Inspired by the beautiful Fair Isle cardigan I thrifted a few weekends ago, I finally dug up the yarn I picked up at Pickles in Oslo, the last time we visited Norway. Enjoying a few hours on the porch before it gets too hot! ☀️
This wild beauty was made with a luxurious Alpaca and Wool fiber that is lightly heathered for a wonderful earthy texture. In some Native American cultures the Buffalo represents Strength and Abundance which is echoed by the spiral symbol in the middle. The crossed arrows on the sleeves represent friendship which makes this sweater the prefect friendship gift!
more sweater doodles. the top right hand one is looking the most likely for the mitten kit to be used for, the one below it might be done in red/black/white alpaca if I don’t make and dye yarn for it instead, in which it might be white/green/blue/dark burgandy
thank heavens for elizabeth zimmerman’s books. makes it easier to write patterns.
I guess the next step will be spinning and dyeing yarns. also to break out colored pencils and plan out Moth shawls.
