always making me laugh,
if I didn’t say so myself,
she’s my second half.
the longing that has been haunting
her internal consciousness is finally regained.
she’s finally wanted
and heres how this will be explained.
Her father left, her mother unexpressed.
raining down tears of sadness she remained well-founded
and suppressed her fears.
Assisting everyone as she’s collapsing at the bridge of her feet, shaking down not able to stand for much longer.
All she wanted was to be relaxing.
Her body ached, her eyes enlarged, not baring a single minute of each school day.
She found purpose.
and she stood tall no longer nervous for the sadness to flood her veins.
She remodeled and rebuilt who she was to who she is now.
Her sadness will remain forbidden in the pits of her soul, away from the surface above.
and this is where something called love is in control.
Love is guiding her gently through the horrifying abyss.
finding her way through the terrifying reality that not everyone will bow to her feet.
Looking around, her palms sweaty, people talking, as if their lips were walking. But what they were articulating, was echoing through her manipulating sanity.
love guides her out of the insanity that is aching to fill her foreign constitution.
the difficulties she encounters are only mountains to be climbed and oceans to cross.
Never the less will love help her across.
She’s stronger than love, she doesn’t need love.
But without her love she wouldn’t be above the rest of society.
Cancer is her sign, very vulnerable at any given time.
But she doesn’t usually face her design head on.
compatible with a pisces, they fit just fine. heightened emotions mixed with romantic ambitions, the two will eternally love each other like fine wine at a celebration.
she knows how to make you feel invincible.
Like you are the most visible sight in her journey through this universe. No need to question her love because she will devote herself to the one she cherishes most.
Beautiful is an understatement.
She has honey sweet lips. They are lilac soft.
she has a soothing voice. And a joyous personality.
Only anyone around her felt warm inside.
Uneasy at times she does not notice the rays of sun that radiate when she smiles.
They would travel for miles, at least 3,032 to a place called New York.
Big city, bright lights. Not a fantasy but a dream, you could almost imagine hearing her adolescent tittering about the unfamiliar city.
Her heart internally placed in New York, but not the city itself.
A girl perhaps, holds her heart, firm- like a scholar and his smarts.
undying trust in one another the two of them slowly developed into one.
fighting the distance soon enough it’ll be all done.
No more distance no more patience.
So here I am, describing my extraordinary girlfriend, the love and compassion she has for her beloved family, friends and me. Enough to last a lifetime.
when you read this I hope this gives you the confidence that lies between my eyes and yours. I see the girl that can get through it all. Who will never truly fall.
One day you’re sixteen and you’re on top of the fucking world, looking down from the roofs edge of the highest building in the city and suddenly you realize that this place is too small for the adventures you dream of but the world is too big for you. Then ten years pass, twenty, thirty, and it’s too late to go back to being the tiny sixteen year old girl with big dreams in a small city because now you have small dreams in a big city and the world has shrunken. And you’re drunk off the memories of these adventures that you went on but they’re not as great as they should have been because they were wasted thinking about how beautiful the universe looked in your eyes.

The cold water covered Stiles’ face as he took a deep
breath, closing his eyes to splash another handful of water over his hot skin.
He was shaking, he thought he was ready to see you but he really wasn’t. He
stared into mirror, watching his brown eyes falter and his once happy smile
disappear. “Fuck.” He groaned, anger building inside his veins. “Fuck, fuck,
fuck!” Stiles recalled the last time he was in this position, the heat rising
onto his cheeks, remembering the time he failed himself.
It’s filled with promise, with beauty, with the ambitions, dreams, and principles of millions of people; how could anyone name it? The City of Dreams, the City that Never Sleeps, the Center of the Universe, the Concrete Jungle- nothing compares to the name which I know it by: the City of my Soul.
This is another story based on a slightly embarrassing, yet imo adorable, situation, or rather a few situations, I found myself in. Compared to Mr. Blue-Eyes I took a lot of artistic liberty with this one. (Because, you know, I didn’t actually get to meet the Avengers. I also didn’t move to New York but to Australia.) But the basis of the idea: having trouble with communicating in another language, meeting a handsome man and not realising he is flirting with you, thanks to a language barrier, is EXACTLY what happened to me.
Pairing: Bucky x Reader
Warning: awkwardness, some language
A/N: Since the amazing goddess that is @buckyywiththegoodhair already mentioned a little incident of mine in her comment on my last story, I thought I’d write about this next. This story will have more than one part. Have fun, lovelies! Also tagging @brighterlights because I love Jade and I want to.
Packing up your whole life, moving to another country and leaving all of your family and friends behind is never easy. Yet you never once regretted the decision you had made a year ago. You got offered a job in New York City and made the most important decision of your life within a heart beat. It took only a few short months from the idea of moving overseas to the realisation of your dream. And now here you were. New York City. The Big Apple. You arrived 3 months ago and haven’t really looked back since. Yes, of course, you missed your family and all of your friends but you enjoyed the vibrant city that was your new home so much that most days you hardly noticed.
During one of your first days in New York, you got hopelessly lost on one of your expeditions around town. Having a bad sense of direction in general and feeling completely lost you nearly broke out in tears. Your phone was dead, so you couldn’t even google your location or how to get back to your apartment. Being generally socially awkward, going up to random strangers and asking them for help really was the last thing you wanted to do. Besides, your English wasn’t exactly perfect. It wasn’t bad either, but there was still room for improvement. Having moved from Europe you knew you had an accent and made quite a few mistakes while talking to people.
A/N: I went into a lot of detail about the reader’s background because, you guessed it, I’m projecting. Working in the Foreign Service is my dream (then moving into a cushy job at the State Dept. working my way up to Madam Secretary wink wink.)) All flashbacks are in italics and marked with lines. Expect some more writing (and a makeover) soon because I’m finally done with school!!
New York City, the Big Apple, the City That Never Sleeps: all nicknames for the one place you never wanted to find yourself crawling back to. Growing up in New York City itself was nice, but you always planned on traveling the world. The closest you could get to that in NYC was working with the United Nations.
Ironically, you took a similar approach, joining the Foreign Service straight out of grad school. Your first mission was in Syria, where you spent two years working on humanitarian missions. It was rough working in such a hostile area, but the payoff was incredibly rewarding. You requested it for your second deployment and without much of a fight, you were stationed there once again. At that time, you knew it was unlikely that you were going to be stationed there a third time. The political climate and rebel forces were making it difficult for your missions to take place.
You eventually found yourself in Tel Aviv, working in the United States Embassy. It was a step above living in a country involved in an armed conflict, but the work wasn’t nearly as fulfilling. It was more about politic power than it was about helping those affected by the crisis in the Middle East. You left after only six months.
request: Being Dally’s girl and telling him that you’re moving away
The reason you chose a guy like Dallas Winston is so you would never get attached. You were not someone who wanted a serious relationship because you had big dreams of getting out of Tulsa- you wanted to get an education and then become an actress. For you getting serious with someone would just give you a reason to make you feel like you had to stay. Still you wanted someone you could hang around with and have a good time and know that nothing more would ever come from it. That’s why Dally was perfect. Or so you thought.
From the beginning of your relationship you both made it clear that it was nothing serious but a couple of months in you found yourself feeling something more for him. You felt what you thought was love. It was a scary thought but you knew you had to tell Dally despite the fact that you figured he would break it off with you. That thought made you sad but you knew if he did break up with you it was for the best.
When you told him he was oddly fine with it. He stared at you for a long time before saying “I don’t know what I feel.. I just know that what I’ feeling I’ve never felt for anyone before.”
And that was it. Even though he never actually could say the words to you you loved each other and you knew it. And suddenly your dreams to leave Tulsa weren’t so important. That was the future. That was your junior year of high school and the future came a lot faster than you thought because those two years past by in an instant.
Your plan was to go to the local community college. The only other school you applied to had been your dream school, in New York City, and you knew it was a long shot to get in there. They wait listed you and so you made plans to stay in the area- stay with Dally.
That was until August right before school was about to start up again. They had someone drop out and a spot opened up for you- full scholarship if you joined their theater program. It was perfect. You accepted and we’re ready to leave in a week for the big city until realization fell over you. You were going to New York but Dally was here. You knew you had to tell him so after procrastinating the inevitable for about a day and ignoring his calls you finally went to go find him.
You found him messing around the DX with his friends and he grinned when he saw you, wrapping an arm around your shoulders he leaned forward to kiss you softly. “Hey, doll. Where’ve you been?” he asked before he saw the look on his face. His smile fell a bit and you looked away. He got that you wanted to talk so he said goodbye to his friends and silently took your hand so you two could walk to Buck’s.
When you got up to his room you sat on his bad looking nervous while he sat beside you and lit a cigarette.
“Just be straight with me, doll. Whatever it is just say it okay?” he said and you quickly blurted out what it was.
“I’m moving to New York..”
“Oh..” Dally said with a nod.
“That’s all you have to say?” you whisper with frown.
“No..” Dally sighed. “I just meant oh.. because I thought it was something worse than that.”
“Me moving to New York isn’t bad news for you? Dally, I’m leaving Tulsa..”
“I know, Y/N. And that’s what you’ve always wanted to do right? All you’ve ever talked about is getting out of this place so I’ve always known it would happen eventually.” he explained but you were just confused and a little annoyed.
“Are you even upset? Dall, I’m heartbroken about this.”
“Well of course I’m upset, Y/N! But there ain’t much I can do about that is there?” He snapped and stood up. “Jeez..”
You stood up too and went over to him. “Maybe you could come with me.. Maybe we could.. we could-”
“Look, doll, I promised myself I’d never live in New York City again… I just can’t.” you looked down sadly and you felt his lips on your forehead kissing it lightly as he took your hands into his. He wasn’t one for tender moments but he would do it if it meant comforting you. “But I think I could make an exception for you and visit.” he whispered.
“Dall.. I don’t think we’d last very long with me so far away.” your voice breaks as you try not to cry. He pulls you close to his chest and you hug him back.
“Well.. Jeez, Y/N, we can make it work. I ain’t gonna cheat on you while you’re gone. Because.. y'know.. I love you..” he mumbled out quietly and your heart nearly stopped. You always knew he loved you. He always found ways to show it. But hearing the actual words finally coming out of his mouth made you feel like you had never felt before.
“I love you too..” you breathed out as the tears finally started to fall from your eyes.
“And besides..” Dally said as he pulled away from the embrace so he could wipe the tears from your cheek. “I’ll spend most of the time I’m not visiting you in the cooler so it won’t be any different to if you were here.”
You laughed a bit at that and shook your head. “Try not to do anything to stupid while I’m not here to stop you okay?”
“Whatever you say, doll.” he said and leaned forward to kiss you softly.
You weren’t sure what would happen with you two once you actually moved away but you knew that right there in that moment you could stay with Dally forever and be the happiest girl alive.
Emery Walker was the type of girl guys like Peter Parker only dream about. Sassy, quirky brunettes were a dime a dozen in a place as big as New York City. But he was wasn’t sure he’d ever be able to find one quite like her.
With an obsession of oragami birds, China Town, used maps, post cards from Paris, and the New York subway station. Or one with the tendency to listen to James Taylor while painting her toes black. Or the most unique thing: one that wanted to love him.
Everybody goes to New York,
looking for something.
Whether it be a new purse,
or a sense of self worth.
Everybody looks upon the lights,
looking for something.
To see themselves within,
or to hope they someday might.
Everybody inhales the city air
looking for something.
Whether it a brand new way to breathe
or the plain stale air
to fill up their lungs
dry out their bones
and crack them.
To kill them in the place
where their soul will live forever
because dreams do not die
in New York City.
Where everyone goes
when they are looking for something.
Everybody finds something in New York
whether they mean to or not.
Whether it be a place to call home
or just a place weird enough to make them feel normal.
Because in the rush of New York City
where people and cars pass
like death in a morgue
nobody is alone.
in a place so vast and broken.
Because like us,
New York is a broken city,
existing upon empty promises
and hopes so big they could burst the heart at the seams
and it will bring together
the broken city within
and you will find a brand new
piece of soul
to mold into whatever you want.
Something brand new to start over with
a brand new piece of yourself.
You will find it in New York,
whether you’re looking or not.
Because everyone goes to New York looking for something,
whether it be a new purse,
or a sense of self worth.
