Billboard: Niall Horan Braces for Stardom Outside One Direction, With Advice From Justin Bieber & The Eagles
When Niall Horan decided to move from London to Los Angeles in early 2016, it’s no surprise that he chose a house in Laurel Canyon, the epicenter of ’60s folk-rock culture. Horan was the one toting a guitar in One Direction, the British boy-band juggernaut that was just then going on a hiatus, and he’s got the soul of a singer-songwriter: He’s charismatic, witty and sensitive, but also easygoing and no-nonsense. Viewed alongside his bandmates – born rock star Harry Styles, “sensible one” Liam Payne, “funny one” Louis Tomlinson, moody R&B prince Zayn Malik – Horan, 23, is sort of like the middle brother: the most approachably handsome, the second-most popular across social media (29 million Twitter followers; 19 million on Instagram) and the most likely to lust after a gig at the historic Los Angeles rock club The Troubadour. “Playing for, like, 500 people. What more do you want?” says Horan. “I’ve had some good moments with screaming teenagers, but I like when the room is completely dead. It’s a different kind of respect. People are actually listening.”
Wedding Series #1 - He Asks Your Parents For Permission (Niall)
As soon as you had driven off to work Niall was pulling out his phone, his eyes still nervously glancing out of the kitchen window as he thumbed through his contacts. He hadn’t been able to sleep last night from his building nerves and he was sure that if you had stayed in the house any longer he probably would have blurted out exactly what he was thinking of doing.
When he found your parent’s contact number he hit call before he could talk himself out it, knowing one hundred percent that this was what he wanted, he wanted to spend the rest of his life with out and he couldn’t do that until he had your parents blessing. He knew what tradition meant to you. When your mum answered he sucked in a lungful of air, debating with himself on whether to hang up and forget this whole thing. “Niall, are you there?” Your Mum asked, a hint of concern in her voice. “Yeah,” He finally breathed out. “Sorry got a bit distracted.” “Oh that’s alright,” She answered. “How are you dear?” “Nervous,” Niall choked out before he could stop himself. “Can - can I talk to you both please?”
Your Mum called out for your Dad, telling him that Niall was on the phone before putting it on speaker, your Dad’s voice ringing through the line. “Everything okay Niall?” He asked gruffly. “Y/n okay?” “Yeah, no she’s fine, she’s gone to work already actually.” “Tell us what’s going on Niall,” Your Mum pleaded. “You’re starting to worry us.”
Niall raked his fingers through his hair, closing his eyes tightly while he took a deep breath. “I want to marry her!” He blurted, instantly feeling the heat rise to his cheeks. “You - come again?” Your Dad replied. “Sorry Sir but I want - need to marry your daughter, she means everything to me and I couldn’t imagine a day without her in my life. Please Sir.”
There was a pause on the line and Niall was bracing himself for your parent’s to say no when he heard your Mum sniffle a little. “Oh my,” She said quietly. “Niall that was beautiful.” “Of course you can marry her Son,” Your Dad added cheerfully.
Niall sagged back against the kitchen counter, his free hand moving down to take the small velvet box from his jeans pocket. As soon as he’d seen it he had to get it, hoping that you would love it as much as he did. He flipped open the lid, smiling to himself as he looked at the sparkling ring inside. “Thank you,” He murmured softly.
I think what most Larries don’t understand about most um “antis” or people who don’t believe what they believe (is the catty name necessary? really?) is that most of use aren’t against the idea of Louis and Harry being together.
If Larry came out tomorrow, saying that they make each other happy and that they love and support each other, we’d be fucking elated. Because ALL the boys in 1D deserve to be happy and should have people in their lives that make them happy.
We aren’t homophobic, like many of you guess believe.
I and other “antis” are against SOME Larries bullying people in this fandom, including the boys themselves. Assuming/assigning sexualities (especially when it’s been denied several times) , harassing them and their families about Larry and harassing fans for not believing what you all think is real is just gross. I know that not all Larries do this, but too many of you guys do this and it’s getting so old.
I’m all for shipping whatever you want to. Lilo makes me happy, for others it’s Larry or Niam or hell, Hobama. Feel free to draw fan art or write/read fan fics if it makes you happy. But if you cross that line where you’re trying to enforce your beliefs on another person and assign sexualities to them just to make you happy, I am against that.
I’m not “anti” Larry, I’m anti-fucking rude ass people making things fit their interests and not caring about other people and the consequences of their actions.
