Jesus you act like Donald trump is the worst thing that happened to America. What about the bombs that Obama dropped every 20 minutes during his 8 years? Like trump is pretty shitty but def not the worst

Barack Obama didn’t brag about sexually assaulting people.

Barack Obama didn’t instate this many controversial ~unconstitutional~ executive orders within his first two weeks in office.

Barack Obama didn’t gaslight the entire country by lying about the size of his inauguration, which will surely progress into lying about much, much more important things.

Barack Obama’s election didn’t lead to swastikas being drawn - and normalized - all over the country.

Barack Obama didn’t have over a million people take to the streets on one given day to protest him.

Barack Obama didn’t have every news outlet except for fucking Fox and Breitbart bashing him.

Barack Obama didn’t violate the law by pushing forward with the Keystone pipeline.

Barack Obama didn’t have the Pope comparing him to Hitler.

Barack Obama didn’t win through a rigged election.

Barack Obama didn’t silence the EPA and the National Park Service from communicating with the public - which is literally their job.

Barack Obama didn’t reinstate the Global Gag Rule, which will lead to hundreds of thousands of pregnancy and abortion related deaths.

Barack Obama didn’t deny that climate change existed, for the sake of his own business interests.

Barack Obama didn’t have his spokesperson promoting his daughter’s clothing line while he was serving in public office.

Barack Obama didn’t issue a Muslim ban in 7 countries, yet failed to include the 2 countries with the highest number of terrorist attacks

Barack Obama wasn’t best buds with fucking Vladimir Putin.

Barack Obama didn’t forbid legal residents from entering their own country.

Barack Obama didn’t nominate a Secretary of Education who was so unpopular that a tiebreaker vote had to be issued by the VP.

Barack Obama didn’t nominate an Attorney General who was deemed too racist to be a federal judge, and who thinks grabbing people by their genitals isn’t sexual assault.

Barack Obama wasn’t perfect, but he sure as hell wasn’t Trump.

I’m really wary of imagery like this

because I’m positive that liberals are in the process of leveraging the implied sentiment to oppose anti-establishment leftists too. In other words, Trump is an anti-establishment monster who is tearing down the beautiful values that this nation stands for, and leftists are likewise getting scarier when they declare things like “America was never great”. Liberal nationalism is one of our primary hurdles to overcome, this idea that America is (and always has been) a bastion of equality and progressive values. It’s powerful ideology, stuff that will keep millions locked in ineffective centrism over the next few decades.

I know an image like this

will absolutely haunt the liberal imagination in the decades to come, the horseshoe ghost hanging over their shoulders – fascists ready to turn ever-progressive America into an unprecedented tyranny for the few, leftists ready to turn lawful America into chaotic mob rule that only works in theory. After all, if you want legitimacy in the capitalist electoral system (as liberals do), you will absolutely condemn grassroots organizers, socialists, and the like in terms that this second image implies, especially in the decades to come.

I saw a lot of this at the recent pro-immigration rally a week ago – people all over the place carrying signs with stuff like the Statue of Liberty weeping, implying that this isn’t what America stands for. One of the core goals of the leftist project ought to be to help people realize that, yes, immigration bans and racism are what America has historically stood for – at least in the sense of the American capitalist/imperialist state, because I do realize there has been beautiful resistance and solidarity among the masses over the centuries. The history is clear: America is built on centuries of genocide and enslavement, inequality and domination coursing through its veins.

The American exceptionalism is unhelpful at best and super reactionary at worst. Abandon the Lady Liberty imagery and realize that we are already that tyrannical empire to most of the world, not this plucky melting-pot nation of progressive values.

Rise With Standing Rock Native Nations March coming to DC this Friday

  • Though the protestors at Standing Rock may have been forced off the front lines in February, the water protectors aren’t standing down.
  • On Friday, Native American groups and their allies will converge in Washington D.C. to march for tribal rights at the Rise with Standing Rock Native Nations March.
  • The march, as noted on the Stand with Standing Rock website, is being planned by the Native Nations Rise Planning Committee.
  • The organizers leading the charge, the website notes, are members of “Tribal Nations and grassroots Indigenous communities rising to the call set forth by the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe to defend our inherent rights to protect Unci Maka and our water: Mni Wiconi.
  • Though the protest is born out of the Standing Rock movement and fight against the Dakota Access Pipeline, Friday’s protest is a broader call for the tribal rights. Read more (3/6/17 10:50 AM)

I was very honored to meet and talk with my powerful brother and Hip-Hop artist Kendrick Lamar. The Cultural Revolution is On. The artistic community has historically been in the vanguard of social change. • #Farrakhan #KendrickLamar

We will not blame him for the crimes of his ancestors if he relents the royal rights of his ancestors; but as long as he claims their rights, by virtue of descent, then, by virtue of descent, he must shoulder the responsibility for their crimes.
