Dear Anonemus,

Okay, now I see what you’re saying.  Dahlia was the good twin, Siri was the evil one.  Confirmed.

Dear Anna NeMouse,

I generate Lang and Godot responses pretty much the same way.  I think of what I want to say, I try to remember an old adage that says basically the same thing, then I reach the same destination in the most confusing way possible.  Then make it relate to wolves or coffee… or wolf coffee.

I don’t have a lot of (blatantly) NickxMaya things on the blog.  My huge essay on their relationship is probably the closest.  I’m sure I’ll have more once they finally get married in AA6.

Dear boxtop,

That rule is in place to keep people from revealing to the cast that they are, in fact, fictional characters.  My position as Moderator in regards to submissions is just the guy running the site where they answer their questions.  I try to keep myself out of the spotlight but sometimes the characters are asked directly about the blog or the letters they get.

I wouldn’t say it’s breaking the fourth wall so much as leaning on it.  They’re answering letters and I’m the guy sorting and posting them.  I wouldn’t say I’m a character myself, but in regards to letters like that, I sorta am.  Or rather, my Mod persona is.

Dear Julia,

I could never kill something so dear to my heart.

When my time here is ogre, I’ll probably do what the Admin before me did.  I’ll ask for applications and hand the keys to the site over to the person I deem most qualified.

Dear Anonymous,

I do have an essay on the Phoenix/Edgeworth relationship, but I’ll go ahead and state right now I never saw any romance in it at all.  People might call foul, but I actually have Shu Takumi himself on my side here.

“It could be said that the protagonist of AA1 is Edgeworth because, in a manner of speaking, ‘Turnabout Samurai’ exists for Edgeworth’s sake,” penned Mr. Takumi in an AA1 dev blog. “And then, with the theme of the [fourth] episode being ‘rekindling the relationship’, I tried to paint a picture of the intensely strong bond of friendship that two men can share, but I wonder if that’s what people got out of it? There seems to be those who would suggest that Phoenix and Edgeworth’s ‘intensely strong bond’ is more of an ‘intensely passionate bond’ of sorts…”

Sorry, guys.  Not canon or even suggested.  As always, ship what you want but do so responsibly.

Dear thereminbeholder,

AA10 Phoenix will actually be The Hulk.  His suit will be shredded with muscle and his teeth will be permanently clenched in a snarl.

Nick, what’s wrong, buddy?

Dear eliaspsuedo,

“Wright, I’m already a demon prosecutor.”

The timing on AA6 seems about right to me.  DGS just released in Japan a while ago and they’re keeping the attorney train rolling.  Unfortunately, we don’t get all the stops here in America.

But yes, I am most definitely playing TPP.  I had yesterday off from work, played most of the day, and I’m still only like 6% or so into it.  This game is gigantic.  I don’t know why I’m answering mail right now instead of playing it.

Dear Anonymous,

I have, yes.  They’re alright but they’re no substitute for the games.  They are also not considered canon or legal for letters in regards to the blog either.

But they did give us this:

Bless you, Ace Attorney manga.

Dear Anonymous,

We went through this in DD too.  They won’t kill Maya.  At most they’ll just give us a scare like PLvsAA.

Dear Anonymous,

Ah, so the fear that Maya will be nothing but a cameo.

That is possible, yes, but we’ll have to see how well she’s done.  Pearl at least got to be a partner in two cases in DD.  Edgeworth just reprised his role as “final case cameo guy” which he’s been doing since JFA anyway (AJ not withstanding).

Given the setting we’ve seen so far for AA6, I would expect a larger role for Maya.  However, there’s still the elephant in the room that goes by the name of Character Bloat.  Phoenix is obviously our primary character and Maya’s almost guaranteed, but what about Apollo and Athena?  Will Edgeworth and Pearl come back again?  Will we have Gumshoe and/or Ema as our detective?  What about returning prosecutors like Franziska, Klavier, or Simon?  With all these spirits will we see Mia again?  Wait, don’t we need Thalassa back so Apollo and Trucy can learn they’re siblings?  Oh yeah, Trucy, we need her too!

You see what I mean?  There are so many main characters here now.  I feel like half the reason this game is taking place in Tibet or wherever is so they have a reasonable way to cut out the majority of the cast.  Just so long as Maya is treated well and as the adult she is I’m sure things will be fine.

I know people are worried about Apollo never getting a game again, but don’t be.  While Phoenix was #1 in popularity during that live streamed poll, none other than Mr. Justice himself took first after the fact.  He won’t be gone forever or even be missing from this game.  I’m just worried he’ll never find out he has a sister.

“Avery’s Chaotic Catch-up!” for Sega Genesis and PC-Engine/TG16 was an early entry into branching paths. Since Avery cannot die on his journey from South to North America to catch up with his flock, there is an emphasis on speed instead of endurance through levels. Being hit results in a lengthy tantrum instead of injury or death. If finished fast enough, each level gives way to a different, more difficult route. Only through finishing each stage as fast as possible can a second ending be unlocked.
