no but where was this class in my high school

anonymous asked:

I accidentally came out to my Adult Roles college class today. I didn't realize that they talk about asexuality in college courses and not in high school courses where I'm from. So when the slide on asexuality came up on the board I yelled, "That's me!!" I only meant to say it to my friend who sits next to me but I got so excited.... and now the whole class knows... I'm usually a really shy person, so you can probably guess what happened next..

You remind me of an anime character. :D

in my high school english class we had to write an APC (Assertion/Proof/Commentary) on the section of Of Mice and Men where Lenny kills Curley’s wife and we came up with “Curley’s wife feels lonely sometimes. This is shown in the text when she says, ‘I feel lonely sometimes.’ This shows that she feels lonely sometimes.” and ive never seen a teacher that angry before

Okay. So #studyblrs get real isn’t trying to offend anyone. I’ve gotten some anon messages that are really rude and I’ve just straight up deleted them.

#studyblrs get real is just that, we’re getting real. I’ve rewritten my notes to be aesthetically pleasing one time. Uno. Ein. Yeah that’s the only languages I know one in.

The studyblr aesthetic isn’t most people’s real life studies methods. It’s some people’s, and I want to congratulate those who manage to keep the aesthetic up.

But honestly, it’s not real life. Real life is being up at 2 AM, surrounded by four empty cups, Rice Krispies Treat wrappers, and a pizza box with just pizza crust in it, and grease marks on your paper. Real life is not having time to make these AMAZING and GORGEOUS notes, because you’re studying for the grade, NOT the notes.

People say you just need to “study” to be a studyblr, but why is it only the MUJIs, the Mildliners, and the Staedtlers get reblogged? Why doesn’t the pictures of sloppy, coffee stained notes get reblogged? The rain drenched crinkled notes that don’t get rewritten. The notes with more scribbles than legible writing.

Underneath is why I think that #studyblrs get real needs to become popular, and fast, which has been taken from what I said in a conversation with @universi-tea where the idea for #studyblrs get real came up.

Teens that are growing up may not know what they’re facing, because aesthetic studyblr makes it look like sunshine and lollipops.

“I’ve been through things that will commonly happen. I’ve been rejected by my dream school, and I’ve cried at 4 AM in the morning because my fourth SAT scores weren’t high enough to meet requirements after months of studying. I’ve taken AP classes. I’ve graduated.

Your high school/college/university experience may have been different, but mine was a rude awakening and I’m trying to prevent others from crashing and burning like I did. I was an all A student in high school, even with AP classes. I graduated fifth in my class with 25 credits from AP scores, in which my school only offered seven AP classes.

My first test in uni was a 38 in Business Calculus. A fucking 38 out of 100. I remember it very vividly (Thursday night, and the Blacklist was on.) It was like someone was trying play a joke on me because I had NEVER gotten that low of a test grade before. I remember looking at my scores, and the sense of dread settling into the pit of my stomach. I cried, and then called my old AP Bio teacher (idk why now that I think about it) I had a panic attack, and I was by myself (lived alone.) Those two are very dangerous. My next test score was a 51. Rinse, and repeat.

Do you know how worthless I felt? How long my mom yelled at me after I called her? How my friends reacted when they found out? I went and had a four hour conversation with the professor, who told me that this was the most common thing he saw in a class with freshmen in it. That they come thinking that they’re prepared and they are by no means prepared. I had to go to tutoring. For every single class but one. This was so fucking embarrassing. I had gone from the tutor in HS to the tutored in Uni.

My best friend went to the North Carolina School of Math and Science. Extremely prestigious, and extremely hard. “It’s like taking uni classes when you’re 16, 17, and 18, but you don’t get credit for them as college classes.” I’ve known my best friend since I was 10-ish. She’s the most level headed, and the smartest person I know. She calls me frequently, crying, because the work load. She spent a whole week with me trying to get over one failing grade.

This embarrassment, this shame and lack of self worth I experienced in uni is something I NEVER want ANYONE to experience. I’m trying to prevent these people younger than I am from feeling this way, because I had sunk into a depression because of grades. Grades that could’ve been prevented, had I known the truth.

Sure, the studyblr aesthetic may work in some people’s lives, but in college/uni, you’re being pulled in so many directions. I don’t know of a single person in any of my classes that have gorgeous notes. Hell, I don’t know anyone who can even afford to buy nice planners, or buy fresh fruit. Being “a broke college student” is entirely legit.

But all this aside, if you’ve managed to live out the studyblr aesthetic in university and keep up your grades, you better be DAMN proud of yourself. I’m not trying to make anyone mad. This is the reality most of us experience. It’s the honest truth, and I had to find out the hard way. I just don’t want anyone else to find out the hard way, either.“

OH OH OH PLEASE TELL US A BOARDING SCHOOL STORY PRETTY PLEASE

so my school had this thing called “senior skip day,” except that senior skip day didn’t exist and every year the administration sent out emails in the spring that were like DON’T FUCKIN SKIP CLASS OR YOU WILL RECEIVE RESTRICTION (restriction was like, my boarding school’s equivalent of detention where instead of staying after school you had to go to bed early and help stuff envelopes advertising the summer program until your hands were BLOODIED AND CRIPPLED BY CARPAL TUNNEL) and every year the seniors were like YOLO THEY CAN’T PUNISH ALL OF US!!!!!

  • spoiler alert: yes they can? THEY ALWAYS CAN.
  • 200 years of american high school and teenagers still think that there is a cap limit on kids in detention and that you can leave after 15 minutes if the teacher doesn’t show up.

anyway, my senior year, we all got together and nattered at each other until some brave soldier (i feel like it was my friend paula but WHO KNOWS) was like “OK SENIOR SKIP DAY IS THIS THURSDAY!!!! NOBODY GO TO CLASS OR UR A SCAB.”

  • she didn’t say scab because she’s not from the 1920s and we aren’t newsies, though this story would be way more interesting if we were
  • what she said was “YOLO THEY CAN’T PUNISH ALL OF US!!!!!”
  • except not yolo because it was 2009 and drake hadn’t been invented yet except as a dear sweet boy in a wheelchair.

we also used this email system to communicate with one another that has very deeply informed the way i understand email and which probably makes it very frustrating to be my friend and receive emails that have subject lines like “URGENT” and then just 42 links to the same florida georgia line youtube video.

  • I’M NOT ASHAMED, but in that way where like i kind of AM ashamed so i’m really aggressively NOT ashamed?

so the day of reckoning rolls around and my alarm goes off at 8 (class started at 8:05 but i liked to PLAY WITH FIRE when it came to being late; my mom actually asked the school to stop emailing her when i was a sophomore because i was late so often that their rote “Mrs. Ofgeography we are emailing you to say—” was CLOGGING UP HER INBOX and she was like “i GET IT MY CHILD IS THE MOST BORING MISCREANT OF ALL TIME.”) and i looked at my roommate elle and she looked at me and went, “you going?”

“hell no,” i said. “YOLO. they can’t punish all of us.”

elle, who was far prettier and far cooler than i was with the notable exception of her obsession with tswift’s “love story” and her tendency to look at the endangered species list and cry sometimes during study hall, quickly bizounced across the street to this shopping center thing where all the cool kids smoked in secret where huge trucks dropped off clothes for the Dress Barn. i think there were also tennis courts nearby. more importantly there was this chinese food delivery place and a lil restaurant that made HELLA BAGELS.

  • WHAT KIND OF BAGELS?
  • FUCKIN
  • HELLA.

off goes elle! meanwhile i’m like, “yessssss i’m gonna use senior skip day to watch 14 hours of tv shows and eat frozen peanut butter bars that i stole from the dining hall! I’M GONNA LIVE LIKE I’M 23 ALONE IN CHICAGO ON A WEEKEND WHEN MY ONLY PLAN IS TAKEOUT AND CUDDLING WITH THE FAUX-SNOW-LEOPARD BLANKET I WILL ONE DAY SURELY OWN.”

of course, during this time the administration was continuing to send out emails that reminded us with increasing urgency that senior skip day was NOT A THING and that we were ALL GETTING RESTRICTION if we didn’t get our STUPID ASSES TO CLASS, GODDAMNIT, WE ARE NOT RUNNING A CIRCUS HERE.

but i was like! yolo, motherfuckers!!! i already got into college, YOU CAN’T TOUCH ME.

at some point during the day elle and our friend ginna came back to the room with takeout from the chinese delivery place and we sat on our floor eating it and probably watching veronica mars or looking at the endangered species list and crying.

all of a sudden, elle said, “guys shut up, guys shut up, GUYS SHUT UP,” and ginna and i were like, “WHAT we have a LOT to SAY about FRIED FUCKING DUMPLINGS, ELLE,“ and elle said, "did you hear that?”

“hear what?”

that!”

‘that’ was the sound of one of our dorm moms, mrs. f, knocking on doors and saying things like, “IF YOU DON’T GET YOUR BUTTS TO CLASS IN 5 MINUTES YOU’RE ON CATEGORY 4 RESTRICTION FOREVER.” elle quickly scampered up our raised beds to hide in the corner, where a tiny human like elle could actually hide from view; i leapt immediately into what we called a closet but was basically a cubby with a flap that was DEFINITELY not meant for a 5'8” individual with knobby as hell knees.

our door, which was never locked because we both hated the effort of typing in the lock code, opened. mrs. f said, “mollyhall?”

i held my breath.

  • i should add here that i seemed to be operating on like a scooby-doo level of logic where basically i thought that she was somehow NOT ALLOWED to investigate?
  • like, if she can’t see me, there is NO POSSIBLE WAY that she could prove i’m in here, right?
  • she’ll just poke her head in and be like oH GOSH NO KIDS HERE and leave!!

you can see the flaw in my logic.

mrs. f sighed. “mollyhall, i know you’re in here, i literally heard your voice ten seconds ago.”

  • there’s no WAY she guesses i’m in the closet!!!

“mollyhall, i know you’re in the closet.”

  • NO YOU DON’T
  • I AM SCHRÖDINGER’S SENIOR

“mollyhall—”

there was a creak. mrs. f stopped. it wasn’t actually a “creak,” so much as this like, prolonged groan? like it’s the sound an elephant would make if it sat on a really large accordion.

i poked my head out of the closet. mrs. f looked at me. elle sat up.

i said, “where’s ginna?”

  • YOU KNOW WHERE GINNA WAS.

“um,” said elle, “she’s in the—”

  • GINNA NO

ginna yes.

i really wish i could describe the sound the ceiling made when it collapsed. it sounded a lot like the way losing your breath feels. i sort of remember ginna falling in like, really slow motion, like i could see the expression on her face. i didn’t really think about how i would describe this in words. ginna’s face said:

  • oh no.
  • what have i done?
  • this was a mistake.
  • i regret a series of decisions that i have made.
  • is there a way out of this?
  • are those oreos under mollyhall’s pillow?
  • why are there oreos under mollyhall’s pillow?
  • mollyhall, you HAVE a food cupboard, what good is a food cupboard if you don’t—
  • oh, crap.

she belly flopped onto the floor. i mean, the girl bounced. and then she just laid there. mrs. f looked at her. elle looked at her. i looked at her, still mostly in the closet. we were all going to get category 4 restriction forever.

ginna said, “hi, mrs. f. i feel like i should explain.”

Detention

“Lightwood?”

Alec snapped out of his thoughts as the teacher called his name. Panicking Alec skimmed the page in front of him, looking for an answer. Then he realized he didn’t even know what the question was.

“I…uh” Seeing his panic Magnus who sat besides him whispered the answer under his breath loud enough for Alec to hear.

“217!” Alec yelled the answer as Magnus gave him a glare.

“Yes, Mr. Lightwood you don’t have to yell it.” The teacher glared at Alec while Magnus shot him a ‘wtf’ look.

Cowering, Alec mumbled a sorry as he looked down at his table.

Sighing besides him Magnus shook his head at his classmate’s stupidity.

Drawing the last lines on his drawing, Alec scratched his head as he looked the drawing over. It didn’t look quite right.

A poke in his side caught Alec’s attention. Meeting Magnus’ eyes he realized that once again he had failed at paying attention.

Looking between the teacher who had crossed her arms waiting annoyed for Alec to answer to Magnus who desperately tried to point at the book in front of him without attracting the teachers attention.

The problem was that he hadn’t even opened his book.

“Uh…”

“Mr. Bane what do you think you are doing?” Stopping wide eyed, Magnus met the teacher’s angry gaze as he realized they had been caught.

“Detention! Both of you.” Both of the boys dropped their heads on the table groaning simultaneously.

Great. Just great. Alec thought while meeting Magnus’ eyes. At least they were together

Talks Machina Highlights (Episodes 92 & 93)
  • Denise message: “With every breath the world takes my power increases.”
  • Asked which of her episodes was the most intense, Noelle: “Well, the first one, I was on the edge of my seat a lot wondering when they were gonna stop shopping…”
  • Everyone admits that episode 93 should’ve been the most intense episode yet, but they were all so ignorant of the potential consequences that it didn’t really sink in until afterwards.
  • Noelle talks about a really fun D&D campaign she had where everybody played teenagers in high school (she was a tiefling warlock). She wanted something different than the high-charisma, low-strength build she’d had there, so when Matt suggested the blood hunter class, she was 100% on board. “I like my D&D characters extra.”
  • Sam agrees with a question-asker that Taryon is mostly just emulating what he thinks brave people ought to do; it remains to be seen whether or not he’s actually brave.
  • Liam as a player was freaking out over how close the campaign came to ending, but in-character, Vax is pretty convinced they’re all destined to get to the end of the road at this point and that there’s a bigger plan in play.
  • Travis and Sam both expected the Nine Hells to be worse than they were. Sam: “I think you build up hell in your mind…”
  • Tova would totally have turned Grog into a werebear if he’d asked.
  • A question-asker points out that Trinket wound up lasting years longer than Doty. Sam: “…yes, there’s something inherently wrong with that. […] You know what? Matt’s game is broken.” Brian: “Doty vs. Trinket: The end of Critical Role.” (Laura immediately tweets in outrage.)
  • Someone asks if Vax was disappointed that he didn’t get the killing blow on Hotis, and Liam points out that the only kill that had any emotional meaning for Vax personally was Thordak–other than that, it’s all about the team.
  • At one point, Tova was down to 15 HP. Travis: “We’re not very good at tracking how low everybody gets.” Noelle: “…no. No, you’re not.”
  • Sam, summing up an extended D&D legal discussion: “I’m not sure that contract would’ve been legal in the state of California.”
  • Losing Doty hasn’t sunk in yet for Taryon. “Doty is a big brother, a mom, a little brother…”
  • New episode of All Work No Play (Sam and Liam’s podcast) is going up tomorrow! Sam: “It’s really not our best episode.” Liam: “That’s ludicrous, it’s the best.”
  • Tova’s friends all had names and a bit of connection pre-built with Tova’s backstory.
  • Vax thinks Tary has potential but lacks confidence. Grog, in the middle of the fight, kept seeing him huddled in a ball casting Sanctuary and thinking “…fucking Tary.”
  • Travis: “Especially now that you don’t have a nanny anymore, Grog’s gonna have to step in and take that role.” Sam: “Honestly, I’m not even sure Taryon can put on his own armor.”
  • Noelle felt like it was a necessary character choice for Tova to stay behind, and also thinks that she’s so driven that a lot of hell’s torture wouldn’t really sink in as long as she still had a sense of duty and purpose. The biggest thing that would be an impediment to her survival would be finding out that her friends had been killed. Wanting to return Vax’s ring would also be a driving force that could keep her going.
  • Vax worked for the Clasp for a while and got into the attitude of doing jobs without fully understanding why, so he’s not too worried about tracking down the anonymous person who requested the rakshasa parts at the Slayer’s Take–as far as he’s concerned, it’s over.
  • Everyone talks about how right up-his-alley the contract is for Percy. Brian: “If Taliesin summoned an army of the damned in real life, that would be the least surprising thing Taliesin has ever done.”
  • Liam: “The lawyer on the other side might argue that [Doty] is less of a party member and more of a Zune.” Sam: “Shut your mouth! He is not a Zune. He’s a Palm Pilot or better.”
  • Noelle: “I think things went pretty well. I killed a pit fiend, I turned into an invisible bear, I airplaned Vax around.” Brian: “You pushed Keyleth out a window.” Noelle: “I did do that.”
  • ASHLEY JOHNSON RETURNS ON THURSDAY
  • Sam on Doty: “I’m unreasonably attached to that robot, he’s pretty great. He’s a cutie.”
  • Travis suggests that Grog could take over writing Tary’s exploits, since he knows two letters now.
  • Liam has no expectations for what’s going to happen in the next episode. No idea what’s gonna happen. Sam points out that there aren’t a lot of loose ends anymore.
  • Travis: “I kept asking how my stomach was feeling, to Matt, as one does in a D&D game. If I shit an imp, we’ll know.”

Talks Machine in the Dark:

  • Travis mentions the K’varn fight as the first time he really felt like things were getting terribly out-of-hand. Liam and Sam both mention getting stuck inside the dragon.
  • Noelle, as a writer, likes the narrative ambiguity of Schrodinger’s Tova and thought that, either way, it was a cool way to go out.
  • My new favorite question: “Does Grog know Minxie is Keyleth?” Travis has to answer that, unfortunately, Grog is fully aware that they’re the same because he was the one who named her back in the home game.
  • Liam thinks the only option if Keyleth had failed that roll would be for Percy to invoke the contract. Travis also brings up the Deck.
  • Noelle tells amazing stories about the graphic novel bible she had growing up. “I’m pretty sure Jezebel isn’t supposed to be your favorite character in the bible, but she had amazing eyeshadow…”
  • Liam tells Travis that next campaign, they’re gonna have to be the note-takers to pay Marisha back for this one. Travis: “I’m gonna have to learn how to write.”
  • Vax will finally stop wearing the armor all the time now that Hotis is out of the picture. “Don’t need to worry about Mercer shanking me in my most intimate moments.”
Boyfriend Tag - Jeff Atkins

Request: Reader is a youtuber who is doing the boyfriend tag with her boyfriend, Jeff, when he decides to pop the question

A/N: The reader is in BOLD || Jeff is in Italics || They were friends for 2 years and have been dating for the last 5, just for clarification.

“Hey guys, it’s (y/n) and today I’m doing the boyfriend tag with my boyfriend, Jeff!”

“I’m very nervous for this.” Jeff said, letting out a chuckle.

“You shouldn’t be, the questions are fairly simple. Okay, so I have a list of the questions on my phone. There’s 30 questions but we aren’t doing all of them. We’re only doing 17, since we’ve known each other since we were 17.”

“Alright, so you’re going to read a few and then I’ll read a few?”

“Yep! Besides some of them are for me and some of them are for you.”

“What’s the first question?”

“First question is…when and where did we meet?”

“Oh, that’s easy. We met the beginning freshman year in high school in biology class.” You smiled at the fact that he remembered. The last 7 years with him had been magical and scary, but you had never been happier with anyone else.

“Wow, I’m impressed you remembered the class. Nicely done.” Jeff smiled, looking down at his hands. You were lucky. “Okay, next one. When and where was our first kiss?”

“We had our first kiss after we won the championship game for baseball. I think it was the end of junior year.”

“I remember that day like it was yesterday. You hit the home run that made you guys win. You and two other guys scored.” You tell him, kissing him quickly. “Question three: When did you meet my parents?”

“I met your parents right after we started dating junior year. Your mom loved me and your dad talked to me about baseball.”

“I met your parents at the championship game actually. That’s when you told them we were dating.” You looked up into his crystal blue eyes, grinning at him. You considered yourself lucky that he survived his accident during his senior year, you never took anything for granted ever, but you really made sure to be grateful everyday. “Question number four: what is the first thing I do in the morning?”

“You roll away from the window and pull all the blankets with you.” You laugh, slapping his arm playfully. “But if we’re being serious, she usually gets out of bed and makes coffee.”

“When the alarm goes off, you groan and roll over. Once you actually get up, you make breakfast while I pour you coffee.”

“I don’t want to sound cocky, but I do make pretty good waffles.”

“That’s so true. They could be chocolate chip, banana, blueberry, and they all taste amazing!”

“Time for question number five. Who is my BFF?”  You couldn’t help to burst out into laughter. “What’s so funny?”

“You sounded like a girl.” Explaining it to him made you laugh even more.

“Okay, let me rephrase the question. Who is my best friend that isn’t you?”

“Probably Clay. He tutored you in high school, he helped you get me. I think you guys have a lot of history together. What about me?”

“I think Hannah. She was there for you the entire time I was in the hospital after my accident. She was there when I couldn’t be. I think that that’s an important quality in a friend.”

“Aw, Jeff you’re not supposed to make me cry.” He looked down at you as you looked up at him. His arm wrapped around you tightly, pulling you into his side before he gently kisses the top of your head. The questions continued for several minutes and consisted of very different questions like your favorite animal or his favorite food. Eventually you reached the 16th question. “Okay, question number sixteen. Complete this sentence: My girlfriend is __________”

“My girlfriend is…my everything.” You grab his hand and intertwine his fingers with yours.

“My boyfriend is…the one person who completely understands me.” Jeff looks down at your hand and squeezes it lightly.

“I’m making up the last question. I promise it’ll be a good one.”

“Go ahead, Atkins. I trust you.”

“Okay,” He stood up before getting on one knee, pulling the ring from his back pocket of his jeans. “My question is…will you marry me?”

Hi Amy, I'm a high school student who wants to major in art history. I know that a large part of history in general is asking questions, however I'm unsure about how to ask better questions, would you give some suggestions and examples of higher level questions to ask about an art work? P.S. you blog is amazing and thank you for all the resources!

Wow, what a great question! Some of my college students don’t ask how they can ask better questions, so I was so excited when I saw that you are a high school student thinking ahead. Thank you!

I assume you are taking art history at your high school. This is good - your class has already given you the framework you need to move from basic questioning to more in depth questioning. Who? What? Where? When? Why? How? You would think that with art history, the Five Ws + How? would be simple enough to answer. This is not always the case, however, and sometimes the simple questions of Who? or How? or Where? can take an art historian years to answer. A good example of this is attribution: who made a work of art? It sounds like an easy question, but as someone who has shed blood, sweat, and tears on attribution, I can tell you it isn’t. The same is true of iconography (’what’?). On the surface, subject matter shouldn’t be hard to identify or propose, but it can be.  All this to say that if you are worried that asking some of these questions is too basic, you shouldn’t be - you will undoubtedly keep asking them as an art history major, and the answers will not always be easy (or even possible) to find.

Asking (sometimes deceptively) basic questions is all well and good, but how can you ask more in-depth questions about works that are already the subject of lengthy discourse, like the Mona Lisa or the Sistine Chapel? This is, essentially, the writer’s question. To arrive at a probing question, you may want to:

Practice slow looking. Slow looking is exactly what it sounds like - sitting in front of a work of art and taking time to really look at it. This will be hard to do during a class session, but you can do this after class (or beforehand, if you know the period or artist being covered). As part of the slow looking exercise, write down your initial response to the work, and note throughout your time looking how your initial response has evolved and why.

Question a work of art’s formal elements. Think about color, line, texture, light, shadow, space, perspective, volume… Why do you think the artist made the decisions s/he did? Here is a list of formal analysis questions to get you started. If you email me,  amy [at] caravaggista [dot] com, I can send you the “Questions Sheet” I give to my students.

Ask yourself what ascribes meaning to a work. In a similar vein, you can consider why a work of art is being discussed in class (in other words, why it has been deemed important). Is it the subject matter? The composition? The work’s cultural or historical context? The fame of the artist? The expense of materials used? All of the above, and more? Why or why not?

Look at a work of art using a particular methodology. Art historians use lots of different methods to analyze works of art. If you haven’t yet learned about art theory or methods, consider picking up a copy of Michael Hatt and Charlotte Klonk’s Art History: A critical introduction to its methods (Manchester University Press, 2006). The authors examine the origins of art history as a discipline and explain each major method in practice, from formalism to semiotics (and more!). Examining a work of art using a particular framework can yield surprising and inspiring results!

Read about a work of art you are having a hard time formulating questions for. Specifically, read art historical articles about the work and consider the author’s argument. Do you agree with their analysis? Why or why not? Is there an aspect of the work or its context that you think should be more fully addressed (or considered, in the first place)? What evidence does the author use to support their analysis?

This is by no means an exhaustive list of ways to ask better questions, but I hope it helps get you started!  There are no bad questions; all questions help deepen your understanding and analysis.

I’m going to include a break here. After the break, you’ll find recommended reading and resources.

Disabled People and Being Infantilized

“What do you say?” “Say hi to———–” and my name said in a patronizing manner for doing something typical of my age group. I had an adult monitoring my every move for 6 hours every day during the week. One of  the times I hated most in high school was a very, unlikely one. Lunch time. If you get a bunch of teenagers in one room, a lot of chaos happens. At my high school, it did. For everybody else. I was forced to sit at the table behind the Special Ed table where my aid could keep an eye on me. I was 17, not 3. It still angers me to this day that my best friend  couldn’t throw my lunch out for me without my  aid prompting me thank her.  Now we laugh about it, but back then it sparked embarrassment and anger within me. Every social interaction I had was monitored. It was so emotionally exhausting to float between well spoken academic during classes to socially excluded teen in between.  I experienced more ableism in school than I ever  thought was possible.  Just because  my legs do not function properly doesn’t mean my mind is effected.  If I didn’t want to say hi to random people in passing, I shouldn’t have had to! I now realize my unwillingness to conform to their “social goals” was my introversion and not noncompliance like I’d been taught to think. All of these behaviors boil down to one thing and one thing only:

Disabled people being treated as younger than their chronological age IS WRONG AND NEEDS to stop. Because of these behaviors I missed out greatly on being a teen and will never forget that. i will not stand for teens to be babied any longer. NO disabled person should be babied unless they ARE, indeed a baby.

About a year or so ago one of my friends in a computer class I took in my senior year of high school asked me if I could make an edit/edits where Wirt’s cloak is made of stars/galaxies.

I finally got around to making them just now, and here they are!

"So what now?"

My first request: @16reasonswhy16q7w said;
But hey ima request, can you do an imagine where clay is in love with you but feels like it’s wrong because of everything that happened with Hannah and her being gone but he is really falling for the reader so he gives in

Also while I was at school someone threatened to shoot up local high schools and I could’ve died so yeah…

•••

Clay mindlessly exchanged books from his locker according to the classes he had left. Honestly, he was just killing time. What Clay was really doing was waiting for a certain h/c haired girl.

Clay heard the familiar voice of y/n; she was still at her locker (three lockers down from Hannah’s old locker) talking to one of her friends. Some feeling similar to guilt filled his stomach. He wasn’t sure why so he re-concentrated on his locker.

Then for a moment he thought he saw a brown haired girl in a white shirt. Hannah Baker. Clay closed his eye and shook his head, when he opened it Hannah was gone. He wasn’t sure which way he liked better; but he knew he liked y/n.

Like he’d ever tell anyone, especially her. After everything that happened… y/n closed her locker and she paused; y/n just stared at Hannah’s locker.

Clay mentally scolded himself…y/n was well known here. At first she was just one of Hannah’s friends that he was too shy to talk to; now the whole school knew her as the girl who had the breakdown after Hannah.

“Hey y/n,” Clay said before even giving himself a chance to decide if he was going to approach her.

Y/n smiled slightly, but it wasn’t the kind he liked. Clay remembered her genuine smiles, the kind that went to her eyes. This smile was a practiced polite smile, one that showed she was closed off.

“Hi Clay,” she replied. Clay didn’t know what to say and he wished he had prepared better. He didn’t know why he felt so awkward, he knew y/n she was a friend. She seemed extra annoyed this morning. “What’s wrong?”

Y/n let out a sigh. “My parents are a little paranoid since I haven’t been going out since…the point is I haven’t gone on dates or parties or anything.” She sighed once again, “my mom’s considering forcing me into joining a painful agony that is emotional therapy.”

Clay wasn’t sure if this was a sign or if this was fate being taunting. “We could hand out this weekend.” Y/n paused raising an eyebrow. “I-I mean to get your parents off your case so you don’t have to go to that.”

Y/n contemplated his offer. “I accept to these terms and conditions,” she responded in a kidding tone.

“Alright,” Clay said trying to sound much more relaxed than he felt. “I should get to class but I’ll text you for a day.”

As Clay started to turn away y/n responded. “You do realize you need my number to text me, right?”

For the first time, y/n felt like she looked forward to something. There always was this guilt for what happened; if she had called more maybe Hannah would still be her.

Clay listened. Listened to the tape.

*** (this is Hannah’s voice in the tape)***

Y/n l/n, where to start with this one. Don’t worry, she isn’t a–not like the others. But she deserves to have a testimony.

Y/n with the h/c hair, the girl always reminded me of hot chocolate. She in herself could solve someone’s problem the same way hot chocolate could.

We were allies long before we were friends. Then one day she showed up, showed up with this expression. Anger, sadness, and fear rolled into one. The expression didn’t fit her. She was too pretty to look so sad.

We were at the lockers and I asked her what’s the matter and I swear she almost told me. But instead she snapped and told me to leave her alone. She broke down though…the way hot chocolate ended was the same way she snapped. It was the greatest falling out.

***

Clay knew better than to bring this up. All he did was wait for Saturday.

***

Eventually the day came and y/n wore her grey t-shirt and light blue ripped jeans. She didn’t know what to expect but her mother was happy; and that was one less thing to feel bad about.

Y/n met up with Clay at the park. It was weird for her to be here again. She felt these butterflies…did she like Clay? That’s ridiculous, then Clay’s hand brushed her hand. The butterflies got stronger–yep, she liked him. Maybe even something more.

Clay couldn’t, and that’s why he wanted to so badly. After the whole Hannah incident any feelings like that toward anyone were terrible. Then she smiled, that specific breath stealing smile. He couldn’t stop himself before he took y/n’s hand.

“I know you’ve got complications,” he muttered.

Y/n froze, “I-I.”

“Don’t worry, it’s not like that. I just know you and Hannah had a falling out.” The phrase ‘falling out’ made y/n flinch. “A-are you okay?”

Y/n shivered slightly and shook her head. “Y-yeah, just a bit cold.”

Clay handed her his jacket and y/n took it but gave him a confused expression. “Well you said you were cold.”

“Thanks,” y/n said.

“Look I don’t care what happened or what you did or didn’t do…I-I like you a lot.” His admission made her freeze. “Just forget it.”

When y/n’s shock died down she asked a question. “What if I don’t want to forget it?”

Clay gave a small, sarcastic smile. “Are you saying you like me?”

Y/n would never admit that. “I’m not saying I’m not saying that.”

Her expression made him laugh. “I like you a lot, y/n l/n.”

“I like you a lot too, Clay Jensen.” Y/n replied.

Bye the time she realized that she had admitted it was too late.“

“You said it,” Clay teased!

Y/n defended herself, “shut up.”

Clay smiled and once again before he knew what he was doing he did it. He leaned in and kissed y/n. For a moment he didn’t care about anything or everything that had happened or could happen. All he cared about was that he was with y/n.

Y/n pulled away first. “I like you too.”

“So, what now?”

Y/n took his hand. “So, what now indeed.”

I hoped you liked this :)) also I’m willing to do a prologue or part 2 just let me know!

In PE during my freshmen year in high school, I cut my hand open and told my teacher I had to go to the health office. Well there was a senior goth girl who failed PE so many times that she just stood by the teacher in her normal cloths, so my teacher asked her to escort me to the nurse. Well instead of taking me to the nurse, she took me into the bathroom where she met another goth girl and straight up just started piercing this girls lip with a wire she stole from art class.

Anything for You//Stiles Stilinski & Pack

Hey, I was wondering if I could get an imagine… Recently I’ve been feeling really down, and one thing that helped me a lot was your imagines so… Can I request one, where the reader is feeling very down so all the pack (Scott, Lydia, Allison, Isaac, and Stiles) are trying to help her feel better? Something cute and funny, but something special with Stiles (since he’s my favorite character ever) It would make my day! Thanks for all your hard work, I love you 💕

Y/N POV

Today has sucked. Actually, all week’s kinda sucked. I made my way down the busy high school hallway, finding my last class and plopped down in my desk. Stiles came in like the ball of energy he is, as he sat beside me.

“What’s wrong Y/N?” he asked with concern.

“Nothing, just tired” I replied. It wasn’t technically a lie, I was tired, but after the crappy week I had been having, I just want to go home and sleep the whole weekend. The only thing I can focus on is my yearning to leave. The noises and bustling of students just made the day worse. The bell rang and I was up and out of my seat as fast as possible.

I didn’t look back as I heard the sound of my friends call my name from the corridor. I rushed to my car and sped all the way home. As soon as I got there, I dropped all my stuff in my room and headed for the bathroom. Maybe a hot shower will help wash away the week.

Stiles’ POV

Y/N hasn’t been acting right all week and I am determined to fix it. I met up with the rest of the pack after school so we could come up with a plan.

“Look guys, something’s up with Y/N” I began

“Yeah, Y/N’s been really distant lately” Allison said

“She doesn’t answer any of my texts either, we should do something nice for them” Lydia added.

“Alright, I’ve got an idea.. Here’s the plan” I explained.

Y/N POV

As I stepped out of the shower, I heard my phone ding from the other room. I saw Lydia’s name flash across the screen with a text that said “Pack meeting at Stiles’ house ASAP”. My heart sped up at the urgency of her text, but at least it didn’t say hospital.

I pulled on a pair of jeans, threw on a sweatshirt and my vans before heading out the door. This isn’t what I wanted to do with my Friday night.. I was planning to curl up and watch Netflix all night to block out my problems but unfortunately that didn’t go as planned. I pulled up to Stiles’ house, seeing everyone else’s cars here, I must be the last one to arrive.

I take a deep breath as I prepare myself to go inside. I loved my friends, don’t get me wrong, but the last thing I want to do when I feel like this is sit through hours of a pack meeting. I compose myself enough to look halfway decent as I walked up to the door, letting myself in.

I looked around the Stilinksi living room and what I see makes me smile. Allison and Lydia were setting out tons of fuzzy blankets, Scott and Isaac came out from the kitchen with tons of snacks and Stiles was shuffling through movies.

“Surprise!” They yelled, when they finally saw me.

“This doesn’t look like a pack meeting” I said in surprise, a small giggle leaving my mouth.

“We noticed you’ve been a little down lately and we wanted to help” Allison smiled.

“Who’s idea was this?” I laugh, “I love it”.

“All Stiles’ idea” Scott said with a smirk. I looked over to the blushing Stiles and made my way over to give him a hug.

“Thank you” I whispered into his ear “I really needed this”.

“Anything for you” he replied, his eyes locked on mine.

Our moment broke as Isaac burst in with “Let’s get this party started!’. We all ate pizza until we couldn’t eat anymore. The rest of the night continued with lots of snuggling (especially next to Stiles) as we watched my favorite movie. As the night came to a close, I stayed back to help Stiles clean up. When we were finished, he walked me to the door and stopped.

“Thank you again Stiles, you always know how to cheer me up” I said. Our eyes locked once again as I saw his eyes glance down at my lips, then back up at me. His hand came to cheek as our lips met. We stood there for what seemed like forever before breaking apart.

“Anything for you”.

Writer’s Note: Thank you for the request anon, I hope you love it! Requests are open. -M

In junior-high my school had a fight club in the boys locker room. They had a schedule for fights and everything, everyone took part and all of the fights where against kids of similar heights, weights, etc. it was really well thought out and lasted long enough for everyone in our class to fight at least once. The gym teacher only bothered to check on the commotion once, and when he did a couple of kids held the door shut until the fight was over and he didn't really care anyway.
