no matter how many times i draw it

anonymous asked:

What can you say about art style theft and tracing/stealing? And the difference between being inspired and copying??

OH boy, my time to say my opinion

I remember, when I was 10, I actually tried to mimic an art style for practice, I wasn’t on internet yet so the stuff I tried to draw are unposted) and let me say: it’s impossible. No matter how much you’re good, you can’t copy perfectly an art style for calling it a theft.

Tracing/Stealing is so many levels wrong, if it was using an art piece as reference and iusing it for improving would be another topic (always if the reference piece was credited and the piece for improving was shown to the reference’s artist) but tracing or stealing: ya won’t learn a shit

And lastly, there’s a HUGE difference between getting inspired and copying:

Getting inspired is more a help or something that gets you with motivation, sometimes you might do it on purpose, but sometimes you realize after.

Let me say this, the whole body and soul stuff I use with Drew and Aiden was inspired of the most famous Undertale theory about Chara: they are the narrator and are a ghost that follows Frisk.
I really like that idea, pretty common let’s face it, and wanted to do a story of mine like that (I already had Aiden before of knowing this theory but what made me want to have them as a character again was that). Then I got inspired but many fellows and added stuff I really liked that I’ve thought on my own

Copying would be rewriting Undertale’s plot

(ya might have meant by drawing but in the end writing is art too)

“Where are we even going?”
“Omg Pidge would you just shut up for like, five seconds? We’re almost there.”
“Maybe I just like the sound of my own voice, Lance. Not everything is about you, you know. Maybe I’m just–”

“…This is what I wanted to show you.”
“Happy Birthday, Pidge.”

It’s Pidge’s birthday so obviously I had to draw SOMETHING.

It turned into Plance. Go figure.

You finish the last page of your sketchbook. You turn the page. There are at least five pages left. Unfilled sketchbooks surround you.

“Is that anime” someone behind you asks. You put down your stick of charcoal. You are in a life drawing class. The person behind you isn’t supposed to be here.

“I wish I could draw!” someone tells you. You give them a withering stare. They do not know what they wish for. You haven’t slept in four years.

No matter how many times you wash your hands, they are still covered in oil paint. You don’t use oils. You don’t remember the last time you used oil paint.

You are drawing in your sketchbook. Someone grabs it while they ask if they can see it. As the sketchbook leaves your hands the piece of your soul that you put in it dies.

Your classes are either at 7 in the morning or 7 at night. There is no in between. Part of you wonders if there is even a point in leaving the art building after your evening class. You’ll be back in less than a few hours anyways.

Nobody calls the art professors by their last names. When you ask what their last names are they tell you to just call them by their first names. You check your class schedule. No last names are listed.

Your roommate asks if you can do a drawing for their biology project. You ask if it’s paid. They look confused. “It will be easy,” they tell you. “You’re so talented.” You haven’t left your room in four days. Your eyes and hands ache from working. You tell them no, and they leave, annoyed.

I’m Done

No matter how many times I ask, insist, or demand, they just keep taking, translating and republishing my comics on Amino Espanol Community. I’m exhausted by it. I don’t want to draw something anymore when it’s just taken and used however by whoever, and my consent is being disregarded.
Even making it a pdf and putting “Do Not Repost” was not enough! At this point, if I ever finish Le Parfum de l'Amour, it won’t be for a Very. Long. Time.

I think some of the best advice I’ve learned to give myself spiritually is no matter how much I sin or fall, no matter how many times, no matter how guilty or ashamed I feel, never stop coming to Jesus. Never let it hold you back or keep you away from drawing close to Him and trying to grow. Never tire of repenting, even if it feels like you repeatedly repent for many of the same things. Sin is inward and it takes more than a one time conviction for the behaviors to fully follow and get out of habits or the depths of our depravity. Accept the truth you’re forgiven and free when you come to Christ and genuinely want Him to continue to change your heart to be more like His, and move forward. If I stop moving toward Him because I am letting my sin become greater than his grace and mercy, I am doubting the power of His redeeming work to the power of my flesh. Paul reassures us in Romans nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus. If that is our reality, then we shouldn’t let anything, no matter how bad, how frequent, how difficult it is to overcome, how long it takes to get past- none of that should ever stop us from still coming to Him and seeking to become more like Him. Don’t give up because of your sin or fallings. Look to Christ. The whole point of the cross was not only that Christ paid the price to remove our condemnation, but He triumphed victoriously over all sin and death. The same power that raised Christ from the dead lives in us, and we can overcome. Believe that. Don’t let discouragement drag you down or get stuck at “I obviously can’t be holy.” Of course you can’t, we’re sinful by nature, which is why we desperately need Jesus- but there is bright hope in knowing we have Him, and He is able.

I dont usually make comic strips and im really bad at it. But at some point this depressing thoughts just consumed me.

(this will be a long rant and post)**As much as I dont want it to get to me, it does. And its really hard to get away. Im no saint either, I can get hurt and I can get jealous. I have had so many thoughts when seeing other artist or cosplayers, eventhough I tried not to think badly sometimes It just comes. I have had so many thoughts where I see other artists and feel that my art is not good enough or sometimes think that why some people get recognized more than what I do? As much as I dont care about notes or likes to be honest I do sometimes, because it still gets to me that the more likes and notes u get, the better your art is. I put so many details, i took so many days but it didnt get as much appreciation as I thought it would be. Sometimes I feel that I tried my best and I put a lot of accuracy to my costumes, I make it as neat as possible, as straight as possible and as accurate shape as possible. But people just dont look at it and dont appreciate it. But again I cant expect people to look at these stuffs and expect them to like my stuffs. “Do what you like and if you put your heart enough people will for sure notice!” thats what people say, but in reality it doesnt work like that. I just cant help thinking that my stuffs are not good enough. Is it my personality sometimes? is it my art? do they not appeal? do people not like it? what do ppl think about it? I just cant get my head around it. This goes on and on, I cried and Ive gone through depression because of this. There are so many things I want to say but I dont think its necessary to put all in here.

However, As much as these things consumed me. Ill go back and see the people that supports me too. It might not be as much as other people have, but They mean a lot to me. All these messages I got from my store review, tumblr messages, comments and etc. I read them all. I never really thank enough for it. Its selfish of me to think about all these negativity, but sorry that i couldnt help it. But again, because of you guys, no matter how many times I go through these stages, I stands up again. Like I say I cant thank you enough for all your supports, they always made my day and it whats keep me going!.

So from the bottom of my heart I would like to THANK ALL OF YOU for supporting me up until now, It keeps me motivated and I will try to do better to improve!

Im posting this to remind me also to never forget the support ive received and hopefully I can lessen all these negative thoughts in the future.

Hi me again. I have another daughter request if you don't mind. Only this time for the s family. So their daughter is still just a little fledgling and her first time feeding is from her dad? Like he's coaching her and helping her by letting her feed from his arm?

I had fun writing this! It was too cute and I have a strong love for DiaDads!

“Hold onto my arm and take a bite when you’re ready. No, it won’t hurt me. I promise.”

Shu was patient with his little daughter and straight to the point with his lessons when he first taught her how to feed. When she showed signs of hesitation, he would remind her that she cannot always hesitate when biting her prey for blood. No matter how many times she messed up, Shu would pat her head and tell her that she would become better with practice, earning a small smile of hope from his dear daughter. When she finally starts to draw blood successfully, Shu would praise her lightly but then pull his arm away, teasing her as her father to see the small pout she had inherited from her mother. He’ll have to teach her how to choose and hunt down her prey next, but that would happen on another day.

“Please bite firmly. It must be a clean and solid bite when you pierce your fangs to draw blood. No, it is better to practice with this, my dear.”

Papa Reiji was a little stubborn in giving his own blood to his precious daughter. He decided to train her first with a plastic blood bag so that she could learn how to bite and drain blood properly, but that all backfired in an instant when she punctured through the bag with her tiny fangs, causing the blood to spill everywhere on the floor. It’s not until Reiji gets frustrated with his daughter that he yanks his long white sleeves down from his arm and instructs her to partake from him instead that she achieves success. Reiji would then sigh in relief, and congratulate his daughter as a result, causing the small Sakamaki female to feel happy.

“Of course you’ll be fine! Ore-sama will teach you everything that you have to know! Just trust me!”

Ayato was more than eager to teach his young daughter to feed as a true vampire. His credentials were obviously the best because he’s THE BEST and with that in his mind, he decided that she should feed from his neck instead. After telling her to bite hard enough to break through the skin, Ayato would grin and wait for his daughter’s shining moment. Little did he know that the young Sakamaki girl had witnessed him bite her mother harshly before, and when she followed in suit of her father’s actions, Ayato let out a painful scream that echoed throughout the mansion. He didn’t think she would bite him so roughly! From that point on, Ayato has to remind himself to be more gentle when biting his s/o because he is his daughter’s most important role model.

“Eh? Ask your Mother. She should know.”

Kanato would dismiss his child’s request to learn how to feed, informing her to go ask her mother instead, even though his s/o was still a human being! It’s not until he sees his daughter looking blue when she’s around her other cousins boasting about their first feeding lessons does he feel that she is of age to learn how to properly feed as a vampire. He’d randomly call her over to him one day and allow her to bite into his wrist, warning her that if she bit too hard that he would punish her later for it. But Kanato’s daughter is aware of how fragile her father is and quickly picks up on the concept of biting and drawing blood. When she withdraws from his wrist, Kanato would smile and comment on how wonderful of a girl she was, earning a giggle from the girl.

“Oh~? My little dove wants to be a big girl already? I guess this day would have to come sooner or later, nfu~.”

Laito would sit his daughter in his lap and present his wrist to her, telling her to look closely for his blue or purple veins. When she was able to detect them, Laito would then advise her to pierce his skin with her fangs to draw out fresh blood. Nodding at his instructions, Laito’s daughter would quickly chomp down on his wrist, causing the elder Sakamaki to wince at how strong his daughter’s biting strength was. At least she wouldn’t have a problem drawing blood in the future, right? Nevertheless, when she pulls away with blood streaking down her chin, Laito would laugh and attempt to wipe it off. It wouldn’t be long before she stopped seeking for his blood and desired for someone else’s, so he would come to enjoy these moments with her.

“Oi, take your time. You need to learn how to puncture deeper into my skin. Don’t be afraid.”

For once, our tsundere is demonstrating tons of patience. Subaru understood how important it was for his daughter to learn how to use her fangs, so he would sit her down one day and offer her his arm to practice on. Unfortunately for him, Subaru’s daughter would leave bite marks all over his arm because of the fact that she couldn’t properly bite into him. But that wouldn’t stop him from encouraging her to try again, and when she finally gets the hang of it, Subaru would praise her while looking at his damaged arm. Luckily his daughter picked up on healing methods for a vampire and would kiss his arm better, thanking her father in return for being the best teacher to her. Subaru would be a blushing mess afterwards because of how sickeningly sweet his daughter was.

“Feeding? Don’t you think you’re still too young for that? Fine, fine, I suppose you can start learning.”

Initially, Kino wasn’t a big fan of teaching his daughter how to properly feed as a vampire. He’d tell her to begin by feeding on one of his ghouls until his s/o threw a fit and threatened to take their daughter to one of her Sakamaki uncles for a better lesson. Disgusted that one of his brothers would give their blood to his daughter, Kino avoided the bullet and decided to start small by giving her his finger. But when Kino’s daughter couldn’t draw enough blood from it, he allowed her to partake from his arm, giving her more leeway to use her developing fangs. When his daughter was able to feed from his arm, Kino would pull it away from her and walk away, commenting that she would need to learn to find her own prey now. he’s such an asshole

Offering ideas for dragon spirits

Based on what I’ve given to my dragon friend, what he liked, and what he has suggested I can give him in the future. I’m writing this as a list of ideas for myself, but I thought maybe someone would like to read them:

-His own tarot deck to communicate through (refuses to share a deck with an angel).

-A lighter in a color he likes, specially if I’m going to use it to light candles for him.

-Candles in colors he likes, or with a scent he likes, or anointed with an oil he likes (he really wants to try almond oil for some reason, so I’m going to use that in the near future). Update: almond oil is great and smells nice, he likes it.

-Sharing food with him. He really likes anything with meat, fast food, and dark chocolate. (Curious because I’ve always been told spirits don’t like highly processed foods, but he really enjoys the strong flavors of fast food).

-Compliments. I’ve never wrote anything down, but whenever I directly tell him how majestic he looks he’s like ‘tell me more…’

-Exercise o_O He likes the energy that stems off from me while I exercise, and no matter how many times I explain to him that I’m just a blob trying to keep my heart healthy, he’ll be cheering for me like “No pain no gain! You have to train hard so one day you can be a great warrior again! GO GO GO GO GO!”. At least when I’m done he’s really tender and lets me know I did a great job, haha.

-Drawings. He likes it when I draw portraits of him, or things inspired on him.

-Flowers. Specially orange flowers in his case.

-Music. He likes it when I let him chose what we’ll listen. He likes jazz, and metal, specially if it’s really heavy or power metal.

-Videos. The videos he’s been enjoying lately are those with curiosities about the human body, and those of people reading through their middle school/high school journals. I think he’s curious about other humans.

That’s all that comes to mind now. I’ll add more if more pops up later.

Fears - Jinyoung

Jinyoung’s finger tips run along my exposed arm as I lean against his bare chest. He’s far too quiet. I know at times he lets his thoughts take over, but I wonder what exactly is occupying his mind. It scares me sometimes what he’s capable of thinking. At times they’re the silliest thoughts then at times they can break him entirely apart.

I was wondering... how do you manage to capture likeness on a real life situation? Considering for how little time people stay still

with the observational stuff I make fifty shitty drawings and out of those there’s maybe 1 or 2 good enough to go on the internet. It’s a matter of luck. And practice I guess. Subway trains are a good place to start then move on to more lively subjects. Also avoid drawing using too many tiny lines, figure out how to capture what you see in big/long strokes.

Would You Still- Adrinette Month Day One

It’s an idle question, on the roof of a building, as the sun rises. Curiosity, maybe, although she knows what he’ll say.

“If I wasn’t Ladybug, would you still love me?”

“Of course I would,” he laughs. “You’d still be my Lady. You’re my other half. We were made for each other, mask or no mask.”

She grins, and grabs his hand tightly. “Do you promise, Chaton?”

“I promise.” He winks. “Race you to the Eiffel?”

She shakes her head, leaping to her feet. “You’re on.”

She wins the race, as usual, and he laughs, bowing to her. “You’re the best, what can I say?”

“Say you love me.”

“I love you more than the stars.”

She believes him.

They’re sitting on her balcony and she’s watering the flowers.

“You’re so beautiful in the sunlight, like that,” he tells her. “I love you so much…”

“If I wasn’t beautiful, would you still love me?” she asks, raising an eyebrow at him.

“Of course I would,” he smiles. “But you could never be less than beautiful, Marinette. You shine. You’re caring, and kind, and strong. You will always be beautiful.”

“If I wasn’t though?” she presses.“

He shrugs. "I love you, Princess. The way you look is nice, but it’s you that I love,” he says, and he strokes her face gently.

She believes him.

They sit in school, in the library.

“What are you drawing?” he asks, peering over at her sketchbook.

“I’m drawing you, so sit still!” she laughs.

“You draw really well, Marinette.”

She raises an eyebrow. “If I couldn’t-?”

“Of course I would,” he cuts her off. “Honestly, Marinette, how many times do I have to say I’ll love you no matter what for you to believe me?”

She bites her lip, looking down. “I’m sorry… I’m being stupid.”

He shakes his head. “No, not stupid. But you should know that I’ve always loved you. I always will,” he kisses her cheek. “No matter what happens.”

She believes him.

They’re in his room, and she hugs him tightly, as they lie in his bed.

He kisses her forehead, and she cuddles closer to him. “Adrien?”

“Yes, my Lady?”

She laughs, but there’s something broken in her voice. “If I was hiding something from you… something bad, and you found out… would you still love me?”

He frowns at her words. “Of course I would. But what could you be hiding that’s so bad?”

She clings closer to him, shaking her head. “Adrien, just promise me.”

He sighs, and holds her closer. “Of course. I promise. I will love you until the day I die, my Lady.”

She believes him.

He stares in shock as she approaches him, the city burning behind her. “Adrien…”

“Don’t. I don’t understand, what are you doing?” he shakes his head, stepping away from her.

“I had to… Adrien, I love you, so much, and they… they were going to hurt you, and…” she looks up at him. Miss Fortune’s eyes are not blue, but grey. “If I wasn’t good, if I lost my soul, would you still love me?”

He closes his eyes. “Of course I would,” he tells her, taking her hand and letting the white sweep over his suit. “I guess we really were made for each other. Made into Fortune… and Blanc.”

She looks on the verge of tears, and hugs him tightly. “Thank you…”

“I will stand with you forever. I will always love you.”

She believes him.

[YOI] Random staff twitter conversation

I was asked to translate an amusing Twitter conversation that happened earlier so here it is!

Tweet by Takashi Shiina (author of Zettai Karen Children etc, he likes YOI), actually this is from October 29th, not sure why the staff spotted it now.

“For some reason, I had the impression that I saw a certain image when I watched the anime for the first time, but even re-watching it I couldn’t find it, so I’m drawing a rough sketch of it. Please someone finish it for me.”

Reply by Noriko Itou (animation director for YOI):

“I tried drawing it, but no matter how many times I look at it there’s no scene like this…”

Mitsurou Kubo intervenes (not linking the tweet because it’s just text):
“Princess carry… It’s curious, because I have the feeling it already happened but indeed we’ve never drawn something like that… Why…?”

“We must have missed something… They should just go ahead and skate on the rink like that…”

Additional note:
On her Twitter, Kubo later commented that in figure skating there are actually level 4 (=high score) princess carry and other techniques involving lifts. (I interpret this comment as her way of saying that talking about princess carry on an ice rink is not necessarily off topic because there are indeed techniques like that in pair skating and ice dance, lol)

They’re just so amusing and so random, lol… But I agree with the person who wrote in the comments: “I’m sure you’re just saving it for season 2, aren’t you?”.

its 4 am and i have to be up early but here i am drawing gay

It starts when she’s six years old and she’s playing dolls up in her room. The word hello scribes itself on her arm, the letters are messy and childish just as if she’s written them herself.  But Marinette knows she doesn’t have a marker in her hand for she is literally holding her doll. The green letters impishly tease her as her heart beats. For a moment, she closes her eyes, screws them so tight she can see little spots dance on the backs of her eyelids.
