so this is a kind of thank you piece for the 200 followers!! man. i just. i can’t even believe it you know?? i love u guys so much and thank you for supporting my creative endavors lmao
i started this before i hit 200 tho, and it’s basically from a poorly thought out au idea of mine that i’ve probably seen somewhere else: what if the freelancers were actually freelancers? mercenaries like felix and locus? mercenaries who maybe end up working WITH felix and locus? very uh. intimately, if you want to look at it that way. which i do.
the real story is that i found this cool set of armor, venator armor in halo 4, and i wanted to draw someone with it. so i chose wash and gave him a shit eating grin and BAM. i forgot how much i hate halo 4 armor though so. this was a struggle. but you know. i love u guys. labor of love and all that.
Felix and Locus stop at a space colony to meet a client about a job, they’re walking through the business area, filled with people, and various shops. When a Sangheili and human in conversation walks by them. Felix scowls and sneers and keeps walking, but Locus stops dead in his tracks, head follows the Sangheili as they pass. Felix turns around just in time to see Locus bolt into a nearby corridor and runs after him, calls his name, and lightly puts a hand on his shoulder before Locus shrugs it off.
“What the hell, we have a meeting.”
Locus just gives him a look and sinks to a squat against the wall.
“You know what’s wrong.” Is all he says.
Felix sighs. He knows exactly what’s wrong, was just hoping for some reason it wouldn’t bother him this time. He sits on the floor beside Locus and waits. It’s really all he can do, while Locus stares at the floor and tries to calm his thoughts and shove back the memories of the war in his head.
After a few minutes he lets out a heavy breath and stands. Nods to Felix, who returns the nod in a quick motion, and they carry on their day.
