It had been 2 months since the Miss USA pageant, and Erin Gilbert’s life had moved rather fast since then. She had gotten the scholarship she wanted, had done quite a few appearances on National TV as part of her Miss United States obligations, and had moved from Michigan to New Jersey. Jennifer Lynch, who studies Political Sciences at Princeton, had offered up a spare room for Erin, claiming the woman couldn’t honestly be considering student housing for her grad student programme. The two had become fast friends after the competition had ended, with Jennifer and Erin finding they had quite a lot in common. The brunette had been looking for a new roommate for a while now, and had decided at least Erin would be able to not make a mess everywhere she went.
The biggest surprise to come out of the competition, however, had been the fact that Erin now had a girlfriend. (Alright, maybe the bomb had been a bigger surprise, but that problem had gotten solved quite heroically by said girlfriend). A girlfriend who was now sitting on the living room couch, curled up next to Erin as the two watched Imagine Me & You. The film had been Jillian’s idea, as the blonde had been beyond shocked to learn Erin had never seen it. Erin had to admit she was enjoying herself, occasionally laughing a little at the similarities she could find between Jillian and Luce.
Leaning in to her girlfriend’s embrace, however, she could sense something was bothering Jillian. The blonde had been a little quieter than usual today, and if there was anything Erin hated, it was seeing her girlfriend upset. So she tilted her head ever so slightly, looking up at Jillian. “Is everything alright? You’ve been quiet today, that’s not like you.”
