When my son DJ was four years old, he decided he was a Packers fan.

When he was five, he started kindergarten. He cried the first day. He didn’t want to go. We were waiting outside for the bell to ring and he was clinging to my, crying. He was wearing his new Packers jersey.

The teacher came outside to greet her students. Miss Nerko. She had a Wisconsin accent. And she was wearing a Packers jersey.

DJ immediately stopped crying and ran to her. “We have the same shirt!” She kneeled down and gave him a hug.

The second day of school she gave him a cheesehead.

He still has it. He’s still, at 21, a Packers fan.

Go Pack Go.
