BRITAIN: Get this question out! Tweet it!

I have someone very close to me who is involved in healthcare in quite a big way. He has been to see Lansley and argued against the NHS Bill. He has also presented to the Health Select Committee and has a lot of info on why the NHS Bill is a terrible, horrible idea.

He believes the reason they are refusing to publish the Risk Register is because it contains the closure of possibly 50+ hospitals.

This is a big deal and we need to be talking about it:

Is the non-publication of the risk register because it contains the closure of 50+ hospitals?

Support the junior doctors, save our NHS - Public meeting in Middlesbrough, 1 March 2016

Teesside People’s Assembly to host public meeting on the health of our NHS: Tuesday 1 March, 7.00pm to 9.00pm, in St Mary’s Centre, Middlesbrough

The Government’s attacks on the NHS continue apace, with Jeremy Hunt imposing an unfair and unsafe contract on junior doctors and scrapping NHS bursaries for student nurses and midwives.

On Tuesday 1 March, we’ll be hearing from three activists involved in campaigns to save our NHS, discussing the way forward and building support for the People’s Assembly March for Health, Homes, Jobs and Education (16 April).

  • Joanne Land, secretary of 999 Call for the NHS, on the NHS Bill, a private member’s bill which seeks to repeal the 2012 legislation which set in train the current break-up and privatisation of health services.
  • Gemma Gordon, co-founder of Student Midwives and Nurses against Bursary Cuts - North East, on the campaign to save the NHS bursary.

The venue, St Mary’s Centre, is a fully accessible building located at 82-90 Corporation Road, Middlesbrough TS1 2RW (opposite Doctor Browns pub). Directions can be found on Google Maps at http://goo.gl/maps/vlFp0.
