nostalgia pop

I don’t know how to put this really, but it just seems so ridiculous to me how even people like Savan who were literally writing music for a boy band, denigrate it at the same time. It seems partially to be because it is “manufactured” –which like, what pop music isn’t marketed and manufactured to some degree? – but also mostly because of who they consider the intended audience to be: girls.

It gets so tiring sometimes wondering how long it’s going to be before people realize that first of all, girls aren’t some brainless buying machine without any discernible taste, and second, girls definitely aren’t the only ones consuming boyband music, despite the stereotype. Like, you play WMYB or bye bye bye at a wedding and people are going to be pretty happy about it, regardless of age or gender.
