5-Minute Healthy Strawberry Frozen Yogurt

Yield: 4 servings

Prep Time: 5 min

Ingredients:

4 cups frozen strawberries
3 Tablespoons agave nectar or honey
½ cup plain greek yogurt
1 Tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Directions:

Add the frozen strawberries, agave nectar (or honey), yogurt and lemon juice to the bowl of a food processor. Process until creamy, about 5 minutes.

Serve the frozen yogurt immediately or transfer it to an airtight container and store it in the freezer for up to 1 month.

Body Butter Creme for Dry Skin

¼ cup Aloe Vera Gel

¼ cup cocoa butter (or if you can find shea better, use 1/8 cup each)

1 tbsp olive oil

4-5 drops essential oils, you favorites ***

Melt the butter(s) and olive oil together on low heat. Remove from heat and stir in the aloe vera gel and essential oils. Stir about 1-2 minutes. Put in cute pots or tins with lids.

Shelf life: 3-6 months

BEAUTY DIY RECIPES

1- Brown sugar + milk = body exfoliator

2- Yogurt + honey = sensitive-skin and redness remedy

3- Safflower oil + sunflower oil = scalp treatment

4- Petroleum jelly + raw, unrefined sugar = lip scrub

5- A dash of salt + water = surf spray for hair

6- Rosewater + coconut milk = relaxing bath

7-Warmed-up olive oil = prewash treatment for hair

8- Green tea + water =  skin toner

9-  Lemon juice + chamomile tea = hair lightener

10- Epsom salt + almond oil + cinnamon oil + sandalwood oil + allspice oil = hand and foot scrub


Gentle Almond and Oatmeal Scrub

¼ cup aloe vera gel

½ tsp gentle liquid soap

2 tsp ground almonds

2 tsp ground oatmeal

Mix all together. When applying, use about a tsp at a time and add more if needed. Apply to chin, forehead and, cheeks. Then wet your fingers with water and gently work in circles around your face (avoiding eye area) for about 1 minute. Rinse off with warm water. Store in a bottle or container. For dry to normal skin that can be used 1-2 times a week.

Shelf life: 2 weeks

**my notes: this is also a nice gentle scrub for your whole body. Legs, arms, hands, etc. Especially if the “expiration” is approaching, and you find that you have a lot left.

Finally made my own body butter tonight and it turned out great! It whipped up nice and it absorbed well into the skin when I used it.

If anyone else is interested in making their own here is the recipe I used.

- ½ cup shea butter
- ¼ cup coconut oil (solid)
- ¼ jojoba oil


You melt the shea butter and coconut oil together in a double boiler. (If you’re like me and don’t have a double boiler you could just use a glass measuring cup or a smaller pot.) Once it’s all melted pour it into a bowl and add the jojoba oil and any essential oils you want to use to add scent. I used lavender, eucalyptus and sweet orange oils for this.

The next step is important to getting it to whip: put the mixture into the freezer for about 10-15 minutes until it starts to solidify. You don’t want it too solid where it has chunks that won’t blend, but it needs to be somewhat thick and no longer translucent. The edges will harden before the middle so what I did was take it out a little early, use the mixer to mix it up to where it started thickening a little and then put it back in the freezer for two or three more minutes. Then I used the mixer again and this time it whipped up nice and thick. I put it in a small ball jar and I was done!

My next project it to make my own beeswax lip balm. :)

I don’t suffer from cellulite, but I know that there are a lot of people that do. Hopefully this all-natural recipe will help you out!
