Neil Young and Willie Nelson stage anti-Keystone benefit show

Music legends Neil Young and Willie Nelson will perform at a concert to raise money for the fight against the controversial Keystone XL Pipeline.
The Harvest the Hope Concert will benefit Bold Nebraska, the Indigenous Environmental Network and the Cowboy Indian Alliance. It takes place September 27 at a farm near Neligh, Nebraska.

The Cowboy & Indian Alliance also has a historic event planned for Wednesday, when you are invited to join the Ponca Nation to harvest their sacred corn.

This sacred Ponca red corn was hand-planted by volunteers in the spring on the Tanderup farm, on land directly in the path of the Keystone XL pipeline that also crosses the historic Ponca “Trail of Tears,” and will be harvested on the Ponca tribe’s ancestral homeland in Nebraska this fall for the first time in 137 years.

The day will commence with a prayer ceremony, before everyone pitches in to harvest corn from 1:30-5:00 p.m., and conclude with a shared soup supper.

Pitch in to help harvest Ponca sacred corn on the Tanderup farm.
