Richard Campbell Gansey III (18 years old), the only son, but not the only child of Richard Gansey II (nobleman, politican, just an important figure in New England), an heir of all Gansey fortune.
Born and raised in Boston, Gansey has been obsessed with the sea from the childhood, but never had a chance to become a sailor. His father wanted him to continue the family business, and Gansey pretended to be interested in trading and politics, but he did not abandon his dreams of a sea. He studied navigation, geography and history, hoping that one day he will have an opportunity to apply his knowledge in practice.
And that day came, when Captain Lynch raised his black flag next to Gansey’s ship.
