I will never understand how the general GOT audience can watch those creepy unwanted advances from Tormund to Brienne, and ship them so passionately and so suddenly, yet the last scene between Jaime and Brienne, where a swell of emotional music is playing as they almost tearfully wave goodbye to each other in the freaking moonlight, does NOT get the same reaction? This tells me one thing:

These idiots don’t actually care about Brienne having a meaningful romantic relationship. What they like is that Tormund grosses her out, and she’s clearly repulsed, and that’s FUNNY to them. It’s easy, and not too deep, and an acceptable form of romance for the unconventional woman on the show who’s meant to be unattractive and less feminine then all the others. They don’t have to think too hard about it, and they don’t have to admit that that woman could be wanted by a more “desirable” character like Jaime Lannister. Fuck that shit!

↳   “ So many vows. They make you swear and swear. Defend the king. Obey the king. Keep his secrets. Do his bidding. Your life for his. But obey your father. Love your sister. Protect the innocent. Defend the weak. Respect the gods. Obey the laws. It’s too much. No matter what you do, you’re forsaking one vow or the other.
