Baby You're Electric
Jerome takes the reader to the roof for a surprise.
A/N– This was kinda based of the song Electric Love, but I just really like the idea of Jerome taking his love on the roof during a lightning storm.
Warning– none (:
Rating– Just some good old fluff
Title– Baby You’re Electric
Living with Theo Galavan and the Maniax was… interesting to say the least. You were pulled from Arkham with the rest of these lunatics. Sometimes you felt like you were the only slightly sane one. As of right now you were curled up like a cat in front of the fireplace reading your favorite book. A huge storm was raging over Gotham. Thunder boomed in the sky and the darken penthouse periodically lit up with flashes of lightning. “Y/n! Y/n!” A voice called out your name. You felt a smile pull on your lips. “In here Jerome.” You called back. Out of all of the Maniax members, Jerome was by far was your favorite. While there were times where you severely questioned your own thinking, you couldn’t help notice how sweet he was towards you. You were his partner in crime and you knew he secretly cared you. While he would never say it, you were rather good at reading people. Jerome popped his head in the living room. “Y/n!” He ran towards you and at the last second, did a somersault, sprawling right next to you.
“Yes Jerome?” You playfully rolled your eyes.
“I’ve got something to show you Doll.” Your heart fluttered slightly. You loved it when he called you doll.
“Hmmm. Maybe later I’m reading.” You said coyly turning away from him.
Suddenly the ground vanished beneath you. “Jerome!” You gasp, your book falling from your grasp. You were nestled in his strong, warm arms. You squirmed a little bit. “No Jerome, I’m too heavy.” You were so self conscious about your weight.
Jerome laughed, “No you’re not Doll, I’ve got you.”
He carried you to his room despite your string of protests. “Jerome please… put me… Jerome… I swear to god Jerome… where are you taking me?”
“Come on Y/n.” He gently threw you on his bed, his eyes gleaming.
You froze, your eyes wide. What was he going to do?
He leaned forward until your heads were parallel. You felt paralyzed, your heart beating erratically. His tongue darted out as he licked his lips. Then he stood up and turned towards his window. “Follow me, Doll.” He opened his window. Outside rain was pouring down hard. He stood on the ledge of his window and reached out to his right. His muscles flexed and he pulled himself out of the window and out of sight. You scramble out of his bed and look out the window. You see a metal ladder about a foot to your right. “Crazy.” You murmur. Taking a deep breath, you grab the slick metal. Your arm was barely long enough. Using all of your strength, you pull yourself to the ladder, the pouring rain instantly soaking you. You climb the ladder up to the roof. There is Jerome, sitting on the ledge of the building, countless stories above the ground.
“You’re not going to jump, are you?” You ask shakily.
“No doll. Come here.” You finish your climb and walk towards him. He takes your arm as you sink down to sit next to him, your legs dangling over the edge.
“What did you want to show me?” You asked.
He pointed out. The whole of Gotham was spread out in front of you. Every few seconds, huge strikes of lightning would light up parts of the sky.
“Beautiful.” You whisper.
“Yes you are.”
You turn to look at him. You were surprised to see fire in his eyes. Fire and lightning and rain and everything good in the world. He reaches out and cups your chin. When he finally kisses you, everything was electric. His mouth was warm and moved slowly against yours. You reach out and wrap your arms around his neck, your soaked shirt chilling you to the bone. Pulling away you saw lightning flash close to you.
“You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting to do that.”
“Why didn’t you do it sooner?” You ask.
Lightning struck again and he pulled you in for another kiss.
