Leila Khaled is rolling over in her grave.

THIS JUST IN in cultural appropriation news. Dodo Bar Or, a model/actress turned fashion designer, previews a collection at David Lynch’s Silencio in Paris last year and the fashion world goes wild.

Her collection as described by Net-a-Porter, and I quote: “creates clothes infused with cool, contemporary flair. We especially love the versatility of her printed kaftans – perfect for summer, whether in the city, by the beach or at a festival.”

Hayeti, that’s real cute. I can’t wait to see some blond skinny white girls pairing this with a feather headdress at Coachella.

“The keffiyeh has been worn by Arabs residing in in Arabia, Jordan and Iraq for over a century. During the 1960s, usage of the black and white Palestinian keffiyeh grew as Palestinian nationalism increased and the Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat adopted it as a symbol.” (Wiki)

But you keep calling it a printed kaftan… I’m going to buy a dress and show off my arabic tattoos and drape a Palestinian flag over my head and send it her way.

CARTIER X NET-A-PORTER IS THE LUXURY COLLABORATION YOU DIDN'T KNOW YOU NEEDED

Added bonus? The stunning campaign, starring Georgia Fowler.

As far as classic timepieces go, the Cartier Panthère watch is up there among the world’s most iconic. So it may come as a (pleasant) surprise to some that the brand has decided to launch a new capsule collection featuring 12 reimagined Panthère styles.

The whole thing is part of a collaboration between Cartier and Net-a-Porter, the latter of which will exclusively stock the collection online for one month only. Among the offering? Yellow gold, rose gold, white gold and stainless steel variations (offered with or without diamond bezels) as well as a rose gold and black lacquer design inspired to look like the print of a panther.

“I am delighted that Cartier has chosen [Net-a-Porter] as its first online retail partner to sell the Panthère watch,“ said Federico Marchetti, the CEO of the Yoox Net-a-Porter group. "Our discerning customers love to shop for the very best in luxury and we are thrilled to give them access to this magnificent collection.”

Model-of-the-moment and BAZAAR cover star Georgia Fowler models the new collection here, ahead of the global release today.
