need black solidarity

Mei hatsume is the light of my life

White Americans: *started revolution over some tea and shit*
White Americans: wOW FREEDOM FUCK YEA I LUV AMERICA FUCK THAT TEA!! REVOLUTION YESSS!!
Black people: *are killed all the time for existing*
Black people: *riot and/or peacefully protest*
White person: but is that really necessary? ? like?? really?? white ppl die all the time in money accidents, i dont riot??we have a blak president? ? No more racist?? Im ???

colorism is one of the deepest and most pervasive wounds inflicted on the black community. it has left our dark sisters and brothers with a profound misconception of their own beauty, glory, and value, and our lighter family with a distorted sense of superiority; we as a community need to take stronger and more serious strides towards addressing and healing this trauma. it will take unwavering solidarity amongst black folk from every end of the spectrum to defeat white supremacy. the latter statement is not in conflict with the opening. please stop treating these two ideas as mutually exclusive.
