Do you have any fun facts about Nathan Hale? If so, I would love to hear them!
Nathan Hale had a mole on the side of his neck and it was an omen he was going to die by hanging. Even as a child, he always knew that was how he was going to go out.
He was brought up under the “fear of god.”
As a child, Nathan like to play the board game morris, which is similar to checkers with his siblings but his father thought “the diversion might lead to evil,” and did not allow it to be played in his home. Once, while reading, his father fell asleep with the candle burning in his hand and Nathan and his siblings played the game by candlelight.
Nathan was born premature and underweight and had “very little promise of surviving the period,” yet he grew out of this and ended up six foot tall.
He was close with his mother but she died when he was young.
His dorm room at Yale was near the south entrance of Connecticut Hall and he shared it with his older brother Enoch and Benjamin Tallmadge.
During his sophomore year of Yale he joined a “secret” fraternity called Linonia.
At Yale he excelled at wrestling because of his size. Legend says no other student among his class could best Nathan in the long jump–a record Nathan set and “preserved” well into the nineteenth century.
March 1771 during his sophomore year, Nathan, Enoch and Benjamin Tallmadge and a few others broke windows at Yale and had to pay fines for what they did. His father didn’t know that was the reason his sons kept asking for more money.
He tended to succumb to the temptations of peer pressure and enjoyed car playing, gambling and drinking.
Nathan Hale and Benjamin Tallmadge called each other Pythias and Damon which in Greek legend symbolizes that you are willing to die for one another–they even wrote each other poetry expressing their appreciation for one another and Ben teased Nathan about his good looks.
Nathan wanted women to have equal access to education and on graduation day argued this in front of his class alongside Benjamin Tallmadge.
He was a teacher before he became a soldier. Every school day began in prayer and he used to play tag with his students. He could jump from the “bottom of one hogshead up and down into a second and from the second up and down into a third like a cat.” Other occasions, he would place his hand on a wooden fence “high as his head” and flint himself over in one quick movement.
He would take a while to respond to his letters, something Tallmadge scolded him upon.
At Yale he formed what they called The Quintumviri which was formed by Nathan, Thomas Meade, James Hillhouse, John Alden and James Wyllys.
While in the army as a then lieutenant, Nathan earned his soldier’s respect. One night he came upon a group of men playing cards. Nathan asked when what they were doing before snatching up the cards and cutting them all in half.
Nathan was still recovering from illness when he weakly accepted to spy in New York. After accepting he confided in his friend William Hull about his worries.
Asher Wright, a childhood friend and then aide of Nathan said that Nathan was too hot to be a spy. Asher Wright never recovered from Nathan’s death and fretted constantly because he was right there and Nathan never told him about his mission.
One day before he left camp, Nathan had taken a ball and kicked it over the tops of the trees. The soldiers who had witnessed this were said to have been astonished by Nathan’s show of strength.
On his mission in New York, he was disguised as a Dutch school teacher but unfortunately he had a definitive powder burn scar around his left brow, forehead and cheek that allowed everyone know he was a soldier.
After Nathan left for his mission, it was now of no value for Washington and the army who retreated after his departure. Nathan Hale died for nothing.
Nathan stupidly told his entire plan to Robert Rogers who was egging him on and pretending to be a spy himself.
In his final night, he asked was imprisoned in a green house and asked the guard William Cunningham to allow him a minister–Cunningham said no–Nathan then asked for a bible and Cunningham also denied him this. It was Cunningham who burnt Nathan’s last letters written before his death and it was him who flaunted his Yale diploma around the prison after Nathan’s death to his friends.
Nathan died at 11:00 in the morning, he was supposed to be executed hours earlier but it was delayed. He began marching from the prison at 10:30 in the morning.
Before being hung, Nathan asked if he could be shot instead but hung but he was denied this. He then said, “I am so satisfied with the cause in which I have engaged that my only regret is that I have not more lives than one to offer in its service.” The line attributed to him–”I only regret that I have but one life to lost for my country”–is only a paraphrased version of what he originally said.
At his execution, the crowds starting crying but the executioner yelled at them to be quiet or they would get hung as well for showing sympathy.
Nathan’s corpse was left hanging for three days after the event, his flesh rotting and British soldiers mocked him, spitting on him and threw food and rocks at his body. A slave cut him down after those days and he was buried unclothed in an unmarked grave.
-Nathan and Warren have a lot of those cute couple photos (y'know the ones that make people question “who took them?”) bet Max and Victoria- probably mostly Vic took photos of them when they both weren’t aware and aware ones because Nathan probably had a semi cute embarrassed reaction
-Nathan and Warren cuddling, Nate more or less laying on top of Warren. Warrens arms are wrapped around the male. Victoria forgetting to take the flash and Nathan automatically getting hella embarrassed and pressing his face into Warrens neck.
-I can see Victoria so clearly trying to gather the few that Max took and doing something surprisingly nice for the boys and cheesy and make a photo album of sorts for their like one year anniversary or something like it because she’s a happy supportive friend and just really like their relationship
-Victoria would deny she made it and that is was sooooo totally Max’s idea
-Nathan teasing Victoria like “I don’t know what’s funnier. You making this or that you expect me to believe you and Max sat down all chill and made this… Step up your lie game, Vicky.”
-Nathan would probably know where the album was at all times so if he was having a hard time or pre panic attack he’d flip through this and just look at them.
-Nathan also teasing Warren for looking like a total nerd in some of the photo graphs.
Who accidentally pushes a door instead of pulling/vice versa
It’s probably Nathan and it probably makes him anxious as hell. I imagine Warren used to tease him about it until he realized it actually made Nathan feel bad so Warren doesn’t acknowledge that it happens anymore.
Who doodles little hearts all over the desk with their initials inside them
Nathan. Except it’s probably not cute little hearts because I think we ALL know who wrote “I heat Warren Gayram” in the boy’s locker room. But I bet he like does that thing where he writes his first name with Warren’s last name because he probably doesn’t wanna be a Prescott cuz his dad’s a piece of shit but like Nathan would write like “Nathan Graham” and then like either scribble it out or set the paper on fire.
Who starts the tickle fights
Warren. He loves the sound of Nathan’s little giggles so he starts them all the time.
Who starts the pillow fights
Nathan. Normally it’ll be random as fuck. Like one second they’ll be laying on the bed watching TV or movies or a video or some shit and the next second, Nathan just ATTACKS and Warren’s like, “WTF MAN?!” I bet the fights get epic. I bet they accidentally break things.
Who falls asleep last, watching the other with a small affectionate smile
Nathan. I imagine Warren is one of those lucky assholes that falls asleep the second his head hits the pillow and Nathan tosses and turns trying to calm his anxious mind. and then he looks over and Warren’s peacefully asleep and Nathan just smiles.
Who mistakes salt for sugar
This is just a horrific ask man @_@ But Nathan. And I bet he’s pissed, right, because he’s like, “WHY DIDN’T YOU LABLE THE CONTAINER YOU ASSHOLE!?” and then Warren walks over, rotates the container, and it’s clearly labeled on the other side and Nathan’s like, “….oh”
Who lets the microwave play the loud beeping sound at 1am in the morning
Warren. He’s up late, marathoning something or playing games and he gets the munchies. I imagine Nathan would be one of those people that always stops the microwave when there’s a second or two left because he HATES the sound of the beep.
Who comes up with cheesy pick up lines
One-million percent Warren. I bet he texts Nathan cheesy lines and like leaves post-it notes around Nathan’s room with nerdy pick-up lines. and then one day he opens his lap top or a book or a DVD case and he sees that Nathan left him a little line on a post-it note and it’s just too cute.
Who rearranges the bookshelf in alphabetical order
Nathan. I imagine Warren’s one of those people who has organized chaos, whereas Nathan’s anal retentive (Possibly literally OCD) and needs shit to be organized.
Who licks the spoon when they’re baking brownies
Warren makes the brownies while Nathan is his lovely assistant, and the lovely assistant always gets to lick the spoon
Who buys candles for dinners even though there’s no special occasion
Nathan. He’s not too good with showing affection and such so he tries to woo Warren by doing cliche romantic crap like that. Warren doesn’t care what Nathan actually does but absolutely adores how much effort Nathan puts into it.
Who draws little tattoos on the other with a pen
Nathan. Nathan’s the artist after all.
Who comes home with a new souvenir magnet every time they go on vacation
Warren. It doesn’t matter if it’s just a day trip to Portland or if it’s a long vacation, he always tries to bring back little souveniers and knick-knacks
Who convinces the other to fill out those couple surveys in the back of magazines
I don’t imagine they read magazines but Nathan would periodically find quizzes online and take a few couple ones here and there.

“I know that look,” Nathan groaned, shaking his head at his flushed-cheek, grinning older brother. “Who was it now, huh?”
“Hmm?” Sam responded nonchalantly, his mind clearly elsewhere as he glanced over at his brother. “What? What did you say?”
“You got laid, didn’t you?” Nate rose a brow at his brother, whose gaze swam away from his younger brother and toward the docks. It’d been about a month since they’d seen one another after their trip to Libertalia, and they decided to meet up again. Sam had been here a week, bunking in a hotel. “Christ, Sam. I haven’t seen you like this since Crys-”
“Alright,” Sam grinned, brushing his brothers words off. “Yeah. Sure I did.”
“Well, who was it?” Nate looked over at him curiously, analysing the silence and the creeping smug grin on Sam’s lips. “Oh my God, it was (Y/N), wasn’t it?”
Sam just smirked as he pulled out his lighter and plucked a cigarette out from his back pocket.
“About damn time,” Nathan laughed, his mind thinking back to the awkward tension between the two during the Henry Avery adventure. It made everyone around them uncomfortable. “So, how’d it happen? Did you finally give in and make a move?”
“Actually,” Sam leaned back into the bench as he puffed a drag of his cigarette, “it was her who insinuated it.”
Nathan laughed, “of course it was. You just really didn’t have the balls to do it, did you?”
“No,” Sam smiled teasingly, “I did. I was just waiting for her to make the move. I knew she would - how couldn’t she? I’m irresistible.”
“Alright, alright,” Nate brushed him off. “So, what’re you like, official now?” He questioned.
Sam shrugged, “we haven’t spoke since. She wasn’t there when I woke up, either.”
Nate was shocked at his words. “Oh, jeez,” he cringed. “Why haven’t you called her? She’s probably waiting. Women are complicated, you see-”
“Thanks, brother,” he chuckled, “glad to know you’ve got the knowledge when I actually ask for it.”
“Sure, whatever,” Nate chuckled, “but seriously. She probably wants you to visit or at least call her. She’ll be waiting, I can assure you.”
“You’re probably right,” Sam responded, snuffing out his cigarette on the bench, half-smoked. He’d made a promise to stop smoking, but it was all baby steps. He felt a pang when he put it out but he flicked it away. “Good talk.”
Nate smirked, “where are you going?”
“Oh, you know, around,” Sam shot him a look, “I’m not going to admit it, brother.”
“Go on, say it,” Nathan teased.
“Fine. I’m going to see her,” Sam gave in, “I’m taking your advice. Isn’t it supposed to be the other way round?”
“Ha!” Nathan grinned. “Oh, I wish I could take a picture of that face,”
“Mhmm,” Sam rolled his eyes.
“Buy a nice frame, put it right up on the fireplace-”
“I get it, Nate,” Sam pressed a hand to his brothers shoulder. “I’ll… talk to you later.”
“Go get her,” Nate said.
Sam felt uncomfortably nervous as he rung up to your apartment, his denim jacket suddenly too hot in the cool air. At the sight of his face through the monitor, you immediately let him through. In about five minutes, his face appeared at your door, to which you smiled at anxiously in greeting and unlocked the door.
“Hey,” you said, “what’s up?”
He rose a brow, “a lot of things?”
“Was that an innuendo?” You grinned cheekily, though felt your cheeks flush hot at the thought of last night. “Sorry - come in.”
Sam walked through the apartment, the sights and smell bringing back a flash of memories. “So… is everything okay?”
“Yeah, why wouldn’t they be?” You responded, anxiously fiddling with your fingers. You suddenly wished you’d made more of an effort with your appearance, despite the fact that Sam had seen you in worse states.
“You left last night,” he scratched the back of his head, “which was kinda insulting.”
“I’m so sorry, I just felt,” you tried to output your feelings with gestures, “so… ugh, I don’t know. I was feeling a lot of things and needed to be by myself. Only for a while.”
“Sure, I understand,” he nodded, turning to you after having been fumbling with the corner of a magazine on your kitchen counter top. “A little warning would’ve been nice.”
“I know, it was a shitty thing to do,” you said sincerely. “But I’ll never do it again.”
Sam’s posture changed and a small smirk lifted a corner of his lip. “I like the sound of ‘again’.”
“Oh,” you blushed, realising what you had insinuated. You hated feeling this rush of shyness - you felt like a teenager. At least the other night you had the lack of sobriety to fake confidence. “Well, me too.”
“So…” Sam suddenly took a hold of your hand, intertwining his fingers with yours. “When’s that ‘again’?”
hi hello could you give me some historical stuff on why you ship halemadge? this isn't sarcastic srsly i ship them too but i want to know more about them! thanks!
***source: The Life and Death of America’s First Spy: Nathan Hale by William Phelps***
- Nathan wrote a poem to Ben that, in part, reads:
“Reviv’d a little by your letter,
With hopes of speeding better,
At length I venture forth once more,
But fearing soon to run ashore.
My thoughts had once convey’d you home,
In safety to your wonted dome;
But gladly went a second time,
Attended by your muse and rhyme.
That you are there, the single proof,
You bring to me is quite enough.
But here, I think you’re wrong, to blame, Your gen'rous muse, and call her lame.”
- When Ben and Nathan wrote each other, they would typically sign off with nicknames. Ben took the name “Damon,” while Nathan chose “Pythias.” In Greek legend Damon and Pythias were very close friends. Pythias was sentenced to be executed because of his plot against the tyrant Dionysius I of Syracuse. He was given leave to take care of his affairs, and Damon pledged to give his own life if Pythias did not return. Pythias did return as promised, and Dionysius was so enamored with their loyalty that he released them. Phelps says that Ben and Nathan “chose the fourth century B.C. names as nicknames while studying and thought it endearing, if not comforting, to continue exchanging letters in the same manner” (Phelps 23).
- When Ben left to take a job at Wethersfield, Connecticut, Phelps says “the situation caused a great deal of impatience, detachment from family, and mild depression for Tallmadge.” He found great pleasure in receiving Nathan’s letters. He said to Nathan that the correspondence “that which has for some time subsisted between you & myself, I desire may never have an end.” (Phelps 24).
- Ben would tease Nathan about being a flirt. (Phelps 25).
- This is just really cute: Ben once wrote to Nathan, chiding him for not keeping up their correspondence, and said “I can say, as an Irishman has said before me, ‘I know you are not dead, for if you was you would have sent me word before now.’” (Phelps 57).
- Nathan, when writing to someone referred to as P.H., said that “I am always glad to hear from Mr. Tallmadge.” He continued, saying “But more to see him, which, Thank God, I have now the happiness frequently to do.” (Phelps 125).
- “The letters Tallmadge wrote to Nathan articulate the profound appreciation the two men shared for each other” (Phelps 24).
All in all, Nathan Hale and Benjamin Tallmadge were extremely close friends who loved each other very much. I cry about them way too much.
Anon said: Hi, I wanted to request a Misfits (I’m not sure if you’ve seen the show) imagine? Could it be where Nathan always teases and makes fun of Y/N but it’s because he likes her, and one day he asks her out and tells her he likes her in a cute funny way? Thank you :)
I fricking love misfits
“Hey (Y/N), how about you take off that jumpsuit and give
us a show!” Nathan called.
You rolled your eyes and kept scrubbing the graffiti on the wall. But he wouldn’t let
up. Day after day of this bullshit. All the time always. Today was the day you put your foot down.
You threw the brush into the bucket and turned to face him.
He grinned mischievously. “Finally.”
You slammed him against the wall and put an arm across his chest to keep him in place.
“Oh, we can do it like this. I don’t mind it rough.”
He was goading you, and you knew it. But you didn’t care. You were sick of him.
“(Y/N), don’t do it,” Kelly said, putting a hand on your arm.
You let him go, breathing hard.
“Oh, what a shame. I was really looking forward to–”
He was cut off when you punched him in the face.
“I don’t care how cute you are,” you hissed. “You don’t get to talk to me like that.”
The next day, you were getting changed after work with everyone else, but right before you left, Nathan grabbed your arm.
“(Y/N), can I talk to you?”
You glared at him. “If you’re going to ask me to fuck you, the answer is no.”
“N-no, it’s not–I’m not going to–ugh, why is this so hard?”
You looked at him in confusion. “What? You’ve never had a problem doing shit like this before.”
“No, I’ve never had a problem catcalling girls. This is harder than that.”
“Will you spit it out? I’m supposed to meet my friends at a–”
He cut you off by kissing you. “Do you wanna go on a date with me? I know I haven’t exactly been the greatest person to you, but I do like you. A lot.”
He looked at you hopefully. His eyes were beautiful. He really was adorable.
“This goes against my better judgement, but okay. You’re cute and you can be nice. But I swear to god, if you do anything to make me regret it…”
He shook his head. “I promise I won’t. So is that a yes?”
You grinned. “Yeah.” You slung your bag over your shoulder and kissed him on the cheek. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”
He stood there, smiling like an idiot. “Yeah. See you tomorrow.”
So, I’m having an One Tree Hill marathon, drowning in married Naley feels and their adorable son and thinking about future Bughead and how they would be exactly the same, a supporting, loving, head-of-heels in love married couple just like Naley.
And in the early episodes of season 6, Jamie is being teased for wearing a superman cape everyday at school (because his good friend just died and they had matching ones, poor boy) and when he gets into a fight, Haley and Nathan sit him down and she advices him that next time he should walk away and if the cape is making him happy then he should stick with it, telling him that in high school people used to tease her too about a poncho she used to wear but she didn’t care, she kept wearing him, because it was like her armor, she felt good under her skin with it. Later in the episode Nathan saves the day (daddy Nathan is husband and father of my child goals), Jamie stops being teased and when Haley puts him to bed that night he asks why she is not wearing her poncho anymore. And Haley smiles lovingly and says “I think, one day, I just outgrew it.”
Now, wouldn’t that be such a fitting and beautiful scene between Jughead and the future Bughead baby? The two of them looking at old photographs and the little one noticing his beanie or he/she is being teased about some trade regarding their appearance or interests and Jug showing them a photo of him and Betty in high school and explaining to them how his beanie was his security blanket and how he didn’t care about what people thought and they should do the same too, as long as they are happy. And the little one would look up with round, full of wonder eyes and ask why he is not wearing it anymore and Jug would turn to his wife that is watching the lovely interaction with a lovesick smile from the thershold of their kid’s bedroom, give her his characteristic full of devotion look and happy smile and say “I think, one day, I just didn’t need it anymore.”
anon request: Could you maybe do a Nathan Mackinnon imagine? Something really cute and fluffy maybe. Please and thank you!
this was a fun one to write and i really enjoyed it!! i hope you guys like it:))
requests are open:))
here i was sat on the couch with my long term boyfriend nathan. hockey was playing in the background as i read my books and rested my back on his chest. nathan’s fingertips play with my hair softly.
once i was done a chapter of my book i layed it on my lap and rested my head back on his chest. he hummed in response to this gesture as if asking what’s up. “do you remember” i started speaking but then i fully turned so nate and i were face to face.
“the first time we met?” i smiled when i saw a surprised and humorous look on his face. “how could i forget!” he laughed loudly probably thinking back to the day. back then i was still in university and working as much as i could as a waiter as the busiest restaurant in town.
I’m sorry this took a million years but I hope the fact that it’s cute as fuck makes up for it.
Nathan hated the idea of ever getting a pet. They were messy as hell with their poop, pee, fur, and vomit. They always smelled like ass, even when freshly cleaned. Then one time when he was at Frank’s Pompidou tried to pee on him and that sealed the deal. He was never, under any circumstances, getting a pet.
At least, that’s what he said until he found the one acceptable situation. A few months after he and his fiancé Warren bought a cute starter home in Arcadia Bay, Warren brought home a new little fuzzy family member. He hadn’t planned on it. He just went to pick up Kate from the vet clinic she worked at because they were going out for lunch, saw the saddest looking puppy he’d ever seen and just had to have her. It was a cute little terrier mix, a runt, with scraggly hair and what appeared to be the beginnings of a little doggy beard. She was the last one left of the litter so Warren had to go pick her up and take her home after work. It wasn’t like he could just leave her there.
When Nathan got home later that day, he was livid. He’d thought he made it perfectly clear to Warren how he felt about animals but apparently he hadn’t been clear enough. He insisted that Warren return the puppy or find a different home for it. Then Warren got upset, teary-eyed, saying that he loved the dog and she was meant to be a part of their family. Nathan was going to raise the point that Warren couldn’t possibly love the dog after only having known her a few hours but he really couldn’t handle it when Warren was upset. So he gave in, making sure Warren knew that he was alone in taking care of the dog, before sitting down on their couch in an irritated huff.
“So, what did you name her? Something from Star Trek or Dr. Who or some shit?” Nathan asked, trying to hide the irritation in his voice, as he checked e-mails on his phone.
“I named her no such thing!” Warren replied, sounding genuinely offended before he added, “I named her Carrie Fisher.”
Nathan looked up from his phone. “You named the dog… Carrie Fisher?”
“Uh huh,” Warren said smiling as he picked up the puppy. “Carrie Fisher Graham-Prescott.”
Nathan blinked slowly, scowling as he said, “Warren, that’s a terrible name! You need to give her a better name. I don’t care if she’s just a stupid dog-“
“Hey! She’s not a stupid dog!” Warren chastised as he covered the dogs’ floppy little ears as if she could understand English. “She’s our baby, our little child.”
“Oh my fucking God, you’re one of those people? I didn’t agree to this when we got engaged, man.”
Warren giggled before sitting next to Nathan on the couch. “You shoulda thoughta that before we bought a house together. Now you’re stuck with me forever.” He placed a coy kiss on Nathan’s cheek and grinned.
Nathan would’ve liked to have said that the progression of him going from hating Carrie to being just as smitten with her was a long process. He would have liked to have at least been able to say that he stood a fighting chance against a puppy that weighed only a few pounds. He tried to hide that a change had happened. He refrained from showing the dog much affection, didn’t let her sit on his lap, and refused to take any kind of care of her when people were around.
When Nathan was alone with Carrie, it was a very different story. He’d let her know he was excited to see her, would talk to her, give her all sorts of belly rubs and even pick her up to plant little kisses on the top of her head. He’d let her nap on him, cuddle next to him, play with her, and essentially all the things he swore to never do. Warren was none-the-wiser.
That was, until one day Nathan was working from home. He had to lock himself away in his home office because he had a time crunch and couldn’t afford any distractions. He worked almost non-stop, only taking a break to scarf down a salad in record time. He let out a sigh of relief as the afternoon hit and he was finally done with all that paperwork. He could relax and have a few minutes of puppy time before Warren got home.
Except Nathan couldn’t find Carrie. He called for her, tried tempting her with treats and the prospect of going outside. He squeaked all of her toys that he could find, threw some tennis balls on their wood floods and nothing seemed to tempt her out of hiding. He checked all the rooms in the house, even the back yard and the garage, desperate to find her. By the time Warren came home, Nathan was a mess of tears.
“Woah, woah, Babe, what’s wrong?” Warren asked the second he saw his hysterical fiancé. He grabbed Nathan, pulling him into a hug, assuming the worst had happened. With how upset Nathan seemed someone had to have died or been hospitalized or something. At least, that’s what Warren assumed.
“Warren… I lost our baby.”
“…Dude, what?” Warren asked with skepticism, thinking that he misheard Nathan’s sobs.
“Our child! Carrie! She’s gone, Warren! I can’t find her anywhere!”
“Did she escape out the front door? Did she make a run for it?”
“No! I ate lunch and she was in here and then she just wasn’t here when I got done with work!”
Warren nodded, far too calm for Nathan’s likely. Didn’t he understand this was a crisis? They had a missing dog-child! She could be anywhere. She could’ve run away and been so far that they’d never see her again. She could’ve been abducted!
Or she could’ve been napping until their bed and not heard Nathan calling her for.
As Warren handed Nathan the tired puppy, Nathan actually started crying harder. He kissed Carrie on the forehead, telling her to never scare him like that again, and she responded by yawning and looking unamused. She gave Nathan a little lick on the cheek, hoping the shut him up, before closing her eyes and trying to go to sleep. She was a growing puppy, after all, and needed to get some shut eye.
“So… our baby, huh?” Warren teased once Nathan had calmed down.
“Shut up, Warren.”
Warren chuckled. He picked up Carrie, sat down next to Nathan on the couch, and then plopped Carrie on Nathan’s lap. Her tail wagged excitedly as she looked up at Nathan. She settled on his laps as soon as he gave her the pets she so desperately wanted.
“When she’s full grown, can we get another one?” Warren asked as he leaned over to scratch Carrie’s head and then planted a kiss on Nathan’s cheek.
Nathan looked like he was thinking for a moment, looked down at Carrie, and then looked back at Warren. “…I get to help pick out her little sibling.”
A smile settled on Warren’s lips. “Of course you do.”
So, uh. At one point, I had written more of an after-story bit, but then realized it was getting out of hand and cut it from the original. And then kind of expanded it, despite it not technically being a sequel.
This takes place sometime after Warren is Strange. Canon unless I actually write a sequel, I guess. Not sure how I feel about the way I went about it so things could change. Might finish it one day, who knows.
Can you do an imagine where Nate and Y/N are married (25 years old) and they have a 3 year old named Jackson and a 1 year old named Ellie and Nate and Y/N have been arguing a lot for the past few months so one night things get pretty bad and Nate says he wants a divorce so Y/N makes him leave and after like 2 weeks of him not seeing her or the kids they realize they need each other and at the end just do it thang???
“Get the fuck away from me!”
“What is wrong with you?!”
“You’re never home! You always come home late and you never spend time with our kids!” I screamed at Nate, tears were threatening to spill out.
“I’m working! I’m trying to provide for you and our kids! Why don’t you understand that?!”
“Oh so smoking weed with your friends is working? Hah.” I was beyond pissed now. I turned around so I wouldn’t have to look at him.
“Don’t fucking walk away from me! We’re not done talking!” He stormed in front of me getting close to my face.
“Nathan. Get. Away. From. Me.” He wouldn’t move just stood in front of me.
“Why do you have to act like such a bitch all of the time?!”
“Why do you have to act like a dick all the time?!” I spat back. I could hear our kids Jackson and Ellie start to cry.
“See what you did now?!” Nate yelled at me.
“Me?! That was all you! You can never stop yelling at me! That’s all you do! You always yell!”
“I always yell because you never do anything right!”
“What don’t I do right? Huh, Nate?! I spend all my time with our kids, I cook, I clean, hell I do everything by myself. I practically raised these kids by myself!” Our kids were still crying in the background.
“Don’t you dare say that!”
“Why? It’s true.”
“Stop making me feel guilty for having a career! Yes I was on tour when Jackson was born! You know I would’ve came home if I could to see him!”
“Nate. The first time you met Jackson was when he was 3 months old. You didn’t come home for 3 months! You’re never home!”
“Maybe I’m never home because I’m not happy here! It’s not the same as it used to be! We’re not the same! I..can’t be with you anymore. I want a divorce.” He didn’t look at me as he said those words.
“You heard me! Leave! It’s what you do best!” I screamed at him.
“No, fuck you Nate.” I growled as he walked out the door.
I locked the door behind him and walked to Jackson and Ellie’s shared room.
“It’s okay baby.” I picked up Ellie out of her crib and then picked Jackson up out of his bed.
“Wanna sleep with momma tonight?” I asked them both. Jackson nodded his head and stopped crying. Ellie was still wailing at the top of her lungs.
“Shhh baby.” I cooed to her as I put Jackson down on my bed.
He quickly crawled under the covers and stared at me and Ellie.
I rocked her back and forth and patted her back, she was a daddy’s girl. Even though he wasn’t home much she loved him a lot.
I started singing to her, that would always calm her down. She soon started to quiet down and I put her down on the bed. I crawled under the covers with them and Jackson quickly cuddled up next to me.
“Mommy?” He whispered.
“Yes, baby?” I stroked his hair as he talked.
“What’s a divorce?” He questioned me.
“Don’t worry about that, baby, okay?” He nodded his head.
“Where did daddy go?”
“He went away, he’s gonna be gone for a while okay?” Jackson nodded his head and closed his eyes. I reached up and turned the lights off before pulling Ellie closer to my body.
“Good night my beautiful babies.” I kissed the tops of their heads before closing my eyes.
Two weeks later.
I just got the kids sleeping, they have been sleeping with me since Nate left. He texted me trying to apologize but I just ignored it. I was washing the dishes from dinner when I heard Nates voice behind me.
“What are you doing here?” I didn’t turn to look at him, I kept on washing the dishes.
“I kinda live here.” He was trying to make jokes.
“Not for the past two weeks you haven’t.”
“I know, ma. I’m sorry.” I heard him walk closer and felt his hands on my hips. He pressed the front of his body against my back. I’ve missed his touch so much.
“I’ve missed you.” He kissed behind my ear before placing kisses down my neck. I felt my knees going weak.
“Nate. Stop.” I turned the water off before turning around in his arms. I put my hands on his chest and pushed him back.
“You left for two weeks. I don’t even know what you did in those two weeks, Nathan.”
“YN, you told me to go, and if you think I cheated on you I didn’t. I was with Johnson the whole time.” I felt better that he was with Johnson, johnson was always my favorite.
“Nate, do you really want a divorce?” My head dropped and I couldn’t look him in the eye.
“Ma, look at me.” He tilted my head up to look at him.
“Of course I don’t want a divorce.” I held his wrist and took it away from my face.
“Then why did you say that? That broke my heart Nate.”
“It was the heat of the moment, I didn’t mean any of those things that I said, lil mama, and I’m sorry, I was just saying those things to hurt you and I regret it.”
“I’m sorry too, Nate.” He put his hands on my hips and pulled me closer, “Your a great father and I appreciate everything you do for me and our kids, I know you missed some parts of their life but you technically didn’t because we were all together supporting you and your dreams. I knew what I was getting into when I married you. I know your career means a lot to you. And I’m sorry I used that against you.”
“Ma, you and our babies mean so much more to me. I can’t stand the thought of losing you. I’ve been miserable these past two weeks. I just wanted to be with you and hold you.”
“Well you’re here now.” I smiled before he leaned in to kiss me. I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him closer to me.
“Jump, ma.” He mumbled against my lips. I did as I was told and wrapped my legs around his waist. His hands gripped my ass and pulled me even closer to his body.
He started walking us toward our bedroom. I quickly broke our kiss and he stopped walking.
“What’s wrong, mama? Don’t you wanna do this.”
“Fuck yes I do, but Jackson and Ellie.”
“They’ll be fine, they’re sleeping in their room babe.”
“No they’re in our bed, they have been for the past two weeks.” He looked a little disappointed.
“How bout we just do it in their room on Jacksons bed…” Nate suggested. I laughed and slapped his chest.
“No! The couch.” I smirked as I went back to kissing him. He chuckled into the kiss and walked us to the living room.
He sat down on the couch with me straddling him.
“You’re so sexy, ma.” His hands prompted my hips to start grinding down on him. Being in just one of Nates t shirts and panties had its perks.
Nate grabbed the hem of my shirt and lifted it off my body.
“Oh, how I missed this body, baby.” He started placing kisses down my chest.
“Nathan, I need you.” I huffed out.
He wrapped his arms around my waist and flipped us over so I was now on the couch. Nate was standing up, I could see the outline of his bulge through his jeans.
He quickly stripped his clothes off and he laid in between my legs on the couch. His fingers hooked into the sides of my panties and pulled them slowly off my body. His fingers ghosted over my clit, teasing me.
“Nathan, we haven’t had sex in so long, I need you. Please.” He smirked and lined himself up at my entrance.
“Of course, ma, but you have to be quiet. Our babies are sleeping.” He reminded me.
He placed his hands on my hips and quickly thrusted into me.
“Oh fuck!” I screamed out, Nates hand flew over my mouth as he pounded into me with no mercy.
“Nathan! Fuck!” My moans were muffled against his hand.
“Fuck, ma. You’re still so tight.” He grunted.
His hands slipped off my mouth and landed on my boobs. He pinched my nipples as he slammed himself into me.
“Harder, baby.” I breathed out of breath. I wrapped my legs around his waist and pulled Nate closer to me.
His hands gripped my waist and he picked me up and pulled me on top of him so I was riding him.
My legs were on either side of him and my hands were on his shoulders.
“Ride me, ma. Fucking ride me.” He moaned as I sunk down on to him.
“Shit Nate, I’m so close.” I could feel my stomach tightening. He reached his hands out and placed them on my hips. He helped slam me down on top of him.
“Nate,” I threw my head back and wrapped my arms around Nates head. My chest was pressed against his and my face was in the crook of his neck.
“Fuck baby. You feel so good.” Nate grunted. His arms were wrapped around my waist and he thrusted his hips up into me.
“I’m cumming! I’m cumming!” I screamed into his neck.
“Fuck, you’re so hot YN.” He grunted before I felt him release into me.
He slowed his thrusts before I leaned back with him still inside of me.
“I’ve missed you, Nathan.” I kissed his lips.
“I’ve missed you more, ma. I love you so much.”
“I love you too.” I kissed his lips as I slid off of him.
He laid down on the couch and pulled me to lay on his chest. I grabbed the blanket that was tossed over the couch and covered both of us.
I soon grew tired listening to Nate breathe as I laid on his chest.
“Promise you’ll never leave me.” Nate mumbled against the top of my head.
“I promise,” I whispered before drifting off to sleep.
Sorry if this sucked! I haven’t written in sooooo long! Request some others if you’d like!(:
The first raindrops were falling from the sky when they reached the hotel. A big, white building with a green climber on it was lit by some outsides lamps. Meredith felt relieved when she saw the hotel, after what happened or could have happened to her that day, the only thing she wanted was to shower and get on a clean bed with an extra blanket on it.
“Do you think they’ll leave a mint on the pillow?” Nathan asked, getting their things from the cab.
“I hope so because I’m starving.”
“Maybe we’ll go to the hotel restaurant and grab something to eat before sleep?”
“No thanks. All I can think of doing tonight is taking a shower and going to sleep.” she smiled.
“Okay. It’s your choice.”
Meredith walked through the big door to the hotel lobby, looked around and found the reception. She walked toward the woman and immediately asked about her room.
“My name is Dr.Grey, my friend and I have booked rooms here.” she said.
“Dr Grey yes, and your friend is?”
“Oh yes I see. Rooms number 200 and 201.”
“The rooms are next to each other?” she asked.
“No they are opposite.”
“Are you ready?” Nathan smiled, holding her bag.
“Of course. I have your key. Here you go.”
“My key?” he asked, ‘I thought we needed only one room?”
“In your dreams. As you know some of us need some to sleep. It’s impossible with you in the room.”
“Well, Dr Grey, I’m flattered. You finally appreciate my skills. My speciality is small spaces as you know.” he grinned.
“I meant talking. It’s hard to sleep when you’re talking.” she smiled.
Both doctors finally found their rooms, Nathan gave her bag and leaned against the door. He looked at Meredith for some time thinking about what happened on the plane, when only few hours before they might have lost their lives. Nathan took a step toward her and touched her cheek, feeling her body shake under his touch.
“No!” she stopped him.
“It’s okay. We don’t have to. It’s your choice, I’ll wait until you’re ready.” he kissed her forehead.
“I’m sorry.” she said quickly, closing the door.
Nathan was lying on the bed for some time. The whole situation gave him so much to thinking about. Especially about Meredith. He was hearing the noise of the city, looking at the ceiling. He didn’t know where all that might end up. Where he might end up if Meredith didn’t want to be with him. He felt something for her, something that gave him chills every time he saw her. Every time she smiled, laughed or just teased him. Nathan loved the way her eyes said yes when her mouth said no. He knew that every time she looked at him, when she thought no one was watching.
Nathan stood up quickly. He wouldn’t wait, he would be there for her, even if she didn’t want to.
The noise of the raging water was like a lullaby. Meredith was under the shower for almost 30 minutes. The water were flowing on her skin, she closed her eyes and remembered the sex in the plane. She told Nathan that no one could know about it. She didn’t want anyone to be hurt, but at once it wasn’t so important to her. Suddenly Meredith opened her eyes, she knew what she had to do. For the first time she doesn’t want to run from all the feelings and resign from her happiness for someone else. She covered herself in the fluffy towel and after seconds she was in her room looking for the robe. When she couldn’t find it, she hoped that everyone in the hotel were already sleeping. She opened the door, dressed only in white hotel towel. When she was already outside, she saw the only person who she wanted to see that night.
“Where are you going, dressed like that?” Nathan asked.
“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I shouldn’t have treated you like that before.”
Nathan looked around the hall, both of them wanted to talk, but suddenly the talk wasn’t that important, Meredith was standing there, covered only with a towel. Nathan found it sexy as hell, but not that much to show it to all hotel guests. He pushed her gently to her room. When the door closed with click, he couldn’t stop himself. Nathan pulled Meredith closer to his body, looked at her and admired her amazing body. He grabbed her arms and crushed her lips with a strong, passionate kiss. Their tongues were dancing in the erotic rhythm, this time he was the one who broke the connection between them.
“I’m sorry. You didn’t want that. Not tonight.” he breathed in deeply.
“I want to, but I’m…”
“It’s okay. I ruined it. When I saw you…covered only in this blanket. I lost it.”
“I don’t want it like that…if we do it here it doesn’t have any meaning. We’ll be only doctors who had sex in the conference. How many couples do you know that start with that?” she asked.
“Couple?” he looked at her, “you and me…you want us to be a couple?”
“Yes. You don’t?”
“Of course, but I thought that…” he paused.
“All I wanted was sex?”
“Well. No. Of course not.”
“It was like that at the beginning, but now that I know you… It’s different.” she shivered.
Nathan took a step towards her and hugged her tightly. Suddenly he lifted her up and put her gently on the bed in front of them. Nathan wrapped her into dark blanket and lay behind her. For the first time that day she felt not only the warmth of his body, but also the safety he gave her only with his presence. He kissed her head and hugged her even tighter.
“I could say that to you.” she whispered.
“That I love you.” she paused. “but I don’t want you to feel like it’s forced in any way.”
“I love you.” he kissed her, “and it not forced, it’s just true.”
“Nathan?” she closed her eyes.
“Will you be here when I wake up?”
“Only if you want me to.”
“I do.” she said sleepily.
“In that case, I’ll be here. Just for you.”
“One more thing.” she said.
“We won’t holding hands.”
Nathan looked at her, she was so sleepy that her eyes were already closing and her body found the best position to rest. He kissed her forehead and whispered into her ear the last words she heard before sleeping.
