nikk and aia photography

I’m not the type of photographer who’s really into boudoir. This is actually my very first boudoir shoot and I’m pretty proud to say it is paid. Yes, I got paid shooting this. Woot! :D

What made this shoot challenging is I have to shoot it without Nikk. I have a little self-esteem issues when it comes to being a “photographer”. I always draw my confidence to Nikk. When he’s around I know I can make great photos, and if I couldn’t make even one I know Nikk’s photos always are great so there isn’t much pressure to me. Y’know. The model, she’s actually getting married next year and one of our clients, asked me to shoot her boudoir without Nikk so… I don’t know if Nikk is just being bias but he said I did OK. Yey! :D Accomplishment indeed.

SONYA’S GARDEN PART I.

It was my first time at Sonya’s Garden last November 4th. Romeo and Patricia (couple from the third to the last photo), didn’t get enough post nuptial during their wedding last year because the ceremony started and ended too late already so they asked us to shoot them another post nuptial just for fun, I guess? It was actually nice of them to book us even if we weren’t the one who covered their wedding last year. Maybe this is their way of celebrating their wedding anniversary. The place was nice and the rooms were awesome. I wanted to check in myself but, maybe next time! Haha!

FIRST BRIDAL FAIR.

I’ve mentioned at some previous post that I am waiting for the photos from my film camera before I blog about our – Nikk and Aia Photography – first bridal fair.

This was our booth! Nikk and I, and his dad, made everything by ourselves – from the walls, to cranes, the design, everything. I never knew we could pull off something like this ever. I didn’t help much with the building and all to be honest, but I think I did, somehow, a fair share of labor.

The experience was surprisingly fun and exciting. We were getting not so good feedbacks from our co-suppliers about exhibiting at fairs, but Nikk and I really did enjoy everything about that two day experience. We met co-exhibitors that were, again, surprisingly nice. I mean, I didn’t expect to be chummy chummy with competitors. Heck, we are competitors. But instead, I got into conversations with them each time I make a round at the exhibit. Some suppliers even stopped by our booth and compliment the design. Hihi! *kiligs*

We didn’t book any at the day of the event itself. We didn’t really expect anything anyways. We even encouraged clients to look into our brochure first, study them, and even compare them to other suppliers that they are considering. We are in dire need of clients, yes, but we don’t want to be needy. We want to attract clients who likes us for what we can do, for our own style, not just any clients – for the sake of having clients – and ending up being hired by those kind of people who hire photographers so they can copy what they saw over the internet at cheaper price. I don’t know if that is proper business and marketing, but it worked, and currently working for us anyways. We’ve booked clients, thankfully, after the exhibit. Still waiting and hoping for more clients to call back.

Don’t know what to say anymore, but Nikk and I will most definitely join another bridal fair next year. Hopefully, a bigger event this time. :)

TWO BOOKS IN ONE DAY.

It’s not everyday we get two client meetings in one day in which both were booked! Thank You God! Still two more months before this year ends and 2014 is already looking brighter each day. I am excited! <3

Ever since Nikk got his Starbucks card, he’s been more excited to do client meetings or just hang around in Starbucks. Good timing also cause it’s his birth month this month so aside from getting a free grande fix, he also got a free slice of cake. I don’t know why he is so fascinated with it. All I can see is gastos! Haha!

After Starbucks Eastwood meeting, we went straight to TriNoma for another meeting. And one can never have enough train shots, especially in the Philippines where it is restricted! I’m a rebel! Hahaha!

Nikk will probably kill me for posting the last two photos! He’s so hungry, so as the lady behind him. Hahaha!
