While driving through Norway, my boyfriend and I listened to Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman. Here’s a quick sketch of Fenrir Wolf who is tricked into letting the God’s tie him with ribbon that traps him.
I went a little crazy and managed to render another picture of Hel between freelance - my favorite character right now :X I imagine her having more control of her body after she got to Niflheim, thus deciding to embroider her corpsy flesh and pierce it with rings. Garmr, the blood stained guardian of the realm lurks behind her.
I recently listened to Neil Gaiman talking about making things and how to live while doing that (look up “Neil Gaiman: Keynote Address 2012”). He talked about imagining his goal, where he wanted to be, as a distant mountain. And when in doubt, he would ask himself whether what he was doing took him towards the mountain or away from it.
This is my mountain. I think it must be quite small - I’d love to hold it for a bit.
