Its just not. It’s not flawless. It’s extremely dramatic. The dialogue can be weird at times, and sometimes the characters do things that make you sit back and think “what the fuck why” Max is so unrealistically naive. Chloe can be, well, Chloe. Victoria Chase is a stereotype… Right?
Wrong. Every single character in every episode, even in the prequel has shown development. The game is beyond relatable, and has relationships that you learn to adore. Even minor characters. I mean, who wouldnt love Joyce or Kate? And Rachel? She’s already warmed up in so many hearts. And she has just been introduced
The game leaves you second guessing, especially Before The Storm. The game makes you want to play the next episode. It leaves you thinking about it, even after you put it down.
It’s left me in tears, whether from laughter, or from my heart being ripped in two. (Yeah, I’m looking at you Polarized)
Not to mention, the game itself is beautiful. Every scene was painted. It’s aesthetically pleasing and the soundtrack is hella fitting. Every song carefully chosen to fit the complex atmosphere of the game.
Yeah, the game isn’t perfect. But the people behind it are the ones who love it. People are putting their heart and souls into it.
Most of the hate this game recieves is honestly just an excuse to bash something, in my opinion. I love this series so much, and I’m so excited for the rest of BTS.
Mentioned some of these in my YouTube video playing the game but might as well make bullet points on important things in Episode 1;
Like Max had time rewinding powers, Rachel has weather related powers.
The storm in Season 1 was her revenge on the town for her murder/and the fact she hated living there.
Chloe may have had made the connection in Season 1 with her line about the storm being Rachel’s revenge. With what went on in the first episode of Before the Storm, it’s hard to see Chloe not making that connection.
Samantha is not on one of the red binders. No one introduced in Episode 1 is. The screenshot of what appears to be the name ‘Samantha’ is actually ‘Deanna’.
Rachel’s dad may know about her weather powers. Here me out; unless Rachel tries to destroy forest parks all the time, there must be some meaning to the zoom in on his eyes reflecting the fire. Even if he’s just concerned his daughter is in the middle of it or not, may I remind you it did not zoom in on Joyce, who would obviously think that badass Chloe is behind it somehow.
David’s a little shithead; during the first cutscene with him he literally makes a gesture to Chloe you would normally give a dog. He also-but I didn’t get it-grabs Chloe and makes her fistbump him. Saving Max or not, he’s a shithead.
Max is kind of shitty for not communicating more with Chloe, and replying to her texts. She could put one second towards sending a text of confirmation that she is indeed alive or something.
Chloe’s truck is seen in the Junkyard scene, the one where she keeps punching and kicking it during her ‘SMASH’ sequence.
We all kind of guessed where Chloe’s blue hairs comes from, but ‘Hella’ comes from Rachel who uses it first and tells her ‘it’s a Cali thing’.
Victoria has no idea what Chloe’s name is and keeps calling her Kari but knows her name in Season 1. Progress.
Nathan is bullied a lot which may had influenced his own bullying in Season 1. But still he is a little fucker and I hate his guts.
WHERE IS WARREN?!
Stephanie, Samantha and Mikey have all become universally loved. Especially Steph and Samantha. And I agree.
If David Harbour (Hopper from “Stranger Things”) actually gets the Cable role, I expect at least one “Stranger Things” joke from Deadpool.
Some jokes from the top of my head:
“Cable, you need to relax. It’s just morning and you’re already pissed off. Remember…mornings are for coffee and contemplation.
“Yes Cable, I know what you’re thinking. I TOO would like to have sex with Winona Ryder. I know you never mentioned her name since this movie started but you seem to be the kind of guy who’d be into her, wink wink.”
“PANCAKES FOR EVERYBODY! And a single Eggo waffle for you Cable.”
“Jesus Christ, Summers, is your answer to everything just to punch them in the face?!”
“Nate, you can make the jump! Hop on over! Or should I say…hop-per on over!”
“Cable, you have experience with all things upside down, right? Can you twist my head around, it got mixed around after that fight with Arclight.”
“Just like my buddy Cable here, I too have lost my Will to live.”
So far we
know that Chloe and Rachel will definitely be in the Prequel.
We have also seen Frank and David, but who is else going to be in
the new game?
As far as
we know the game is set 3 years before the events in LiS, which means that Max lives in Seattle and won’t be in
the game in person. However I firmly believe that she will get some kind of
shout out. Maybe someone mentioning her name or we will see something that
reminds us of her or is foreshadowing her story.
saw David and Chloe so Joyce won’t
be far away and maybe we get to see some more memories of William then just the accident. Frank is (normally) never without Pompidou. However he wasn’t with him in
the Mill so chances are that Frank hasn’t saved him from the illegal dog
fighting ring yet (hurry up, man!). Thanks to Chloe we know that Victoria is already known as the queen
of b*tches in Arcadia Bay and where Victoria is, Courtney and Taylor are not
pause the game footage at 19:05 you can see a blond male person running into
Chloe and with the letter in the Mill chances are high that this is Nathan. I really hope that he is there
and that we may even get a glimpse of his sister Kristine.
In the trailer we see
that Chloe is still attending Blackwell Academy. So we will have a dome sort of
reunion with Principal Wells, Mrs. Grant and Samuel. Maybe we can also meet some other Blackwell staff like Samuels wife, Max’s (possible
depressed) English teacher Mrs. Hoida
or the school nurse An-Marie Barenchi.
However as told in the SquareEnix live stream Jefferson won’t be back. Same goes for poor Kate. But beside some new student some old will return as well. So
maybe we will see more of Dana, Juliet, Brooke, Daniel, Alyssa, Warren, Stella, Evan, Luke, Trevor, Zachary, Logan, Hayden and Sarah. At the beginning of the trailer
we see a skateboard. Chances are that Chloe and Justin are friends in the game and that we get to go skating with
If we go downtown we
will no doubt pay a visit to the Two Whales Diner and be able to talk to the Police Cops, the Truckers and other customers. Maybe even the Homeless Lady or the Fisher
As of other minor
character maybe we see another book by Dr.
Bill, get to meet Nathans therapist Dr.
Jacoby or watch the Weatherman
If you remember the
red folders with the name of the dark room victims and took a look at the room
plan in the dormitories in Max’s nightmare you were able to read one name on
both plates: Kelly. She was one of Jefferson’s
victims and also lived in the dormitories in room 217 when Rachel attended
Blackwell. Maybe we will met her as her room is opposite of Rachel’s. Another interesting
character is Megan. She was Chloe’s
friend in the alternative timeline and her name can also be found on the
folders. It would be cool if we would get to see more of her. The rest of the
dark room victims could also be new students at Blackwell (Alexis,
Ashley, Beverly, Brittany, Carol-Ann, Deanna, Kelly, Lucy, Lula, Lynn, Suzie and Tyra).
In the Mill we already
got to meet Skeevy Guy and his Blue Hat Friend and they don’t look
like they would forget the spilled beer anytime soon. So we will probably see
And don’t forget the Raven! I got a feeling that he will be
the new Blue Bird…
