(SportsNetwork.com) - Brown kicked a career-high five goals and the Giants shut down a punchless Eagles offense en route to a 15-7 victory at Lincoln. With rookie Barkley pressed into QB duty for much of the game, the Eagles (3-5) mustered just 201 total yards and failed to produce a TD on offense for a second consecutive week against an NFC East foe. Philly was coming off a 17-3 setback to Dallas last Sunday. The Eagles’ lone score came on a 2-yard fumble return by reserve linebacker Goode in the 4Q, the result of a bad snap that soared over the head of NY punter Weatherford. Vick briefly returned to action for the Eagles after missing two games with a hamstring pull, but aggravated the injury late in the first half after completing 6-of-9 attempts for only 31 yards with an interception. Barkley, elevated to the backup role with Foles sidelined by a concussion, went 17-of-26 for 158 yards and was also picked off once in relief. Manning threw for 246 yards on 25-of-39 passing to help the Giants (2-6) halt an eight-game road losing streak and post a second win in a row following a dreadful 0-6 beginning to the season. #newyorkgiantsclubhousedotcom

East Rutherford, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - Hillis hadn’t been in the Metropolitan area since posing for the 2012 Madden cover. From the cover boy to jobless in less than three years, Hillis returned to the national spotlight on Mon and helped the Giants pick up their first win of the season. Hillis ran for a TD and Eli didn’t throw an int for the first time this season in the New York’s 23-7 triumph over the sloppy Vikings. Peterson, the reigning MVP and 2,000-yard rusher last season, was held to 28 yards rushing five days after the funeral of his 2-year-old son. The 27-year-old Hillis tallied 36 yards rushing on 18 carries, while hauling in five passes for 45 yards for NY (1-6). Manning was 23-of-39 for 200 yards and a TD. He came in leading the NFL with 15 ints.

#nygiants #giants #newyork #ny #newyorkgiantsclubhousedotcom Kansas City, MO (Sports Network) - Alex Smith threw three touchdown passes while getting plenty of help from his defense and special teams, and the Kansas City Chiefs maintained their surprising early-season success with a 31-7 rout of the wayward NY Giants at Arrowhead Stadium. Smith shook off a pair of interceptions to throw for 288 yards on 24-of-41 passing, while Jamaal Charles accumulated 127 yards from scrimmage and caught one of Smith’s touchdown strikes to help Kansas City (4-0) to its best four-game start to a season since 2003. Dexter McCluster contributed a dazzling 89- yard punt return touchdown to the win, while a swarming defense limited the Giants (0-4) to 298 total yards, 11 first downs and a 1-for-14 success rate on third down. NY, now 0-4 for the first time since the strike-marred 1987 campaign, was dealt a second consecutive lopsided defeat after last week’s 38-0 manhandling by Carolina. Cruz provided the Giants’ lone bright spot by totaling 164 yards on 10 receptions, including a 69-yard touchdown connection with Eli Manning. Manning finished just 18-of-37 for 217 yards with one touchdown and an interception.
