Yvonne vs. The Final Scene. [x]

“Serena Joy (Yvonne Strahovski) sends Scrabble pieces flying as she confronts her husband (Joseph Fiennes) for his illicit activities with their handmaid Offred (Elisabeth Moss), hurling the tiles as hard as the insults. It’s their final scene together, and over in Serena’s sitting room set, the actors’ chairs sit side by side — Strahovski’s is draped with a knitted scarf, a ukulele (her guitar already had been shipped back home to Australia) and a giant bag of pretzels (a parting gift from craft services).”

President Obama even had a special visit from his anger translator.

Bob Greenblatt, NBC Entertainment chairman, told The Hollywood Reporter that they are currently looking for a way to reboot the series.

“Yes, we’re in the early stages of developing a new take on Xena and we’re looking for a writer. We want to do it.”

Now there’s no word yet on how Lucy Lawless will be involved, but NBC execs would definitely like her to be a part of it. Here’s what Greenblatt had to say about it being a sequel,

“I don’t think it’s just a continuation, but we haven’t gotten that far. I think it’s a great character, and we should try to figure out how to revive it somehow.”

He also stated that producers Sam Raimi, and Rob Tapert have a deal to come on for the reboot.

Here’s what he said on Lawless returning to the show,

"We’d love to have Lucy be a part of it — if we felt that her presence didn’t overshadow the direction we take with it. I’m not sure how she could be part of it if she wasn’t playing Xena, and I don’t know if that’s a direction we’ll ever go.”

So there you have it. The show will be coming back in some form. Which form? Nobody seems to be sure. Thought it’s very much looking like it will be a full-on reboot of the series. If they decide to make the show a sequel of sorts I’m sure very few people would object to that. It’ll be some time before we see anything from the show since it’s in its very early stages. Maybe within a few months we’ll hear some real exciting news.
