my five happy things for today

-there was a gelato festival in town today and I ate an uncomfortable amount but it was SO GOOD

-i went to sephora and got my foundation matched and,,,, oh my god,,,, i loved it so much i bought it AND the brush she used. It’s like I’m a whole new human… a beautiful human.. my mom got hers done too and we couldn’t stop complimenting each other

-I’m watching my school’s football team on tv rn and we aren’t getting completely destroyed!!! We are losing but it’s still a really good game!!!

-back to the foundation thing — I discovered a lot of new things about my skin and seeing as I’m one of those people that uses color theory to pick clothes, it totally blew my mind and I’m still not completely over it

-I GOT A MASSAGE and it was the best!!! I had these extremely tight spots in my back and the massage therapist today did what no others could — she got most of the tension out

❥ An alternative fashion trend among young Japanese women that started the mid-1990s, distinguished by a dark tan and contrasting make-up liberally applied by fashionistas.

❥ The Shibuya and Ikebukuro districts of Tokyo were the centers of ganguro fashion and it was started by rebellious youth who contradicted the traditional Japanese concept of beauty; pale skin, dark hair and neutral makeup tones.

❥ Ganguro instead tanned their skin, bleached their hair and used a lot of colourful makeup.

❥ In ganguro fashion, a deep tan is combined with hair dyed in shades of orange to blonde, or a silver grey known as “high bleached”.

❥ Black ink is used as eye-liner and white concealer is used as lipstick and eyeshadow. False eyelashes, plastic facial gems, and pearl powder are often added to this.

❥ Platform shoes and brightly coloured outfits complete the ganguro look. Also typical of ganguro fashion are tie-dyed sarongs, miniskirts, stickers on the face, and many bracelets, rings, and necklaces.
