Accurate Flight Descriptions

Shadow – highschoolers who were always the class clown and still don’t take life seriously. Still don’t get what AP stands for by senior year.

Arcane – highschoolers who always daydreamed in class, just woke up 5 years older wearing the same clothes they wore in highschool and involved in the same highschool drama

Wind – college art students smiling all the time when in reality they have no money for art school

Plague – highschool trolls who do everything for the lulz. Intimately connected to the hashtag #tfwngf

Lightning – college computer science majors who never come to class, except for tests. Always in a panic. Always late. In their pajamas. And drinking a doubleshot energy drink.

Ice – unemployed college grads whose only wealth are netflix subscriptions, cats, and an overbearing babyboomer parent

Nature – college drop-out park volunteers who hate people but love animals. Claim animals are “good and pure” despite holding a screaming animal.

Light – college theater majors who take everything seriously and never actually stop acting. Gets super into villain roles but gets mad when people hate them.

Water – junior college students everyone assumes are still in highschool. Doesn’t remember graduating high school. Still undecided major.

Fire – that group in highschool who always sat in the corner making innuendos at everything that came out the teacher’s mouth. “That’s what she said.” Vehement about no kink-shaming.

Earth – college teacher’s assistant genXers who don’t know how to teach or assist professors instructing millenials. Still use their textbooks from the 80s.
'Power Rangers' Director Explains Why Romantic Scene Didn't Make Final Cut
Love was in the air for a pair of Power Rangers — until test audiences said no.

They cut a heterosexual romance because it didn’t fit the story, and because including it did a disservice to the female character’s individual narrative arc.

sorry but your faves literally would never

All the shit that happens on this blog and people announcing their dislike for skin submissions is what you guys decide to go all censorship-crazy and literally tell people to kill or purposely injure themselves over? Because god forbid anyone say anything you disagree with on a DRAMA blog. Nooo, that would be a crime. We need to shield our poor sensitive eyes from opinions that contradict ours. Out of all possible crimes, not liking someone’s art and saying so is the worst by far.

Not the scammers, not the spammers, not even the botters or racists are bad enough to deserve the “Entire comments section full of people telling them to kill themselves/eat a cactus/shove their head in an oven/ect” sentence, no, that’s reserved only for the worst offenders of all. (Seriously though, look back over the last couple page’s comments. The people saying bad things about art and ONLY them have comments sections full of death/injury threats and similar)

Grow the fuck up, there’s plenty of things far more deserving of censorship and “kill yourself” than people who think shitty skin submissions are funny and/or just bad (Which i do not, by the way, but this site’s increasingly hostile attitude towards ANY kind of art criticism even in cases where it’s not just an obvious troll disgusts me endlessly). If you didn’t want to see that sort of thing, you shouldn’t have come here. PEOPLE ARE ALLOWED TO DISLIKE ART AND SAY THAT THEY DISLIKE IT AND NOT BE INHERENTLY WRONG/EVIL/DESERVING OF DEATH FOR IT

  • random person: *compares Donald Trump to Voldemort*
  • me: YESSSSS.
  • my thoughts: Except he's not a Slytherin -- he's impulsive, rash, hot-tempered, and puts a lot of value on his public image and how people see he shows no resourcefulness, self-preservation, or loyalty to his inner-circle, since he had multiple divorces and only seems focused on himself. So basically he's an evil Gryffindor! ...Wait. What about Hillary? SHE shows resourcefulness, cleverness, and loyalty to her inner she is methodical in her decision-making, can be incredibly flexible, and will kiss up to people to get her way. And of course she was vilified by people who mistook her cleverness for deviousness--OH MY GOD, HILLARY IS A GOOD SLYTHERIN HOLY COW.
Why are all my fandoms going crazy right now??

- Skam is freaking out (with good reason) about rumors about the American adaptation, and still in general chaos because of the end of the show and season 4

- Voltron’s about to get a new season and its incessant ship wars are still going

- Malec is broken up in the show (and I don’t even watch shadowhunters, I just liked the books! Seriously it’s like secondhand fandom stress here)

- Supergirl and CW in general are getting all kinds of new content about some crossover thing that’s happening in like two months, which of course fires up all the karamel shippers vs. anti drama

- Chaol’s book is coming out in SJM land, and people are either excited for their fave or (like me) even more stressed about TOG 7

- Carry On is doing fine but that’s like the miracle fandom anyway… seriously there’s like never any drama? I love it so much

- Doctor Who!!! Need I say more? (I’m so flipping excited!!!!!!!)

- In a Heartbeat was released, and it didn’t! let everyone down (go watch it seriously!!)

I’m probably forgetting a million things but like… I can’t handle this right now seriously

EDIT: How could I forget Yuri On Ice??? Like… I don’t really know what’s going on there anymore but I just really want another season
Kichijoji Dake ga Sumitai machi desu ka?

So I found a really awesome manga today???

It’s called “Kichijoji dake ga sumitai machi desu ka?” or, roughly, “The only town you want to live in is Kichijoji?” and is by Maki Hirochi

It’s about two sisters who work do real estate in Kichijoji, Tokyo

They’re both fat girls, but as far as I can tell so far, they aren’t fetishized or are the butt of a joke???

They’re both super cute, and drawn proportionally and realistically, seriously I can’t think of the last time I saw a manga with fat girls as the main characters/protagonists, or if I EVER have period.

Also the stories are all just really sweet, it’s basically just the sisters helping people who come to their real-estate agency find the perfect home, like, it’s really cute and sweet and good?

Also it has a live-action drama going on rn which is super exciting!

Basically, I don’t know if this story will get more popular or if the manga will get an English translation, but I was just super hyped about this and wanted to share ~ <3

Star Trek: Discovery to ditch a long frustrating Trek rule

Star Trek: Discovery is shedding a creative restriction that’s long frustrated top writers on previous shows in the franchise.

Showrunners Aaron Harberts and Gretchen J. Berg — working from a creative roadmap laid out by executive producer Bryan Fuller — are delivering a Trek saga that gets rid of one the franchise’s decades-old limitations in an effort to evolve the series.

As part of Trek creator Gene Roddenberry’s utopian vision of the future (and one that Trek franchise executive producer Rick Berman carried on after Roddenberry’s death in 1991), writers on Trek shows were urged to avoid having Starfleet crew members in significant conflict with one another (unless a crew member is, say, possessed by an alien force), or from being shown in any seriously negative way.

This guideline wasn’t strictly followed across all 700 previous franchise episodes, of course (there are especially some notable exceptions in The Original Series). But in an aspirational effort to make the future more idyllic, Starfleet crew members typically weren’t supposed to demonstrate baser human flaws. For writers on Trek shows, the restriction has been a point of behind-the-scenes contention (one TNG and Voyager writer, Michael Piller, famously dubbed it “Roddenberry’s Box”). Drama is conflict, after all, and if all the conflict stems from non-Starfleet members on a show whose regular cast consists almost entirely of Starfleet officers, it hugely limits the types of stories that can be told.

So for the CBS All Access series coming Sept. 24, that restriction has been lifted and the writers are allowed to tell types of stories that were discouraged for decades.

“We’re trying to do stories that are complicated, with characters with strong points of view and strong passions,” Harberts said. “People have to make mistakes — mistakes are still going to be made in the future. We’re still going to argue in the future.”

“The rules of Starfleet remain the same,” Berg added. “But while we’re human or alien in various ways, none of us are perfect.”

The handling of these inner-Starfleet conflicts will still draw inspiration from Roddenberry’s ideals, however. “The thing we’re taking from Roddenberry is how we solve those conflicts,” Harberts said. “So we do have our characters in conflict, we do have them struggling with each other, but it’s about how they find a solution and work through their problems.”

Another major change is the new series is heavily serialized, unlike all the previous iterations which mostly consisted of close-ended episodes (with occasional story arcs that were two or three episodes long, plus Deep Space Nine‘s more ambitious Dominion Wars arc, among other examples). Serialization likewise makes it very difficult to keep all conflict from external sources because Discovery isn’t telling a new destination-based adventure each week. When you create dramatic storylines among the crew that spans an entire season or more, there should be some real friction and not just have the crew sitting around cheerfully playing tri-dimensional chess whenever they’re not under direct attack.

There’s also the fact the last Trek series (Star Trek: Enterprise) went off the air 12 years ago and the TV drama storytelling has evolved to be more realistic since then — and so has sci-fi. A former Trek writer, Ron Moore (who, like Piller, was outspoken about Trek‘s limitations), conceived of his acclaimed 2004 Battlestar Galactica reboot as a way of telling the types of morally murky stories that Deep Space Nine and Voyager wouldn’t allow. Moore, Piller and Discovery‘s Fuller all worked on late 1990s Trek shows, collectively trying to push the format’s creative envelope in bold new ways. Mind you, Discovery isn’t nearly as dark as BSG — it’s very much Star Trek and Starfleet officers have still evolved in all respects from where we are now. As always, they’re admirable people you wish you knew in real life. But the show’s producers will have the freedom to depict a wider and more realistic bandwidth of human (and alien) drama.

everyones all “blarg bucket jokes are gonna come back hiveswap was a mistake” but like honestly??? here’s hoping the hiveswap fandom is just a dumb and cringey and creative and fun as the homestuck fandom, sans the discourse. Cringe culture is a lie, the only thing i care about is making sure no one gets hurt.

Guys, who even cares about the Arnie/Mia or Arnie/Maisie drama anymore? Maisie's got MFCBTO now. I admit I disliked Arnie when the drama was actually happening, but I mean MFCBTO is 100 times more fun.

this entire generation is based solely on bowling so idk why people are still trying to take me so seriously

What new vegas features do you miss the most in f4?

honestly? the writing. New Vegas had excellent writing, from the plot to the characters to just the dialogue options available to the courier. Having a voice is nice but with the limited dialogue you just can’t roleplay the same way you could in NV. Sole can only either be a bit of a dick, a totally nice guy or a smartass, while the courier can be anything from a complete moron, to an insufferable know-it-all, a smooth talker, a bit of a slut, a violent brute, a sarcastic douche, a by-the-book hero, a quiet badass and anything in between.

And while we’re on dialogue, I really miss the Skill Check dialogue system from NV. You either had the skill needed to get certain things (or just finish quests on an alternate path) or you didn’t, and it was always clear because you got a display that told you how high  of a skill you needed (like “Speech [25/30]). Most importantly, if you didn’t have the needed skill, the actual dialogue would change, giving a good reason why the NPC you were talking to would react differently than if you had said the right thing. Plus some of the failed dialogue checks were some of the funniest parts of the game.

In FO4, if you pass a speech check or not is determined entirely by chance. You can have a CHA stat of 10 and still fail. Then you reload, your character says the exact same thing in the exact same context to the same character at the same time AND NOW IT WORKS FOR SOME REASON. That’s annoying busywork and kind of breaks my immersion. They had the same thing in FO3 where your chance of  success in speech checks was given in percentages and I didn’t like it there either.

I also like that the courier’s backstory was kept relatively vague, so you could make up  your own story for your character. FO4 gives you a pre-baked background that is pretty lukewarm for my tastes and doesn’t leave much room to make up your own character interpretation (unless you do some hard retconning/headcanon action to get around that, but even then it’s not amazing).

But other than that, New Vegas generally just didn’t take itself as seriously as FO4. FO4 has all this big focus on how miserable everyone is and how shitty life in the wasteland is. There is so much drama with families being torn apart, everyone being afraid of the Institute, the Brotherhood stomping about the place, children dying of incurable diseases…it is all so dark and serious and miserable it gets exhausting after a while.

New Vegas has dark stuff too, with drug use, slavery, prostitution, bureaucratic fuckery costing lives, war crimes, lack of medical aid, lack of food and fresh water and power, economic inequality…i could go on. So it absolutely has serious and dark issues. I mean one of the companion characters mercy killed his pregnant wife to spare her the horrors of slavery for fuck’s sake.

But you know what it also has? Ghouls flying to the moon. A gang of grannies in pink dresses beating people to death with rolling pins. Cyberdogs. A big blue grandma who looks like hulk and wears a cute flower hat. A gang of elvis impersonators. at least two (2) robots who think they’re cowboys. People cosplaying ancient romans. A dude wearing a dog for a hat. A giant plastic dinosaur with a store inside that sells tiny plastic dinosaur souvenirs. A sexbot called “FISTO” that you can hire for yourself if you wish.

What I’m trying to say is, New Vegas had a lot of serious themes (I’d argue them being even portrayed better than in FO4 but that’s a matter of opinion). But at the same time it didn’t lose it’s sense of humor. This is a world where science can make people live 200 years, create super mutants by dipping people in green goo, and radiation is basically magic. It’s not super serious all the time or tragic. Might as well have some fun with it. Fallout has a long history of dark comedy after all.

FO4 kinda lost the humor aspect and maybe it’s personal preference, but I never liked media where everything is just sad and miserable all the time because you get kinda tired of it and desensitized after a while. I don’t hate it or anything, but it can never reach the same place in my heart fnv did ;-;

god sorry for the novel i could just talk about fnv all day

anonymous asked:

How would the RFA ( v and saeren) react to MC telling them she has to go back to America and they think the worst but MC sees them freaking out and she is like I'm going back to bring my dog !!

  • wha wha whAT
  • when MC tells him that they’ll head to America next week he just
  • WHAT
  • MC is so casual???
  • so calm??
  • he stutters and splutters and just can’t speak all around
  • MC sees his freakout and starts laughing
  • no joke he was so sad when MC said that
  • he genuinely thought MC would leave forever??
  • and MC’s like
    • “No, not like that! I need too bring my dog back, you know, the one I told you about?”
  • MC has to repeat themselves a couple of times for him and then he calms down a bunch
  • still though his poor little heart was about to die
  • like he depends on MC a bit too much sometimes so the thought of MC definitely leaving was like a shotgun wound to his heart smh

  • she’s drinking coffee and MC is next to her, it’s been a long evening and she’s so glad she gets to relax
    • “I forgot to tell you, but I’ll be returning to America next week.”
  • almost spits out her drink
  • chokes on it and starts coughing violently
  • did she hear right? did, did MC really say that??
  • did her relationship with MC mean so little to them that leaving overseas was so easy to do??
    • “Wh-what?!”
  • MC shakes their head and pats her in the back
  • oops maybe you should have been clearer huh MC
    • “Not like that! We had discussed bringing my dog here, remember? It’s that! I’m going for my dog!”
  • Jaehee understands quickly but she’s still coughing from all the coffee that went down her throat in shock
  • *pat pat pat* u ok jaehee?

  • number one drama queen
  • no seriously MC mentions it super casually, not a big deal
    • “So next week I’m heading back to my place in America, and-”
  • Zen’s phone almost falls out of his hand
  • he grabs MC’s shoulders and his eyes are wide
  • he starts talking super fast
  • MC knows that kinda talk is the way he talks when he’s stressed
  • he’s talking about how if MC needs to return, he understands that it’s inevitable, but he wants to try and maybe long distance-
    • Zen, could you let me finish talking?”
  • freezes
  • holding MC’s shoulders but his mouth is open and not talking
  • um
    • “I’m going for my dog, Zen. We literally talked about my dog yesterday.”
  • drops his arms and laughs at himself a bit
  • sighs too
  • you scared him, babe, please don’t scare him like that again

  • but why
  • he stands up the second MC says that
  • he can’t grasp why MC would need to return without telling him
  • money problem? it couldn’t be, because they have him
  • legal problem? he can fix that
  • did MC have a problem they never told him about?
  • MC can see how he’s literally breaking down into himself and intercepts quickly
    • “I’m going for my dog! The dog I showed you! You made me promise that the dog would not bother Elizabeth 3rd! Do you remember?”
  • and then he sits back down and clears his throat
  • oh
  • he clears his throat and plays it off
  • throws the conversation away from his reaction  and starts talking about how he’ll send guards with MC and safety and yada yada yada

  • MC never told him because they thought he knew??
  • they just, thought he knew?
  • so one day they’re just there, eating breakfast with him
    • “So next week when I’m going back home to America….”
  • almost falls off his chair
  • ????
  • when you what???
  • he almost cries internally because the thought is so soul-crushing
  • he can’t follow MC to America, he’d put them in danger
  • can MC go to America without being in danger due to him???
    • “Seven, chill! It’s just the dog! My dog!! The soon-to-be our dog!”
  • deep breaths as he comes back to life
  • laughing at himself while he puts his hand on the table to support himself
  • he almost died MC don’t do this to ya boy

The new Boruto ending breaks my heart! Like I’m happy that they’re going to animate Naruto Gaiden (IT WAS SO GOOD AND THE FEELS), but DANG SARADA DESERVES TO BE HAPPY! SasuSaku deserves to be happy with their daughter. Enough with the drama let this ship sail in calm waters, please. (But in all seriousness tho, the ending is so gorgeous and I’m excited to see how they’ll animate the story)

I’m petitioning for “Let the Uchihas be happy” because dang it, they deserve it.

Let Papasuke go home, but then I know that he’s away from home because of a very important and secret mission to protect Konoha and everyone in it, especially his family… BUT DANG IT! AHHH LET THIS MAN GO HOME TO HIS FAMILY

Actual things said to me by health care professionals while working as a healthcare professional

You can’t be in pain, you laughed at someone’s joke.

You were fine yesterday, you must be faking.

Migraines and asthma attacks are 100% preventable. You only get them because you want to cause drama.

During an asthma attack: I can hear you wheezing when you breathe. Stop being so dramatic.

About being incapacitated by a migraine: We handle our little headaches like adults here.

You need to stop it with the health problems. It worries people, and that disrupts their work flow.

Okay I get that we all love wayhaught but you all seriously need to chill the fuck out. Friday’s episode is gonna be dramatic and intense and stressful for most of us, but if the rest of the season is anything to go by, it will live up to our hopes and expectations.

Nicole isn’t going to die permanently. We know that Kat is in the rest of this season and Emily has already mentioned her being in season 3. So there you go. And if she dies temporarily??

THAT’S NOT THE FUCKING BYG TROPE YOU RIDICULOUS ASSHOLES. Temporarily killing off and bringing back what is essentially a main character is good drama if done right. It’s not the BYG trope because Nicole won’t be staying dead. If you can’t fucking handle a little bit of drama then I suggest you hold off on watching the eps, then binge watch when she comes back.

Stop calling Emily arrogant and inconsiderate for daring to give us realistic representation. Stop harassing the cast and fandom with your shouts of ‘toxic relationships’ or 'this is just like the 100’ or 'what do you expect from straight people?’. Because it’s not relevant. If you can’t trust this show then you can’t trust any show, and if you can’t trust any show then maybe just wait to watch until you know the outcome. But until you sort that shit out, please stop yelling about things that don’t apply here.

If the end of the season rolls around and Nicole is still dead?? THEN you jerks can start complaining. But not a moment sooner.
