Invest in feeding your brain!!!

The brain is vital to our existence as it enables us to think and directs almost everything we do. The brain makes up only 2 percent of our body weight, but it consumes 20 percent of the oxygen we breathe and 20 percent of the food we consume. Improve your inner style and thinking by giving your brain the best quality foods.

Here are a few of my favorites used in my daily meal plans.
Cashews: rich in antioxidants which help with memory. Great as a mid-afternoon snack.

Dark Chocolateconsidered healthy because of its high antioxidant content; the darker the chocolate, the better. Chocolate also has caffeine, which stimulates the brain increasing alertness and focus.

Avocados: rich in omega-3 fatty acids which are important for helping to maintain cognitive function. Substitute a turkey sandwich for an avocado sandwich or threw it in your favorite salad.

Kale, spinach, and other dark, leafy greens: rich in iron and phytonutrients (natural-occurring chemicals in plants that may help prevent disease and keep your body working as it should).

Sweet potatoesare loaded with phytonutrients, fiber and vitamin A. A great source of carbohydrates. Salmon: loaded with brain-boosting omega-3s.   Eggs: excellent source of protein and helps to keep you lean.
