The Parent Trap - Part Eight
Character: Dean Winchester
Word Count: 1,339
Summary: Dean and the reader have kissed, finally, but rather than make them float on a cloud, it keeps them up at night as new feelings arise and old ones find new strength.
God effing damn it.
This was not supposed to happen. Dean was not supposed to fall in love. Didn’t he always say he wouldn’t risk that again, for Ramona’s sake if not his own? For the next four days while Ramona fights off a virus, Dean tends to her and contemplates his feelings. He convinced himself that loving another woman was a good thing, and maybe it is. It sure as hell feels good. Loving is healthy, humans aren’t meant to live loveless lives, so why is he so scared by it?
Because of Mercedes, of what she did to him, and of what she did to Ramona. The last time he loved a woman, he had his heart broken, and his daughter was scarred for life. Quite honestly, Dean has been surprised by how easily Ramona encourages his relationship with (y/n). He thought she would reject even the suggestion of him dating someone new. She’s the reason he never acknowledged flirtations in the past, but maybe he should have expected her to try and “help”. It’s no secret that Dean’s daughter has always needed to know he’s happy.
