BUTCH-FEMME ZINE: SUBMISSION CALL OUT!

WHO: Persistent Press is a new grounds-roots project that aims to create collaborative zines on the butch and femme lesbian experience. We are seeking a diverse range of contributions that will ideally connect older generations with younger, reach out to butches and femmes looking for commonality and shared experience, and bring insight and understanding to butch and femme identities.

STONE

Kicking off the first issue of Persistent Press zines, the subject is devoted to one of the most misunderstood and misrepresented aspects of butch and femme identities: STONE.

Stone-identified butch and femme lesbians over the age of eighteen are invited to contribute to this issue with their personal reflections on the stone experience. This zine is pro-stone identity and its aim is to allow stone-identified people to speak their truth, provide context and points of reference for people who may be discovering they are stone, and bring insight to non-stone identified people about what it means to be stone.

little folklore things

in some english folklore there is a belief that the first soul buried in a new burying ground will be tasked to haunt the cemetery forever helping souls move on to heaven and help them to avoid the devil and witches, to avoid this fate there is some customs of burying a dog or some other animal in a new cemetery, it is called a church grim, and unlike other black dogs, which are often harbingers of death, it is a benevolent spirit meanwhile in scottish folklore there is the belief that a person will haunt a cemetery until another is buried there to take their place and so on

in breton folklore it’s believed that if you find yourself on the sea on halloween or all soul’s day that the spirits of the dead lost at sea will try and call your name  to get you to carry them back to land so they can be put to rest properly

among the numerous beliefs of the origins of the selkies, one in shetland and orcadian tradtion is that selkies are the souls of drowned sailors who can return to human form once a year to visit their families

it is believed that the seventh son of a seventh son (or seventh daughter of a seventh daughter) who has red hair will be born with the sight to see the fairies

it is believed unwise to wear too much green as it is a fairy colour and might attract them to you

  • In your free time, ‘The White Lotus’ basement terrace is a gorgeous place to grab some caffiene and sweets. Later in the evening, The Green Leprechaun Bar will be your new stomping ground. Mingle with your fellow nightowls and blow off some steam! Shop at the official campus bookstore for all of your supply and swag needs.

Every items have been successfully playtested. For MAC users, you might encounters stuttering issues if your computer is running on an old version or with minimal requirements. For newest versions or PC users, no issues have been found.

Because the University is set as a lbrary, kids can possibly show up. It doesn’t happens a lot, but it could be annoying for some users. To prevent this, chose the lot trait “teens hangout”. Also, if you’ve Get Together, create a group of students and set up the campus as their favorite location. With both combine, you’ve a slim chance to have kids showing up, and if they do, they’ll leave pretty soon.

BTS: Spring Day Stage Analysis

The world has finally seen the Spring Day stage. And wooh! That was emotional! (You’re heartless if you didn’t shed a tear)

When they talked about Youth Ending… They weren’t fucking kidding.

Bangtan may have talked about their advocacy against discrimination and injustice for the MV (if you want to see the symbolisms check my theory here: BTS You Never Walk Alone - Spring Day MV Theory: The Untold Story) but this song, this choreography… was all dedicated to the victims and families of the Sewol Tragedy which happened on the spring day of April 16, 2014. The Sewol Ferry tragedy ended the youth of almost 300 students from Danwon High School that day and this song and stage hopes to give comfort to the victims and their families that they are not alone.

When us ARMYs say that Bangtan is relevant, we don’t only mean that they are breaking new ground in the industry they are in. Their songs in and of itself are now even more relevant than some on-lookers may perceive.

Collage House in London

Transformation of a 19th Century steel fabricator’s workshop in North London into a family home by Jonathan Tuckey Design. From the street a protruding box entrance gives no clue as to what lies beyond the narrow street frontage. But as you move through the house it unravels bit by bit to reveal a surprising variety of spaces arranged around a courtyard garden which was created by demolishing one of the original buildings on the site.

We used simple and everyday materials in order to rejuvenate the character of the building. We enjoyed discovering what was necessary to ‘domesticate’ an existing industrial building while keeping enough of what is original to ‘ground’ the new home in its context.

This slide is DEFINITELY the one that pisses me off the most, because these fuckers have the gall to act like they’re breaking new ground by putting in humor and “self-mockery” and having Peach defy the “damsel in distress” role

  1. Mario spinoffs have featured copious amounts of humor and “self-mockery” since Super Mario RPG in 1996, if not earlier. They aren’t, like, the height of comedy, but I can guarantee they’re INFINITELY better than anything the Rabbids guys consider funny.
  2. Peach being “badass” and defying the damsel-in-distress trope has also already happened several times. Mario fucking 2 had her as a playable character in 1988.
  3. What the fuck do they mean “conservative universe no more”? Are they talking about how Miyamoto said he doesn’t want spinoffs to take creative liberties or introduce new characters anymore? Because if so, then I don’t want a fucking Rabbids crossover to be the game that breaks this rule, I want it to be Paper Mario, or Mario and Luigi, or any other actually good Mario spinoff

TBH, most of the time talk about fanfiction “cliche” is just an attempt to stifle fanwriter creativity. You don’t see artists getting slammed for drawing concepts/ideas that other artists play with, so why are writers held to a higher standard? 

It doesn’t matter if other writers have covered a topic/trope before; everybody brings their unique perspective and style of writing to the table. You are under no obligation as an artist to constantly break new ground and deconstruct tropes that some people label “cliche.” And tbh it’s a pretty dick move to look down your nose at content people put time and energy into just because it’s been done a few times before. 

If it makes you happy, by all means keep writing about it.

HMM I don’t think i necessarily have any substantially new/ground-breaking advice, but it doesn’t hurt to serve as a reminder to consider the arms are also an important contributor of flow to your artwork’s composition as a whole..! If you plan out how you want the arms to work with your piece, you can essentially… mend the form a bit to work with how you want it to move. (Does that make sense?)

also, i think remembering straight lines against curved lines are a pretty effective way of conveying flow on the human form!!

Tactics Group MG14Z

MG-14Z - a twin barreled dual feed machinegun based on the MG42/MG3 chassis.

A small yet dynamic company located in the German city of Frankfurt, the Tactics Group GmbH corporation has drawn a lot of attention upon itself during the latest trade shows in Europe, thanks to its P-18 pistols − modern versions of the Austrian Steyr-Mannlicher GB Barnitzke-type gas-brake pistols − and thanks to its fancy modernized variations of the German World War 2-era “Fallschirmjägergewehr” Fg42 rifle.

However, the Tactics Group company is also well introduced in the field of defense manufacturing: it is the sole European distributor of the C-More M26-MASS modular assault shotgun system also used by the United States Army, and cooperated with Rheinmetall to take part to the “Kampwertsteigerung” program, which led to the spawning of the Mg3-KWS 7.62x51mm-NATO modernized general-purposes machinegun for the German Bundeswehr.

That’s why the Tactics Group’s latest and more fancy creation − the MG-14z − might actually have a future: conceived to enhance the firepower of these military units that still issue the Mg3 or other Mg42 variants − including the Italian MG-42/59 or the former Yugoslavian SARAC-53 − the MG-14z is as close as you could get to a double barrel MG.

Only the receivers of two separate MG3s remain in the MG-14z; everything is re-engineered and rebuilt from the ground up: new barrels with ventilated metal shrouds, new feeding ports, new twin feeding systems with downwards ejection, new single pistol grip and trigger, new common chassis.
As the project is currently ongoing, there’s no further information currently available about the MG-14z; the Tactics Group GmbH company however seems to believe in it, going as far as to call it “a low-cost alternative to Miniguns”.
