“The neural crest cells give rise to spinal ganglia (dorsal root ganglia) and the ganglia of the autonomic nervous system. The ganglia of cranial nerves V,VII, IX and X also derived, in part , from the neural crest cells. In addition to forming ganglion cells, neural crest cells form the  neurilemma sheaths of peripheral nerves and meninges covering the brain and spinal cord (at least pia mater and arachnoid). They also contribute to the formation of pigment cells, cells of the adrenal medulla and various skeletal and muscular components of the head.”
