13 Reasons Why was met with the most backlash I’ve ever seen. I have NEVER seen anybody on this site agree on anything in such a unanimous way that 13rw was bad. And yet it got renewed for a second season.
Then you have The Get Down, a show barely surviving in the first place because Netflix gave it LITTLE TO NO PROMOTION and it isn’t even in the first 3 pages of the “Netflix Originals” scroll list. So many people loved this show, there was so much effort to try and get it to renew but it got cancelled.
Many of the zines are last edition so if you’ve been waiting this is a good chance to grab them~ I’ve gotten some new limited pins and some other new stock AND restocked on almost all my items, get your holiday shopping done early >w<
NOTE: If you bought a FLAWED galaxy syringe or fossil and want the new one place an order & include your old invoice w/ the purchase and i’ll refund the $8!
Thank you for your support, if you’re still here. I know i don’t deserve any followers especially for leaving this blog fallow for so long so I appreciate each and everyone one of you who are still here <3
Today on twitter someone told me I should SUPPORT the shows and movies I’m talking about instead of just tweeting about it because “tweeting about it doesn’t get them views/money” and I’ve never, ever, encountered someone who so badly missed the point of my entire online brand. Wildest thing someone ever said to me.
I love how netflix shows always get a lot of hype and rarely get cancelled (if never) YET the one show that’s only about the black and latinx community doesn’t get any support aaand get’s cancelled after 1 season, mmm wonder why
You know, it’s oddly appropriate and perhaps inspiring that the Sonic franchise as a whole is just as persistent, durable, and defiant as Sonic himself is.
People keep wondering if or when it’ll get cancelled. Other people keep hoping out of spite that it’ll get cancelled. But like the blue hedgehog himself, it never stays down. The franchise still stands triumphantly no matter what is thrown at it. Other franchises would have collapsed if they had been in the same shoes, and yet Sonic remains standing, tall and proud, with a fanbase as large as ever.
I guess It Doesn’t Matter applies just as much to the franchise as it does to the character. Because like Sonic the hero, Sonic the series will never give up the fight.
Back with another AU from that list, this is number 31 which was requested by a Nonnie.
Betty is trying to get over a bad break up, Veronica and her sister convince her to have a little ‘fun’ with a male escort.
Rating: Not sure whether this is quite smut but I would say it’s NSFW.
Betty sat on the couch, her posture straight and stiff even in her own home. The urge to hold herself in a certain way permeated everything that she did, always. She crossed her legs before huffing in frustration and uncrossing them again. She glanced at the time on her phone again, her bottom lip caught in her teeth as the seconds were counting down. The time approaching minute by minute. She wondered if it would be too late to pull out. To cancel the whole thing. But that was not the polite thing to do.
Then again what was planned for tonight was hardly the thing a lady would do.
She crossed her legs again as her teeth continued to worry her bottom lip. A loud knock on the door disrupted her from her thoughts and worries. She got up promptly smoothing down her dress as she passed herself in a mirror stopping briefly to take in her appearance. She tucked a loose strand behind her ears. A loose bun pulled her hair away from her face. She had given up trying to tame her locks in high school. Giving up the tight, precise pony tail, her trademark away in once she reached college. She gave a nod at her own reflection before she went to the door.
This was it, no backing out now.
Betty tried to keep her composure as she opened her door and was greeted by a dark haired man about a head taller than herself with a head of hair that she felt a sudden urge to run her fingers through. Deep blue eyes met her own and she resisted the urge to pull her lip between her teeth again, instead clenching her hands into tiny fists. He was all her fantasies materialised and waiting on her doorstep. He was wearing a suit and she couldn’t help but feel that he looked out of place in her down market apartment building. He continued to lean up against the wall next to the door frame as Betty’s eyes raked over his form. He was her type. No doubt about that. She already felt hot under the collar as he gave her a soft smile before straightening himself and offering her his hand.
“Betty Cooper?” She nodded as her hand gripped his. Feeling it being shaken as she continued to stare.
“You can call me Jughead.” Her hand stilled at the name. Veronica had already told her that they didn’t use their real names, but that felt a little too ridiculous. But she didn’t question it any further. “May I come in.” She nodded, as she released her hand from his and moved away from the doorway so that he could brush past her. She closed the door behind him taking a deep breath before she turned around.
I'm sure lots of people have said this but you are sooo inspiring! I knew I was bisexual for a while and was scared to tell my friends and family. I just thought about how amazing Magnus is and how his (and every other character) sexuality doesn't define them as a person. He is one of my favorites and helped me come out. Thank you for all the help you have given to all of us readers. I heard something about The Secret Treason being cancelled and I wondered if it was true. Have a nice day :)
It’s not so much cancelled as on hold. I’m pretty overwhelmed right now with three Shadowhunter series and I just can’t do another project, so it waits in the wings like a lonely ballerina.
A wonderful show was created. And then someone took an accountant’s decision to cancel it.
And then the fans came together and they met and they wrote and they agitated.
And then those Firefly fans got AN ENTIRE MOVIE, because hey, there’s a market, and that’s what mattered to the investors.
And it was glorious.
So I’m just saying. There’s a precedent. The Wachowskis are known, foremost, as filmmakers. And if they want to do it, let’s do it. Let’s support them.
Let’s do a Serenity.
Bring on the Sense8 movie.
I posted a longer thing which Tumblr ate but basically Network television has setup a model where they base a show’s worth on initial viewers, then cancel the show, and wonder why viewers are reluctant to watch a new show, which leads to lower ratings, which gets more shows cancelled and the cycle continues.
That and the fact that network tv writers don’t seem to realize that character driven stories with intelligent premises are valued way more than plot driven nonsense with tons of twists where they assume the audience is stupid and won’t notice when things contradict, don’t make sense or are out of previously established characterizations or lack actual motivation.
This is exactly why shows on streaming services are better. They value the characters and good stories and the business model and non commercial dependent revenue stream mean people can take a chance on the show without worrying it’s getting pulled a few episodes in, and they can actually invest in the show itself.
okay but ive been wondering this for like 2 years (since they cancelled the inhumans movie): why do x-men stans want inhumans to fail?
FOX claimed the sole movie rights to X-men back in the 2000′s
Marvel starts making successful movies of there own a bit later
Marvel now wants those movie rights to the X-men back
Fox is like nah
Comics aren’t very profitable anymore
movies are VERY profitable
marvel starts aligning their comics with the movies, hoping they will sell more that way, thinking movie-goers will want to go out and buy the comics
X-men comics are best sellers and have like 15 titles
wait a minute
Free advertising for movies we didn’t make?
We’re generating hype for FOX??
Aw hell no
Tank the x-men comics. Just like. Extinct them or something. Kill off their leader. Cut down on titles. Slowly but gradually we’ll make them less relevant.
….but we DO have the movie right to the inhumans tho….
But sir, hardly any one knows of the inhumans, they’re pretty obscure to general audiences-
-look, If we can make the guardians of the galaxy a hit, we can do anything
Marvel starts pushing the Inhumans in comics while shoving X-men titles in a broom cupboard on the basement level of Marvel inc
….while changing the core message of these inhumans comics to one of ‘Survival against prejudice’ ‘Normal people are now waking up with inhuman powers and learning to cope with them’ while ‘trying to fit in with the human race and other super powered factions’
