I think the biggest mistake people make on criticizing Amy Pond’s arc is assuming Let’s Kill Hitler was in any way supposed to heal her trauma. Of course it wasn’t. It never could, nothing wipes away a violation like that. It’s a nagging wound that’s present in her character for the rest of her run, hence stories like Asylum of the Daleks, where are tires to run from the pain. She’s strong, she’s a survivor, and she lives a good life, but that doesn’t mean the pain is wiped away.
