bullshit only to think about it being a good idea to come back and get the same treatment again, but having less people being there for you. i just don’t understand what’s the point in making someone feel like they’re not welcomed here at all?”

It's a tough call, but I vote Eli for most attractive.

I swear, Eli’s reaction went something along the lines of

“Wait, what?”

“That can’t be right. I didn’t think I was even in the running…”

“Pierce, you seeing this too? Someone else actually thinks I’m more attractive than born-flawless Meryl and actual-supermodel Colin!”

Eli for the rest of the day every time he thinks of it:

“Heck yeah, I’m so pretty!” :D

anonymous asked:

Following the question about the twins timeline. Which period of time do you think it was the most accurate for their story?

Hm.

This one’s tough because the most “correct” time period for Jane and Alec would be one with widespread witch-hunts: the early-modern era, spanning from roughly the 1500s to the mid-1600s. Regardless of their country of origin, there’d be a period of persecution in the region. Then, for extra accuracy-points, SM could research countries which didn’t burn witches (notably, England’s witches were hanged) and ensure that the twins didn’t come from there.

All that said, moving the twins’ origin-story forward in history kinda compromises the Volturi’s timeline. They needed Jane and Alec to decisively defeat the Romanians, after all.

Here’s what I’d do, if I were writing the story: make the Volturi defeat the Egyptians first and much earlier. (I love how Amun and co. were pretending to pagan gods in a Muslim-majority, Christian-minority nation in the canonical timeline. Who was worshipping them??) Then, in the 1300s, the Volturi would wage war against the Romanians, find themselves losing or at least not winning fast enough, and turn the twins in the 1500s, decisively winning  in the late 1500s.

neopuff replied to your post: What do you think about the arguments that say…

i sat here thinkin “i bet i could make a list of girls with redemption arcs!” but almost all of them are like…redemption episodes. or its 100% romance-related. or they werent really bad to begin with. i could only think of like 4 from my list of shows like wtf i never realized how few there were

right! i always think there are plenty, but there just aren’t. terra remains one of the few complex ones (particularly because the romance angle is rather downplayed, even though it’s definitely there). azula is another great one, and i think it’s why she’s still super memorable and loved, because they really crafted her well.

What will you tell someone who would be travelling to Korea for the 1st time?

oh man, that’s a tough one hahah i’d say:

1. try your best to learn hangul

2. do not be afraid to ask questions even in broken korean or small english words, people will help you!

3. also dont be afraid about what people think of you - i’m very guilty of this but all it does is ruin your time. fully absorb and enjoy everything as much as you want to and dont worry about what some onlooker thinks (they’ll forget you soon haha)

4. be prepared to want to come back, asap

hope that helps!

I was at a coffee shop this morning

and i notice a person with Roadhog’s style of hair and a biker style jacket

then the barista gave him his drink and said something like “I know you like your drinks sweet so if you want more vanilla just tell me”

and like

holy shit

tough looking person who likes cute or sweet things is perfect

I think I briefly fell in love……
