natalia kills gif

How many trends posts do you know that can do this?

  • In holidays: 2015 made for an extra irrational Pi Day—3.14 ’15—and a fairly typical St. Patrick’s Day.

  • In entertainment: Tumblr took the wind out of Natalia Kills (a stage name) and Willy Moon (a real name), two judges on New Zealand X-Factor, after they disparaged a contestant for wearing a suit. There’s a new Earth-protecting season of Steven Universe. And five-sevenths of the original study group returned for season six of Community, the only show that ratings can’t kill. No word from our parent company on plans for a movie.

  • In the news: Protests on the UVA campus after student Martese Johnson was injured by police during an arrest. Also, the surprise reelection of Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party.

  • In a morbid blend of news and entertainment: Alleged murderer and confirmed documentary subject, Robert Durst sort of confessed to definitely killing them all.

  • In sports: The F1 Grand Prix—where you can actually crash for not driving fast enough—kicked off in Australia. Serena Williams broke her 14 year boycott of Indian Wells. And mass hysteria in basketball.

  • In the sky: Some pretty northern lights. Thank you, Mr. Sun.

  • In music: The corporate event space known as downtown Austin played host to the annual SXSW Music festival. Sadly missing: the new Blink 182, who performed sans DeLonge in West Hollywood.

Now for the blogs:

  • Goosebumps (goosebumps): The official blog of the bottom two shelves of your 1995 bedroom bookshelf.
  • Daily Mini Veggie (dailyminiveggie): Inedible edibles.
  • The Paley Center for Media (paleycenter): Click an actor, watch their panel at Paleyfest.
  • SXGoodGuys (sxgoodguys): Lest you think SXSW is just a playdate for wealthy dopes.
